We bought a coffee and a cake and sat on a double table as a pair - after being sat for 20 mins and not finished out drinks we were told to leave because other customers wanted to sit down but we hadnt even finished. Really rude and poor customer service

Quick coffee stop. Reasonable coffee, however the place is a little run down. Staff not as friendly as most Starbucks.

Came to just pick up a coffee, and whilst it was very fast service and the staff were nice enough, I couldn’t help but notice just how dirty both the coffee bean holders were. I’m not one to usually mind a bit of mess, but these looked like they hadn’t been cleaned, maybe ever. It made me really regret ordering a coffee and concerned about the levels of cleanliness for the areas that aren’t visible for customers. Unfortunately I will not be coming back.

SHOCKING, APPALLING!!!!!!!!! Came for a simple iced latte and was left disgusted to say the least. The cleanliness levels are non existent, staff are rude. The coffee beans are on display, stored in rusty looking containers, they need a clean! How the hygiene rating is above one is beyond me! Will NOT be coming back. The one in town is much nicer, with much friendlier staff. Can also spell my name correctly.

Totally underwhelmed. Shabby, run down, indifferent service. Bitter coffee. Messy counter Costa, here I come

Had coffee and a chia bats. Next to me a large dog was allowed to sit on chairs customers use- dirty arse rubbed on chair and filthy feet on chairs!! Really !!! Aweful

I luv Starbucks Eldon Square Service is always friendly and prompt. They always do my points card for me no fuss Excellent

My wife and I were regulars at this Coffee shop many years ago. We were in Jesmond yesterday with time to kill while my Mother underwent minor surgery at a nearby hospital, so we decided to go and sit in the sun at our previously favourite cafe. There were a number of tables unoccupied outside despite the sunny weather and only one more ahead of me in the Q to be served, so my wife took a seat at an outside table and waited for me. The set up is that you enter one at a time to place your order and then stand outside until called upon. Upon entry I was asked to sign in on the NHS App which I promptly did, then proceeded to give my order to the female behind the glassed screened counter. She asked me to sign in again on the app as she hadn’t witnessed the first scanning of the NHS app,and show her the results on my app despite having watched me do it the first time she needed proof that I had signed in. Her manner at this point was less than admireable and whilst I was already on tender hooks because of my elderly mothers surgery I proceeded with the order, any other day I would have simply walked out. She next asked if I was taking out or sitting outside, to which I pointed that my wife was outside at a table and that we would sit there. She then proceeded to tell me that next time I should place an order first before taking a seat, and that we were allowed to sit there for one hour only, to which I told her I doubted wether we would ever return. Because of the glass screen and the belligerent attitude of the female staff member we found ourselves repeating ourselves over and over again. Eventually the order was placed and paid for by scanning my card. She did however bring the coffee and eats to the table and appeared a little happier with herself at that juncture. I was overheard telling my wife of my experience by a lady on the next table who couldn’t wait to tell me that she’s a regular and gets the same poor service every time she’s in. So, if its coffee with a smile theres plenty cafes in leafy Jesmond , if its poor service by belligerent staff who need proper training then this is the place for you.

Ever since the beginning of Covid this branch has been so badly run, of course businesses have had to follow guidelines, but no other branch of Starbucks has behaved like this.Terrible system of barricading the entrance and making people stand outside for up to 20 minutes while they make coffee.Very rude staff and a crazy manager shouting at people to step back from the desk or stand away from the door.They didn't even have a card reader on the desk so have to take your card or phone away which surely is not a great idea.After a few bad experiences at this branch I have avoided it for months but as the restrictions were relaxed today I decided to get coffee there.Despite restaurants being open for indoor dining the barricade was still in place, just been moved a bit further into the shop.The staff were as abrasive as ever, took my order and then asked me to go outside and wait.The manager was hovering over the counter and shouted at me to get outside.Honestly she seemed totally crazy, I waited outside in the rain and after ten minutes they managed to produce my coffee which they brought outside.I agree with a previous reviewer who said the manager was on some sort of power trip.Will not be going back to this branch of Starbucks ever again, fortunately there are lots of new independent coffee shops in the area where staff are happy to have customers

This Starbucks chain is breaking the law. The 'covid secure' structure is absolutely ridiculous, making customers stand in the rain whilst waiting 20 minutes or more for a drink. It also appears they are very uninformed, as they have not changed the layout of the venue despite restrictions lifting across the UK. This place needs shut down and investigated, trying to enforce laws which are no longer relevant!

I always use this as my coffee shop as the coffee is always exceptional , It’s clean and there is a couple of lovely members of staff who are long-standing. Unfortunately, I know I’m in for a slow visit as even if I order ahead Using the app, I can guarantee it will still take 5 to 10 minutes to get my coffee sometimes. I guess it is worth the wait if you love Starbucks like I do

The other person I was with went inside to ask if he could use the toilet, no one was inside but another staff member, when the outside staff member literally screamed for him to leave. It was absolutely humiliating, and everyone around was alarmed. When we tried to explain and say we think that was uncalled for she ignored us and walked away.

No visible signage outside advising on covid measures other than green dots on the ground which are easily missed. I entered wearing mask & was barked at to wait outside. Service no better once drink was ordered. I advised I’d wait outside for my order as I had a dog with me. After a prolonged wait (it wasn’t particularly busy) when the drink was ready they refused to bring it outside for me.... even though there were customers sitting at outside tables, so the staff were taking drinks outside to other customers. What I can only assume was the manager by the way she spoke to customers & staff was clearly on a power trip and feels she is superior to everybody else. What she doesn’t realise is, it’s very easy to abandon Starbucks in Jesmond & take business to one of the many small independent businesses in the area, which are appreciative of their customers and provide an enjoyable experience. Which is exactly what I will be doing from now on. I live in the area & will be strongly advising friends against visiting Starbucks due to the terrible service.

New covid restrictions mean you queue outside - not a problem. But when you’re the only persons in the queue and your certainly were not busy creating drinks, to be ignored is not acceptable. After 5 minutes of waiting, gave up and went somewhere else. Not been back since.

Starbucks in jesmond are actually breaking the law they should not be allowed to take peoples card and take it away I know times are difficult but if they insist on card payments only they should make sure the reader was available it’s easy to see why Starbucks isn’t as popular as it once was

Nice cafe, lovely granola bar but latte was barely warm and I didn’t have time to wait while they made another. How difficult can it be to make sure the milk is hot?!!

This a very good Starbucks shop. The staff here are very friendly and professional and take more care than the usual Starbucks outlets. The coffee and frap were very well made and the atmosphere here is more laid back than in town.

Este es definitivamente mi Starbucks favorito en el área. El personal es muy agradable, encantador y acogedor, y es tanto para perros como para niños. El servicio suele ser muy rápido y los baños siempre están muy limpios. Lo único que encontré es que la zona de asientos hacia la parte posterior puede ser un poco fría. Pero una vez dicho esto, tienen una bonita y pequeña caja de mantas de lana junto a la puerta.

Estaba de compras en Acorn Rd, así que pensé que merecía un descanso, llamé a Starbucks al final de la calle. ¡Normalmente no soy un gran admirador de las cadenas, pero esto cambió mi opinión! Entonces, ¿qué tan difícil es hacer una gran Mocha blanca? Bueno, no es difícil, aunque el número de acuosos que he tenido en otros lugares lo desacredita de alguna manera. Salimos hoy, al igual que el resto de los clientes, ya que el personal chillaba y reía mientras los clientes intentaban tomar sus cafés. Esta tienda a menudo está vacía hoy en día, sin embargo, las mesas se dejan sin limpiar y el personal pasa la mayor parte del tiempo socializando entre sí.

Visité el 12/3. Aparte de mi mesa, había otras dos mesas ocupadas, sin embargo, quedaron 12 mesas con tazas y platos usados.Esta no es la primera vez que lucho por encontrar una mesa limpia. Comprensible si el personal está ocupado. . . pero no lo fueron! Dedo dedo y hacer su trabajo, estamos pagando los mejores precios por un café, nos gustaría tener una mesa despejada en contra de tener que limpiarlo nosotros mismos.

Still probably the busiest of a dearth of coffee shops in Jesmond and the coolest with it's relatively new refit.

Had the most awful coffee, complained & was stonely ignored by indifferent barista - obliged to pay for a replacement

Good food and drink for everyone to enjoy. Really good and the hot choc with wipped cream and chocolate sprinkles mmmm

It's a Starbucks, that means overpriced, lukewarm coffee and expensive snacks dressed up to look better than they really are.

Second time at this place, both times got drinks to go as the place is a bit cramped. Staff are pleasant but terribly slow (managed to wait in a queue for the toilet and when I got back, our drinks still weren't done!). Cool drinks were bought and really like their cool lime refresher. Had better service at their place in Kingston Park.

I visited Starbucks today with my family. Coffee, and other drinks ok, but the surroundings need immediate attention. The grill on the display cabinet has layers of dust on it. The window sill has peoples initials etched into the paint. The windows are dirty and the general cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Won't be going again!

What a great way to start the day. A good espresso served with a smile! Hotel presented voucher for a free coffee in the morning. Very attentive staff which shows joy in their work.

I am a fan of Starbucks and if I am going to a coffee chain store in any town I usually select it. The Jesmond Starbucks is well located for Metro rail travellers being very close to West Jesmond Station, so it is an ideal breakfast stop or indeed for coffee at any time of the day. My coffee was very good - the usual Starbucks standard. The usual range of cakes, pastries and sandwiches is on offer. My skinny blueberry was fresh and good. My criticism of this particular Starbucks is that it is very cramped. It is hard to walk between tables and their displays with a coffee in one hand and a food plate in the other. That said, pavement seating is available so coffee outdoors on a fine day is very pleasant.

Smiles, warmth and politeness were always one of many greetings when arriving at the counter, wheres it all gone? The staff are miserable and slow. However a broken toilet seat, broken soap dispenser inept toilet roll dispenser a very weak hand dryer which couldn't blow your hat off and muck and filth all over, shocking.

Well for me this was no surprise, another pleasant visit to my local starbucks (that I for some reason haven't reviewed yet).

Shabby without the chic! You wil get plastic cutlery only which means it it nigh on impossible to cut you scalding panini without melting the knife. Staff were very pleasant and obliging on a very busy Sunday lunch time. Nice atmosphere. The BLT pre packed sandwich was very nice. Tuna pinini very thin, did not look very appetising, was quite tasty, but you will risk burning your mouth off. Similar for the cheese and ham one.
