Bit surreal going to my fabulous bread shop in the evening for a pizza (also fabulous) but there was not a loaf or pastry in sight and the place was dressed enchantingly with twinkly lights, candles and white tablecloths. Open every Friday evening as a great little pizza place. Great service. And I took some pizza home for lunch today. Thanks to the crew. We'll be back.

I'm a local and come here a lot with friends so to start with I want to say it's absolutely lovely! The only problem is that it really isn't allergen friendly. My husband has a severe nut allergy and all of the food is together side by side. There's no separation of pastries containing nuts etc so it's not a matter or picking a nut free one as it's normally touching something nutty. The same with vegan options there's normally one option but everytime I've been in the vegan option contains peanut butter so anyone who can't have dairy or nuts is scuppered. If you don't have any food allergens it's a great place, but I hope that Stones will consider allergen sufferers and perhaps space out their pastries better and maybe have more then one vegan option (that doesn't contain nuts!).

I don't come in often but sometimes buy bread and on the odd occasion have a coffee or tea with a cake. The bread is good but the service in the cafe is rather lackadaisical. On my last visit I had tea and a cheese twist. The tea was miserable, the cup only half full and the water not very hot. They make their own teabags up. I left it after one sip. It has to be one of the worst cups of tea I have ever had. It will be the last time I eat/drink in the cafe as I left feeling seriously ripped off. The cheese twist was okay but nothing special, it tasted a bit damp. The young man who served me appeared amicable, but when I said something about the tea he seemed a bit nonplussed so I left it.

Having found out about this bakery from a sold out tray of product at the Mawnan Smith village shop we decided we had to go and visit it in person. The following day we got there just before it closed so no pasties and no doughnuts as they had all sold out. A good sign. We tried the Bakewell tart, carrot cake and raspberry frangipane tart. All were excellent but the stand out was the raspberry frangipane tart closely followed by the Bakewell tart which was lit up by excellent jam. Today we took our daughter who has been to many excellent independent bakeries. We all tried the cinnamon buns and they are the best we have ever had! We hope that when they move to their new bakery they can maintain these outstanding pastries. Be prepared to queue - it is worth the wait!

Forget the Danish the size of your face, or the cinnamon buns just oozing sticky icing goodness, or the little flaky custard tarts perfect in 2 bites ( ok, they're big bites) go straight for the homemade donuts every time - jam or if you're lucky and you catch them early, custard. Everyone heading heading up the hill knows where you've been because of the sugar moustache or the pastry crumb coating you have. Smile and accept it... they're probably nipping in too! Obviously there's every kind of bread as well - best wholemeal toast ever on a next day loaf and a seasalt focaccia for the pickiest mamma - but if it a sticky treat you're after Stones is where you need to go.

We were staying for a week in Falmouth and this gem was a welcome sight after a morning wander around the town. Funnily enough I was really fancying focaccia and they were offering focaccia with toppings - but had run out of the toppings. So they were super flexible in allowing me just the bread and butter and discounting the price and it was delicious. We all had a cake too and a coffee and we were very content with the quality, taste and staff service.

I am a foodie and can tell a good/healthy food from a not-so-good one! Trust me I have never tasted a hot chocolate better than this my whole life. I do not like sugary/milky drinks and so I enquired the lady at the till -who mentioned this is made with a dark chocolate ganache! I ordered a small cup. Amazed!! Really less-sweet, non-milky, chocolatey taste that I will never forget. Please keep up the good quality of your cakes and breads and definitely the HOT CHOCOLATES! :-)

We tried to buy two coffees and pastries here on Friday at 4pm, having waited in a queue. We were told that they had already cleaned the machine so no coffee was available. When I asked why, given the last ordering time on the door was 4, the guy laughed at me and said they decided to stop at 3.30 as they had been 'so busy'. I asked if he didn't want to be busy? At this point he stopped laughing and suggested that I was out of order. Pre-ordered some pastries for Mother’s Day only to be told when I arrived that they didn’t have the items I had ordered. I was then laughed at and told “things don’t always work out”. Disappointing as I drove all the way there just to be told they didn’t have all of my order. Would have been easily sorted if I didn’t receive the awful service after I enquired as to why I was able to order them if they weren’t going to be available. I was then told it was because they burnt them and they didn’t want to bother putting more in the oven just for my order.

Waited in a queue to buy in the morning. None of the staff inside were wearing masks or gloves while handling all the food. Croissants were like bread buns - nothing like a croissant - as many others have commented. Pain chocolat had a hard bar of bitter chocolate inside. Croissants in Tesco's were much better. Anyone who thinks Stones Bakery makes a good croissant has obviously never been to France. They were heavy and extremely doughy. The doughnuts were like bread rolls covered in sugar, and very inconsistent with the amount of jam in the middle. The frangipane were however very nice. The food and cpffee is a tad overpriced but it's good, so you know treat yourself i suppose. However, as students we tend to work in coffee shops and most in town are really kind towards youhg adults working. We were in Stones for a few hours sitting in the corner at one of the tables, we made sure we were consumming and not taking any extra space (aka stoping people from being able to sit down). When we left my friend asked for some water in his water bottle and the man at the till looked at him and went: "if you're going to stay that long you need to buy more (which is fair enough" and he rudely added "and now your asking for tap water" acting as if it was ludricorous we ask water. So yh, the bakery is lovely, but for a town filled with students it's unkind and i understand why we might have overstayed our welcome but it was rude and unnecessarily childish to add that comment. We haven't been since.

It was hard to find somewhere to eat in Falmouth, so many choices but so many expensive touristy places also. Just by chance walked passed this little cafe. Nothing special at all which was exactly why we picked it.It's not trying to be something special nor is it claiming to be at all, really understated and not pretentious which I love.Even looking at the menu, one could mistake it as thinking "what?" Good honest food and even had eggs and soldiers. We didn't order it but later saw it. Even looking at it felt good.We had pizza, chorizo sandwich, roasted veg sandwich and quiche with salad. Okay, you thinking they are all really boring, but that's the point, they were all so well made and tasted brilliant. Nothing fancy, just great food.We had cakes also and bought some bread. Everything the right price.I don't know how to describe this place, you either get it or you don't. But like I said, it's not trying to be something neither is it claiming to be.

Amazing bread, always spoilt for choice. Thanks for recommending the sour cherry and raisin, absolutely gorgeous. Great staff, all very helpful and "lovely". Looking forward to my next visit to Falmouth to stock up on bread

Unlike many cafes this has plenty of space and you can see the ovens and bread being baked. We ordered two pizzas, mushrooms on toast and the bread & salad.

Have been in a number of times. The bakery items are impossible to choose from. The quiches are always perfect. Unfortunately the spectacular doughnuts are also perfect. Never had anything like them, go for the custard. Lovely, sunny bright and clean.

We nipped in for a quick coffee, though it was probably the smell of bread that enticed us in. Despite not sampling due to proximity to our breakfast the baking goods looked fantastic and a roaring trade was being done around us. Coffee was lovely and it was pleasant to be exposed to a working bakery.

I love visiting stones, it’s my favourite bakery in Falmouth. It’s the perfect place to meet up with friends for a catch up. It’s easy to spend ages in here watching the bread get made while having a coffee.

Great breakfast 2 days running. They make their own bread on site and it is excellent. Great coffee and some sourdough bread which you toast yourself. Then add your own jam or marmite. Plenty of it and good value.

Café mit offener Backstube, alles handgemacht und sehr gut! Besonders die Donuts mit Vanillefüllung und die Sweet Potatoe Rolls waren wunderbar.

We both very much enjoyed our breakfast after a bizarre incident at ‘The Kitchen’... come to the Stones Bakers instead!! I had eggs, bacon & fried bread, my wife had quiche with salad. Very unpretentious but friendly cafe. Well worth a visit!!

What a gem! We had no idea where to go for lunch but chose the shed; a great choice! The steak was so good and the sole cooked to perfection. Great wine, appetisers and dessert to boot. Fantastic value and the service was great Thank you so much.

The staff were friendly, the service was prompt, the food was good. It's about as good as you could hope for from a family friendly restaurant at the price that it is.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

An unexpected delight. Popped in for an impromptu late lunch, lovely food and even better service. Many thanks, please don't change!
