Had the fillet steak in sizzler. It was cooked nicely and tasted great. Service was outstanding. Just felt prices were a little dear, and some drinks were out of stock. Other than that a very good experience

We travelled a long way, called to move our reservation back half an hour, the person that answered couldn't understand we had a booking, and were wanting to delay as we were stuck in traffic. Turned up on time, but the entrance and stairwell smelt so strongly of urine, it turned your stomach. Went up anyway. Turned about, it was empty. Not like what was portrayed at all. Where are these reviews from?

The buffalo ribs was worth the price ,soft and tender,definitely visiting again

Really sorry, but being a "steak" place, the steak was shameful! Cold plate, meant cold steak, and the steak was very fatty, even the steak knife struggled to cut! On a positive note, the other people's food was genuinely good. Top tip, don't order steak.

We’ve just had an amazing dinner at Steak and Lounge, Abbey street Leics. It’s probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. All the food and drinks we ordered were so delicious and tasty. Blew my husband and myself away. The service was impeccable, the venue was classy and clean. Great value for money!

Worst food ever! Food was Expensive as hell. Stay away from this place if you don’t want to waste your money . For two person, it costed more than 50£. Also, they charge service charge which I don’t get for what reason when you offer pathetic food. They only have one waiter and one manager. On Friday, they have less customers which shows that how poor they are performing in terms of the customers.I believe they are just on the brink of complete shut down that’s why they are charging more and offering less quantity and tasteless food. At the end, it’s all about food and it was worst I had eaten here. I used to visit this place with my friend and family a year ago and food was good that time. This was my last time to visit this place. Will never visit this awful place.

If I could give 10 stars, I would very friendly and polite service. All staff are amazing and welcoming. And the food 🍱 and drinks 🍷 are on another level very tasty food. So far the best food in Leicester.

We were staying just outside Leicester for the weekend. I searched for best steak restaurant and went based on the other reviews. Got a cab in as I was looking forward to a couple of cocktails, a steak and a bottle of red. Normally I am designated driver. Arrived, entered through the ground floor entrance , which smelt strongly of toilet cleaner, tbh not a pleasant start. Walked upstairs, lift out of order... not impressed by the location at all. Was shown to table, past a family with a kid coughing profusely, who looked like they were waiting for a take away. There were 2 other tables seated. No atmosphere at all. Was offered drinks, non alcoholic only. Diet Coke was an unknown generic brand. Ordered a Mocktail which was ok. Starters ok. Mains ok - salad garnish was identical to starter.... simple , with generic dressing. I mean identical. Had to ask for more drinks, there was nobody in there. Waited for desert and waited some more. Then asked for desert menu "we have a cake thing and ice cream"....... "the cake is chocolate" Nothing like the photos, completely unprofessional. i asked for bill and left. Had a nice desert and a couple of cocktails back at the hotel. So disappointing all round. Nothing like the reviews, the pictures and the Instagram posts. I actually thought I was in wrong place. The decor looks like a cocktail lounge, as implied by the name... its not. The waiters were friendly. I honestly dont get it. Meeting my sons girlfriend for the first time, wanted something nice. I was actually embarrassed by the whole thing.

Good food, great service from the other staff. Just disappointed when we just sat down and a guy looking like a customer immediately took our order not even letting us rest after hours of walking around and got surprised when he mentioned he was the manager. We cant even decide what to eat because he somewhat like nagging us even hurrying us to order. Not so fine dinning experience.

not usually a review writer unless i want to warn people about bad food but i just have to write a review of this place because i was that blown away! the venue itself is like walking into a dubai 5* restaurant, the decor is fit for royalty, beautiful chandeliers big mirrors and a classy black and gold theme going on. we was greeted by the staff who are not in your face like some restaurants just wanting to get you in and out for the next customers, the staff are relaxed and very welcoming respecting your space but maintaining attentiveness throughout. so to the food....where do i start. for starters we ordered the bbq rib, dynamite prawns and pulled baobuns. i thought i miss read when it said "rib" as in one but i kid you not, this one rib was the size of my leg infact i believe it was possibly a dinosaur rib. the flavour and that bbq sauce was absolutely exquisite! the beef just fell off the bone and was juicy succulent and the sheer size of it got some mouths drooling on the instagram believe you me! onto the dynamite prawns....as i write this my mouth is watering. they are up at the very best prawns ive had. how they maintained the crispyness of the batter whilst covered in some sort of chilli sticky sauce is just complete wizardry! the baobuns again more than one could expect! the soft bun was not dry or brittle as ive had in some places but was just perfect accompanied by succulent pulled beef with afew added chilli slices onto to give it some heat!. onto the mains....i ordered the fillet steak and asked for spiced chips and peppercorn sauce. i asked for my steak to just have a little show of pink in it and to say they cooked it to perfection is an understatement. a lovely knob of garlic butter just melting away ontop. you also have the option of your steak coming out on a plate or on a hot iron grill. i went with the sizzling iron grill so everything was sizzling when it arrived. infact im going to go as far as saying this was the best steak ive had in leicester and certainly up at the top compared to anywhere else. the chips as requested came with some chilli seasoning sauce on top. it was not the same they had used on the starters which just shows they have variety and dont just use the same sauces on everything but clearly understand what sauces and seasonings accompany what dishes! absolutely blown away by this place. we was that full we had no room for desert but i most definitely will save some space for that next time we saw afew being dished out and they look very stylish. during the course of our meal the owner also took the time to great us. i have to say again how welcoming and engaging he was, You can clearly tell he is passionate about his restaurant and the food that is served and for him to engage with his customers certainly is a testament to the level of service he wishes to delivery and my god did he deliver!. an absolute 5 star rating this place needs to be definitely checked out!

So, the positives, the place is clean, well lit and the staff are friendly. The drinks were fab and it’s nice to go to a restaurant that does really good mocktails. The place is not disability friendly as it is upstairs, but that is no fault of theirs. Starters 4 people, 3 different starters, all really good. The ribs were absolutely fab! The mains 1 ribs as a main, really good no complaints. 3 different steaks, none particularly good. They are over seasoned, the fat was not well rendered and all 3 steaks, cooked medium/medium rare were really chewy. I feel that whilst the cook was ‘right’ there were issues with how they were cooked as it affected texture and flavour. All the sides were fine though. For the cost of the meal, I was disappointed with the cook of the steak, but it was certainly an experience.

This place was ok. I visited here with a friend on an evening and felt the entrance was a little shady, the entrance is narrow and the actual restaurant is upstairs. Once we got to the main restaurant it was ok. The place was fairly quiet and we were seated quickly. The service was ok. We opted for steak and chips. The steak is served with a side and sauce of your choice. I ordered a fillet medium rare and it was done on the rare side but tasted ok. The sauce unfortunately tasted out of a packet, I wasn't a fan. The chips were quite good. I also got a lychee mocktail which was decent. I will perhaps return to try other foods on the menu. Parking is available in the NCP opposite. Bill came to approx £50ph and they also add in a service charge

Great food! For starters beef ribs and dynamite prawns are amazing! Steak was tasty. I just don’t like the stairs leading to the first floor where the restaurant is located. There’s always a horrible smell.

Delicious, well presented dishes and mocktails and top notch service!! We visited for iftaar and were given complimentary dates and fruit to break our fast. The host ensured our food arrived speedily and all our needs were catered to. We ordered the dynamite prawns, crispy prawns, wings, bbq ribs and chicken parmesan, original sliders and sirloin for mains! Every dish was cooked to perfection 👌

I was really craving steak and came across this restaurant on google maps. I was reluctant due to the mixed reviews plus the cost of steaks but decided to go anyways. The staff were the most attentive I have ever seen and so easy to reach out to, we ordered the fillet steak and an extra side of mash as well as the dynamite shrimp. The steak was cooked to perfection and was very tasty, the dynamite shrimp was good and the mash was fine. Our bill came out to 78£. Overall, I would return for the steak Other pros apart from the amazing staff and tasty food was the availability of parking for a cheap cost of 1-2 pounds. Drawback is that you have to go upstairs which is not ideal with a pram, the waiter was happy to help us lift it up and down the stairs

We went to celebrate my birthday. Mohammed was really kind and helpful he simply couldn't do enough to make our evening as memorable as possible.. Our steaks were cooked to perfection just how we had asked for. In the end also surprised me with a cake. Which was really nice. Definitely going back again. Thank you for the great service.

Really disappointed with the entire experience. Food was not good at all and the BBQ sauce was an absolute disgrace.The place looked very dirty and had a disgusting smell as soon as we entered. We came all the way from London and it was an absolute waste of money & time.

Very nice staff and atmosphere. But the food was trash sorry to say. To spend £50+ for two of us and to receive 2 burgers worse than you would get from Maryland. Madness. I feel like they was just two burgers straight out the freezer. Absolute waste of money. Not sure if the other food is any better but I will not be going again.

Didn't end up staying. It looked incredibly sketchy from the outside, but we decided to try it anyway. When we sat down, we were the only couple in the restaurant, and we were ignored for about 15 minutes. Finally, they came to take our drink order, and when we realized they didn't serve alcohol, I asked for a coke. It was explained to us they do not sell name brand drinks, and sell the off brand, imported stuff for £2(even though the menu clearly says they do server Sprite. They, in fact, do not). I was about to just ask for a water when the server INSISTED we HAD to have one of their famous mocktails for £6.50. We politely said no, 3 times, but he insisted we had to have one. My husband then explained we would not be paying that for a glass of juice. We decided to promptly leave due to the server being incredibly pushy.

I had dinner here last night . Amazing food. The taste and quantity was too good. Atmosphere of the restaurant is great as well. Staff was very polite. The place gets busy really quickly (no surprises). I highly recommend their sliders 🤤

Visited early on a weekday evening. Restaurant was very quiet. Ordered a T-bone and a fillet steak. Found the steaks to be small in size. Around 8oz for the fillet and 13oz for the T-bone. Steaks were cold. Served with what looked like cheap frozen chips and a side salad that consisted of half a cherry tomato, half a slice of cucumber, a couple of slices of peppers and a small amount of coleslaw. At nearly £30 for each meal I thought it wasn’t great value. Wouldn’t go again.

Deceived by the pictures & 5-star review comments. (If their online presentation matched the actual quality of the restaurant, I could hqve given 2 stars.) Quite different from what we had imagined it (“Steak house”) to be (the gap between the images they present as a “Steak house” and the reality was so big, which resulted in this feeling of disappointment) I should have listened to my instinct before entering the restaurant. (You will see what I mean..) The host was super hospitable though (asking for us to give them a high review after the dinner lol). I feel guilty to write this honest review (added: not anymore)… but I don’t want anyone else to go through this same disappointing experience. Table surface was very oily. They charged 9,00 GBP service charge. The lessons learned: Being truthful and discerning truth are the abilities/quality we have to cultivate.

Service was very good! The waiter was helpful and took note of dietary requirements, I ordered the filet mignon which was very nice and cooked to perfection, plating could’ve been better but all in all was an enjoyable dinner and the mocktail was superb.

The worst food I’ve ever had , I ordered galic bread with cheese and the bread was not even cooked properly and the seabass was so oily , after i had garlic bread i had stomach pain my stomach started bloating omg

Got there around 9pm and place was empty so seating wasn't a problem and service was on point. First set of cutlery was unclean which they changed straight away. Meal came and Steak was cooked perfectly however, tge sizzler platter it was served on wasn't hot enough so onions lining it were still raw when i got to them, mash was definitely instant, and I really wish that restaurants like this would stop using bought in frozen chips 😩. All in all meal was ok and we finished our plates (as we had paid for it after all) paid our bill and left, only to find a 10% service charge on the bill when we got home! If you are going to add that to the bill you need to make it clear before adding it. There was no warning anywhere and nothing was said to me before the card machine was put under my nose.

Food took ages to make even though the restaurant only had about one other customer in. Parking was only partially paid for (reduced by £2) and randomly added service fee of £12 at the end of the bill which never use to be here the last time we came. Asked for a jug of water but was declined and asked to buy overpriced still water. Steak was good but did have quite a lot of fat on it that was just not edible. Prayer room was good, food was average.

The worst experience ever. The images they are trying to sell on internet do not match how this restaurant is in reality, left us feeling deceived. We were turned off even more when the host asked us after the dinner to give them a good review on platforms like this. (He's been trying his best to appear very friendly throughout, which was painful to watch..) The food was below average, especially when you expected to get what you had been shown on internet. I hope they are going to correct their business attitude overall.

I was looking for a place to have my Christmas dinner with my friends when i stumbled upon this restaurant. It has a great friendly environment with a homely vibe. The manager and the staffs were very welcomeing and the food was exquisite. I tried crispy prawns as a starter and it was mouth watering. I highly recommend the Bao Buns with ribs. It was just great. I'm really looking forward to go back for the new year.

My sister recommended the place and she was going on and on about how good the food here was. And god bless her she was right. The food was great. I had dynamite chicken as a starter and it was soo good. The sirloin steak just made my night. The management and the staff were all very friendly and cheerful. I was on the last leg of my 16-hour journey from Austria to Nottingham and had to wait 90 minutes in Leicester Coach station. Even though this restaurant, which was across the road, was closed for a private party and the owner was clearly very busy he offered me a table in the corner where I could recharge my laptop and enjoy a delicious chicken burger and salad. I was very grateful and appreciative of the service. The guy has got a big heart. I will come again.

The manager tried his best to help me place an order due to technical issues with the system; however, in his absence, his staff were unwilling to listen and rudely continued hanging up the phone after calling back three times.

Don’t be fooled by appearances. This restaurant iso. The first floor and so doesn’t have curb appeal however, the staff are gracious and welcoming. It is an alcohol free restaurant.

Have no idea how this establishment got such good reviews. Sides were good but mains were just godawfull when you take into account the high price. No depth of flavour or any natural meat tastes brought out by spices. Steak was bland and it more or less tasted like it was warmed up and then had salt and spices loaded on after cooking. Grilled chicken was dry and had a gone off taste to it. When I challenged the waiter about the food he said it was because we didn't order it on a sizzler plate which made absolutely no sense. Sides and sauces were delicious. Starters were ok but was very disappointed with my BBQ rib starter which tasted like it was boiled for 24 hours with a ton of BBQ sauce added in after. Wings were good but nothing you can get for a far lower price at Pepe's. This place is a joke. Avoid it. £90 gone down the drain. Avoid avoid avoid.

Friendly restaurant with really good fresh food. Very good customer service. Starter plate with selection of seafood and meat options with fusion of spicy choices. Definitely recommend and worth thr travel. I hear they are branching up in Milton Keynes soon. Special: family restaurent

Absolutely amazing. Came here for my birthday dinner, I was anxious however they didn’t disappoint. The ribeye was spectacular and the mash was stupendous. Servers were excellent and they gave a little cake to me for a treat.

The fillet steak was cooked to perfection, I had to compliment the chef myself on his cooking as it was superb. Would highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food but it has a great atmosphere and great staff.

The food was fantastic. I had the fish and it came with a sauce that it did not even need. They also have a kids menu so it’s very family friendly. Maybe not handicap friendly because you do need to go upstairs and I did not see a lift. Bathrooms were clean. My only issue is we weren’t told until the end of our meal that their card reader wasn’t working and we needed to pay cash. They did have an ATM downstairs which didn’t charge a fee so I don’t think it was too sketchy. Other than that, food was really good. Highly recommend

My partner and I visited this Saturday. Ordered a ribeye and also a flaming hot beef burger. I was very disappointed with the quality vs the price. Steak was incredibly thin and not seasoned well. Mash tasted like they use instant mash. The worst part was the burger. Clearly a frozen patty, grilled. Remained pink in the middle and cold. On top Of that the meat tasted off. My partner had a bad stomach very soon after eating the burger. For a total price of £60 I think this place is a complete rip off for the quality. They are clearly cutting costs by using instant mash and old meat, frozen! I’m not the only one, at prime dinner time on a Saturday the restaurant was almost empty. Will never go back and highly recommend to restaurant owners to Seriously rethink what they are doing here. You need new management, chef and kitchen staff. Thank god my partner wasn’t seriously ill after.

Overall the experience was ok however the steak came out a little cold and I think the quality of the meat could be a little better. The starters were good and no complaints from the service.

Food was really good. Was craving a good steak and the filet did not disappoint. Staff were attentive if a bit confused about the menu. The music was a little too loud and the songs contained swear words so I wouldn’t take my family here.

Sadly quite a disappointing experience, I ordered the t-bone asking for medium rare, but it was over cooked and had no real taste.

We live in Loughborough and were looking for a steakhouse in either Leicester or Nottingham that weren’t the big places like Miller & Carter etc. After googling and looking at menus we decided on here and I’m so pleased we did! It was amazing!!! We visited on Thursday, the weather was terrible (flood warnings) but the restaurant was warm. We had great service, a young girl waitress (we didn’t get her name) was fantastic and really nice to us both. I am a hospitality manager which means I sometimes end up in work mode when I go out to eat 😭 but definitely didn’t here. They were all very attentive. The food was absolutely amazing, we had starters are they were absolutely delicious. The steaks were divine, I had a fillet and my fiancé had a T-bone. Both were perfect. I even loved the salad dressing! We will definitely be coming back. The free parking is also a great touch. The card machines were down when we visited but a short walk down the stairs led us to a card machine. Overall, we had an amazing date night and I’ve been raving to all of my friends!
