queued outside, when got into shop my partner asked then to put on some scampi to save waiting time. Despite saying they would nothing happened. Actually asked 3 times and assured they would be put in fryers, they weren't in fact when partner reached counter and asked again they had to go out back to get them. Also asked for small portion of chips with scampi and a large pie and chips. On getting home found no chips with scampi. Very poor service and would not recommend to anybody who expects to get what they ask for how hard can it be.

Chips not very good but fish ok. Service pretty poor - not very friendly at all - so we only use as a last resort

My M in Law has been raving about her trip last Tuesday.She ordered by phone and was delighted to find them ready when they arrived. I'm sure some places dont bother and you get just as long to wait as if you had just turned up!The staff were friendly and helpful, even double wrapped the food for the trip back to Suckley. (The big fluffy towel did come into play as well) so when the got them home they were still piping hot. They loved the chips, the batter was excellent, the Cod was creamy; just perfect in every way!I think they even phoned you and said how thankful they were.So from me and on their behalf.....Thank you for this excellent servce, long may you continue serving the community so well.

I agree with other reviews about the soggy chips. No crunch, just limp and no texture. And they were not very hot.The fish cake fell to pieces when I picked it up. Other chippies can get it right , so it can't be that difficult, but no joy here.Very disappointed.

Great fish and mushy peas, peas salty but I liked that, chips not chips but mainly scraggy bits. More like left over oddments

Not sure if the chippy has been taken over recently but just had take away from there tonight and food was awful, it’s been amazing up to now, chips hard and shrivelled up like they have been cooked more than once, kebab was smothered in mint sauce (type you would have with roast lamb not mint yoghurt), portions very small now too,

Best chippy around, Ledbury or Newent. Large portion of chips, large fish, chips nice and brown, someone said on here the chips were a small portion, what did they expect, a bucket full, they are more than enough, missus and I buy 1 large fish for moi and 1 small fish for her. 1 large chips split 50/50 a plate full. always have take away, so don’t know about eating in. We always make a beeline for one particular chippy when in Lyme Regis, this one is on par

Had large fish and chips. Was ok fish was quite thin but tasted ok. Wouldnt be in a hurry to return tho

Very fresh,lovely staff,best fish and chips,stayed very hot on the mile drive back. All well wrapped ,we could do with one in harlow

Chips portion and quality good but the fish had really soggy batter and was greasy not very nice at all.I gave it a three as the size of the fish was better than the other fish shop down the roadI wouldn’t rush back to buy another.

We have recently moved to the area and visited hear recently very clean and friendly but have been disappointed with the portion size of the chips. We have visited twice now and first visit I thought it was a one off but second time the large chips we even smaller. compared to other chip shops very small chip portions for the money .

Best fish and chips in Ledbury and a regular for me. I haven’t tried any of the other offerings. The challenge of course is parking. Quality and portion size always great

Got here a little early, friendly staff said they would be open in 20 minutes which I thought was very good considering the door was locked and they could of just ignored me. Went back latter for 2 large cod and chips, good portion, fresh and tasty.

Fabulous freshly cooked chips, crispy flaky white fish , friendly staff , clean premises , codfather ll is always my first choice for a chippy dinner, when I first visited it was because I was recommended to go there by a local, and I am happy to recommend them myself , definately my favourite

First visit here for some time, usually we use another venue in town, however as i could park right outside the door thought it was woprth a try.

Just enjoyed fish and chips from The Codfather Pt 2. Batter very good, chips very good, portion size generous. Excellent!

A cone of chips are quite expensive here. A cone of chips you can get for a £1 from other chippys in ledbury. Also the chips aren't even that nice- very greesy- no flavour and served cold. Staff seem miserable- no service with a smile- would only return if I was desperate or if it was the only chippy in ledbury.

The fish is superb, the batter is crunchy and delicious, the portion sizes are big, chips are pretty good as well.

I have lived in Ledbury for a while and usually go to this chip shop . However today this is my experience.I arrived asked for 2 pieces of large fish and the surely assistant picked up a small piece of fish and as I questioned her on if it was a large piece she smothered it in salt and vinegar ( which I had not asked for). I looked in the cabinet and there were clearly larger pieces and I said I would like those instead She stated they were all large fish and it was too late and as she had salt and vinegared it I would have to pay for it I said I wanted to swap it and this is when the male person came in ans said take it or leave and threw me out

always busy so you know the food hasn't been hanging about for ages. Staff quick to serve and always polite.

Absolutely superb fish & chips, never had better. Only complaint is that it is not easy to 'eat in' only two small tables in the shop. Even so do try it, settle for a take away or squeeze in to the table area.

Why on earth would you pay good money for the garbage that they sell as fish & chips!!!!

Freshly cooked cod and chips. Chips were lovely and the batter crispy. Lovely white fish. There was a queue which is a good sign but we did not have to wait long for our food.

Friendly staff. In my opinion the best fish and chips in town. Also the chicken kebabs are delicious.

Absolutely fantastic kebabs! They are huge too! So definitely worth your money! Girls that work in there are lovely too :)

The best in Ledbury, in my opinion! Crispy batter, lovely white cod. Well worth stopping off for- if your passing through. Huge portion of chips for big appetites . We usually share one between two.

The Codfather is a fish and chip shop that I frequent regularly. The food is always tasty and I'm never disappointed with the food and the service of those that serve me.

A casual visit made recently showed really good. tasty and well cooked chips. However the batter around the fish was rather greasy - usually found when the fat is not at a sufficiently high temperature to ensure the sealing of the fish and crispness - a pity.

Visited while stopping in Ledbury the weekend and order 2 fish and chips with curry and mushy peas :) must say the fish was beautiful like fish should be chips were yummy and same as peas etc , staff were friendly and shop was clean and busy will use again on our next stay :)

Definitely the best Fish and Chip Shop in Ledbury. Good sized portions and always freshly cooked. There is also a good selection of chip shop food such as sausage kebab atc.

Another impressive fish and chips much to the delight of my visiting NZ family who were very impressed with the freshness of the fish and the portion sizes. Best value for money for miles and always great service from Amy or Kat too.

Fish and chips freshly cooked while we waited. Very clean looking premises. Good range of food to choose from. Staff were lovely. Fish tasted exceptionally fresh. Price was very reasonable and to be honest you could share one portion between two people! Would definitely be on my visiting list for my next visit to Ledbury. Well done Codfather II.
