Starbucks in Southwark

An invisible experience at the Starbucks in Tyldesley on Saturday, opposite Greggs. I was the only person waiting to be served when I arrived. There were a few customers sat down with coffees. There must have been 5 or 7 members of staff doing and making coffee's etc They were laughing and joking amongst themselves and I would say most of them had turned at some point and looked at me (or should I say through me), a couple of them perhaps more than once shall we say. Not one member off staff acknowledged me to say 'we'll be with you shortly'. Nothing. I was obviously waiting to be served as I clearly was holding a sandwich that needed warming leaning up against the counter by the till. A few minutes passed still nothing. Ordinarily, I would say something but this had now become 'a thing' an interesting 'thing'. I decided I would give this a few more minutes, secretly thinking someone will acknowledge me soon. Another guy joined the queue behind me. I must have waited well over 5 minutes in total. I decided to return the sandwich to the shelf and leave. As I walked across the carparks towards Subway, I turned back and noticed the guy behind me had left empty handed too. Why was it interesting? If someone from head office or some official from Starbucks was there that day would my experience been different? better? Who knows. What I do know is I have been a very long time fan of Starbucks over the years but I have noticed a trend recently that customer service has taken a nose dive across multiple stores. I wonder what has happened. It will be a long time before I revisit Starbucks. Head Office! A new training programme is required. By comparison, Subway was an great experience with a little banter and a smile. It doesn't take much really does it. Acknowledge the customer, smile and make a sale.

Just went in the Starbucks with my family coming over to visit London . This red hair girl who at the customer service were horrible service. I asked her is they do smoothie here she replied very rude to us and she doesn’t even want to answer . Yes we are visitors we love London but the way she treats customers it’s just ruined our day in london . And we never come to this shop again .

Durante la nostra vacanza a Londra abbiamo fatto un break presso uno degli Starbucks londinesi. Ubicato a Londra (GB), lungo Shad Thames Street, a pochi passi dal famoso Tower Bridge, facilmente raggiungibile a piedi e con i mezzi pubblici. Il locale ben arredato e molto luminoso, scarsa però la pulizia e l'ordine dei tavoli. Abbiamo ordinato due bevande rinfrescanti: un mango dragonfruit ed un dragon coconut. Le due bevande erano quasi senza sapore, tanto ghiaccio e sciroppo stra diluito per dare colore, il mango ed il cocco non si sentivano. Il personale poco attento nel preparare gli ordini e nel rivolgersi con i clienti. I tempi di attesa troppo lunghi ed il locale non era nemmeno pieno. Abbiamo pagato l'equivalente di 10,50 sterline totale per due persone (due bevande con ghiaccio) pagando direttamente con la funzione wallet del cellulare. Un problema sono stati anche i servizi igienici: due a disposizione ma solo uno aperto al pubblico (non capisco il motivo), lunghe attese, poco puliti e carenza di carta. Ci sono sicuramente altri bar/caffettiere nei dintorni con una maggiore attenzione per l'ordine e la pulizia. Non credo che ci torneremo.

Vi skulle have en kop kaffe og te og lige låne toilettet. Kaffen og teen var fin men stedet virkede uorganiseret og var decideret beskidt. Borde og stole trængte til rengøring og toilettet var direkte ulækkert…

The staff are extremely rude,no customer service . The only toilet available was disgusting.On entrance the floor was swimming in water ,well I hope it was only water !! The bins were overflowing with dirty nappies and used sanitary towels and tampons. Sanitary towels were put behind the taps so I felt I could not use the bathroom at all, after queuing for twenty minutes or more. Very unhygienic not keeping up with sanitising areas and no checks on the toilet,no hazard signs up making people aware of slippery floors..... I approached a staff member who was by the toilets and explained politely about the toilet,he totally ignored me as did the staff member behind the coffee bar. On returning to my family we left,leaving our food and drinks.

In UK people traditionally prefer to drink tea. We are coffee drinkers. Starbucks coffee is the brand of good coffee. Here you will find good pastry in addition.

Im not a Starbucks fan generally but had read a lot about Starbucks Reserve in the states and was excited to see them hit the UK. travelled to Chad Thames especially for this and was shocked to find nothing but a regular grotty, dirty store with unhelpful staff. It wasn't busy so i was hoping to try their Speciality grade coffee on pour-over and my wife the Clover brewing method. We were told the grinders were broken so couldn't have anything from the reserve menu. The shop was dirty as in clearly not being cleaned properly, food debris ground in to places, furniture falling apart and tatty. There was nothing that made this place stand out as special which is how Starbucks sell Reserve. attention to detail. speciality coffee and various brewing methods with proper baristas who know about coffee and how to brew it. none of this was present. wasted trip across London.

The best Starbucks coffee I’ve ever had! Very friendly staff. They are dog friendly! Nice atmosphere and very big, open space. Large selection of coffee travel cups to buy.

Unfriendly staff and overpriced was balanced up by the location. It was more of use as a toilet than the drink but it served a purpose

Very rude bartender! Around 3:30pm, I went in this Starbucks and had a cup of tea. After ordered & paid, I wanted to use the toilet, for god’s sake, I believe many of the customers are not only enjoying a drink but also use the toilet! But later I found out the toilet was out of service, then I went back to the counter and politely asked a bartender named Josh [-] that if there is any other toilet I can go to, he replied rudely, you need go to the neighbouring restaurant and use their toilet, I had thought Starbucks had got a temporary permission for Starbucks customers to use the next-door toilet because of its own break-down, so I asked “ do I need to say to next door restaurant that I’m a customer of Starbucks?” Josh [-] replied very impatiently “ no, it’s up to them whether allow you to use it or not!” As a customer, I just felt so unwelcoming, Josh [-] even didn’t say a word of “ sorry” let alone apologise for causing the inconvenience to the customers! In my opinion,he needs a proper training ! By the way, it wasn’t busy at all in Starbucks, he has plenty of time to treat a customer nicely and friendly!

Service and staff are fine, but the music is more suited to a night club than a coffee shop. I visit Starbucks throughout the UK and worldwide, and have never heard obtrusive music like this played through tinny speakers at a volume that interferes with conversation. It has to be a manager/staff choice. It definitely loses them business - but I guess the manager doesn't care.

I have been there so many times. A few years ago my partner use to work there and they were working hard to do a good costumer service but now the service is rubbish. THEY DIDNT LOOK AT US AT ANY MOMENT, RUDE AS HELL. When we were there they were having some trouble with another costumers because their poor service. You can notice they don't like to work there. They like to argue without trying to find a solution. THEY LIKE TO TALK TO YOU AS THEY ARE MORE THAN YOU, always without making eye contact and they make you feel they don't care you are a costumer. Also the condiment bar was empty and so DIRTY. I recommend you go to another Starbucks where someone can recommend you, where they treat you as you deserve. IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO WORK THERE JUST CHANGE THE JOB.

Inglesi e americani in particolare ci passano le giornate, ma va tanto anche girare per la città con i bicchieroni con dentro caffè(certo non il nostro ristretto!)

I nice spot for a break or for lunch. there are interesting views of the adjoining courtyard with a large water tank surrounded by naked women diving in or pulling the tank or just leaning against it. Back to Starbucks.I enjoyed a comfortable seat, a cup of tea and a muffin. My only complaint was that the teabag floated on the surface of the mug of tea.

Podczas całego pobytu w Londynie, Starbucks był jedną z lepszych miejsc, gdzie można wypić dobrą kawę, choć ceny nie są najniższe.

Blimey, come on guys it's first thing in the morning, the ambience was like a bloody night club. One toilet isn't sufficient either for a premises of this size, next time I'll grab a coffee next door.

Il faisait trop chaud. La vue était juste bien. J'ai commandé un ice-tea, mais le couvercle mal mis,avec la paille impossible. J'étais obligé de l'enlever. En été,on dirait que le stager qui nous servait.

Rude staff because my daughter went into the kitchen, put a gate. Alec if you have to be rude I recommend you change job. In top of that you cannot take order we ask take away and get serve a mug.

No tenían mi rubia asado ni aceptan mi bebida gratis de la tarjeta oro. También no tienen mitad y mitad. Yo lo atribuimos todo esto hasta estar en un país distinto. El espacio era genial y muy limpio y despejado.

데이터가 잘 안되어서 와이파이를 찾아 급히 들어간 곳입니다. 에스프레소 더블 샷을 마셨는데 나름 준수한 수준이었습니다. 위치도 접근하기 편하고 직원도 친절합니다.

הרשת הבינלאומית בסטנדרט שלה, מומלץ בעיקר למשקאות המפורסמים שלה ולא למאפים הדיי דלוחים. פארנקצ'ינו תמיד מעולה שם.

Luogo tipico da catena, dove sia il tè con il latte e i frappè non sono male, non ho assaggiato il caffè sconsigliato da amici sia italiani che londinesi. Quando ordini un frappè ti chiedono il nome, per potertelo consegnare appena viene fatto.

Una pausa per un caffè espresso doppio( qui si usa) e un po' di connessione per vedere sms e mail.

Ancora prima del nostro viaggio a Londra mia figlia mi ha fato capire fra i posti che voleva conoscere uno era Starbucks. Io non amo particolarmente quel tipo di locali, ma si sa, cosa non fare per i figli. In realtà non sono male, si trovano parecchi tipi di caffè cappuccini e dolcetti. Il locale era carino ed aveva anche tavolini all'aperto. Certamente non sono i più economici, ma una volta ogni tanto possono andare bene.

Sempre muito bom. Café quentinho, chá, biscoitos, wifi, porém não é lá que se toma o tradicional chá Inglês.

Mia figlia non vedeva l'ora di provare Starbucks e infatti dopo un'assillante richiesta l'abbiamo portata una mattina per fare colazione in quei bicchieri chiusi con i fori da dove bere...era felicissima....

it's hard to actually comment on anything when it's chain, but the service was nice and friendly, the coffee and pastry good. and they even spelled my name correctly, what else can you ask for?

Starbucks is always consistent no matter where you go in the world, which is why I always visit one on my trips. As usual this one was busy and service was great.

Le café est égal à tous les autres Starbucks mais alors les "pâtisseries" sont vraiment à fuir (fades, chargées en sucres). Le personnel est impatient et peu sympathique.Prix assez élevé (2 cafés et un muffin : 8 livres)

Being that we have Starbucks just about in every other 20 blocks or so in the USA, going to a Starbucks is no big deal. But! on a rainy day such as the afternoon my sisters and I were walking thru the area of Tower Bridge, finding a Starbucks was a real Treat! The staff were not to friendly but we got what we came for, our double shot "Lattes" and they were very good, we had it with some pound cake and the combo is always good. Manager needs to work a bit on the staff's manners. Don't think I would stop at this Starbucks again. There are also other very good Coffee Shops in London.

Not untypical of many Starbucks .... Consistent ... Coffee and food is what you expect .. Not brilliant but not bad ... The staff are again consistent .... Except for Gedas ... Nice location at the middle of shad Thames but I am not impressed with their increased prices because of its location. Not really fair. Location and size good though.

Usual Starbucks atmosphere and fare.I couldn't believe that with a long queue one of the two staff spent her time cleaning the pastry display cabinet rather than serving.This was despite people complaining, tut-tutting and walking out.I assumed that she was not allowed to serve but as soon as she had finished cleaning (15 minutes) she started serving.Unbelievable contempt for the customer.

As a regular Starbucks user I have my favourites (if you are ever in Kingston Milton Keynes try the one there) & I count this one as my favourite London store. This is mainly due to it's location - underneath Butlers Wharf (next to Tower Bridge ).Usual MO is getting all cheared up on a double strength hot choc with a shot of vanilla and then 'window shop' in the estate agent windows for the dream apartment - thoroughly recommend it!

Tables were filthy and garbage on the floors. the staff were so slow. I realize it was crowed and very few seats but will not be back here.

O Frapuccino de morango é muito mais gostoso do que o daqui do Brasil. O local é bem confortável e tem internet gratuita.

Vale a pena experimentar as variedades de cafés e os milk shakes, o lanche também é delicioso. Em frente a tower bridge tem um que é maravilhoso para ficar observando a paisagem.

stopped here on during our sightseeing tour to London. Nothing great, was a bit crowded so decided to order a coffee-to go..the food choice was less probably due to being very crowded, did not have much choice and therefore did not fancy ordering anything apart from a coffee to go.

テムズ川沿いの遊歩道を散歩する途中に立ち寄りました。結構店内は広々として観光客やローカルの人など多くの人がのんびりと寛いていました。景色が良くで気持ち良い席もあり、散歩に疲れたらちょっと休憩でコーヒーブレイクするのも良いと思います。

Called here yesterday after walking from Green Park along the South Bank, ordered 2 coffees and a rhubarb danish, coffee ok but have had better danish very dry and certainly no taste of rhubarb. Staff ok not over friendly, sat outside which was fairly pleasant, only one unusex toilet so expect long queues, thought it very overpriced for what you get. Would only use again if desperate for a drink

Good for a fast snack and coffee. Wide selection of sandwiches, cakes and baguettes. Standards are kept high allover the outlets.
