Starbucks in Gateshead

We went through drive thru on our way home from the metro centre. I chose to go for a refreshing fruity drink so I opted for the Mango & Dragonfruit Starbucks Refresha. This can be made with Water or Lemonade so I decided to go for the Lemonade option. The drink was very tasty and I would certainly get it again when visiting Starbucks.

Sometimes you can feel rushed in a busy shop but the staff were great. Drinks were good and it was very clean and tidy. 3 coffees and one soft drink was our order.

We visited Starbucks Upper Red Mall in Metrocentre today. We found a seat ..the place was quiet -not surprisingly. I cleaned the table with a wipe and awaited the drinks. Looking around i was shocked. There was litter all over the floor and a spillage that had been there long enough to dry up. There were many tables with bits of food and dirty cups on them. We only stayed because I needed the loo and quick break. Both staff behind the counter were busy chatting (despite all the mess) i ventured to the loo..Worst decision ever. Came straight out again without using it. There was used tissue on the sink, the floor and the around the toilet itself. There was no loo roll and worse of all there was a used sanitary product on TOP of the sanitary bin UNWRAPPED. 🤮 YUK!!! Avoid this Starbucks

We had just arrived at the metro centre and decided to have a coffee before we started to shop. We had parked in the red mall,so the Starbucks was just their. Lovely polite staff. We ordered two coffee s. The coffee were very good.

Restaurant very dirty...engrained dirt not just from today...staff unwilling to wipe tables... food and drink thrown at you... a wholly unpleasant experience!

Popped into the upstairs Starbucks for a quick coffee and croissant this morning before shopping. The lady took my order and received my coffee quite quickly and then waited for my croissant and waited and waited. During this time people behind me were collecting their hot snacks, so I waited and waited. I then ask the lady who served me if I could have my croissant….no apology just “yes I’m getting it” I said I have been waiting a while and she look at me and said “I’m getting it”. Not what I expect and found her quite rude. Probably try another cafe in future

Just called in for a cup of tea (don't like the coffee as its too bitter for us). What a waste of money, the 'tea' had a strange taste, it certainly didn't taste like tea more like dishwasher. We both had two sips and couldn't take any more. Truly awful.

Dropped in for coffee and cake. As usual with Starbucks the food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. The service at this branch was good too. No complaints.

Visit here quite often for my coffee. If you go in peak times your looking at a long wait in the queue for the drive thru. The inside is modern and clean. You can easily order on the app and pick up at the from door. This is what I do but because of the queues it takes longer to get into the car park as the Starbucks traffic clogs everything up. Staff are very nice and friendly. They help with an issues such as not blending the drinks enough. ( as there was bits in the bottom of the drink).

All the staff are working incredibly hard especially at times like these, all super happy and kind. The queue was huge since re opening but the service and speed was super fast, didn't even have to wait that long. Really grateful for the staff working so hard!!!

Stood for at least ten minutes in a queue of 6 people, the service was just unacceptable, and the quality of the drinks so poor, Trying to relax with the constant noise of chairs scrapping off the floor, Next time it will be Costa.

Great friendly team we pop in most days. The staff know our drinks off by heart. Always clean and tidy lovely staff are a credit to Starbucks I can't remember all names molly Colin as, my hubby orders the drinks as I get best comfy seats. They all have a chat why we go so often feel like we're valued customers!!!! Our favourite chill out time as the service is above and beyond for a coffee shop

Great service and good selection of different drinks and sizes. Came to this one first time for a break from shopping. Would recommend.

Had drinks and cakes usual standard and high prices paying for name etc but we only called in as was almost empty and other coffee shops full.sat in corner ,dull music played and its dark and uninviting place.staff ok

We popped in they had music blasting for one. We had the coffees and went far from. Relaxing. 2 young staff chatting on one while serving not the best customer service. Won't go back in a hurry!

Me and my wife went here but instead of going through the drive thru we went inside. The girl who was serving was so rude, didn't smile, didn't chat or say thanks and when my wife got her drink (a mocha frappe) it was more like a cup of milk. My wife asked for it to be changed and the girl didn't say anything, instead taking the drink and giving my wife a one which was a little better. Probably avoid this one moving forward.

We had the meeting at Starbucks upper mall next to Debenhams, it was a great place to go with plenty of room & service was good, also the coffee was good, nice place to visit.

The service in this Starbucks is very slow and unfriendly. The tables were covered in crumbs and the floor was filthy. The coffee and products are standard ‘bucks fayre. Will not be visiting in future.

Coffee weak and tasteless. Not very clean place either. Only gave the 2 stars because the cake was nice we had . Will definitely give all Starbucks a miss .

My daughter and I visited this Starbucks, the Saturday before the Great North Run, purely to let the traffic dissipate as it was so busy. I like Starbucks as does my daughter as she gets a Pumpkin Spice Latte (when in season) but on this occasion, and this was my first visit to this particular Starbucks, I was very disappointed - not with the coffees, but with the state of the place. The floor, the seats and the tables were filthy. This wasn't because the staff were 'run off their feet' because they were not. The coffee was good, as usual, but I don't live in filth so don't expect to drink/dine in filth. I won't be going back there.

I visit Starbucks when I am up in the metro centre. Today's service was quick and the service was good. The staff make sure that there clear up the tables after someone has sat there also make sure there keep it a clear environment for customers weather it's a regular or not. Also the staff are good knowledge of coffee and the Starbucks coffee blends what there sell. The coffee I got to day was good quality.

This Starbucks is level access. I was able to leave my mobility scooter near the entrance and walk with my stick to a near table, which has bench seating, making it easy to sit and get back up again. Drinks and food are ordered at the counter, but if you ask, the staff are very helpful and will bring your drinks when ready to your table. A good selection of Starbucks coffee is available here, or tea if you have wandered over to the dark side! I am always happy to see my favourite cakes and toasted fruit loaf, which is almost like a flat toasted teacake with butter and jam. Perfect for an 11am mid morning snack! Had some lovely drinks and snacks in here, staff helpful, relaxing 30 minutes, what more can you ask for? Power sockets near the tables too if you need to charge your phone or use a laptop

Always love going to this starbucks. Great welcome and great staff. The staff create a good environment and always enjoy seeing the familiar faces. Keep up the good work 👍

We didn't rate the coffee or breakfast in the hotel we stayed at from previous stays, so this was a convenient place to walk to. The yoghurt with oats plus toasted fruit bread (comes with a small pot of jam) and a cappuccino was enough for me and the all-day breakfast 'bun' was enjoyed by hubby and son. It was nice to be somewhere that was relaxed and some good, chilled jazz was being played. Several people were making the most of the wifi and plug sockets so if you need to work on your laptop, this place caters for that too. There is a drive through too.

My husband enjoys Starbucks! Especially the choice of cakes and sandwiches! The cappuccino is a good choice or the hot chocolate with cream !

Our hotel coffee was undrinkable so we were grateful that Starbucks (a drive-thru even) was close by. Gave me either non-dairy or just off milk on my first visit, unfortunately we were off on our days adventure before I realised I'd be pouring out my latte. No issues on our other four visits, and never overly busy.

This is the most recent Starbucks at the Metrocentre - there are at least two others in the actual shopping mall itself - but this one is on the outer road and after some road reorganisation now has to be accessed from the south lane of Hollinside Road - between the retail parks heading towards the A1.It has been here for a while alongside the Krispy Kreme Do-nut store and others.Great service although I have never actually used it as a drive -thru - I'm never in that much of a hurry!
