Harpsfield Hall in Welwyn Hatfield

There were 9 adults and 2 children and the service was terrible we waited nearly an hour for our food, that was very slow being brought out, it was cold which was probably because the plates were cold and it took so long to get to the table. As a group of family we will never be visiting again. The staff were not very friendly all quiet rude.

Decent breakfast, nice surroundings, the bar staff on this occasion quite rude.

Weatherspoons is hardly a pub fot atmosphere, but £1.29 a pint is prices from 20 years ago. Always a decent pint because they clean the lines. We all knock spoons but they are the only pub not breeding us dry

So the food and the drink was really good But the staffs in there who work are some Racist and ride their service was really really bad They have to treat all the customers the same The security are really bad and rude i would give food and the drinks 10/10 but their service was -100/10 ngl

I don't know who they have in the kitchen lately but the food has gone downhill big time. It used to be ok but the cod I had yesterday for new years eve was terrible. There was barely any fish. Just loads of batter. It's like the fish had disappeared or something lol. Even their chicken wings have gone crap nowadays too. Seriously get some better staff in the kitchen as I'm debating on not going in their for food anymore. In fact me and my boyfriend were gonna go for food in there the other day. But we got a steak from Aldi instead. It was much better quality and cheaper.

It's one of the better wetherspoon watering holes...good outside seating area and plenty of space inside.

The parking charge machine is difficult to negotiate.

While I love spoons it’s easily the worst at getting drinks to your table whether that be a management issue (probably) or a policy thing

I had a terrible experience at this Wetherspoons. I ordered via the app and had to wait over 30 minutes for my food, while other diners were served in 15 minutes. When I complained, I was offered a meal that had been left on another table, with food missing. The server was rude and insisted I should accept it, even though it had been sitting there for a few minutes, unattended with a different diner on a different table. I requested fresh food, but was told it would take another 30 minutes. I won't be returning.

Quite a lovely place in Hatfield for people to hang out. Food was delivered quickly at the table and the music was good creating a social ambience that made it a lively and preferable place to go to.

Stopped here twice, on way from Suffolk to Southampton & back, very conveniently just off A1 with a car park (free for first hour), which is rare for a Wetherspoons. On first visit had lasagna which was slightly undercooked, second visit had a lovely breakfast. Will definitely think about stopping off at this location again when traveling to Southampton.

Worst service of all time. The servers were super rude including the manager. Somehow they changed the order and started debating that we ordered the wrong item and asked us to pay for another one. Unacceptable behaviour and the whole staff is worst. Need to think about who you hire before maintaining such a place.

The Big Smoke Burger arrived and looked nothing like the picture, and had no cheese. Lower your expectations when coming here. But, on the plus side it's only a tenner. Can't complain

Very pleasant, especially for a wetherspoons. Open spaced seats and nice booths tucked away. Food and drink good and staff are friendly.

You can get 3 people meals for under £20 pound in the morning

Not a bad place for a quick dinner at all! There are always people regardless if it rains or not which is telling something. The atmosphere is great. The food is okay though you may need to wash it down with a beer or two!

Just your average spoons but well decorated.Food is as expected service was 10/10 if you like spoons and in the area its a good shout

Efficient service, friendly, reasonably priced and decent quality

Like many food pubs, check what comes, it's not unknown for food items to be missing. Check if your pint needs topping up too. Staff friendly and helpful otherwise, even if they have lost their stock of beer mats. Food reasonable, beer less expensive than most places, and have good guest ales. Tables often not cleared/cleaned and you have to ask. Steaks not top quality. Curry is good, as is the gammon. Recommended overall but with improvement opportunities. Try to avoid 8pm to 9pm as it's busiest, and the description "noisy" hardly covers it.

The service staffs are not really friendly and doesn't interact much. I dont understand why don't people smile often. It's simple cheap and effective. Its like they are in their own bubble and the vibes wasn't that great or bad...

We are here frequently for dinner atleast two Fridays a month. The last handful of times there has been inadequate service food off menu or cold or not what’s stated on menu. We thought we would try again last night 8th November as was going to our friends nearby. Can honestly say the service was spot on very busy evening. The man that brought our food over was very nice and polite, food was ok but could of been hotter. all staff were working hard but smiling which is what we expect keep it up guys see u in two weeks

Good spot for breakfast or lunch just off the A1(M) outside London. Only a few minutes drive from the motorway and it is right next to a car park with 1hr free parking (but get a ticket to log your arrival time).

Sadly since its opening in 2015 this restaurant has slowly declined in both the quality of the food the general ambience of the restaurant, and the current decor looks tired and in need of a complete refresh. However the staff encountered are always cheerful, helpful, &.pleasant. Good choice of mainly traditional pub fare on the menu with an excellent choice of craft beers to try for the beer lovers, though as reviewed the quality of the food has taken a dive, thus only 3 stars for Harpsfield Hall Wetherspoons Hatfield. Fish & Chips is worth a try

This is a nice Wetherspoons just across from the Galleria shopping centre. We stopped off for a drink after a brisk walk round the rather disappointing shopping centre, It's a nice setting with three rather quirky booths made from old jet engine cowlings. It's a nod to the aerodrome that used to be situated close by, useless fact, Band of Brothers was largely filmed on the aerodrome before being completely built over. We didn't eat here but there's the usual selection on tap and the staff are friendly and efficient.

I like wetherspoons in general but this is horrendous just like a huge hanger no soul no atmosphere alright for a pint but that's it

Such a lovely Wetherspoons, the only small bit that lets it down ever so slightly, is the service. As it's close to the university it does get rather busy and sometimes there is a lengthy queue at the bar! Apart from that it's definitely worth a visit!

It's a big Wetherspoons in what used to be an aeronautic manufacturing site, Saving Private Ryan was filmed there during redevelopment. Staff are great, drinks are cheap, only ate here once which was excellent, don't forget to validate your parking!

Lovely, modern new pub. Ordered Buritto salad bowl. Ive had it before and its super tasty. It arrived without roasted pepper, courgette , onion and guacamole. Basically rice and salad. I asked about the missing componants and was told they didnt have any guacamole. Very disappointed. I always promote Weatherspoons as good value, tasty food. Such a shame as the place is lovely

It's a delightful pub with great outdoor space as well as indoors . The staff are mostly friendly and helpful ans the food for the money is great value. Its definitely not a gastro pub but in truth like many, not every gastro delivers when it comes to the food especially for they charge ! The food occasionally come less than hot but on the plus side they are usually accommodating and re heat it without a fuss would be my main complaint. The breakfast is quite good and great value as is the unlimited coffee.

Good beer, good food, good service...what more do you want. Oh and very good prices and value.

I was waiting at the bar for a few minutes when the female bar member was in the little side room cleaning up. When she came out, she immediately served the first person she saw - not me who had been waiting longest. The food I ordered a bacon and egg muffin took a long time to get to my table and was cold. The hot drinks machine wasn't working either - even though it had just been "fixed: I asked for my money back and was refunded. Poor Service. Cold food and a drinks machine that wasn't working.

Nice decoration. The food is no longer cheap and the quality is preposterous. The pizza was dry and overcooked. Staff here are nice until you complain. The managers have teeth and despise people who dare to criticize them. Spoons are a lottery nowadays. Some places have quality ingredients, on some days. It's a clearly broken business trying to survive with poor service and poor food.

This has to be the worst food I've ( tried ) to eat in a wetherspoons , everything in the pictures, all the food that should be hot was cold 🥶 , a poached egg soft & runny stone cold , my apprentice American breakfast everything cold , awful , looks good on the photos but awful ,

Lovely spoons in Hatfield, food is always top nosh, pint of Abbot £1.99. What more can be said, a lot of history in the area which you can see all around the pub.

I ordered fish and chips..We waited 35-40 minutes which is not normal for Wetherspoons..When it came check out the pictures it was like 20 gram of fish covered with 150 grams with buttered bread

Went in for breakfast it was a lovely breakfast but not hot felt like it needed 2 mins in the microwave this is what puts me of eating here as tried it a few times and always the same

Had breakfast and coffee. Service was OK help yourself to coffee from machine. Breakfast roll very dry needed butter on it. Would go again if in area.

Cannot beat a Spoons 😁 We used to frequent The Chieftain, but since that place went down the pan with their menu refurb, we decided to look for somewhere new and here we are. Absolutely lovley food, always decently priced and toddlers get to eat pudding with their main.. fabulous 🤣

Exactly what u expect from a weatherspoons, nice area to sit outside.

1st time there for a meal, excellent food and drinks. Quick service at your table. The only thing that stopped them getting 5*across the board. The serving staff need to be shown how to serve and clear a table. You should never lean across the table and guests to reach the other side of the table. But otherwise a brilliant evening. 😊

Nice place, historical airfield theme is a nice touch, friendly staff, food and drink decent. Only aspect to consider is the parking control which is not Weatherspoon's doing, but plan for having coins if you plan to stay greater than 1 hour. Definitely return

Nice good size. It looked clean and new. Friendly staff and didn't have to wait long for drinks or food. Was pretty quiet too but may have been cause it was a weekday.

I went there for breakfast quite early. The atmosphere reminded me of some five star hotels in terms of style and spaceiousness, and not too many people. Delightful. But it quickly went down hill as more people arrived, sadly.

Standard weather spoon pub. Family friendly. Great value. You have to pay to park if staying more than one hour and the machines only take cash. Nice garden areas.

Just really poor. Couldn’t find a table that didn’t have dirty glasses on it. There were at least 7 staff working, and yet it didn’t seem like anyone was doing anything. The problem seems to be that nobody was a leader amongst the group.

We came here to this particular Weatherspoons today for the first time. We had drinks and a meal and decided to sit outside as the weather was lovely. Unfortunately , there were people sitting in the non-smoking area and one table asked another couple if they would be kind enough to move as they didn’t appreciate the smoke and they were told to F… off. Not one member of staff or management came to see what was going on. In the end, we were disgusted so we left. I spent over £100. I will be writing to the CEO as I have always supported Wetherspoons wherever possible but this behaviour is not acceptable. Tables were cleared nearly but no member of staff intervened.

It's a wetherspoons... You know the drill, but this one overall is well worth a visit!

Typical Wetherspoons with cheap drinks and food to fill your hunger; just don't expect too much or any quality control and you'll be fine. The burger bun was burnt 😫

Nice tasty good quality food almost completely ruined by this Wetherspoons inability to serve any of it hot ! Add this to staff who almost throw the food at you, will have to think hard about coming back to this one again.

The most modern Wetherspoons I have visited. Clean, spacious and, as always, excellent food and great value for money.

A really nice venue, large and open for large parties. However food is sometimes slow and often it has been below standard. This is normally due to being extremly busy.

Was pleasantly surprised at this weatherspoons. As the last one I was in which was Brighton was absolutely disgusting. Refused to eat there and left within 10 minutes ! However, this weatherspoons was lovely , fresh, very clean, tidy. Staff lovely , food could have been bit extra on plate . But all in all would definitely return there. Pleasantly surprised.

I’d like to review the food but we were a coach trip of hungry football fans and they took all the food off the menu! There was one person serving at the bar so no time for a drink either by the time they served us. Hatfield seemed very run down with rabbit hutch living and lots of litter. Made me sad.

Better than last time! My cap wasn’t stolen this time, however, I waited an hour for cheesy chips (which cost extra than plain chips) and when they FINALLY arrived….they were cheeseless. Absolutely disappointed in these chips. Maybe 3rd time is the charm?

Young barmaid, white/clear glasses, you are an embarrassment to the establishment. Zero customer care skills, costing this business valuable business. Friendly to the whites, cold to people of colour. Never returning to this place

Having travelled across land and sea, the adventurer is surely unable to find a more convenient, surreptitiously smooth experience than the wetherspoons just off the a1 at Hatfield. Good service, great food, excellent parking, unbelievable value and speed that rivals any fast food establishment this side of timbuktu.

Bad place, Friday evening with one bar staff, customers going mad as a 45 minute wait for a drink. Rowdy groups of drunk people vaping and shouting and swearing. The management are just walking about with a glazed expression. Don't go there if you want to chill out. One of the kitchen staff was walking with the manager and pushing a trolley, hanging from the trolley was a big bag of food waste hanging open. As he walked past my chair, he dragged the open bag across my new jacket hanging on the back of the chair and they said nothing, the were totally ignorant, and I had old spaghetti Bolognaise all over my jacket, when I reacted the kitchen worker ran off and the manager laughed and said it was ok as he was being trained. Where do Wetherspoons get these people from? They are so unsuitable, especially as managers,

Don't waste your time had to send food back 2 times already what a joke

Every time we visit this establishment they never have what we want. We have spent a lot of money here previously but the place has really taken a nose dive. No this, no that, "oh I'm sorry we are out of that at the moment" is all we've got for the last year or so. Not sure if management has changed but they need to sack whoever does the ordering. Won't be spending my money there anymore!

A nice afternoon lunch for my mate and myself, parking outside venue and the Parking Warden was brilliant ever so helpful as we are both Blue Badge Holders. The staff were very helpful which made the afternoon very pleasant for us.

I waited over an hour for a simple chicken burger....which wasn't even that great. My dessert, which I ordered an hour AFTER my main course, arrived AT THE SAME TIME!! Drinks were arriving promptly, which was the only good thing. Even had someone come up to us and tell my partner "turn your cap around or lose it", which was both really impolite, and completely unnecessary, as it took them over 3 hours to say anything. Disgusting.

The staff here is rude when I questioned them about my drink, the mocktail is bad.

Nice place to eat, normal Weatherspoons menu which is great value but can be rather slow in getting your food. I was sitting near the pass where each meal is ready to taken to the customer. My meal sat on the pass for 20mins, i assumed it was for a different customer !! In total it took 48mins for me to get my Halloumi burger !! Lots of meals which include a drink in the price, great idea. There was a shortage of sparkling wine / champagne which was disappointing. Plenty of car parking but it's not cheap, which is a shame as nearly all car parks in Hatfield are free.
