Caffe Ritazza in Newcastle upon Tyne

As this is in the airside terminal at Newcastle Airport. Service was quick, but unfortunately they still use disposable cups. I would much prefer non disposable, but I guess its a bit hypocritical to claim the climate while waiting to board a plane. Coffee is fine, prices, given the location, is fine too.

Oh man but is the service slow. I mean glacial. Avoid this place if you are in a hurry.

Five past four on a quiet Tuesday, eating in, but we have to have paper cups because " I'm closing at five mate and I'll be here till seven if I give you a proper cup". Really!!! Come on, have a bit of customer care and show some enthusiasm for the job. Almost a secondary issue, but the coffee was very poor as well.

The coffee tasted good but the ‘Passion and Pride’ used by their Baristas was not evident. I was refused a china cup because they didn’t have enough staff. Very poor management or ownership…

Walls and skirting boards filthy. Apart from that, the latte,s were nice.

Absolutely useless staff two speeds dead slow and stop. We gave up and went next door for carry out. Went back and watched people inthe queue we were previously next too were still there 20min later that's over 30 min total

We had breakfast here before a short trip to Belfast consisting of a bacon roll, pain au raisin, flat white coffee and tea. The drinks were ok but the food was utterly vile - greasy poor quality bacon that wasn’t fresh, neither was the pain au raisin the pastry was stale and soggy and obviously days old. Within hours my husband was suffering with a stomach upset which had a significant impact on a three day trip. The tables were dirty as was the floor. This is the worst, most expensive airport food we’ve ever experienced- never again this cafe should be avoided at all costs and judging from the many terrible reviews we are not alone in our awful experience of this truly horrible cafe. Shame on you!

I was greeted by a very polite young man with exceptional customer service skills, who was very helpful and cheery. However, The young lady on the drinks station should definitely take a leaf out of the young man’s book as her attitude was disgusting. Scowl looks when asked if I wanted strawberry sauce on my frappe. No attention to time, my mothers flat white was luke warm once we were seated, Didn’t appreciate the attitude when we were nothing but polite back.

It's after 5pm. It isn't busy. The back area is closed for *cleaning*. The area at the front is filthy. Tables with used crockery and spills on cleared tables. The staff are not busy and are physically leaning on the counters. I've never once actually thought of saying if you've got time to lean you've got time to clean but this could be the first time. A woman just knocked on the glass counter for service as there's no one behind the till. What a joke. I get this is an Airport but basic hygiene would be nice.

Lots of staff but are super slow and could not care . Way too slow considering we need to catch flight.

Grabbed an iced coffee and had very friendly service from Chloe, Essan and Dominic today. Cafe was clean and would recommend for somewhere to relax before catching a flight.

Not the best coffee. Maybe try adding more! Latte just like warm milk. Americano is also weak. Staff are coping well though as it’s really busy.

Newcastle Airport – early morning service which may have been the reason for the offhand staff and poor service. Croissant was delicious – but no butter so a bit dry!!

Second time I've been here with the family for a pre-flight breakfast. I don't know why. Terrible. Slow moving staff couldn't care less. Over-priced. Freezer-burnt bread. Dirty tables.. Clean your own.. They will never get around to cleaning it even when it's mega-quiet

Lovely friendly member of staff. Was closing up when I got there but more than happy to still help. I travelled off peak so it wasn’t very busy and the member of staff Krystian took the time to have a natter about my trip and Christmas as I was travelling on Boxing Day. Appreciate that during busy times this wouldn’t necessarily happen given how hard the staff would be working but I don’t doubt they’d still give amazing customer service all the same

Leanne went above and beyond to help us find sandwiches all of our group would eat due to fussy eaters.

Lovely atmosphere before my flight. Really helpful staff who met my dietary needs and ensured my drink wasn’t mixed with others. Team Leader is a really friendly guy!

Yet another great coffee from the John and guys at Caffè Ritazza Airside… Superb coffee every time I visit and gets me ready for the flight ahead!

The label on the displayed bacon bap says "back bacon"... the roll is warmed up and the bacon is NOT back bacon. Its soggy, fatty streaky bacon 🥓 🙄 £15 for 2 bacon baps and 2 small teas! Change your labelling!

The quality of coffee served here is always on point. Flat White which was lovely and strong, just what I needed first thing. Prices a little expensive but you're in an airport so what do you expect. Will definitely return next time.

Came in for a 2x hot chocolates, the so-called “manager” was incredibly abrasive, no manners when my partner went to complain. Our issue was that she had clearly burnt the milk and it infant just tasted of that, burnt milk, no hot chocolate at all...

There are two caffe Ritazza at Newcastle airport both serving similar drinks and snacks. One is before security and the other after the duty free shops. Opt for the one before security for better and quicker service with staff who are polite and actually smile....

Called in at a busy time pre flight, nice oat latte and ham/cheese croissant. Staff were fast and friendly with service keeping everyone moving, just what you need at the airport!

Visited caffe Ritazza before our flight for a little snack and drink, plenty of food choices and iced coffee was amazing! Staff were also lovely and very helpful.

Came in after seeing a picture of a lovely 'crispy bacon' bun. Actual sandwich was a greasy slimy mess made from what looked like left over bacon bits that certainly wasn't crispy. Tye lady behind the counter was quite rude and made me feel uncomfortable....

So disappointed with overpriced lacking in taste chilli rice. Barely a spoonful of chilli so a tub full of rice. The staff, however, were really friendly and the coffees were ok.

At 6am in the morning, during peak holiday season, when it’s busy and we’re excited, but also impatient, what you need is to be served by Rob. Polite, calm and diligent. A benchmark for brilliant service. Coffee & croissants were a bonus.

My favourite place to go at newcastle airport, have a wide range of snacks and drinks - my favourite is the iced salted caramel latte. Staff are always super friendly especially Tom. They also have places to charge devices which is always handy!

Stopped in for quick snack and drink whilst waiting for Belfast flight. Service was friendly and professional. Quick to receive order. Lovely Americano with shot of steamed milk, made the way I like it. Plenty of space and tables were quickly cleared. Wish I could say the same for the Bfs refreshment options! Recommended.
