Excellent Pre-Theatre Steak at Steak of Art, Bristol! Just had a fantastic pre-theatre meal at Steak of Art in Bristol! The place has a brilliant vibe and the decor is genuinely great. Service was top-notch, really friendly and efficient. For food, I had the rib-eye and the missus had the rump, and both steaks were cooked absolutely perfectly. Totally recommend Steak of Art for anyone wanting a quality steak and a great atmosphere before a show.

Ate here last night, what a treat! The venue is super stylish, the staff really lovely and the food was amazing! We shared a chateaubriand with sides and sauces, and it was all cooked to perfection. The whole experience was 10/10. Special thanks to Izzy for making our visit extra special. Truly hoping it gets to stay open!

We kicked things off with a couple of starters — the chicken croquettes were a standout: rich, creamy and topped with crispy chicken skin for that extra crunch and flavour. I also tried the burnt ends, which looked the part but didn’t quite hit the mark for me flavour-wise. For mains, the steak was smoky and cooked well — a solid plate that delivered on tenderness and portion size. There’s so many cuts and size options so lots of choice for big groups who might have varying stomach sizes and budgets! The sides were the real stars for me: the garlic spinach was buttery and delicious. Plus tell me a time truffle fries are not a good idea! The space itself is full of character, with bold, creative interiors and eye-catching artwork throughout. It’s a unique setting that definitely adds something extra to your meal.

I highly recommend you get a steak from Spoons instead. Steak in their name, yet they cooked it as if they'd never seen one before! The audacity to serve a well-done leather couch and call it a medium rare rib eye. Awfully slow service and overly expensive everything. They didn't even have the steak I originally wanted to order. The employees said this was due to the Operations Director. Not worth bringing your business here as they do not respect their own business, nor their workers from the sound of it. This sort of lack of care for their craft poisons the atmosphere and the service down to the core. Served me a medium well, nearly well-done, instead of a medium rare on the rare-side like I requested! My last *Google* review for SOTA was taken down because it did not have a picture of the food I ordered. I am wary of other reviews of SOTA if this is how they treat the poor reviews. Attached is a picture of the food I ordered from Steak Of the Art, showing that I was a customer here!

I booked here for Mother’s Day and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Grace was our server, she was lovely, attentive, and friendly. The food was very good, the roasts were very good, flavourful, and great portions for the price. My only criticism would be the beef on the roast could’ve been served pinker - but that’s personal preference; the piece of chicken was cooked well but more flavour is needed. However, my dad really enjoyed it so no complaints there. The yorkies are massssive too! I had the squid for starter and it was so good, crispy, and not overly oily. The flavour was well balanced. My mum had burnt ends and they were so tender. The chicken croquettes were surprising, big portion, very pretty, and my dad enjoyed them. Personally the squid was the best. I had the black garlic short rib and wow! Tender rip and amazing mashed potato. Surprising the mash was the star of the show for me - so creamy, smooth, and overall a simple mash done perfectly. I would recommend coming here for sure, the prices are reasonable for the portions and the flavours are pleasant.

It breaks my heart reading of the company going into administration. A fabulous restaurant (two, actually) and genius concept. Been there a few months ago, and I had an amazing experience. 5 stars all around, and I really, REALLY hope to see these lovely people reopening soon. UPDATE: My apologies. The food itself was well cooked and tasty. However, for a £31 steak to not come with any accompaniments (besides what can only be described as a single leaf and 2 small tomatoes) felt like very poor value, especially considering the high cost of sides and a sauce. The staff were nice and friendly however felt a little inexperienced. The view out of the window was almost hilariously unappealing because of the large signs reading ‘endoscopy clinic’ (although this is only some of the booth seating). The art theme was nice but half hearted with a selection of paintings and some interesting art at the table, although this felt a little run down. Knowing that the restaurant had art in the name, I was expecting the menu to be more than black text on white paper as in any other restaurant.

La sensación entre nuestros amigos (6 de nosotros) era el entrante y el postre no eran buenos, solo promedio y tuvimos un poco de desperdicio. Los filetes se disfrutaron y se cocinaron a la orden, los filetes eran de buena calidad. El restaurante para mí era ruidoso, pero estaba ocupado. La comida tardó mucho en salir, casi una hora, un poco demasiado.

Went here for our sons 4th birthday, there was only 3 of us and spent 79.47 on 2 steaks 2 chips and a kids meal, ridiculous prices, I've cooked better steak myself! Also watched the staff go next door to get a bag of birds eye peas, overpriced majorly, music was blaring we where basically shouting at eachother to talk, wouldn't recomend going here! Also if your buying a steak it doesn't come with anything it's just the steak! Absolute disappointment!!

We booked Steak of the Art on a Saturday evening for a table of 19 to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. From start to finish, I cannot fault it. They made it so easy to organise, they gave us a private area that was curtained off (it was a surprise for my dad and I really did not expect this), the staff were all so lovely and couldn’t have done more to help and the food was also amazing and came out in perfect time. Thank you to all of the staff who made the whole experience so easy for me to organise! And just a lovely overall experience. Would 100% recommend and will definitely go again.

I visited Saturday with my daughter as a Mothers day treat. The Steak was amazing, best I've had. The sides (we shared ceasar salad, Mac & cheese and chips) were also delicious, but I thought they were very over priced. The waiter, Kurt, was just the best, he was attentive and had a wonderful sense of humour. He also gave us a lovely hug when we left.

Very disappointed, poor service, long waits for food & drinks despite restaurant being half empty . (That should of been a sign ) Food came out in different stages so steak cold by time chips / sides came out . Waitress not communicating anything . It was 2 hours from time sat to time I got my main . With no explanation. Extra food not ordered but charged for & beware if you ask for sauce I.e ketchup/ BBQ for the children’s chips is 3.30 extra each time but they do t make you aware of this . Food ordered that was not brought out All in all the worse service & experience I’ve had in probably 10 yrs . Couldn’t walk out if I wanted too as had a lift into Bristol & was reliant on someone else. That’s 3 hours of my life wasted. I didn’t make the reservation in my name , my son did as it was his girlfriend’s birthday meal that was ruined . I was one of the guests .

Firstly, on a positive note I have to admit this is a very cool and quirky location. Ten mins after taking drinks order returned to say they could not make one of them and offered no alternative No table water was offered at all until i asked for it Waitress clearly just didn’t want to be there. On the booking notes I advised them that it was a birthday celebration. No reference was made to this at all. We could hear staff arguing in the kitchen. We were eventually asked if everything was ok with our food. Sadly as we were almost finished. I explained our disappointment to the duty manager and to his credit he was very apologetic, gave us a round of free drinks and a decent discount off the final bill. High end prices for mediocre food and sub standard customer service.

Visited the restaurant as a party of adults and this was to be my first visit hearing good things about the restaurant Unfortunately, I didn’t have the experience I was expecting, I ordered the rib eye steak and I know there is supposed to be some fat on the meat (gives it a lovely taste) but my steak was full of gristle and fat and very little meat. I would have expected a lot more from a restaurant that is renowned for its steaks and if it was special wouldn’t have mind paying the price but ended up very disappointed and wouldn’t be rushing back.

Had a lovely meal on Saturday but was concerned regarding pricing policy on drinks. 1 Korev £6.80 & Diet Coke £3.90 = £10.70. However I like a little dash of lime in my Korev for which I seem to have been charged £1.07 for as my total actually came to £11.77. Drinks are so expensive these days without these additional charges. Also how do you get a Full pint AND Lime into a pint glass, which incidentally could have been a little fuller?

it’s crazy if anyone has anything bad to say about this restaurant! My partner and I came here on Sunday 9 Feb for our 4 year anniversary and I was blown away by how attentive all of the staff were including bar, BOH and FOH - they were so personable, chatty and helpful with any questions and queries we had. Special shout out to our waiter Kurtis who was such a legend all evening and made us laugh the whole time, big up Kurtis!! We were also waited on a guy whose name I didn’t get but he was also wonderful. Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing vibes and atmosphere - we’ve decided to make this restaurant our anniversary hot spot every year, thank you for making our evening so special to everyone working that Sunday evening, will be visiting again and recommending to everyone who wants a lovely bit of steak! Me and my partner came here for a roast dinner. Thoroughly deserve a review as the roast dinner was lovely! Really tasteful food and service! Roasties were delightful, beef was so tender! Friendly staff, attentive and helpful! Only thing I’d say was the gravy pots are tiny and you have to pay £2.95 extra for another tiny pot. Please review of maybe giving a larger gravy to begin with. Cheesecake was to die for! I didn’t get a picture as I inhaled it 😅

¿Por dónde empiezo? Tuvimos una salida de trabajo para 16 personas. El personal de la mesa logró dejar caer una orden en el camino de entrada. Se suponía que una orden era media pero estaba bien hecha. Había estado sentado tanto tiempo que el huevo corrido en la parte superior se había vuelto duro. Una vez que volvió estaba casi crudo, así que volvió de nuevo. A uno de los participantes se le escapó el pedido y casi habíamos terminado todos cuando lo pusieron en bandeja. Llegó el mío menos el huevo que había pedido y sé que pedí la grupa pero el 90 % no era comestible (ver foto de lo que no pude comer). Me quejé pero el gerente no parecía tan interesado. La factura era de casi 800 libras (compramos bebidas por separado y no teníamos un entrante o postre). Nos negamos a pagar el cargo de servicio, que fue desafortunado para el personal de mesa que era muy bueno y un poco avergonzado por tantos errores. Si estás en una gran fiesta no comas aquí obviamente no pueden hacer frente.

Where do I start? We had a works outing for 16 people. The table staff managed to drop one order on the way in. One order was supposed to be medium but was well done. It had been sitting so long the runny egg on top had gone hard. Once it came back it was almost raw so it went back again. One of the party had their order totally missed and we had all nearly finished by the time he was plated up. Mine arrived minus the egg which I had ordered and I know I ordered the rump but 90% of it was inedible (see picture of what I could not eat). I did complain but the manager didn't seem that interested. The bill was almost £800( we bought drinks separately and did not have a starter or dessert). We refused to pay the service charge which was unfortunate for the table staff who were very good and a little embarrassed by so many mistakes. If you are in a large party do not eat here they obviously can not cope.

I've been to Steak of the Art (SOTA) a few times over the years previously always having steak... as you would! This time I had the fish of the day, which was salmon. In all honesty the salmon was over-cooked (for me) and the samphire too salty to eat. Also no one explained it came as a full meal and no description was given in the menu, so I added a bowl of chips, which as it turned out I didn't need. On the positive side the sauce was lovely and tasty and smooth and little touches like the twills were really nice. We were late arriving because of unexpected hold-ups and they held the table for us, which was really helpful. I will no doubt go to SOTA again, but have learnt my lesson and will have steak!

Edit, 01/01/25 Just as nice as I remembered. Had the rib-eye steak, truffle fries and it was the best steak Ive ever had. Older reaview...This is based on the Sunday roast dinner. Great service, food was delicious. I had the beef rib and would go back to it again. It was juicy, large and full of flavour. Would have been nice to have a bit more veg (I'm greedy) and a small pot of gravy for the table.

We were really looking forward to this after completing an escape room nearby. We had an early dinner booked, on arrival we noticed another a dog in the restaurant, the dog was barking throughout our meal, whilst we are a group of pet owners we all felt dog barking in a restaurant was inappropriate. That aside drinks came quickly. Starters took a long time considering the restaurant was quiet. The prawns and squid starters were luke warm and fairly bland. The steaks came out hot, but the rib eye was poor quality for the price, blue cheese sauce was nice and so was the cabbage side. Having eaten at many steak restaurants we felt this was poor, everything is extra so actually it ended up being quite expensive and not worth it. One of our party started to feel unwell and just wanted to leave, so we didn't report our disappointment. We won't be back far better steak options in Bristol.

We went here for my Grandsons 18th Birthday Party and there were 11 of us. The table was booked for 19.00 and we were all there early. They gave us a side room which was curtained off from the rest of the restaurant so it was nice and private. We ordered drinks and then we waited and we waited, and we waited. No one came near us to ask if we wanted more drinks, or to advise where our food was, that we had to pre order a week before. Quite why, is still a mystery. After an hour, I asked one of the waiting staff what was going on. Basically we'd been overlooked/forgotten !! Only 3 of us were having a starter and a few minutes later they arrived. I had the Squid which was ok, but it was only warm, not hot. Then the main courses arrived about 10 minutes later. I had chosen a Ribeye Steak and it was nicely cooked, although there was a lot of meat juice swimming around on my plate. The blue cheese sauce was nice and the chips (very chunky) were ok We summoned the Manager to voice our displeasure at the service and after some negotiations, he took 10% off our bill and removed the service charge. Personally, I would have been much happier with a full bill and far better service !

What a shambles! This place has gone down the drain. We arrived a little early and they wanted us in a very quiet Friday night room. Ordered, and waited, and waited. We waited for so long other tables had left after arriving after us. We felt like we had been forgotten. Are starters were warm ish so gave them the be if it of the doubt. An hour and a half later are stakes were cold and unseasoned. You know it’s not hot when the butter does melt!! Sent it back. They then came out with the sames steaks that I can only assume were microwaved. When you pay nearly £45 for a steak you expect much better than this. We were so upset, they only offered us a discount or a free drink - but we don’t drink alcohol!! The waitress kept saying the manager would come over but he never did. We didn’t touch the food - as 2 of the sides were also come and the other sudes never even came! We just walked out - something we have never had to do. We will never go back. Stay away!

The service was poor and non existent. We were sat down by the manager who was great, and served by a lady. It took a while to get served and we received no service during our meal. We ordered a bottle of wine along with two other drinks but this wasn't received until we asked for it, about 20 minutes later. We weren't asked how our food was or if we needed anything. We requested some condiments which were provided but still no mention of how the food was. We ordered a side of beef dripping mash which we thought was inedible. It tasted really foul, oily and the consistency and texture wasn't nice. It didn't look particularly appealing, and it was grainy and lumpy. The hand cut chips didn't seem cooked enough, they were hard and tasted like dirt. When our plates were collected we were asked if we would like dessert. The mash was put to one side in the dish it was presented in, hardly having been touched, and there was still no queries on whether our meal was OK. We had to mention the issue with the mash and chips and our overall bad experience. The waitress offered to ask the manager to come over, which we accepted. The managed came over and listened to our complaint and said he would remove the mash from the bill and said that isn't what they would expect of the mash, nor the level of service, which he was providing. We received our 'amended' bill which had items on there that we didn't even order. The waitress took the receipt over to the bar, where she had a laugh with the manager and another member of staff at the bar. They were all clearing laughing whilst having a look at the receipt we were given. We felt uncomfortable and felt as if we were being laughed at which is highly unprofessional. The waitress approached our table laughing again, still with no receipt. The manager then sat down another table and at this point we didn't have our receipt. We stood up and went to the bar where the waitress said not to leave and our receipt is coming. We paid the bill but overall we just aren't happy with the quality of food that we were served, considering you claim to serve the best steak in the city, and the service which was truly shocking.

I visited with my husband on Halloween and I can easily say this is the worst experience and meal we have received yet. The staff seemed polite to start with, until they started laughing at us behind the bar when we challenged our incorrect bill. They were trying to charge us for two additional starters that we had. We waited a really long time for our drinks order to be taken, and even longer to receive them. They forgot to give us our bottle of wine that we ordered, and when we requested it, they asked again what it was we wanted. The food also took a relatively long time to come, and we weren't asked how everything was throughout the meal. The chips were horrendous and raw, still being hard in the middle. They also had a really bad taste. The beef dripping mash was inedible and tasted oily and disgusting. The mac and cheese was OK, not the best but not the worst, noting that the 'beef' was mostly fat. The restaurant was quiet, with only 4 or 5 tables full. For a big restaurant and a small number of guests, I think the service should have been much better. I also think it's cheeky that a 10% service charge is added on to the bill, making you feel awkward for asking to remove it. We are in England, it is not an obligation to tip, and frankly we didn't want to after our meal and service was so bad. We also didn't get asked whether there were any dietary requirements, which I find quite poor. I understand it is the consumers responsibility to make the staff aware of allergies, but sometimes it is appreciated to be asked. I also couldn't see any allergen information on the menu. The complaints weren't dealt with effectively, and I strongly suggest reading all of the other reviews before deciding to visit this place. We definitely will not be back, but will be returning to the best steakhouse in Bristol, Pasture.

Egle was amazing with everything from the moment we walked in! She gave us a great table and helped us thoroughly with the menu and recommendations. I am a steak critic, and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest steaks I have ever had. I highly recommend this place to stake lovers. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Bristol!

Had a date night here , booked in advance but wasn't busy. Was taking pictures of the art and the waiter moved us to better seats so I could enjoy the art more lol. Food was good but pricey. Quick service asked to change my sauce with my steak and they did and didn't charge me which I appreciated. Lovely artistic atmosphere. Location wise is handy as it's close to town but away from the busy streets. They do NHS discount which was great 😃

Paid around £90 for the Tomahawk style sharer. Asked for the steak to be cooked to medium. Unfortunately, it was rare. Sides and drinks were really nice. Restaurant offered 10% off the bill, and the server was really nice. Unfortunately, for the price we paid, I wouldn't return to the restaurant.

Me and my Mum ordered a steak each and two sides. The beef mac and cheese was inedible…the ‘chunks of beef’ on top were either pure fat or had a strange taste. The dish was comparable to dog food! Tried my mums steak, which had a vinegary sort of taste to it. My steak came out blue when I had asked for medium and the reasoning was ‘it wasn’t rested long enough’ when in actual fact, it just wasn’t cooked anywhere near correctly. I had a new one cooked for me, which came out well done. By this point, my mum had almost finished hers, so I just ate what I had been given. They did offer a discount, hence the service stars, (we asked for a glass of Prosecco each instead). Came to over £100 and neither of us enjoyed our food, such a waste of money 😢 have been here a couple of times a number of years back and couldn’t fault it, but won’t be coming again

Excellent first experience at the Bristol location last night (Friday). Superb service from the waitress, Arina,, steaks were perfectly cooked and side dishes and deserts very tasty. Good selection on the children’s menu too. Great place to celebrate a family member’s birthday or a big event - or just enjoy great times with friends. Music level is great (you can perfectly have a conversation without having to raise your voice). 10% gratuity well deserved on this occasion. Good decor and display and everything was clean and tidy. 4.5/5 star overall. Will highly recommend.

Really enjoy coming here. Have returned on a few occasions and the food is consistently delicious. I would recommend the lunch menu which is a steak + side + sauce for £15 - can’t really go wrong with the value for money. Outdoor seating which is really nice , quiet atmosphere and chilled out vibes. Our server was Arina who was so accommodating and provided an amazing service. She made some really good recommendations including the cheesecake for dessert which was so yummy. Overall is always a delight to eat here and would definitely recommend.

We fell in love (ironically) with Steak of the Art on Valentines day this year when we came in for our first visit where we had an amazing meal and amazing service, so much so on exiting the restaurant I called the manager over to tell them how amazing our server was and how good the food was. We loved it so much that it was a no-brainer where we would go on my fiancee's birthday with our extended family. 2 of whom are massive fans of pasture which we also visited with them in March and spent the whole night telling them how much better SOA was. Although childish this started a bit of a weird family rivalry where we sung SOA praises while they defended pasture so I was expecting big things for the birthday visit.... Sadly, our visit last night was really not good at all. The restaurant was very quiet (which is not a massive problem) but after our visit I understand why.... There was a real lack of atmosphere from the start which was only exasperated by the music randomly turning off and the restaurant being in silence with about 12 covers! Despite being nowhere near what I would call busy our service was really poor..... The 2x soft drinks which were ordered (2 cokes I believe) were warm/room temperature seemingly poured straight from a bottle that hadn't been chilled. What made the poor service even more challenging was the staff seemingly had no dress code, so who worked there and who was a guest was a lottery, we even accidentally asked another patron if they worked there as a result! We were left unattended for long periods at a time and sat with dirty plates after our starters finished which weren't collected until our mains came... which took some time! (The honey beer bread which I raved about before this time was basically cold toast!) Myself and my fiancee ordered a tomahawk with Mac n Cheese and truffle fries..... the fries tasted like oven chips with a bit or parmesan thrown on top.... These remained virtually untouched. My biggest gripe, however, was the steak itself. Every steak ordered was massively over cooked. Our "medium" steak was very well done, as was the "medium well" and the well done fillet was incinerated! This made the steak chewy and dry so much so as it cooled down it was inedible! The cheese sauce barely tasted of cheese at all and my brother in law (the pasture fan) mocked me the whole way home, his jibes I sadly had to accept and agree with this time! There was also a £30 service charge added which we asked to be removed as the service was about a 3/10! I just feel that this is such a shame as this was for a special birthday occasion and we had such a positive first experience, so much so we were even planning on visiting the Cardiff branch when we are in the area for a concert in a few weeks time which we will now change our plans for. While our Valentines day visit was amazing I sadly don't think we will return and book either Pasture in advance or Mugshot next time we want a steak in Bristol.

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience going for dinner at Steak of the Art. We ordered a starter & then steak for mains. Our steak arrived before we’d finished our starter & felt rushed. Whilst we were waiting on our side dishes to go with the steaks, we were brought two starters that weren’t for us, and then had to wait almost 10 minutes for our side dishes to arrive. By that point, our steaks were cold. When we finished dinner & they brought the bill, they had charged us for an additional side that we didn’t order and charged us for an extra to our steak that we did order, but never arrived. When we asked to remove the service charge from the bill due to all the issues, they did not ask for feedback / what could have been improved etc. they just took it off, took payment & that was it. For how much this restaurant costs, we were thoroughly disappointed by the service & the food was average. We would not recommend.

To the people working in this kitchen, I would strongly recommend looking into other professions. Leather tanning or any other trade relating to tough materials would suit particularly well. As per eating here - life is too short. I also don't appreciate the insinuation that our group behaved inappropriately in any way in the establishment's reply.

Posted a review about our experience on Tripadvisor however got no response: Visited steak of the art for dinner on the 25th of February to celebrate a birthday. The food was good but for the price it was arguably not worth it. We were the only two in the restaurant and they alerted us they were closing the bar mid way through our meal. This wasn’t a huge issue. I then requested they take the service charge off because I wanted to pay it in cash. Our waiter did this and I left a £10 tip (more than the optional service charge). Before leaving we went to the bathroom, when coming out I overheard the waiters talking about us. They were swearing and saying that most people don’t leave tips when they say they will and that they didn’t think we would. This language continued for a few minutes before they realised we had not yet left. This was incredibly unprofessional behaviour and dampened what had been a very pleasant evening.

Arrived to find the only table left was a high table bench seats. Myself and husband struggled to get up we both have problems with our legs. I did say to the waiter we are going to struggle. This was booked a few weeks in advance. There were five of us. They took our order and asked if we wanted water for the table only 3 glasses so we asked for more glasses as I went to pour the water the glass had a really bad crack in it which would have cut my mouth. My husband ordered another drink which took ages to come he had to ask again. Only 3 sets of cutlery on the table had to ask for more. We 2 lots of starters to share we had to use same cutlery for the mains. The steaks were nice over priced. We have been a few times before but I think this will be our last. My husband and myself were not comfortable sitting at the table and struggled when getting up and down we would have been more comfortable standing up to eat. We did not pay the service charge because the service wasn't good and it wasn't that busy

This is a one star review for two reasons. The first on is they don't really know how to cook a medium-rare steak and when you send it back you get another one that is rare and cold in the middle. And that leads to the second reason. They give you a discount on your meal, but actually forget to take it off the bill. And blame it on a new chef. I wouldn't recommend this place if you wanted to eat nice steak. (Go to Pasture ;) )

The venue is really lovely, well decorated, and creates a nice atmosphere. This was my 3rd time visiting, as the food is usually lovely, however a bit on the expensive side for the portion sizes. all sides are to be ordered separately and are tiny in size for the price you pay. Great with allergies however, I am Coeliac and they were able to reassure me that my food is prepared and cooked separately from anything containing gluten. I would definitely visit more if the prices were a little more reasonable.

I booked a table for seven people at 8. When I made the booking, I asked if the food would be ready by 9.30, because we had a booking somewhere else. They assured us that the food would be ready way before that. We were there at 7.50 and sat down. They took the orders at 8.05. At 9.10 they hadn't brought out any dishes yet. I asked if it would take any longer, because we had to be somewhere else, and they said it would still take 35-40 more minutes to get the food. We had to leave without having eaten, and the restaurant wasn't that busy. We were very disappointed.

We had been looking forward to this meal for a long time, we ordered a sharing ribeye roast dinner, costing £110 between the two of us. For that price o obviously we were expecting something really special. We ordered the steak Medium, and it came out rare. The yorkshire puddings were almost burned. Roast potatoes were old and dry as a bone and for 55 quid each there wasn't a lot of anything apart from the undercooked steak. The steak was well seasoned and of good quality tho, and to be fair we didn't say anything at the time because my partner didn't want to make a fuss. But overall it was very underwhelming and just all felt a bit lazy and lacking in care. we did leave disappointed and with £165 pounds less in our pockets 😅 The drinks were good, and we liked the setting albeit a bit dark. Probably won't go back.

I visited Bristol for a weekend and visited many places but this one is very poorly managed (maybe consider change of whoever runs this). This 1 star goes to the management as there is a lot of things that needs to be improved in this place and has a knock off effect on everything else. Visited Sunday morning for breakfast, we made a booking for 10:30, the place was massively understaffed. Because of lack of staff, the waitresses and people making drinks were super busy and couldn’t keep up (definitely not their fault) but they couldn’t provide good customer service due to that. Our coffee drinks arrived about 20-25 mins after our food, and then I found out my coffee was not what I ordered. There was constant flow of people coming in. Bacon pancakes were good, service was slow. We finished food and then coffees arrived. My vegan waffles were pretty average but that wasn’t the issue. This place is very popular and it needs a lot more staff members - because of lack of staff, customers are not happy when mistakes happen and then obviously it affects waiters (I’m sure this place has high staff turnover, I wouldn’t want to work here). As seen on photo, my table and chair was an inch in front of the disabled toilet which I found very grim regardless if the toilet was in use or not. This table should be for one person only and not for two. None of the above is staff members fault, they are trying their best but this is the only food place in Bristol that needs heavy management changes as clearly it needs works. Sadly we will not be returning here. I highly recommend “be natural cafe” in the market hall, their breakfast was 1000% better.
