My wife and I popped in on a Friday morning. Very glad we did - great food, great staff, great coffee and really good value. Started chatting to other people in cafe - they loved it too - freshly cooked food and more than enough on the plate for the healthiest of appetites. Looking forward to going for breakfast on Saturday. A real find

Just visiting Stone and needed a coffee and a snack. The outside appearance looked inviting and the big windows allowed a view of the pleasant interior. There were a few other diners but plently of space for my solo visit. The cafe looked clean and the staff smart, friendly and attentive. I decided on a traditional pastie and a latte coffee. I went to a table with a view out of the window but that also gave me a view of the counter and fellow customers. Be aware that the cafe welcomes customers with their dogs so if this bothers you this cafe may not be for you. My coffee arrived first and was very good. The pastie took quite a bit longer but I was happy to wait as I surmised it was being warmed through in an oven rather than a microwave. After a reasonable wait my pastie arrived complete with a small bowl of tomato ketchup which was a nice touch. I dug in, the pastry was really nice and the filling heated through nicely, however, once I reached the centre the filling got cooler and then cold. I could have requested a return to the oven but frankly I needed to go and I pushed on, the flavour was delicious and I finished at the other end which had become warmer again. Another four minutes and it would have been perfect. The menu and choices of beverages, cakes and savouries was extensive, with other dishes being available from the menu. Despite the mishap I would happily return, but I would ask for extra cooking time for my pastie. Drew_22

We visited Stone Baked for lunch today. Never again - it was organised chaos. We waited forever for 2 coffees, before being served 2 which had been waiting by the machine for the last 10 mins, after refusing these we were brought two lattes with hardly any milk in (apparently the coffee machine had run out of milk), these too went back before we were served our drinks. We waited & waited, wondering where our food was & after over 40 minutes of waiting we decided to leave & asked for a refund on our food. We complained - we thought politely - to the woman behind the counter, who offered no apology & just said we had come in after a busy period, we asked what had happened to our order but she didn't want to know & eventually became very confrontational & rude. We eventually left the cafe with her shouting at us to "get out!". Surely constructive criticism should be taken on board, with a view to improving, rather than the attitude & rudeness we experienced.

Visited this café for breakfast on Thursday - 4 of us plus the dog! Cannot overstate how well we were treated, (including the dog), the quality/variety of food and value for money. Wouldn't hesitate recommending or returning - well worth a visit.

Stone baked is a lovely bakery in stone. There is a wide selection of cakes as well as sausage rolls and pasties. My niece loves it here(3) and thoroughly enjoys the cakes. She especially loves the flake cakes which are amazing!! Would definitely recommend for a qiuck coffee and cake :)

This is a handy location in the pretty town of Stone. It had a good selection of food and nice tables inside with an outdoor space too. The issue was with a trainee server who took forever to sort orders and then struggled with actually putting through the machine. This is absolutely not her fault and everyone has got to train- she was friendly and smiley- but to the other staff, don't just leave a trainee to it alone. We missed our car timing out as a result of the slow service.

I was looking for an alternative to a full English breakfast and chose cheesy oatcakes and tea. The main server was new, but very polite, as were all the staff. A better layout would help and a little training. The food was good, the tea was good value, served in a pot. The unorganised serving saw several people leave before being served. But there were several regular customers while I was there. I would recommend with patience advised.

This is the first time we have been to Stone Baked Cafe.On entering, it was confusing as to where to order. My friend asked if we ordered at the counter, and was abruptly answered with a ‘Yes’. No menus, everything is written on the walls. There are not many tables, and the ones that are there are far too large for the size of the place. The chairs are also big and cumbersome.A downside to the cafe - No Toilets! In this day an age that’s quite ridiculous. There should at least be somewhere to wash hands. The coffee was nice.

A massive disappointment - the staff were completely amateurish, orders were taken wrong, meals came out at different times, no sugar or salt, panini not toasted properly and not filled with the advertised filling. A great pity as this could be so much better. If we had not paid before receiving the meal, we would certainly not have paid the full amount afterwards. Could not wait to get out!

Funny old place this. Our main reason for visiting was that we wanted lunch but had the dog with us and I recalled it being dog friendly from a previous visit to Stone. And it is still dog friendly. At first it all feels a bit "Fawlty Towers". There were no menus on the table. There was a menu on the wall but no prices. It wasn't clear if it was table service or self-service. And there was a mish-mash of stuff on the walls as decoration. We asked for ketchup but there wasn't any. And we asked for glasses of water but were given only one. But I'm going to overlook all that for a number of reasons. First, the aforementioned dog policy. Secondly, the service was very friendly. Third, it's cheap. Finally, the food was good. We asked for the advertised pork rolls but the pork wasn't ready (surprise). But the turkey (which I don't recall being advertised) had just come out of the oven, having been freshly roasted. So two hot roasted turkey rolls went down a storm, with cranberry sauce, etc (even better as we weren't having turkey for Christmas). One shared bowl of chips was all that was needed as it was a huge portion. We'd definitely come back again for the good, well priced food and friendly faces. Handy for the high street. And Stone has a good periodic farmers market with some great produce and we timed our visit well.

Having arrived in Stone after a three hour journey, we looked around for lunch in the high street. There are several cafes and restaurants, but this one stood out simply because it served good, honest food.

Yesterday, I had the pulled pork wrap with salad reasonably priced takeaway. Pork was nice but I wasn't too keen on the "fresh" Salad. Overall, the place gets a 3.5 from me.

I pop in for lunch on a frequent basis. I find the quality of the home cooked fare to be exceptional and great value . Its not fine dine , just an upmarket café and bakery. Today I had the home cooked mushroom soup which was as good as I have tasted anywhere. The hygene level at 5 is a reflection of the hardworking staff.

The iced buns so stale they tasted like they'd been there for several days. It used to be a really nice bakery and the cakes were lovely.

Stone town is really missing Greggs, Stone Baked can't stand alone as the towns only bakery. I Waited 20 minutes today for a wrap that was mostly tasteless and expensive. The cake was nice though, always have been. Will limit my visits to the quietest times and buy only cakes and scones

Thank goodness they sell Chatwins products as I overheard several people check before buying that they were buying Chatwins, one lady walked out when told it was their own product.

Ordered a roll to be made up. Lady had a phlegmy cough, didn’t wear gloves and proceeded to wipe her nose on the back of her hand before putting the ham on my roll…..come on please. I couldn’t eat it, you’ll find it in the bin outside
