Starbucks Coypool Plymouth in Plymouth

We’ve been here a few times for a “quick coffee” and it’s always a bad experience. Usually I wouldn’t write a review but today we visited and the same bad service happened again. Loads of staff working & chatting behind tills, took no notice of us when we were waiting to be served. It was pretty empty at this point. It seems they’ve hired copious amounts of staff, so we couldn’t quite understand why the service was so slow. we ordered a croissant to go and waiting 5 minutes for someone to grab the croissant out of the front container. We asked two times for the croissant and rather than the staff going to get it, they would speak into their headsets… waiting for someone else to get it. Staff were miserable and slammed a plate down with it once they could be bothered to serve. Honestly worst Starbucks I’ve been to (a judgement I’ve made after multiple visits).

Go to mutley plain instead of going here is my advice. The toffee nut cold brew tasted like the water from washing out the expresso machine. There was barely ice in my freshly made frappuccino. And bizarrely when I asked if I could get my panini cut in half so I could eat it there was no way to accommodate that and no cutlery. Love Starbucks in general but this specific location is rubbish and does the franchise no justice.

I come here at least once a week on my way to work, sometimes with a colleague. The staff are always friendly, I tend to order on the app and pick it up in the shop because I hate to be the awkward customer who has their drink a certain way! 😂 always so clean, cannot fault cleanliness! Comfortable sitting area too. Great overall :)

Never been a fan of Starbucks. But this place is on a retail park without anywhere good to rest and snack. As driver, had time to kill while others shopped and browsed. Having to sit and wait in a car out here is worse than soulless. Took the dog and the crossword into Starbucks. They still had some half decent pastries left and were making little doggie mix tubs. Server seemed genuinely friendly and helpful without scripted phrases. Coffee was OK. No tricky inter-dog tensions. The cafe is big enough not to feel oppressive. Passed about half an hour without problems. Wouldn’t come back just to come in here but on the day it served it’s purpose well enough.
