Starbucks in Wycombe

The place is a mess. Such a shame for the hard working staff. I can’t believe Starbucks could let it get so bad. Needs a complete renovation to return it to the destination it once was when it opened years ago.

Great food, drinks and service but the coffee shop is so run down and dirty. What a massive waste! It could be a great space on the high street but it’s unpleasant

As we approached the place from outside across the other side of the road my first thought was 1980 Amsterdam hash cafe. Certainly looked like the 80's was the last time it deco had been considered. Scuffed paintwork and splinter wood, Just shabby. Service? One girl working on her own. It was a while being served as the surroundings shreiked, keep yourself to yourself. Nice drink but the price does not reflect the brand or indeed the contents. The best bit was getting that last icy drop through the straw whilst staring at a pinky icy cavern. But then, I was a bit high! Ps. My fingers went numb afterwards.

I’ve been reading reviews just now saying awful things about this Starbucks branch but I go here at least once a week because the coffees are so good, the food is great and the staff are such friendly and helpful people!

Must be one of the favourite coffee shop names in the world. However, the place is dirty. Thecroissant I had was at least yesterdays, The coffee was tepid. The decaffeinated coffee was so weak. It was an embarrassment. Worst of all one of the staff was playing with a customers dog, let it lick all over her hands, and then went behind the counter to serve food again. How are the mighty fallen?

Should be closed down for a deep clean. Absolutely filthy establishment. Seriously needs attention. I would go as far as saying it is hazardous to sit in. Dog hair on the tables, floor is absolutely disgusting, no ventilation. Feels so stuffy and generally smells terrible.

Usually I prefer independent coffee shops to big chains. But Marlow was so busy and upmarket that it was a relief to find a quiet Starbucks round a corner. Had a perfect Americano and a "Rocky Road" cake. The staff were lovely. A peaceful and relaxing escape from stressful Marlow.

I’ve always had good drinks in there and if by any chance there has been an error they’ve been incredibly quick and gracious at sorting it out. Yes it could be a little cleaner but I have seen them cleaning and tidying quite a bit, imo customers also need to clear up after themselves as well. I will continue to go here and enjoy the very good drinks (better than I’ve had at other Starbucks quite often).

The bin was overflowing, the toilets were really bad and my coffee really didn't taste of much. I was given an extra shot but I still couldn't really taste the coffee. Disappointing all round

This was the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been in. Waited 20 mins for a latte, it was filthy, toilets were filthy and the staff all looked 12 years old with the raging hump. In need of some serious attention.

I’ve often wondered how Starbucks can justify keeping such a scruffy filthy location on their books. Marlow is a beautiful town with a lovely high street and deserves good coffee shops. This ain’t it! It’s grubby with filthy toilet, dirty floors, surly teenage staff with no social skills and an ambience that reminds you of a mid 80s BHS cafeteria.

Extremely unprofessional staff. Drinking their drinks behind the counter whilst they are serving guests which is against health and safety when handling food and drink. Coughing and not washing or sanitising their hands. Joking around between eachother whilst customers are waiting to be served. Also stood their blatantly on their phone on social media.

Came in here as we needed to sit and chill for a while... ordered coffee, tea and 2 cakes.. not normally a fan of Starbucks coffee but this was nice...the café was very nice. The staff we on the ball and place place was generally clean, however the toilets needed a good clean as they were messy and Scruffy..

Friend ordered as I went to find a table. 4 people serving - one male had his mask under his nose covering his mouth only. All tables covered in dirty cups, napkins, split drinks etc. Floor also dirty. Surely one of the 4 could clear a table. I found one that the occupants leaving had cleared themselves onto a table marked out of use due to distancing. By the time we left after more than half an hour, no-one ad even looked at clearing tables. The guy now wore his mask under his chin. 4 behind counter chatting, no-one to serve but not clearing tables either. Didn't want to make a fuss as meeting a friend I rarely see, but did loudly comment on entry that all the tables were dirty and no staff attended. Will not go here again. Hope the maskless one doesn't infect the customers.

Visited with my sister today. Guy behind the counter was wearing a mask - underneath his bottom lip with nose and most of mouth exposed. Tables were dirty as we arrived and had last customers cups etc on them - and were still there as we left 45 minutes later. Not COVID safe at all.

I think this is only the third time I've ever been in a starbucks in my life so don't have much to compare it against. We were in marlow for a cycle ride on Sunday morning and struggled to find somewhere to get a take away bacon buttie and a drink, so opted for starbucks for a takeaway. Very long queue and slow service, 1 person taking orders and 1 person making drinks. Another member of staff appeared and made himself a coffee and heated himself up a panini then disappeared with his drink and breakfast. We ordered 2 bacon rolls and hot drinks. The bacon rolls were heated up and were ready in about 2 minutes. 13 minutes later the hot drink was ready. By this time the bacon rolls were cold (defeating the object of heating them up). Bacon roll was surprisingly quite nice. Would I visit again? No chance

Went in here for a coffee and Frappuccino with my daughter - was met with most tables being occupied by one person at each sat staring into laptops. The only free tables were covered with remnants from previous customers, so we had to remove that before we could actually sit down anywhere. Staff friendly enough but don’t have a clue when it comes to money - I gave the cashier/barista a note plus the correct coinage so that I would get less loose change back.......but that confused him and after entering an incorrect amount (double) I’d given him into the till, he then gave me half the amount of the change that I should have received. Then he gave me far too much change - which I pointed out to him (just as well I’m honest). It took him 3 attempts to get it right with me having to tell him in the end how much he owed me! It was generally quite dirty in there, the bin was overflowing and it looked like everything needed a good clean/wipe down. Also, it’s not what I call a very inviting coffee shop but to be honest, it never has been. I will be going elsewhere in the future and even though it’s my daughters first choice, she won’t convince me to go in there again in a hurry.

Starbucks are known to have very poor coffee at high prices, if your a true coffee drinker who can tell the differance between differant roasts the don't waste your time here at Starbuck.

I always wondered why Marlow Starbucks was not busy while most other Coffee shops in Marlow were packed. After visiting today I discoverd the reason: Unhappy staff, weak coffee, poor service, dirty tables and little atmosphere.

Every single time I go into this place it gets worse. The floor is ALWAYS utterly disgusting. I can’t remember the last time I sat in here for a coffee...I’d only suggest you take away unless you like sticky tables with other peoples used coffee cups and a floor that is never ever cleaned....and the loos I really enjoy the eggnog lattes which is the only reason I venture in this place, as it’s my local one, so I qued with my kids to get one today which listening to the girl behind the counter complain about a hole in her tights at the top so they kept falling down......great chat here as always!! To be told that they had no eggnog. I suggested they cross it off the board like every other Starbucks does. She shrugged her shoulders and that was that. A waste of time and so annoying to make my 3 and 7 year old wait for nothing. This place is a total shambles. Avoid. So many other much better coffee shops in Marlow. Visit them!

Dirty.......One young girl on the barista who was obviously stressed. One woman on the till who kept getting orders wrong and generally miserable. Felt very sorry for the young girl as she tried to keep happy. No manager present when asked. Poorly run and absolutely filthy. Will NOT go back ever.

Did not realise this coffee shop was dog friendly,so sat outside in the sunshine with the dog.Inside a bit gloomy,needs freshening up.Lots of people inside,all busy on their computers.Service slow,one young lady takes the order and another one completes it.A queue soon forms.Nevertheless,coffee very good but a bit pricey.

That is absolutely disgusting I went there on Monday with friends just because they like Starbucks and is even worst than was before . Starts from outside area passing front almost every table dirty Than I think the worst part of journey aa that the place from where I’m taking my drink and food Lots of staff and huge mess and rude service .One girl running around with spray after flys Few standing and watching each otherafter Nothing better Dirty tables sticky floor with rubbish around Toilets .... I think better standard you can find in the public toilet in one of the bus stations And the worst thing was that manager of that place was passing few times and actually she didn’t realised what’s going on That is really disgusting and unacceptable How you can keep place in that kind of condition I’m not here to make bad opinion as usually I’m not giving comments just avoiding place but that what I found there is not letting just to skip I hope someone will read my comment and take some advices for future

If I’m sitting surrounded by dirty old cups & plates for half an hour you might want to consider clearing them up!

Black, dirty, big empty spaces where nothing happens, sticky bits and stains, people waiting a long time for a coffee to go; a deeply depressing experience, like being in a dystopian novel, waiting for a train to take us into the mines.The coffee was okay if you like cappuccino by the bucket and young teenagers seem to use it as a meeting point.

Wouldn’t have expected a chain such as Starbucks to be anything less than spotless, this place was filthy! Arrived around 4pm with wife & kids, there was food and plastic bottles all under several tables- clearly from lunchtime several hours ago.....

Since Marlow Starbucks refurbishment - it’s a lot cleaner and nicer. Before it was quite dirty and dark. I have had very bad expierences were the coffee has been very bitter and my tea has been luke warm/cold!! Although, I went in to Starbucks and there were 2 very friendly baristas!

This place is a dump. I normally avoid Starbucks but most of the other coffee shops in Marlow were super busy and I wanted to use my laptop. No atmosphere, felt I a school canteen. Toilet floor covered with water, tables left uncleared. Upholstered seats dirty and staff were on automatic pilot with little engagement or any smiles. The door says they are refurbishing but I think there is more required than new furniture. I had a flat white with oat milk, it tasted really wierd probably a sweetened version and it just confirmed to me that Starbucks is not somewhere to visit again.

I'm not one for Starbucks in Marlow, as the stuff are always chatting away to one another, seemingly incompetent and slow; there is always a tremendously long queue, which is never good, and one can't help but feel aurally attacked by the screaming children who always seem to frequent the place.

What a dreadful shop. Tables taken up by people on laptops clearly not drinking coffee. Sprawled across two tables. Empty used dirty cups everywhere. Was asked to use paper cup as none clean!! The Cony needs to sort it policy out with these time wasting people putting off other customers using the place. Not coming back here again

Popped in for a Latte over the weekend. The staff were warm and welcoming, the coffee delicious but the venue looked tired and in need of a deep clean and facelift. Being third in the queue for a single basin toilet was also a pain in the neck. I would have rated 'poor' but for the coffee and the staff.

The place was very busy but coffee and wrap was served in good time. Staff didn’t stopping making coffees all the time we were there. Well done everyone

The coffee shops in Marlow compete for the crown of awfulness at the best of times. But the Starbucks is consistently the dirtiest, slowest and most incompetent of the bunch! Just avoid! The Thames tastes better!

We are regulars in Starbucks cafe, but the staff in this outlet are so sweet and smile to the customers. The place is tidy and the workers looks like they own the place, as they work so well and as a team. Well done and keep it up.

Returned this week after some time away from Marlow. Always like the Marlow Starbucks. Nice window seats and plenty of space to sit. Usually full of 6th formers revising. coffee and menu as normal.

I passed a couple of hours in here waiting for a friend who was in the area for business. The drinks are standard, the staff were friendly and the service was quick, even though I was behind someone ordering a long list of complicated drinks!

We don't frequent high street coffee outlets so I can't comment on the standard.

Starbucks is pretty uniform so do t expect anything different. On the plus side, it is pretty big with plenty of seating. There are a few seats outside and they can roll back the front side doors if the weather is nice. Inside it is pretty deep and can be a bit dark towards the back. Usual service and selection.

I rarely come to Marlow , please don’t bother having a coffee in this Starbucks. This has to be the worse Starbucks I have ever had the miss fortune to come across . When I attended the coffee shop it was almost empty however there was a queue at the counter . The member of staff who asked for my order initially which I gave suddenly turned away and started to talk to another member of staff, in other words totally ignored me . After the conversation with the other member of staff she came back to me . Well the two capachinos were disgusting with a very strange taste . My wife could only stomach two sips . My wife attended the toilet and said they were in a disgusting state looking like they had not been cleaned for a number of days . I got to agree with the previous reviewer the whole place looks like it needs a good clean . I really thought I would never be forced to review a Starbucks , well Starbucks is Starbucks and does exactly what it says on the tin , but this place has to be highlighted .

I am a Starbucks lover, however ... Marlow Starbucks is disgusting always filthy seating area and on the stand for sugar and milk. Staff are always talking rather than working so that’s probably why no work gets done. Starbucks clean up your act in Marlow.

Seem to be getting less and less coffee every visit. The cold drinks are ok but the hot drinks are just missing anywhere from 20-25% of the drink. The staff are super friendly but the portion control is horrendous. Must try harder.

This branch of Starbucks is just not up to scratch. Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Mostly talking to each other and ignoring customers. Luke warm coffee.

Right in the middle of the High Street, this branch of Starbucks is deceptively large. Some nice seating by the windows, with the rest of the cafe a little dark. Can get busy and you may need to queue, but coffe is well made and as you like it.

We are regular visitors to Starbucks wherever we travel but felt the Marlow shop was not one of the best. The staff were not particularly friendly and the place could do with a good clean. There is a lot of competition in Marlow with other independent coffee shops so other better choices to visit.

Stopped off at this Starbucks for a coffee and a snack. The food (fruit toast) and coffee (coconut milk cappuccino) were delicious. Both hot and pleasant.

Great hot coffee (not served lukewarm like a lot of places) Lots of seating. Open til early evening on a Sunday. Friendly staff. Lots of cake and pastries, they looked good but we just had coffee. Loo wasn't clean and I had to clear the table before we sat down but it was late in the afternoon and I assume they had been busy all day

Pleasant staff and lot of armchairs especially at the back to sit on. Filter coffee only £1.50! Just beware of the 'screaming kids brigade at certain times of day!

There is nothing special about this branch of Starbucks - the coffee, the location, the decor are all 100% what you expect to find in any branch. It is let down by the staff. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and assume this is down to lack of training and poor management. I was asked to move so that they could clean, nobody else in the area was asked to move and it was an hour until closing - so I declined. No voices were raised or inappropriate language used, but the staff member persisted and another customer commented that they were harassing a customer. I don't need this when I go for a coffee, won't be returning to this branch and will avoid Starbucks in general - there are so many coffee shops on the high street that poor customer service doesn't need to be tolerated - goodbye Starbucks, you suck!

I popped in to Starbucks Marlow on a weekend morning for a coffee and treat with my children.

Roseanna served me with a smile and impeccable manners, I was sat near the bar for 20 minutes and I listened to her laughing and joking with every customer she served!

I went for a coffee with my family on Sunday morning at 11.30 am, we had been visiting Marlow and decided to enjoy the locality and stop for a coffee..... I was served by some surly youngster called Roseanna, I spent £14.15 on six drinks, there was no please no thank you, just ; THAT WIL LBE £14.15 , based on that experience I will never be revisitng and hence am writing this review, shame because the rest of the staff there were very pleasant, just this young person was lacking in manners... you won't be getting a tip from me with bad manners like that....

Decent coffee and warmed chocolate pastry eaten inside the restaurant. Staff polite and friendly. Offered to heat my pastry and served it quickly.

Cheap, tacky, the furniture is all wreaked, the dish washer is frequently broken (so coffee can only be served in plastic cups). Toilets are disgusting. How this place hasn't been closed down by environmental health is beyond me . Coffee is poor and cakes stale

I dislike Starbucks generally, but this is a particularly bad one. I've been in twice recently to meet someone and was shocked by how filthy it was both times. Tables all over the place with dirty cups and unwanted food on them. Food and paper cups on the floor. No china cups as supposedly the dish washer was broken. Staff busy talking to each other rather than the customers.

I'm a big Starbucks fan and so criticism doesn't come naturally but the Marlow branch is seriously letting the brand down. This Sunday afternoon the service was slow, the staff lethargic and lacking focus and the whole place, including the toilets, was in need of a thorough clean. A very disappointing experience and not recommended.

Convenient to shopping and our hotel. We used the wifi which worked well! We were able to get a decaf mocha that tasted just like the Starbucks at home! We will definitely be back!

We visit Marlow often and have a cup of coffee with a cake during our visit. I have drunk coffee and had a snackin many Starbucksallover the world and the one near the Peninsula hotel is excellent. They can do so much better but their coffee is very reasonable if not outstanding.

This is Starbucks but you would never know it. The place is filthy, toilets dirty and even cups unclean. Needs some serious management input and some capital investment. Don't go there!

I like the pike coffee here, generally the place is quite dirty though and busy but as its the only starbucks around I have no choice but to get my coffee from here.

Stopped here for a Christmas fudge hot chocolate, absolutely awful worst I've had, couldn't taste any chocolate just tasted like hot milk with the tiniest hint of fudge very disappointed. Don't think I'll bother next time!

We had coffees here couple of occasion, service was fast and our coffees and cakes were delicious. On our second visit it was so busy, it was hard to grab a seat.

I usually try to visit independent coffee shops but needed to find a place where my elderly father could sit and there was plenty of room in this Starbucks. However, the interior all seemed a bit run down and dated, not particularly inviting. Loos weren't pleasant. Coffee was nice (pricey) but I wouldn't choose to visit here again.

This place is disgusting. Flies all around the kitchen, tables not cleared and rubbish on the floor. Serve serve serve and forget the customer. Never again. Sort it out Starbucks isn't about time you invested in a refit and took some pride in your brand??!

What has happened to this place? Haven't been for a year and I found today that it was dirty and the inside looked drab and in need of redecoration and refurbishment. The staff were going through the motions but were unfocussed and didn't exactly hurry. The lavatory was smelly and dirty with broken fitments and clearly it is not cleaned properly every day. The corridor leading to the lavatory was in a poor state of repair. Tables were not wiped down - just cleared. The hot chocolate I had was powdery and unpleasant to drink. There are plenty of better places in Marlow and they will be getting my custom in future. Sad, because as a brand I have used Starbucks, mainly in London and always found the outlets to be reliable.

Visited to buy my daughter a drink who is a regular in coffee shops unlike her dad. To be charged £7 to wait over 20 minutes for two frappacinos(?) is completely unacceptable. Two staff and very few customers at the time but a very long wait.

I'm an usual Starbucks customer but i'm not a big fan of this one. It is full all the time which is ok but the place is not usually clean, it looks messy most of the time.

Lovely coffee and friendly service. Very chatty barista and drinks were made quite quickly. Went on a lovely sunny day and it was great to have the front of the coffee shop completely open to let the sun in

This is a hopping place but it is clear the management team values speedy and personal service. Right on the high street and lots of seating this is comfortable and welcoming. Coffee is always consistently good and food choices are Starbucks regulars.

I had to spend a few hours in Starbucks Marlow today. I passed the time doing some work on my computer but had a chance to observe the staff. They were all really friendly and mega-efficient.

Sunday 4.15 went in for a quick coffee and toasted sandwich.asked after 10 mins where my sandwich was? Just as I asked another customer walked up and said that theyd had the sandwich slammed down on theyr table and hadnt ordered it??? I didnt wish to eat something that had gone astray? So they made me another one 10 mins later then slammed it down on my table without any appology!! The girl shot off and chatted and started eating stuff with some bloke....gotta go back to work but sges still chatting away and ignoring the customers!!

The location is good, on the high street, in keeping with the general area. The seating area was inviting, offerings standard and on a par with other locations - staff friendly enough but some not particularly efficient.

Good staff, good coffee and a nice large seating area. In my experience Starbucks can vary significantly but this wasnt bad at all

I don't know why I thought I would get a good cup of coffee how silly of me. What was a complete surprise was the staff looking bored and uninteresting-wishing they were anywhere else

Starbucks is always a winner with me. I love the choice and tried the gingerbread latte today, which didn't disappoint. I also recommend the cheese and marmite toastie - it was really yum!

This Starbucks is ideally placed half way down the High Street in this beautiful Thames-side town. Plenty of comfortable seating. A good range of snack foods on display. And the usual quality coffee. The only problem was the staff who were so busy talking among themselves that they forgot to prepare two of our six drinks ordered - and no apology when this was pointed out!
