Starbucks in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Grabbed a coffee on my way into Truro and stopped again for another on my way back past. Received a £100 parking fine for returning to the car park within 3 hours

My dad and I visited Starbucks on the way to the hospital to support my disabled brother having life threatening surgery. We arrived before it opened, had a coffee, and left within 35 mins. We have just received a £100 fine!!! Utterly disgusting!!! We saw no signs warning of fines.

This is a good Starbucks, lots of parking, friendly staff and the drinks are made on point, would recommend.

I had a rare child free day and lots of work to catch up on. I thought I would get out of the house and went and paid an excessive amount for green tea, a panini and some cake whilst I did some work on my laptop. Many other people were doing the same. There is no clear signage or anything on the door when entering the building yet today I received a parking fine for £100. Thanks so much starbucks. I will never return. It's a terrible way to treat paying customers.

Monday afternoon and no ice written on a note on the front door, can you not go out and get some? Who wants a warm drink on a hot day? Lazy.

Clean and tidy, staff just do the bare minimum - no hello, please, or thank you; a typical British Starbucks really

This Starbucks is situated at a busy interchange. The franchise holders have recently changed to a more professional company. Modest cosmetic changes have been made to improve the experience, but the future is uncertain due to major works on the A30, hence the facilities not being upgraded to city or major branch standards…that’s a pity as it is and always will be a busy spot. What makes it , is the staff. Despite the proper investments in equipment not being made or recruitment of staff, the staff overcome daily failures and problems to provide excellent service. They are hard working, friendly and coping with problems not their fault….Grumpy travellers have a little understanding, we regulars do.

Five staff staring at the till. Three customers waiting for the order they had paid for. No-one actually making coffee. Barista scratching her hair - God knows what goes on behind the scenes with food hygiene etc. Coffee bitter and tepid. Cup not even put on the saucer straight. Surely it;s not that hard, is it?

The staff are so friendly and polite here! Drinks were really nice as well! Thank you to the ladies who served us :) ......

Stopped for coffee. However it was closed so made a couple of business calls and left 35 minutes later. Got a parking charge for £100 from Parking Eye for the privilege. Absolute rip off. Will not be paying ludicrous fine

Just visited this morning and ordered coffee and some fruit toast. Upon finding that one of the two coffees poured was half full and pointing this out the member of staff topped it up but said absolutely nothing by way of an apology. To add to it the fruit toast was received with no knife, butter or jam. If it was my restaurant I would sack the member of staff on the spot. This restaurant used to be good but is now terrible. Wont be going back in a hurry.

Arranged to meet wife at Starbucks when she got a lift back to Cornwall after trip to France last Sunday Due to delays at Toulouse and particularly Bristol Airports, caused by storm Ciara, arranged to meet as planned, but it would be around 4.00 AM. Arrived as Starbucks to find whole site in darkness so just pulled into first space at entrance and eventually wife turned up just after 4.00 AM. Total time parked on dark, empty car park. 35 minutes Charge demand arrived from Parking Eye for a totally extortionate £100.00 - to send the notification- the reason presumably being that the car park is for Starbucks customers only and because they were closed I couldn't be a customer. Starbucks could stop any repeat of such events by installing a barrier, gates or even a 'No Parking when Closed' sign (like many other outlets seem able to do) but despite many notifications of the disgraceful activities of Parking Eye and innumerable complaints here and on other reviewing sites, it seems that Starbucks are content to happily absorb the bad reputation. Could it be that they are actually complicit in the fleecing of naive users, and are using their car park 'traps' as a hidden, regular income stream? I wonder if the'll respond to this review, as they don't seem to do so for any others

Just don’t bother. From start to finish this place is terrible, there are far far better places to go!

There are far better places to go for a coffee. This place is filthy, not cleaned, cups left on the tables, tables not wiped down, horrible tasting coffee, milk containers not replenished, very uninspiring not maintained service area, and when you get home you’ll have a parking ticket waiting for you on your mat which staff won’t care about. Hopefully this place will be bulldozed when they build the new A30 dual carriageway through this section. Go elsewhere!

Visited with a friend and found it to be shut so had a catch up in the car park. A few days later we both get £100 fine - it wasn’t even open and the letter says we cannot exceed 0 minutes waiting time. How does that work. Never again and should be illegal, how many have us have done the same thing totally inocently. Awful and so upset.

I bring james in at least twice a week, james is an adult with quite severe autism and the staff particularly sharon and Chris are amazing. They make such an effort to engage with james, even learning some sign language to communicate better, they treat him with respect and go out of their way to make him feel part of the starbucks community. They even save bottle lids for him which I know is an effort as James has a love for bottle lids and they present him with them every time he arrives. James loves his visits here they are the highlight of his week and I have to praise the kindness of sharon and Chris who go out of their way for him, even finding little jobs for him to do... it's a wonderful place... even the coffee is good :) Thank you sharon and Chris , much respect to you both for going above and beyond your job description, you don't meet people like these every day. Totally shocked at standard of cleanliness especially in the toilet one of worst I've seen in an establishement especially one that serves food and beverages.

We stopped for a quick drink on our way and I have to say from the outside I wasn’t very impressed but once we were inside and being served, my opinion soon changed. I was greeted with a friendly welcome and offered a cup of tap water in place of the warm bottles on offer. The drinks were made promptly and with a smile and when my mother in law mentioned in passing to me that she’d forgotten to order her iced coffee with only one shot, the lady making the drinks overheard and offered to make her a fresh drink. It’s the little things, but we came away feeling like we had been put first. Well done Starbucks on such great customer service.

This was a great coffee very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable. Would recommend.

Small car park with tight spaces. Staff are friendly and smiley. Paid £2.90 for a small iced coffee which was 70% ice cubes. Rip off. The loos are absolutely filthy. Really really not clean at all! The toilet roll holder was broken and didn’t dispense loo roll properly with old empty loo rolls jammed in there too. Some of the toilets had large visible stains and deposits of human excretions left on them. Obvious that they hadn’t been checked for hours. The floor was disgusting. Really grimy in the corners and generally unclean overall. I’m usually fairly easy going but this was utterly below my level of what is acceptable. Another random customer walked out bitterly complaining too. Desperately needs a refurb and a bloomin’ good scrub!

I'm always in and out of "Chivvy Starbucks" for work meetings or if I need somewhere to work outside of the office. I forget the chaps name, whom may appear slightly odd to out of County folk but he always makes customers laugh - credit to him!

Lovely parking ticket came in the post today. We were told we were fine to stay as long as we like as long as we were gave our registration numbers which we did!!!!!

Avoid the carpark !.. Parking Eye are watching you !.. Sat drinking takeaway coffee in vehicle 40mins after they closed and ended up with a £100 fine !! Best to avoid, coffee was VERY EXPENSIVE!

We called in for drinks to take away, not somewhere we would normally visit but after a cold walk was what we needed. Fairly busy, staff were not helpful when my partner asked about a certain drink they answered him but it was not done in the correct manner it was almost like he shouldn't of asked.

Staff were lovely and friendly, just a shame the site is so dated and in need of a good clean. Baby changing area was filthy . Real shame wouldn’t come back again .

Went for coffee with a friend read parking signs & thought you only got charged after 3 hours, left after 2 hours 45 minutes thinking I was within the time limit. Received a £60 parking fine on Xmas eve turns out it was 2 hours. Won’t be visiting again.

Tried the Christmas Brulee latte and loved it + the younger male staff member was exceptionally kind n greeted us with the sweetest smile ! Thank u :))

Popped in to try the seasonal drinks. One Maple Latte and one Pumpkin spiced Latte. Sadly both flavours were lacking. Overpriced coffee that did not live up to expectations.

This road stop at Chivvy roundabout didn’t have any oat milk - really threw me as I love oat with my flat white 😐

The staff tried to charge me for a cup I already owned and then got my order wrong. I was given a sarcastic comment upon leaving and staff were laughing at me (a customer) as I left. Fortunately I make good money and all they can do is... well they can’t even do that.

The coffee is obviously predictable: overpriced and same as everywhere else and the food also. The environment here is not particularly comfortable or private. However, the convenience of the location for catch ups with people in different parts of the county or for business meetings is undeniable. This used to be a frequent business people's catch up, however the parking mafia now employed by the company will ensure that this will be a very expensive coffee and so many people have been caught out that visitors must beware.

Pulled in to get a coffee found it was closed just after 8pm ten days later got a fine for £100 !!!!! Only stayed long enough to Google another coffee stop all not EVER BE RETURNING TO A STARBUCKS

Visiting on holiday and in need of caffeine. Used to live in the area and remembered this Starbucks. Staff there were really friendly and we were happy with our coffee! No complaints!

I was driving my 1 year-old son around at night in order to get him to sleep and parked here for a short while in the early hours of the morning. A couple of days latter I got a £100 parking charge notice in the post. It turns out there is some small print on un-illuminated signs saying no parking outside certain hours.

Just as you'd expect from your average Starbucks but made so much better by the team who were really friendly. Well done!

Went to a breakfast meeting, never been here before and didn’t know that if you stayed ove 2 hours you get fined £100 ! Will not be returning.

Not one for chain restaurants we only stopped here for the loo really but the coffee, service & general cleanliness was ... pretty good.

Always good quality drinks. The service suffers from not enough staff. It is a busy pit stop by a big route centre. There are two filling stations a short walk away so plenty of reason for people to break their journey here.

This Starbucks is convenient for those wanting a break from driving the A30, or if you are heading to, or from the Royal Cornwall Hospital. It's just off a roundabout by a petrol station. It's not huge, used to be the out-of-town Burger King, but it's large enough, comfortable seating one end, more standard tables and chairs at the other. The place is clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. It's very popular with business people who want to meet away from the office, probably from the nearby Threemilestone business park, and with police patrol officers from what we could see. There's a reasonably sized car park outside. Starbucks is not cheap, but the coffee was very good, and the heated sandwiches surprisingly so.

Husband is a committed Costa user bit the staff and services here just made him rethink his opinion of star bucks. Very helpful and chatty whilst remaining efficient. Excellent customer service.

Ok atmosphere, good place for business meeting, slow service. Fined £100 reduced to £60 for overstaying in the car park due to business meeting over running. Totally disproportionate and a complete rip off. Not a way to treat paying customers! I will never use Starbucks again.

Went for a business meeting here on the 6th of June, no clear signage regarding parking. First I knew about was a letter from the dreaded Parking Eye a few weeks later. Really disappointed and won't be visiting again.

Starbucks are scarce in Devon & Cornwall, so this franchise is very welcome. It’s well placed off the A30/A390 Truro roundabout. Free car park. Quite big inside. Free WiFi. Seems popular and a meeting place for many. Wish there were more.

We visited while meeting a friend... nice surroundings, good service and the usual high quality coffee

On previous visits we have been impressed by the friendly welcome, efficient service and cleanliness. Unfortunately on this occasion it scored badly on all these aspects. One of the female serving staff was cheerful, friendly and efficient, but she stood out. The wait for service was very long. The tables groaned with dirty plates and we cleared and cleaned one ourselves so that we could use it. The sandwich was over-priced and if we hadn't have been very hungry we would have abandoned it after the first mouthful. The lemon cake was good. Our view - best avoided.

I'm odd. I love coffee, but I've never been to a Starbucks or any of the chain coffee shops, other than Costa at a service station. I've bought the Starbucks beans from a supermarket and they have been quite nice, so why on earth did I have one of the worst coffees I've ever had there? It was weak and massively overpriced. The furniture was pretty badly worn, the parking spaces too small for a decent size car and the main clientele seemed to be hipsters, something that annoys me on sight. The only good thing for it was the muffin was really nice, but I would expect at least a half decent coffee when that is their business.

Stayed here for a while chatting over coffee the tables are dirty and no one to clean them the toilets are disgusting, filthy dirty and smelly, a health hazard I should think - really not a good place to eat - I certainly will not bother again because if the safe use hear toilets and don't bother to get them cleaned then what are they like when preparing food

Floor dirty in restaurant. Bits of Loo roll on floor outside loo. Toilet floor wet and no loo roll. Overall looked like place needed a good clean. Fruit bread was nice though and tea ok but milk jug empty.

We went for coffee the tables were dirty and the floor we had to wait a long time and then they got the drinks wrong also no toilet paper in the ladies . We won't be going there again .

Arrived 10.45am. Busy little cafe that must make plenty of money yet two out of the three ladies toilets out of order and the remaining one had a faulty door lock. Hand drier also out of order.

This place is regularly busy and can be quite noisy and expensive if you intend to have something to eat, there is no proper meals but mainly toasties or pannini's snacks really. The staff are very friendly and always very helpful.

Yes you get Starbucks Coffee, but the environment at this location is to my mind a bit dark and somewhat off putting.

Terrible flat white, was between cold and tepid. I know it is served a bit cooler than others due to milk, but this was awful. Took it back and guy said no problem, others mention it too but it is company policy to serve like that! Frankly it tasted like virtually cold mild added to coffee.

Been here a few tiimes and I don't really know why there are so many bad reveiws. When I've been it's been clean and well laid out. The music they play in there is awful though

I had a half an hour to kill between meetings and my black coffee clock was chiming!

The building is well placed for a meeting with easy parking but thats the only good bit. Staff are either very friendly or like today utterly disinterested. The killer is the loos they are the very worst of old motorway stops. The walls, floor and facilities are just dire. It is not hard to keep the facilities clean. Your better of stopping at the next burgerhouse either way! It should be used in training for how not to run a franchise.

I like the coffee they do, its really hot, its quite strong without being over powering. Where they struggle for me, is achieving consistent quality of service. Some are very pleasant and efficient, others not quite so.

I go here regularly, and I know it's fairly grubby. Floors often dirty and tables need clearing. The toilets are depressing. Recently done up, which meant painting the doors a pleasing shade of dark brown. Today, toilets not very nice as usual, but this time no toilet paper and the one handier (out of three) which actually works had a notice saying do not use. No paper handtowels provided. They say you can judge a places kitchens on the state of the toilets. Come on Starbucks, sort this grotty cafe out.

We arranged to meet friends, who were on holiday, in Starbucks. The cafe is a little dark and could do with a makeover. The floor was dirty and could have done with a clean. Several tables had not been cleared for twenty minutes. When our friends arrived we decided to go elsewhere. It is not a cafe to sit and relax in. We did not realize Costa was in Truro.

Great Starbucks and a good place to stop for coffee on the A30. Always worth visiting this Starbucks, as the food and drink are excellent, as is the service and the ambience.

Staff in the morning are very friendly and even remember my drink when I come in once a week! Coffee is always good esp the changing of the bean for Lattes every few months. Fave def was the Kenyan!

Just off Chiverton Roundabout on the A30, a great little pit stop. Clean friendly, great service, fab variety of cakes, biscuits and heat sandwiches. Plenty of varied seating from cumfy chairs, to tables and chairs to a really nice bar area with higher stools. Excellent coffee and choice of tea.

Nothing better or worse than any other branch in this chain. Had decent hazelnut latte and cinnamon swirl. Upstairs has a number of tables with plugs - useful for the laptop. Free wifi. Seemed a little short staffed.

Cold drinks and filthy gents toilet for months! For god sake can you not clean the toilets they are and have been filthy for months.

Ex Little Chef and little has changed. Dark and dreary, unwelcoming decor and atmosphere. Coffee ok but blueberry muffins stale. Staff were helpful and obliging but this is not a place to visit for anything other than a necessity.

Yep , as the title suggested. Nothing bad , and nothing great . Clean and tidy when you walk in. Staff are Starbucks friendly ie ask loads of questions on how your day is etc. Coffee is as expected if you like your Starbucks then you won't be disappointed. Why 3 stars , well it's average and not very good . I will continue to come here and would recommend it to anyone who was passing and wanted a coffee.

we went here at 19:40 with a group of autistic adults and there opening times said they were open to 20:00 hours. they were locked at 19:40 disgusted.

No doubt the worst hot chocolate and a terrible cup of tea ever at this STARBUCKS..Just what we did not want when we stopped here..poor service and generally untidy throughout inside ..Outside a massive drain problem that covers half the car park with rain water..been like it for ages as well.

Called in today sat 22 nov for the first time it was like walking into works canteen service was slip shod get told one thing and then that changes without notice got our snack then had to wait for our coffee, they eventually arrived, one wrong then wait again, eventually got it was at lot worse than the old transport cafes, but the price was not the same more like 4star hotel. Never again

Friendly, courteous staff that make me feel valued and they always make my coffee just the way I like it.

Starbuck is what it says on the tin! We had 2 very big but very lovely coffees and a huge cookie which we decided to share. Comfy chairs and a nice place to sit, unwind and chat

In this age of technology this is a haven for business and holiday makers in need of a wifi connection. It's not different from other Starbucks but the staff are friendly and welcoming. They really are a lovely bunch we travel 11 miles from our holiday site for the coffee and the welcome.

Situated on the Chiverton roundabout on the A30 just north of Truro this Starbucks has proved to be very popular with tourists and business people alike. Most days there are at least a dozen people on their lap tops using the free wi-fi. Excellent coffee (if you like Starbucks, as I do) friendly and efficient staff parking for approximately 30 cars. I visit regularly twice a week and am never disappointed. Adjacent to petrol station. A good place to stop.

Went here for a coffee because our usual cafe was full. So expensive - NEVER AGAIN. Typical boring run of the mill cafe.
