Starbucks in Welwyn Hatfield

An underwhelming experience, staff not particularly friendly, certainly need some guidance on customer service and making of their signature drinks Won't return

I had an amazing experience. My server Joey was really nice and helpful when I was asking about different drinks and actually served me pretty quick as I was running late. The staff are really nice and do their jobs exceptionally well.

There were 5 members of staff behind the counter but one lad seemed to just be standing around doing nothing and there was a queue. I was asked for my name and from that I assumed that my name would be called when my drink was ready. I heard a woman shout that a drink was ready and I had to go and ask if this was my drink. I spoke to a man with Ege on his name badge and he said the name was called. I said it was not as I would have heard it. Shortly after this they started using peoples names to call out orders. There were tables with empty mugs on them that had not been cleared and it had a shabby look. Will not be returning.

Lovely staff, clean and great view. Importantly the coffee tasted lovely, the food ordered was hot and promptly prepared.

A great view of the gardens and the fountain if you sit out on the balcony. Literally next to the station so it’s easy to grab a coffee and pastry and be on your way too. Nice staff and good service.

Absolutely disgusting service in here today, the lady serving me was scowling the whole time and was very rude. I ordered some toasties which when they were ready she put them in a bag, looked at me and then dumped then on the side. I asked if they were my order to which she replied yeah and walked off, her colleague actually looked embarrassed! I suggest a little customer service for some of the staff here wouldn’t go a miss.

Overlooking WGC town centre with all its greenery and fountain. Comfortable seating but poor choice of sandwiches, tables not cleared often enough, rubbish on the floors, service could be better.

A very convenient place to buy coffee while waiting for a train. Has a great deck that overlooks the beautiful gardens and waterfall in the town centre.

I'm not really a Starbucks fan, but this cafe on the first floor of The Howard Centre is convenient for a break while shopping. Indoors, it's a regular Starbucks. What makes it different to others is that, on a sunny day, you can sit out on the balcony with a terrific view all the way up Howardsgate.

I popped in for a drink to take to the train.i had a free drink voucher, and the service was good. The branch is definitely good for a view.

By far my favourite coffee place when in town - this not only because of the usual great Starbucks' standards but mostly thanks to the great staff. The blond(ish) lady who I normally find when popping in (she made my almond cappuccino this past Sunday morning, November 4th!) is always very nice and smiley, which makes a change from some miserable characters you normally get in such busy places.

I visit Starbucks in Welwyn Howard's centre on a regular basis ,its on the first floor with a large outside balcony. It was refurbished fairly recently. All the staff are very friendly and service with a smile . Coffee great . It has a calming atmosphere and a decent view up to the fountain.

We just had a reminder of why we switched to Costa. Despite the place not being very busy, waited 12 minutes for our two drinks. Only one drink came and it was wrong so was poured down the drain. Second attempt was also wrong so it also went down the drain. Third attempt that order was correct but the other part of our order was wrong. The till server was asked to decipher what she had written on the cups but was unable to read her own handwriting. Add to this the place looked dirty and untidy and the flies ruled supreme!

Visited Bank Holiday monday and despite having thr best view in town the place was dead, i guess because everyone was out enjoying the weather. There were 4 staff behind the counter all standing around chatting despite there being several tables needing cleaning, the floor was filthy and the highchairs looked like they hadnt been cleaned for a day or so. We don’t visit often for this reason, it always seems like the staff only work behind the counter...

Our local Starbucks. Come here with the family each weekend before the food shop - drinks are tasty, as are the cinnamon swirls and fruit toast! I always stop here on workday mornings too, about 8.30ish - they seem to cope with the queues well.

For over a month now this place has had a real problem with flies. If you sit at any of the tables near the entrance you are guaranteed to be joined by a group of them buzzing around your head/table or sitting on the padded seating next to you. Today we had 3 sitting to one side of us and 2 on the other! They can also be seen buzzing/crawling around the till/coffee making area.

The recent redesign was clearly an effort to cram as many people in as possible. Nobody can enjoy a pumpkin spice latte when practically sitting on the lap of a stranger.

Really great all round establishment. Staff and food really good. Coffee outstanding. Totally recommend.

We occasionally visit this Starbucks to have a quick break. They offer a good variety of drinks but they are quite expensive. It's in a good location and overlooks the centre of Welwyn garden city.

We went shopping in Welwyn Garden City and decided to take a break to have a drink. We found Starbucks on the first floor of the Howard Centre (right in the middle). Starbucks is Starbucks, it is a chain and what you get should be the same as any other branch. The only variable is the staff and the location.
