Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery in Gosport

We turned up for a breakfast unbooked but were given a table straight away. We had the basic breakfast + orange juice which on the whole was OK although choice was a bit limited: eggs: fried only, swimming in grease and all hard, no mushrooms (although available for main meals). My main complaint was that the restaurant, or at least the part we were in, was filthy. The windows and frames looked as though they hadn't been cleaned for months, there was a collection of used food and serviettes down behind the radiator, and the food serving area had old dried food on the surfaces. Very disappointing and off-putting. I accept that prices are at the lower end of the market but that shouldn't be at the cost of basic hygiene. A few minor niggles: I'm gluten free but no GF bread (for toast) was available (it's not difficult to freeze and keep for the few of us who would like it), and how much did our orange juice cost?: it doesn't appear on any of the drinks menus (at the table or on line) and maybe the same goes for other fruit juices. I forgot to ask for coffee but wasn't prompted by our server. Sad and I don't think we'll go back.

We came for a Pizza Party for a 7th birthday. It was a great party and the kids had lots of fun. Brilliantly hosted and the play area in the garden was an added bonus.

We went today for Boxing day lunch the prawn starters, carvery and puddings were all very good especially the cheesecake and Cookie Sunday. Service was excellent. Thank you very much we are likely to book again for next year.

Absolutely shocking. Ordered 4 pizzas. 2 came after 30mins and then decided to tell us that there was no pepperoni left for the other 2 pizzas meaning they hadn’t even stared to cook the other 2. Soggy and bland. The menus were so dirty and sticky. Ive seen cleaner public toilet floors. Never returning

An absolutely great place for a carvery or the menu even the Pizzas. Have always enjoyed this venue for many years. The staff are so helpful and accommodating. Recently we have been getting take out meals from the carvery. Fantastic amount you are given. 100% and if there were more than 5 stars to award then they would get the maximum.

An absolute shocker. Ordered 2 pizzas for just under £30 which they advised would arrive within an hour. After 1½ hours called them only to be told the pizza oven was turned off and they wouldn't be delivering. Looks like the helpful updates from them were in fact lies. Never use these!

Great business and carvery was delicious.

Had the roast dinner with self-service on the vegetables. All of the food was well cooked and tasty, although the meat (turkey) was cut wafer thin, the cost of the food was reasonable (£11.49 each). The only letdown was the drink; I had an overpriced and flat drink that was supposed to be a version of coke/Pepsi. I will stick to water next time.

Went for a breakfast this morning, hadn’t booked a table but Tracy was accommodating as usual! Food was amazing, only a tiny wait and was all cooked fresh! Amazing :)

Went today didnt book for a cavery was made to feel welcome. My son is gluten free as he has celiacs disease the chef a lady wish I got her name was fantastic! She went through all allergen information, made my son his own veg ( as some veg for example had cheese on it like cauliflower which contained wheat) and gluten free gravy, my son was ecstatic the chef went out of her way and knew her allergens. Food was lovley staff friendly will definitely be going back!
