Starbucks in Reading - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

I am not a coffee fan. I have friends and family members that are, very much, coffee fans. That means that they like Starbucks. So I have been to many Starbucks over the years. I wanted to put that in context before I said this. This is one of the nicest Starbucks that I have ever visited! It is located on the north side of the cobblestone walking part of Broad Street. It is a corner store and has large windows along both sides of the store. The inside of the store has more and more types, of seating than I have seen in other stores. It has light wood floors, comfortable chairs, and various table chair combinations. The store was very inviting and clean although busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The counter is located along the east side of the store in the standard store configuration. The menu is behind the counter and they had a good collection of food and drinks that you would expect at these stores. You order at one end of the counter and pay and your drinks are delivered at the other end. I got an iced tea and was pleased with the results. Overall it was a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to travellers in the area both as a respite from a busy travel day or just a place to get a good relaxing drink. Enjoy!

Here is a copy of my complaint to Starbucks head office this is my review also on here. Drink Review: My coffee was fine but for a black coffee it was weak though My letter of complaint: Asked for a Small Black Americano I was asked if it was take away or to have in. I asked to have it in. I got charged an extra 5p than advertised. The server did not asked if I wanted my coffee in a takeaway cup. Charged me for it. I did point out I did not ask for a take away cup. I asked to have it in. Supervisor came over to help with my request. I explained that I didn't ask for a takeaway cup, I asked to have my coffee in, I got charged for take away cup, I explained I asked for it in means I wanted a normal cup. She said I am not a regular visitor (should not be an excuse) so the server didn't know and people do have coffee inside and ask for it to be in a takeaway cup. I said yes they do but I didn't ask for a paper cup in the first place. When I trying to explain how bad the service was or I had a good response to her. She said I had an attitude problem and would get her manager to ban me. Also there are other starbucks in town. I replied I am aware of Reading (Town we are in). She said it has been busy today, I explained it doesn't matter its the service your giving to customers. It's not the about the 5p it's the principle. Once my refund was given and my coffee was made for me the barrister said sarcastically Black Americano in a "Ceramic Mug". To be threatened with a store ban for pointing out bad service and not giving a customer full information at the till. Coming out with counter arguments to Supervisor is ludicrous. I'd expect that threat for more severe behavior from a customer. At no stage I said anything about the person personally or was swearing. Yet I feel like I was treated like I did.

It was OK having your order taken but I had to wait 20 minutes for them to make my drink and it should of been a cup to have in but it was in a take away cup. I will not be going back

I occasionally go here for a breakfast roll and usually the service is good and the staff pleasant. Not today. It took ages for the roll to be heated up and when I opened the bag up the roll had clearly been dropped into the bag as the contents had come out. I was not initially asked for sauce and had to chase for that and when I asked it was as if I was putting them out. At least in Reading there are other Starbucks to go to.

We came yesterday to an amazing starbucks for Pumpkin spice latte with my husband and kids. We ordered lemon muffin which was so delicious and staff here is so kind and nice. We will come back here for sure. Delicious vegan and chicken wraps at sampling were great as well and for freeeee!🤗🤗🤗👌👌👌

Amazing staff, they were look after me and my family when we our family tea time. Lady on counter offer a lot of extras and convince me to loyalty. This was our first visit but for sure not the last one :)

I wanted to go to Costa Coffee, but was outnumbered. They were not too busy so service was quick. Cakes and cookies are expensive (as in most of these types of places) My order was for a chai latte - it was a little weak, but OK.

🤦🏻‍♂️ 15 minute wait in the queue - bear in mind there were only 3 people in front of me. Then 15 minute wait for the coffee which they got wrong and “huffed” at me and tutted. Didn’t want to wait another 15 minutes for them to make another one so just took my wrong coffee and left. Sod waiting 45 minutes. Jokw

Every time when I visit been served by beautiful lady Debbie with a lovely smile and great service. It is good place to chill with friends and family.

Lovely and warm place where you can take rest and enjoy the monent. The staff is amazing especially Manfredi, very friendly and always with a beautiful smile.

Great Staff very friendly. Clean and good atmosphere. It was early when I arrived so not many people there. Great coffee and breakfast.

Standup & seated split - tables useful in compact space - hearty mug of coffee -low on content and not high on quality

I've been popping in to this branch over the past year and wanted To leave a review based on consistency. While I prefer independent coffee shops, I find myself coming here because the staff are just so lovely. This is a busy and central location, I'm sure it can be an overwhelming job at times but the staff are always so welcoming - keep it up guys :)

Myself and my girlfriend have been going to this starbucks for years - sometimes buying multiple coffees and food, sometimes just to read a book, or to chill and eat our lunch together. We must have both collectively spent hundreds of pounds here. We have decided to come in to get away from the cold but we were immediately approached by one of the workers (Monika, I believe?) saying "Are you going to buy anything?" rather bluntly, and aggressively, before we had even sat down. We said no, but we may do in a minute. The rest of our lunch goes smoothly. The next day, we get approached by what I can only guess is the on-site manager, immediately asking us to leave if we aren't going to buy anything because we "Were seen sitting down without buying anything the day before." Yet we have been doing this for years, without issue (with 80% of the time, buying a coffee and/or food - each!). Bearing in mind, that the building was half empty because it was about 1:30 at the time, so the lunch rush had already ended, so it's not like we were taking the seats away from other potential customers. I can gladly say I will never go to this starbucks again - the staff were rude, the tables are consistently dirty, never before have I been asked to leave before we even had a chance to get up and buy anything. Just not really what you want to experience when you have an hours lunch to get away from work for a while.

Non sono un'appassionata del caffè di Starbucks... ma è bello potersi fermare in questi tranquilli locali, mettersi ai tavolini per tutto il tempo che si vuole e godersi un po' di tempo per se'.

Stopped here for an evening coffee with my sister. Quality drink as always from Starbucks. Seating and coffee shop setting really nice and chic - great atmosphere. Staff jolly & friendly.

Been here a few times I live close to Starbucks. Looks quite messy and untidy. Service is ok but they were doing the closing with 1h before felt like they were rushing us out. Don't feel for going back.

Starbucks is Starbucks but this is one of the nicest ones I've been to! There's big windows all around overlooking broad street, perfect for people watching. The staff here are really lovely and take the time to chat with you.

Used here once, the table was filthy and sticky. No point in cleaning tables with a dirty cloth as it makes them gross all over, but worse than that was that was obviously done 4 or 5 guests ago from the mug rings still visible. The coffee is starbucks standard so no variation on what you'd expect, nice coffee but there are other coffee houses in Reading (lots of them) that are cleaner to visit. I also made the mistake of trying to use the toilet before leaving here. I know the staff cant be blamed for what some 'animals' had done in there but the shear state of it had clearly been there a while and water all over the floor to its gross. I turned around and walked out to go elsewhere and advised the guy walking passed me to go in to do the same, which from how quickly he seemed to appear after me he must have agreed with me. The worry is that's a food premises and with filth facilities like that and no robust cleaning of the dining area it must be a haven for nasties. I wouldn't return to this branch again.

We were shopping in reading and decided to pop into Starbucks for a coffee and a break from shopping. when we went in there it was really popular however we found a seat and got our drinks and sat down. however the tables were dirty with cups and plates left on the table. It wasn't to the usual Starbucks standard.

Staff in there are so friendly and plenty of space to do your business work with nice cup of coffee,my favorite place now .Staff are always smiling .

I just want to start by saying I actually love Starbucks, I love the coffee, the food is incredible, the staff are always friendly and most will go out of they're way to help you. Except that is in this Starbucks.

The quality of coffee is good but I would not say the same about the food or the speedy service! The service is a bit slow and sometimes the place is not as clean as you wish (empty cups and dishes would be found all around)! Maybe this shop needs more staff!

I came here for a quiet read and a skinny caramel latte. The coffee was fine however the cafe was very dirty. My table was sticky so I had to proactively find someone to clean it. The free table on my left had crushed cookies on the floor and the table on my right had dirty tissues on the chair. The staff ignored this and left the area dirty during my stay.

7:29 on a cold Monday morning and I'm looking forward to a nice cup of Earl Grey tea because Starbucks Earl Grey is the best. Alas and alack they don't have any nor does the barista seem to care. I opt for an coffee which tastes like an ashtray smells. Grrr.

This Starbucks next to Oracle main entrance is the perfect place to chill and enjoy a good coffee. With panoramic views of the high street and comfi sofas and chairs. 👍🏻

Ассортимент у них везде стандартный,и я бы и не подумала писать про них отзыв, но в этом кафе мне очень не нравится то, что горячие напитки с собой наливают до краев стаканчика. Я его даже до двери донести не смогла, кипяток вылился мне на руки((( При этом персонал не кинулся исправлять ситуацию - девушка просто сказала, что их будут ругать, если они не будут доливать напитки под завязку. Аптечку мне не предложили, я попросила мешок со льдом и пошла в ближайшую аптеку.

Nice coffee, with out door seating for a sunny evening or weekend to chill out after a tiring shopping in the town...just across oracle...

I chose the Starbucks just off the main shopping street opposite the Oracle. This coffee shop is quite small but the area to the back is quiet and comfortable. I made two visits there during a weekend in Reading.
