Starbucks in Herefordshire, County of

Stopped for a sandwich and a coffee with my mum. I was shocked how dirty it was everywhere. There was food on the floor and dust and crumbs under and on the tables. The ladies’ toilets were a disgrace. We were told the dishwasher was broken so everything was in takeaway containers, which wasn’t a major problem but there were no serviettes in the dispensers, despite staff repeatedly telling me that’s where I would find them. They then forgot to make my coffee and asked me what I was waiting for! There wasn’t even the excuse that it was busy because it wasn’t (not surprising really). I was shocked at how dirty everywhere was, I love Starbucks but not this one.

Rude staff got my order wrong I went in to ask for the correct order to then be spoken about as I walked away an stared at as I got in my car

We nipped whilst in the area for a “good coffee” I did get a good coffee ( a fab flat white) however the service was very slow and waited 10+ minutes for my name to be called for our drinks. That’s ok it was busy and the drive through was busy too. I had no where to be! Now you’re wondering why the 2 stars, well that’s down to the grubby surroundings and the ladies toilets weee absolutely awful. I didn’t report the toilets as they must have known they hadn’t been cleaned that day or atleast not for a few days. I presume staff use the same toilets? The buildup around the taps, floor of grime and dust was very unpleasant. I thought for such a massive company I expected better. The sitting area was also grubby, tables were cleared of used cups etc but not even wiped down for the next customers to use. There was a lot of chocolate cake on the floor under one table, which two staff members looked at but did nothing about. I know they are busy and in a prime location for custom, but it’s disappointing to see, and not expected. I won’t go back next time I travel through as if it’s that grubby in customers sight what’s it like where we can’t see???

This must be the worst Starbucks in the UK. Its dirty, nobody ever seems to clear and/or clean the tables and it is UNBELIEVABLY SLOW! We walked in to an almost empty place, yet it was still 5 minutes before someone took the order :Just 2 coffees (an americano and a flat white) .. 18 minutes later we finally got the coffees which were, to be fair, OK.. Not great, but OK. The girl making the coffee ( I would hesitate to call her a Barista ) was slow beyond belief. We were just glad we decided not to order food or we'd still in the queue 24 hours later... I could see the Drive Through window from where I was stood waiting.. The service seemed to be , if anything, worse on drive thro than at the actual cafe counter. There's a Burger King and a Greggs on this site, I'm not a great fan of either of those places but I'm going to try one or the other next time rather than go back to this awful awful Starbucks!!

The coffee was fine and service was good, but the place really needs a good clean. The gents was dirty, long-standing dust on top of the urinal, dirty floor that appears to have not been mopped for some time and the wash basin was dirty and grimy. We sat in the outdoor area (under cover) which was pleasant enough but the bin was overflowing and there were a plethora of cigarette ends around the tables, tooling if the table, a wipe with a damp cloth would have been an improvement….

Called in to break our journey and had coffee early afternoon on 8th June. The drinks were fine and service slow but friendly. The place was really dirty, and from what I could see the area behind the counter also needed a good clean. I think it was shift change over time but at one point I saw 6 members of staff when there were no customers and yet no-one came out to clean up in the tables. If I hadn't already paid for the drinks I'd have walked out.

Decided on a drive through waited 10 minutes at the order point nobody answered so drove around to the window 3 cars waiting ! 25 minute wait there then when I finally ordered at the window No coconut milk, No Oat milk so had Almond milk !! What has happened to this local Starbucks ? Come on Starbucks get a grip

Took over twenty minutes to get a coffee from time of payment, my toasted sandwich very arrived quickly but sadly cold by time drink made i like to enjoy them together not standing around eating it coffee was wrong used this place several times had a great refurb but need to get staff up to speed and customer service would be nice very disappointed so I suppose as a large chain they are not worried about returning customers as sadly I won't be

Must be the poorest,tasteless flat white I ever been served in my life. The service was terrible! I thought I had entered a morgue rather than a coffee shop. The staff looked like zombies and the atmosphere was awful. Waited 10 mins for the drink as only one person serving who was dealing with the drive thru! Flat white was Luke warm and weak, it was a small latte had it was obvious they did not know how to make one! The Americano was un drinkable. Did not complain as I am positive no one would have given a toss. Avoid peeps

We were at the drive thru. We ordered and then drove to the window where we waited and waited. They were busy. Finally, after 5 minutes he came and asked what we wanted. When we asked if the skinny latte would be long he said it was finished so we paid. He lied! They hadn't made it, and didn't fir yet more minutes. We understand that places get busy but we wouldn't have waited if we had been told the truth. Appalling service.

Friendly service. But the "drive thru" is so incredibly slow. Seriously slow. Toasty and one coffee came to nearly £10 so not particularly good value either. Not a place I will revisit

I visited Starbuck at Ross-On-Wye earlier today, and to be honest I am not someone who frequents the modern type of coffee shop; generally I would prefer the type of ''Homely'' business who employ staff who care about their customer's needs. Starbucks do not care about their customers, this was very apparent at this venue! The floor was dirty, and in some places filthy. It had not been cleaned for a long time. Tables were dirty, had coffee stains and litter on them, and to be quite frank the urge to sit down and eat or drink seems quite a repulsive act. The staff leave you in the queue waiting far longer than you would expect, but they do not communicate any information to you to let you understand why so little a task can take so long. When your coffee is ready nobody lets you know, so you have to ask someone, then they point out to you that the coffee on the side is yours, so it is cold when you get it. If you wish for a spoon to stir, then you are required to ask for one. You will not be offered one. The staff look busy but that is with more attention towards the window customers. The inside customers are very much ignored. After the nightmare visit should you wish to relieve yourself in their toilets then be warned because they are the dirtiest toilets you could ever visit. I will never visit Starbucks again and would not even wish a visit, upon my worst enemy. HORRIBLE

Tbf apart from the slow service that for some reason seems to have become acceptable at Starbucks as a whole and the not quite clean toilets the drinks and snacks were fine and the place as a whole was fine and appeared clean ….. until you looked up. Absolutely covered in cobwebs , so bad it actually looked like it has been decorated for Halloween. Assuming this Starbucks building was purpose built you would have thought some thing for them to clean that high would be supplied. Disgusting!!

Litter outside, dirty toilets with no toilet paper. It took Ellie 20 minutes to make 2 frapacinios, she was painfully slow. It was as if she was trained yo go as slow as possible, no idea how to multi task All 6 of us in the que watched in disbelief at the way she worked.

Firstly I was ignored even though there were four members of staff. They seemed to take more notice of people at the drive through window. One young man seemed to be doing more than the rest of them. I eventually got coffees that were like dishwater and tasteless. The place was dirty, tables needed clearing and cleaning. The toilets had a lot of paper on the floor. The whole place was dreadful. Definitely wouldn't go back in there.... I don't normally give reviews but this was bad.

We visited this branch of Starbucks for the second time in 3 weeks, simply because we needed a break on a journey. It was awful, absolutely awful. It had been awful on the previous visit but we thought things couldn't possibly be like that again. It was worse. Drive through was closed which didn't bother us as we wanted to be inside the cafe. Slow service, staff who seemed utterly disinterested and one member of staff who proceeded to go round the tables with a cleaning spray, ignoring the fact that people were sitting at the tables with food and drinks. The toilets were totally unhygienic. Fair enough, not their fault there was a problem with the pipes so the men's toilets were closed and everyone had to use the ladies, but there was no toilet paper, the floors were filthy and I do wonder if in fact the whole place should have been closed for the day given the problems. The staff need to be much better trained and they need to show some enthusiasm for what they are doing and be friendly to the customers who are after all the reason the cafe is there in the first place.

The service was so slow like waiting 10 mins for two drinks. The staff cannot multi task and the cafe part was in a terrible mess someone needs to focus on tidy up. Just so slow service and just do not focus on drive through you do have other customers in the cafe part

Cheerful service from a nice chap, but stale banana bread! It was swapped without issue, and all ok. Toilets absolutely awful!!! Ladies’ had no toilet roll in the one I used, and lots of tissue on the floor. Disabled toilet was full of faeces and...

Have visited this Starbucks many many times as it is the closest one. Always happy when George is making our coffee as it is usually perfect! Totally worth the 40mile round trip!!

Been coming up here so I can sit outside due to present climate,takeaways only,seating and tables outside are filthy just not been wiped in a long time, the door handle coming out from toilet area into cafe is visibly dirty and again doesn't look recent. With the way things are at present hygiene should be paramount get an extra member of staff in instead of just the 2 to clean,this is an ideal opportunity to do a good througha clean

Yet another filthy Starbucks, only plus point it was conveniently situated. I had a flat white took them ages to find a cup to put it in! The floors and tables where dirty with used mugs all over.It was my mis fortune to have a Festive Panini, if this is the best special you have to offer I would consider shutting up shop for fear of ruining Christmas!Note to self it might be convenient but don't stop at a Starbucks anymore.

Virtually every table had dirty plates and cups. Cafe was empty and staff not busy. Would rather sit in my car. Depressing and crappy chain.

Customer service was dreadful, we was in the que, I over heard a member of the staff saying, she only helps out her team mates when it's really busy, she is clearly not a good team member, so myself and my husband walked out.

Soooo slow! No smiles from staff. Latte served luke warm. When asked to make hotter, huff, puff, no eye contact, just rude. Staff here are clearly not of the usual Starbucks standard. Won’t be stopping here again.

I've been in some rough places in my time, but never one owned by a multinational. Coffee served in disposable cups because "we haven't had time to collect or wash any". Tables strewn with empty cups, and dirty. Toilet was awash with "water". Not sure if it wash clean water or pi**.Horrid! :-(

This the normal stop on a visit to Wales and it is never disappointing. Great cinnamon swirl and latte and although there was a queue the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient . Tables were quickly cleared. Will call I’m on my return journey too - this is one of my favourite Starbucks. Couldn’t wait to eat the cake so the photo demonstrates that - no large cups but I was happy to have a take-away beaker.

Dropped in here for a coffee Saturday 16th Feb. I normally enjoy a Starbucks coffee, but had the worst flat white ever at this place . Rude untrained staff , filthy tables and the loos defied belief they were so dirty ! This place needs to be managed properly or closed down !

I visited Starbucks Ross on Wye this morning at about 9.40am with my daughter and grandson.

Really poor signage, as did not see any notifications. Staff also did not make we aware and happy to take multiple orders throughout the morning. Stung for £100 Car park fee.

I was driving from London to Herefordshire and needed a break, when along came this Starbucks. I have never voluntarily gone into a Starbucks before but I have no complaints about this one. I had a "bog standard" chicken salad, a granola bar and a coffee. All served promptly and with a smile. You can't expect more from a roadside services and I would use the same facility again if I were passing in a westerly direction. Access and egress are not so simple when traveling in the other direction.

We arrived for a quick coffee and snack on our way to Wales. I had a ready made Veggie New Yorker Sandwich which was quite tasty. My husband had a cheese and ham toastie. We were informed that there were no china cups left so we were given paper cups, my husbands cheese toasted was eventually given to him in a paper bag. There were no plates and no cutlery!! Alegedly everything was in the dishwasher. It took over 10 minutes for the coffee to be made, one young lad clearly not sure what he was doing, currently there are 10 people who have waited over 10 minutes for their coffees. It wouldn’t be so bad if it looked like the staff actually cared!! I wouldn’t bother with this place again unless they get someone in to train the staff about the basics of customer service!!

Convenient stop over and sandwich was fresh but filter coffe stewed and toilet area grubby. ‘Sticky’ floor and all doors, including the entrance from the main area had grubby black finger marks across large areas. Despite a yellow warning triangle of cleaning taking place it didn’t look obvious to us!

Stopped off here as a pit stop as part of a 3 hour journey home to South Wales. Lots of empty tables and appeared to be plenty of staff however tables had not been cleared. Asked for a small latte but charged for a medium (cups are heavy for my arthritic hands). When queried was out right but coffee still came in a medium cup which defeated the object. Was told that was the smallest cup available. Vegan wrap purchased was tasteless. I usually use Labels store opposite and will do so next time.

This is the best coffee stop on the M50, certainly the one I always stop at as it’s halfway for this journey I make on a regular basis. The coffee is always good and the staff are friendly. Plenty of parking space.

Slightly above average Starbucks. Decent choice of soft drinks and very comfortable. Staff well trained and pleasant - coffee was good.

We popped in to this outlet for a break for refreshments & unfortunately found it to be quite slow, so we drunk our coffee & moved on.

Just visited today on way back from Midlands to South Wales. We had to wait 20 minutes for a drive through coffee! Quite ridiculous for the privilege of an overpriced, mediocre coffee. Can't blame the staff, or rather lack of ad they were doing their best with very limited resource.

Having visited this place several times as an easy meeting place with colleagues, I was this month greeted with a parking fine for staff not having recorded my number plate correctly.

I regularly pull into this Starbucks whilst on my way back home in South Wales from meetings in the Midlands.

Tiempo de espera eran bastante largas, pero todo el mundo entiende estaba trabajando tan rápido como pudieran. Pero debo decir que el servicio fue genial, la señorita en la factura. Verano era educado, amable y con una sonrisa encantadora en su rostro y parecía contenta de ver los clientes también el café era la pena la espera un café estupendo así realizados por Sam. Sin duda volveremos pronto gracias!

Personal muy desagradable. El miembro masculino del personal estaba siendo grosero de los clientes a los otros miembros del personal sobre los auriculares, pero este fue claramente oído por mí mismo que era otro cliente que paga. Me dieron mi bebida y no fue lo que pedí me explico muy amablemente al miembro masculino del personal y cuando finalmente hizo mi bebida que pedimos no dijo una palabra para mí y sólo lo tiró al otro lado de la barra. Creo que el personal más que una chica que me estaba atendiendo con fresa pelo rubio son muy grosero y prepotente y me hizo sentir muy incómoda y otros clientes a mi alrededor. Creo que para ser un exitoso Starbucks se debe mirar en cambio su personal y conseguir algunos miembros del personal maturer detrás del mostrador. No debe utilizar de nuevo y pasado en este Starbucks la mayoría de los días.

Loo masculina fuera de servicio. Minusválidos una un desastre. 5 el personal detrás del mostrador, pero sólo una porción, esperando demasiado tiempo para que nos sirvieran. Planta unswept. No fue una gran experiencia.

¿Y qué? "Starbucks" y he utilizado unos pocos, lo que hizo de ésta una diferente era la alegre, personal servicial, todo sonrisas!

Magnífico servicio, buen café. Cola pero atendido con rapidez y el personal era encantador incluso bajo estrés

Llamado en casi 1:00 de la mañana del domingo en el camino de vuelta de un viaje de noche a los Midlands, ningún otro cliente en absoluto y no hay coches en el aparcamiento, pero al menos era abierto y podías sentarte dentro. Pedí un chocolate caliente y me trataron de fob con una taza desechable, pero cuando pedí una taza, fue siempre sin problemas. El chocolate caliente era bueno pero templada en lugar de caliente.

Over priced. Cold/Luke warm coffee. £2 for a cookie - can get 5 for £1 in the local shop!!! Always dirty. Not sure why I'm writing this - what do Starbucks care

Visited on Thursday 30th march Stopped for a quick coffee which was ok, a normal Starbucks . Staff was friendly But visited the toilets before I left and they was filthy and disgusting, floor was really dirty . Obviously no members of staff take the time to see if things need cleaning Not very hygiene at all Nothing more of putting than dirty toilets

Starbucks normally offer reliable food and service so it was disappointing to visit this one. It is helpful that the food is pre-prepared and difficult for the staff to mess up. The food and drinks are therefore okay. However there is no sense of welcome with the most prominent signs threatening action if you park for longer than two hours. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to spend 2 hours at this place. The cafe was grubby, the area for dispensing milk, sugar etc was messy and lacked basic supplies. When more were asked for, the impression given was that this as a major inconvenience to the staff. We visited around lunchtime and the venue was almost empty so perhaps footfall is an issue. We pass through Ross regularly and will be in no hurry to visit this Starbucks again.

Stop here quite often for a coffee on my way to South Wales only use the place really for convenience. Coffee is OK, service is just about bearable, staff never friendly. Biggest criticism is plastic cutlery.

Came in to warm up after a long journey to find a cold, dirty, untidy coffee shop with very miserable staff....ordered two lattes, had them dumped in front of me, no smile, no thank you, no nothing!! Tried to find a table that wasn't dirty or cluttered with used cups, plates, cutlery and food crumbs. I could understand if they were busy however this wasn't the case, few people in with three staff stood around chatting!...never again! Very poor ☹️

Speed of service has picked up (smile please). The drinks are overpriced and lukewarm but tastier than Costa. New furniture is nice.

We pass this branch of Starbucks about once or twice a year when we are on a long journey to Wales and we thought it would make a good "pitstop" as it's right on the side of the road with parking outside. We won't be stopping there again .....The decor is miserable, grimy dark paint from floor to (very high) ceilings. My husband's coffee was stone cold and had to be replaced. We ordered a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich which was given to someone else. Unlike similar chains such as Costa or Coffee Republic you have to wait around for cooked items just as you do for coffee and there appears to be no system so it just turns into a free for all. The place was cold, dark and untidy but the Christmas tree was so dreadful it actually made me laugh as it looked so pathetic decorated with Starbucks promotional items. Nothing makes me feel like Christmas like a fake tree decorated with Starbucks tat! As I said we won't be returning and I shall avoid Starbucks in the future based on this experience.

I regularly stay in Ross on Wye and this is the local Starbucks. Friendly same hipster vibe as most other Starbucks. OK coffee, nice food, same stylised interior, chatty quirky Baristas. Always reminds of an Apple Store, probably due to the plethora of MacBooks and iPhones on display. If you like Starbucks, you'll like this one

The only reason I use Starbucks in Ross is to meet up with friends from Ross and use the wifi (the only good thing about this Starbucks!). If you stay in the carpark for over 2 house you need to give your number plate to the staff. It seems they cant even get this right! I now have a £100 fine! Don't order the hot chocolate, it's always luke warm with a bit of froth on top. And the tea?! This is the worst tea I've ever tasted!

a Starbucks is the same anywhere, but staff are very good and friendly. Service is good. A good location, would be good to see more of these on the busy roadside.Not sure about opening hours but it would be good if they done sensible hours representative to being on busy trunk roads so a late evening would be good as people are still out on the road after 6pm!

Called in for a bite to eat and a coffee and ended up spending £10 for just those 2 items.I asked for a medium latte and picked up a panini and it cost me that much.I'm more of a costa man and to be fair I will be sticking to that brand in future as it's better value for your money.

Stopped here en route back to the South West. First time I have tried Starbucks. Not very impressed. Very pricey, not very good coffee, hot chocolate or cake. was not clean either in toilets or at the tables and floor and staff hadn't been to charm school! Ended up buying cold drinks and chocolate next door afterwards as we needed something we could actually enjoy and the car was cleaner & comfortable.

Unless I was over charged by accident! Tea now in teapots, first one I had dripped everywhere when pouring. The toilets were not clean and had faeces up the back of the pan

Experience was ok. However, a week later, got a £100 demand for parking outside (we had a business meet, just over 2 hours, though bought 3 rounds of drinks). Called Starbucks and they say its nothing to do with them, even got a bit ratty with me on the phone.So, don't go here if you need to park there, you run the risk of having to pay and extra £100 for the privilege!

Staff appear busy but queues hardly move. Tables needed clearing. Queue 5 deep for the ladies. Freezing cold. Stopped here 2 or 3 times before but no more. This was 10am on a quiet Saturday morning. Hate to see it in high summer.

Called in on our way home yesterday afternoon, ordered 2 hot chocolates which weren't very hot and lacked flavour, my son had a slice of Oreo cake and really enjoyed it but I had a chocolate chip shortbread which was very dry and tasted stale! Staff were lovely and wifi was good but the biggest disappointment had to be the ladies toilet....disgusting at best. Such a shame as this was our first visit but will most definitely be our last.

Friendly Staff but coffee a tall latte was really poor even compared to other chains. (It's the method Starbucks use)Also the tables and floor was very dirty.It was the afternoon but there was no excuse.

If you are passing through Ross on Wye this is a well run Franchise. It also has the option of coffee on the go with their drive through!

Service rather off hand and the restaurant was untidy. Coffee and cakes good quality but far too expensive.

I usually call here once a week as a treat as it's not cheap but usually worth it, I'm local too so it's handy but it's just so hit and miss, sometimes it's great and others they will be out of certain things, usually whipped cream, yesterday however was the worst yet, my wife called in for us, she had a tea and myself a hot chocolate, she was not asked size, whether we wanted sugar, cream etc, and what we got was absolutely horrible, the chocolate had obviously been made with hot water and a bit of frothy milk on top, it reminded me of the horrible drinks that vending machines used to do, not a high end coffee chain, and the tea was not much better, come on its really not that hard to make a decent hot chocolate and tea surely? Not sure if I'll visit again now as over £6 is not something I like to waste and it's a gamble if the drink is actually drinkable or not

I travel all over with work and have to start my day with a coffee! This store is really lovely recently having some new furniture which makes it look totally different!The staff are super on the ball and really lovely always going that extra little bit to make sure everyone is happy!

The service was slow inside the store and handing out the drinks at the end can sometimes be a great opportunity to leave a customer with a great feeling rather than just dumping the drink in the side, shouting the name and walking away

Popped in for a quick coffee. Kept wait for several mins at the counter. Whilst the staff tended to the drive through customers. Seems like they had a timed quota to meet.

Although we live in the area and generally visit Costa in town we decided to go for a change of scenery and give Starbucks a try.There is a drive through which is the only one in the area for this type of offering.We ordered 2 X panini's and 2 X coffees and it came to nearly £18. To me that is ridiculous and the coffees aren't any where as nice as what you get from Costa.The seating area is quite large but open and can be noisy and echoey.I may call in one day on my way home from a day trip out but I wouldn't be making a specific trip there in the future.

Plenty of parking and seating inside. Can be a bit of a wait at busy times. I normally get a coffee here for my drive down into Wales. Not really many places to get a drink between Newport and the M5 if you go up or come down the M50. It's on the side travelling towards Wales but it doesn't take long to go around the roundabout if you're going the wrong way.

This Starbucks is exactly half way between home and relatives in Swansea. We usually stop here for a break and coffee but no more. If you do the drive through they invariably get the order wrong, last time I had to shout my order into that infernal machine, checked she had heard it properly, but they still got it wrong. If you go in, you have to wait while they serve (ahem !!!) the drive through customers and wait for the servers to finish laughing and chatting. Appalling service, coffee not good, even after the wait, and to add insult its considerably more expensive. There is no difference between their Latte and Cappuccino!

Quite a busy coffee shop. Standard Starbucks range so very little to say. Convenient if travelling south but have to go round a longer way if travelling north

We often stop here and we are usually as happy leaving as we were arriving! Not today, only us two in the shop, 2 members of staff talking and laughing and it was a few minutes before we were acknowledged. Coffee was tepid and the butter so cold it could not be spread. No sign of any real cleaning going on with crumbs on most tables. Reading others reviews put me off going to the toilets!!!
