Station Hotel Hither Green in Lewisham

As a local resident and regular customer, I chose to visit the pub specifically to try the non-alcoholic drink, Pentire, which is listed as available at your establishment. Upon entering, I approached a staff member, who had long hair and a mustache, to inquire about the drink. Initially, he informed me that it was unavailable, but then he confirmed that it was indeed in stock. When I asked how it was typically served, he suggested a summer spritz. However, shortly after, he returned to inform me that he couldn’t process the order, leaving me confused and frustrated. Ultimately, I felt disheartened by the experience and left without being able to try the beverage I was excited about. I went in on my own to celebrate an important milestone and left feeling disappointed.

Took some Mexican friends to try a Sunday roast and they were blown away. Food was delicious, the pork was outstanding with amazing crackling and great service. We will definitely be coming back soon

I had lunch with wife and friends. Food was very disappointing. No stake. Or Soup for staters. So we had Haddock was over cooked, Bill was £160 so not an enjoyable experience Only good thing was staff excellent as always. I won't be eating there again.

I had a good experience at this restaurant recently. The service was efficient and friendly, which made the meal more enjoyable. The food was tasty - well-prepared and flavorful. I appreciated the wine selection, which paired nicely with our dishes. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. If you're looking for a reliable spot for a nice meal out, this place is worth trying. I'd be happy to go back.

Love this place they are all so friendly and professional and there ma anger is always on hand s very pleasant happy chap , there du day lunches are fabulous I have had the chicken previously which was moist , but last weekend I had the courgette and tofu tart served with the amazing peas and leeks Keep up the great service see you soon . Was in London for business and couldn’t have stayed in a more convenient hotel. A stones throw away from the station and the room, finished to a very high standard catering for all my needs. Well done Station will definitely be back!

So, I always walk out of here smiling , despite any issues because the staff are great! Thanks for your response to the previous, which is what makes us return. Lovely atmosphere on Friday (7ish) and noticeably a few babies - no issues with pram traffic! Shortage of staff (loooong waiting times for food) was managed well by your staff so please help them to do their job! Food: my only gripe is that the battered fish and triple cooked chips was too crispy/more crunch than potato/fish.

Took the family for a brunch, service was prompt, staff were friendly and helpful. The food was cooked really well, beautiful cup of coffee. We will come back again soon. Thank you :)

The female members of staff that served us were amazing from beginning to end/throughout. My issue with today; haven’t ever had to say this since coming to the Station for Sunday dinners especially, the guy who is allegedly the manager. Please take note, we come out to eat because we want to chill and don’t want to cook: please stop rushing around like a bull in a china shop, creating a very tense atmosphere. Next time, why not just throw the food and drinks as us, which is practically what the service was: very detached, loud and unfriendly! Sorry, that’s my view and we will be back because it’s our local and go to place. But the manger must do better.

Such a lovely pub, always great and a good place to work in the day as well. I love how welcome everyone is, from families and kids to locals.

I brought my mum along to this lovely looking pub to meet up with some friends she had not seen for some time. Oh how disappointed we were with our food. The service was was fine, and our drinks arrived in good time. The problem was with our meals, Sausage and mash, and Chicken leek and ham pie and mash. We did not expect to be served what tasted and looked like SMASH powdered potato with unmixed powdery lumps in! The pie was all pastry which I will say was nice but, with very little filling did not find any ham. When mentioning the potato to the waiter when collecting the plates he just muttered sorry and walked away. Over all was a very disappointing experience. I will say the others in the group had no complaints about their food. But in my humble opinion to be served what I would consider an ultra processed food on this type of establishment is totaly unacceptable.

I posted a review back in March which detailed the poor Sunday Lunch experience I had with family and friends. The general management responded that we should try again as they are intent on putting things right. Sadly, they haven’t. My family and friends went to eat this evening after the Marathon. The food orders (mains and 1 starter) were made, but an hour later nothing had arrived and only one drinks order had been taken during that time. The food was chased and shortly afterwards appeared. I had already eaten so didn’t order. The 2 roast beef dinners were ridiculous. Once again, the potatoes (although each plate only had 3 sections of potato on them) were yet again massively undercooked and the gravy like water. Exactly the same as last time. Both had to be returned uneaten. Added to this appallingly late service and inedible food, the pub had also run out of most ales and bitters, which is unbelievable for a pub and brewery of that size. The waiting staff were incredibly apologetic and gave the impression that these were not new issues. However once again the manager did not bother to come over and speak with us, as was the case last month. It’s incredibly unprofessional to leave the team members to deal with such problems. On a final note, I am unfortunately someone who has to use the disabled toilet. When I went in there was no toilet paper at all. I informed one of the bar/waiting staff and was told that this would be rectified immediately. By the time I left it hadn’t. This is simply unacceptable. I have used the pub many, many times over many years, but it seems to be going down the pan and there seems to be an air of indifference to previous and current complaints. As the issues are now more than just the food, I won’t be going back. It’s a real shame.

Heather made our dinner such a great experience simply because she was so nice, always was aware if we needed anything and made us feel at home. 5 stars for Heather 😁 … the food was also decent.

As a family with three small children we were made to feel very welcome and given a great table with plenty of space for the children. Food was tasty and the kids loved their fish & chips. Our dairy allergy was well catered for and caused no issues. It was a great atmosphere and very pleasant surroundings.

Have been for Sunday lunch there many times and the food has always been great. Not yesterday unfortunately. The waiter insisted on taking all 6 of our orders from memory rather than taking a note, and as he walked off I said that it was a certainty that he would miss something. He did. All of the side orders, which we eventually had to cancel as we were mid way through mains and still no sign. My roast was not great at all. The potatoes were hard and undercooked, the Yorkshire puddings were like sponge and the gravy like water. Really really disappointing. I told the waiter how unimpressed I was and he did give us a round of drinks on the house. It’s a real shame especially as the food is not cheap either.

Truly terrible roast. The beef was inedible. The gravy was watery and the potatoes were so pale and anemic that I doubt they had seen an oven let alone beef drippings. The worst roast I’ve ever had and truly disappointing

I booked the ‘semi-private space with capacity up to 20 people’ for 20 people for my birthday. The picture on the website for this space is of the Signal Box room (slightly separated from the pub). I had this booking confirmed via email. When I arrived we were told our space was tables within the restaurant. I showed the staff my booking confirmation for a private space and expressed that I was disappointed as this was not what I booked and we were not eating. There was another party within the Signal Box so it had clearly been double booked. The staff did not offer any apology or explanation which was very disappointing so we had no choice but to sit in the restaurant. Whilst I understand that mistakes in booking can be made I thought this was poorly handled by staff as I would have preferred they apologised for this mistake.

We arrived at 10am on Sunday February 18th. We were about to catch a train to the Midlands and had decided to have a breakfast before travelling. We were told that serving breakfast finished at 10am. We have frequently had breakfasts here on a Sunday and were not aware there had been a change. As a business it seems a poor decision.

Very good service. There was a timing mistake with the food arrival , but the manager was quick to apologise and sort out the problem and offering us a few drinks , The food was good and tasty . Only problem was one of group is gluten intolerant but there was only steak and then ice cream for her to eat. Can a few gluten free dishes be added please.

It has been hit and miss for me for quite a while in the station pub, I have drank in there for 40years so am disappointed as it is my local. The pub is unkempt the sofa which we were asked to keep our dogs away from is disgusting.. and today I went to the toilets and not a single piece of toilet tissue in sight and when the tissue was put in there it was just put on the side where there are not proper toilet tissue holders, I find this awful..infection control right out the window. For the price we pay for drinks i would expect you can afford decent toilet roll holders. I have spoken to last manager with no signs of improvement. We came in today to eat as well, but changed our minds, i feel staff should have some kind of uniform I do not want to keep going else where as it is my local and I have always liked it in there. I love the Station Hotel. Repeat booking. They are welcoming and the room is lovely in a pretty bit of SE London. They do roasts all day on Sunday. We went at 5:30pm. The service was good and the ambience lovely. My only issue was that on the latest visit the food wasn’t hot. My beef was lukewarm warm. Even the roast potatoes were luke warm warm so I imagine it had been ready to serve 10 minutes earlier.

we had booked a table of four to watch the football. I had downloaded the app prior to attending, but for some reason it would not accept my credit card. Fortunately it accepted my husbands. Teething problems re ordering food and drink as you have to go through the list of items to find what you want. One of the staff did come over and help with the food order. Not a good system at all.there were issues with the Wifi and eventually in the second half - England v Germany everything went and those left in the pub resorted to watching on their phones. We were told we could stay however, there was little point as they could not serve food, drinks or accept payment as all systems had gone down. This also affected the hotel. Fortunately we are local and were able to get home in time to see England score the 2 goals.Lessons to learn - the pub need to have systems in place for such events as this. Having been closed for so long due to Covid, the money they could have made from the football, Tennis etc. has been lost.

Just want to say thank you to all the staff at this lovely hotel which has been refurbished to a very high standard, my friend and I really enjoyed our stay, the bed is so comfortable, the room was just the right size for us and spotlessly clean with an amazing shower and bathroom and very quiet, we had a fan which was ideal given it was extremely hot weather, a nice coffee machine and large bottle of complimentary water was a nice touch too, breakfast was amazing I asked for extra poached eggs which I got, and a lovely vegetarian/vegan brekky for my friend, parking was on the street which was payable online for only two hours free after that , which was easy to do with the help from staff (not technology savvy) close to the station, we were doing trips down memory lane so walked a lot everywhere is accessible by local transport anyway not that we used it, thank you Becky (manager/owner)you are lovely and look forward to staying again.. soon
