Mr. Chips in Herefordshire, County of

the last 2 times I ordered the pensioners fish and chips the portion sizes of both the fish and the chips has vastly be reduced, The manager has told me he as told his staff, to reduce the chips down to a cone size, and the fish size is now about 2/3rds what it used to be, but they are still charging the same price.

Ordered food, took 2 hours to deliver, on just eat it said 30-45mins. bossman said he'll deliver me a free kebab today, it's been 1.5hours just rang him and he said tomorrow, POOR SERVICE

Phoned to place an order told to use just eat, 1hr15 later phoned again to be told order won't be coming and get a refund or pay extra for del which already done via site 🤬🤬🤬 so they had my contact number yet couldn't advise me and made me wait for food that wasn't going to sent out until I phoned and asked 🤔 obviously the customer isn't priority and left hanging

We did a big order for work and the Fish chips were absolutely tasty , the staff are very kind and when i told them the order is for a Nursing home they have even given me a discount

Messed up my order on Deliveroo. Rang them up and they resolved it instantly. Good portion sizes and tasty.

I used to get takeaway food at Mr Chips after I had worked late into the evenings as a tutor at the local art college and was very satisfied with the quality of the food and staff. I'm afraid that yesterday's experience was very different as the the quality of the food was poor and member of staff, who I hadn't seen before, rude and almost insisting that I pay cash (?) when card payment was usual. It's a shame but things change and you inevitably move on.

Ok. As long as you don't expect much chicken in a chicken curry and chips

Very nice chips, I had chips & pie, others had fish & chips, all was really tasty

Never was good quality but you didn't mind because the price was ok. No longer good value. This cost me £9.90. when they handed it to me I thought I was handed an empty box. Pretty bad.

We are all aware of how much things are costing now and Mr Chips remains great value for money. The chips and chicken curry are great.

Well thought I would give them a try as I normally go over the road to the Galleon, I wish I hadn't now, had doner meat and chips by the time I got home, the paper was dripping in oil, and was swimming inside the container, could of filled my deep fat fryer up with what came out of it. Really need to drain off the chips or meat before serving it.

Went here as kids wanted a kebab. And it's just average cheap kebab shop, edible food .

I used here in the lockdown for many months as my local was closed, went back to local for a year. But the prices rose there so much, came back here, always delivered hot and tasty, and 50% cheaper for the same order from my local. Best chippy in Hereford

Small order......simple.......failed to deliver correct order, which we know happens. Rang to seek an answer and take cost off missing food and off price paid, not massive, but right thing to do. Met by ' we are closed' 'come tomorrow'.... Gave order number as thought it would help the discussion... But male who said he was manager, constantly said see me tomorrow, we are closed. In short, not interested. In the world of what we are all going through, not major, but we have always had a good service and food, this was not good and the 'manager' was not interested. All note. This is £20 worth of food?? Value???

Ordered through just eat and order didn't even arrive, rang Mr chips and they just said to contact just eat as its nothing to do with them, yet u go through just eat and u have to email them, they will probably reply next year. Talk about fast service. Don't go to Mr chips and definitely don't order through just eat. Ridiculous

Had an issue with the JustEat delivery Driver, he had given us the Wrong order. Tried to flag the driver down as he was driving towards me, flashing the receipt. Just drove off. Mr Chips staff were amazing and fixed the issue, we did have to go pick it up, but i was dropping off food to my wife and daughter at the hospital, 5 stars because of the services, was polite, fast and the food was great can never go wrong with the reasonable priced meal, we are all stuffed

Cheapest place on the street and I'd still go if they weren't. Great value, great portions and very clean inside. £5 kebab and chips. 👌

I often use Mr chips, food is really good, I love the kebabs. I would say avoid early evening as its full of delivery drivers getting their orders so you might have a wait.

Battered sausages are absolutely disgusting the sausage inside did not taste right and the batter was rock hard

Went here for a chicken tikka kebab tonight was very nice would definitely go back again chips were very nice too best chipshop experience from Hereford in a long time as rest we have tried are nowhere near as nice and waste of money

You can't beat a Mr Chips! Especially the chicken curry and chips. The entire menu us spot on but that's easily the local favourite. Awesome new refit, Shame they haven't brought back the seating area (removed because of covid) but I'm sure that'll be back soon.

Ordered a donnor meat and chips, got the meat and the chips no problem but also on the side they decided to pour 30 litres of oil aswell. Thought nothing much of it but now I feel sick, no salt on chips either just air. Still ate it cuz I’m an absolute mental geeza but will never go there again. GOLDEN GALLEON ALL THE WAY!!!

Been using this takeaway ever since they opened in Tupsley many years ago and then moved to their present premises in Commercial Road. I cannot understand the negative feedback at all as I have always found the owners and staff very friendly. The food quality and quantity is excellent and in my opinion represents great value for money . I’ve tried most of the takeaway outlets over the years but in my opinion the present ‘Mr Chips’ is my preferred choice.

Every saturday, steak and kidney pie, jumbo and chips with a large curry sauce.. been the same for years.. still got to remind him....

Ordered a take away to nite we ordered fish and chips fish came swimming in grease and chips looked just like the spud had been cut and sent out without being cooked won’t be wasting my money ordering from there again I wouldn’t fed too the dog let alone myself

There are a number if take aways in the same street as Mr Chips, and this is the best. Had mixed meat and chips tonight, which was spot on as usual, my only niggle is my can of tango was so cold it had half turned to ice! Turn the fridge down a tad and will be 5* as usual

Rude customer services and portion sizes that would struggle to fill up a hobbit. I ordered a large gravy and chips. As you can see from my photo. This is most definitely not a large and the food was cold...

Staff at Mr Chips are always welcoming and friendly. Bought take away from here a couple of times and the food quality has never failed to hit the mark. Also, they generally seem to be open when other chip shops are not, which is brilliant - more happy customers and more business for them.

Decided to try this new Indian take away and I was not disappointed. The service is fast and friendly with high quality food that is really authentic. The curry that I ordered was really tasty and the sides were also excellent. Definitely going back again. 5 * !!

Visited here as part of an away day watching the football. The food was lovely. Fairly priced and clean place. Will definitely visit again next time. Had a wrap which was devine!

Brilliant service and best chippy so far in town.

A shop that can be visited to purchase lumps of deep fried spud. I popped in for some brunch and ordered a chicken curry in a dish. Mr.Chips was serving and he gave me some of his trademark banter. I went home with a smile on my face and some lovely nutritious grub in my guts. Thanks all for a wonderful experience.

Would like to give half a star but won't let me, have been going here for the last couple of months and to start off with the food was really good the chicken meat was breast meat but the last couple of times the chicken has been very fatty, which shows it's not breast chicken, won't be going here again after this last experience where I brought chicken meat and chips and Donna meat and chips and had to throw it all in the bin as couldn't eat it as chicken was very fatty and the Donna meat was very spicy and also had gritty bits in, so there for you have lost another customer

Went here for lunch yesterday and it was the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time and really good value for money also, had the meal deal fish and chips for £4 but I wanted to change the free can for a cup of tea instead and they were more than happy to do that for me These other People putting bad reviews don’t know what they are on about, makes me think if they even went to the right shop to get food

Ordered Fish and Chips at lunchtime £5..fair enough, but then whilst sitting in my van noticed the meal deal which was fish,chips and a can for £4. Complained that the meal deal wasn't advertised in the shop, and was told to get lost. After more discussion the owner asked me if I had started my meal, if not he would re-sell my food and offer me a refund of the £5....ewww Under new management, maybe they should learn good business practices

we were looking for somewhere to eat when we found Mr Chips, it looked really clean and inviting. We ordered Fish Chips and Mushy Peas, when it arrived I couldn't believe how much there was on the plate, it looked and tasted delicious. The service was excellent, it was really nice to have a bit of banter with the owner, coming from the Black Country our sense of humour isn't always understood. I would recommend to all.

Awful! Soggy and greasy chips and low grade chicken nuggets and the coating fell off them. Ended up throwing them away rather than eating. Cheap but with good reason! Avoid!
