Postino Lounge in Welwyn Hatfield

Quite disappointed had to wait 30minuted for food to arrive and when it did mine was cold/luke warm. my partners salad was supposed to come with avocado and cheese, it was served without either and had to ask. The sweet potato fries came half the portion they’re supposed to be. I was really looking forward to eating as loungers franchise hasn’t disappointed before.

Love this place! Always accommodating. We often turn up last minute for a bunch & always a happy face greets us. New management team has made all the difference. Totally recommend a visit.

Not a pub, not a restaurant, but quite pleasant. Not a good range of beers but quite an interesting menu.

Have been here a few times for functions upstairs and for dinner downstairs. Pleasant atmosphere, nice staff. Would recommend if you wanted somewhere to go for an evening out in WGC.

Expensive, the food was nice,but not worth the price, don't buy the milkshakes , literally just flavoured milk with some whipped cream on top and they charge £5! My daughter was very disappointed.

As a group of 4 adults and 5 children under 7yrs old we popped in 15mins early to ask the staff if a table would be available. The member of staff stated they don't reserve tables same day and we should just come in and pick a table. I explained there was 9 of us and none of their tables were big enough. The member of staff just repeated that they don't reserve tables. Came back 15mins later to sit down and were told we'd have to wait 15 minutes whilst they organised the tables to accommodate us. Exactly what we had tried to avoid by popping in 15mins before the table was required. Trying to keep 5 children under 7 contained and our the way whilst we waited was challenging and no doubt disruptive to other customers too. The food was lovely and we all enjoyed our meal. Wouldn't have their milkshakes again though very disappointing

The atmosphere is great, a lovely place to come for either a drink or a meal. I ordered the breakfast and it was a great portion size with even a touch to spare. The General Manager is attentive and friendly person, who seems to work with a great team.

Service is so bad. There is no team coordination. Just saw one Indian girl running around doing whatever she can. The black lady behind the bar is mannerless. Moreover, food was in small portion and my wife recieved the food after all of us have finished ours. Food was cold as well. Sent the food back and it was barely warm again. Very dissatisfied. This was our first time today and definitely the last.

Great to see new manager engaging with the team and running around. Cocktails taste amazing and the lounge breakfast was stunning. Definitely will be back!!

Popped in for coffee & was convinced by Aaron to try the carrot cake, it was very good & worth the money. The coffee was also good. Great service, the staff were welcoming / genuine & thanked me afterwards. Fairly busy but everyone was still smiling.

Had a wonderful experience at Postino Lounge! The food was delicious, and Tasha was an exceptional host. She made us feel welcomed and handled a kitchen error with great care. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the excellent service. Looking forward to returning!

The tall lady behind the bar is rude and has no customer service! Guess she missed that online training! Disgraceful, ruined my night will never return

Been to a few Lounges now, and this one was by far my favourite! The decor and atmosphere is amazing, very friendly staff, and the food was delicious! Definitely will visit again!

We tried the Christmas Vegan meal - Mushroom pie and it was delicious!! Compliments to the Chef Lex!! It was a good hearty meal.

Good location, food, and service

Staff were on the Ball asking it out food was alright … First time there and I would go back , the only thing I would say is that the Salad was too small amount , could of been a little more substantial, but apart from that first rate , and. The Hot Chocolate was fine , but should have been in a Glass tumbler of some sort ! Not a cup .And also the Portions was a little missing of Chips for example … Not a good portion but tasty nonetheless. Would I visit again ? Yes for sure ..

My “Persian Lamb” was served on a flat bread that I needed a chain saw to get through. My son left much of his burger. Just a bit disappointing. Megan’s much better down the road.

First time at this place. Service was good but food wasn't that great and seems overpriced. My chicken burger was very hard and burnt out. Another friend asked for no tomato in the burger but found a big one in it. So overall not impressed.

Don't judge a book by its cover. The strong assumption is that the food here will be good. I've visited about 5 times, and have been disappointed on all but one visit. The burgers are horribly dry and undoubtedly the worst you will ever try. Steer clear if you're looking for good food.

My second date I wanted to impress how to spoil and ruin an evening thank you Absolutely disappointing, starters were cold even hot ones. Massive wait for mains had finished a bottle of wine and cocktails as date night asked for mains and if we could have a wine on the house to accompany our late course and management consensus was not on offer .... How silly the cost of two glasses of wine versus cancelling main courses? Stupid marketing and brand reputation. Also very rude under trained hospitality staff . Thank you not thank you

It was a terribe visit as the restaraunt was almost empty and felt cold, but we hoped the service and food would make up for that. How wrong we were!!! I asked the woman we took to be the manager where was the warmest place to sit, as it was a cold evening, joking that their kitchen would suffice. She laughed and then said an overhead heater was on. A man sitting nearby told us it deinitely was NOT on and it was very cold. We waited, agreed and just sat at a table. It was around 8.30 pm and we were the only coupe waiting to be served when we went in to the 'Lounge' There were two other tables occupied, a man on his own and three ladies who had all been served some time before we arrived. A polite, affable young woman was serving at the bar and another female who we assumed was the manager was stading around talking to cooks, the bar server and basically just not doing much as no one else needed attention. She had dark hair, in a bun, I think, and several tattoos. We ordered our food and were shocked when it arrived. I had ordered two poached eggs on toast. They looked pretty wet and slushy on the plate when they arrived and I had to pour much of the VERY vinegary liquid on to my saucer to be able to start eating. There was nothingvelse available for this so I used the saucer from my cup of tea!! My partner's fried egg was charred totally black underneath, so.much so it looked like they'd used it to SCRAPE the pan clean!! He said this later to the very indifferent manager. (See photos.) The toast was luke warm and chewy on arrival and we wondered HOW could this be. No one else was being served, so we didn't understand the cool temperature of the food. . My partner asked the manager if he could have a word. At that point she was actually serving some drinks and said wait until she finished. We looked in amazement as she finished and simply stood at the bar with her back to us...had she forgotten??? We looked at the time. Ten full minutes went by. No manager came to the table. I went out to the car, right outside the restaurant, for a phone call and could still see inside. Astonished, I saw her STILL standing with her back to. my partner. I phoned him and he said he was just timing now how long she took to respond. Twent minutes passed and he called her, again! He showed her the slush in my plate.(the 'poached eggs') I could only tolerate eating the solidified yolks and left the slushy whites as I would have been sick if i Ihad eaten them + the totally black underside of his fried egg. She looked and sounded totally uninterested, nonchalant, really, and said she'd "Speak to the cooks", at which point she walked off, back to standing at the bar. NO apology was offered, NO look of embarrassment at what we had been served up, NO regard whatsoever. Totally indifferent!! Hard to believe. No offer of a cup of tea or coffee even, as a gesture of goodwill, let alone an offer of a refund, which on reflection we SHOULD have been offered, as the eggs were all totally unacceptable,as was the lukewarm and quickly cold everything else. We frequent another 'Lounge', not too far away and LOVE every visit there. I have written ONLY POSITIVE REVIEWS about them over the years as all round excellent service deserves recognition. We know the staff well and are ways welcomed warmly. The food, service and ambience are exceptional. Consistently!! I have even written a positive review for a previous manager of Postino. This visit signed the end of our custom there. It was truly dire, particularly because of the attitude of this member of staff, even moreso thant he substandard food we were served. Appalling!! Needless to say we will NOT return, as a result. How disappointing, Postino Lounge. You should treat all customers better - on EVERY visit... And apologies for your shortcomings really DO matter!!

Eaten a few times here now - always been fantastic, not only the food - the staff too! Highly recommend the ‘cowboy smashed burger’ 10/10 would recommend. 4 stars for the atmosphere - the lighting is to dull… but that’s down to personal preference!

Definitely not how used to be before…. we used to go with our friends enjoying different cocktails, we’ve been experiencing so many times the cocktails didn’t have any alcohol at all!! When we did mention that they said that they definitely did however the cocktail especially the mojitos you couldn’t even drink it ! Also so many times not cleaned the tables quite disappointing ! Defo going to somewhere else!

The food and drinks where amazing, Harry on the bar went above and beyond and made the best cocktails even after he said he hasn’t worked here to long!!

The Carribbean chicken curry was beautifully cooked and not too hot on the spice. Banoffee cheesecake dessert was amazing. The team were friendly and efficient. Sadly the background music was not so much background music as foreground music, a quiet Monday night with less than 10 customers present and you could not hear yourself think.

Beautiful aesthetic. Very friendly staff. Food wasn't the best, the buttermilk fried chicken had a funny after taste and the chips were underseasoned. The desserts were more enjoyable, however the sundae had a LOT of empty space in the glass. 7/10 for the food.

We use the app to order food but due to a small glitch our order was messed up. All was fixed and we have been offered free drinks. All in all great service!

Wanted to give a massive shout out to the team on Saturday night for the attentive service and helpfulness of everyone to ensure our private function upstairs went well. We'll certainly look to come back. Thanks again xx

The food was lovely. Apart from the cauliflower bang bang, but they swapped it out fuss free. They were busy and shirt staffed but still have decent service. My food was lovely. Did not enjoy the oreo milkshake at all. Barely tasted of chocolate. Overall was decent. I recommend the hummus.

On entering Pistino's most of the tables needed clearing from the previous customers visit. Quite slow service, but staff very friendly and a nice atmosphere

The most disgusting food we have eaten in years!!! Fully wasted nearly £100....soggy flatbread...curry tasted like vomit...noodles tasteless ...I'm still shocked and extremely disappointed how bad the food is. I will never come back!!!!!!

Our family chose to come here for breakfast, 7 of us. On immediate first impressions, the decor was well- thought -out and presented well. It’s like stepping into a fancy Estately home, but being served McDonald’s quality food or, you could say, having a sense of being transported into Pizza Hut. The food was mediocre, lacked any real presentation, for the quality and size, considering the asking price. However, the app gesture was good. You can order for your table through their app, which works well. Their menu had many options and was clearly laid out. We sat upstairs and various members of staff came up with our drinks first and then our food. We asked a brunette female member of staff for table water, to which she said ‘you can go downstairs and help yourself’. Is this self-service or table service? We were all slightly surprised. I can understand if you go to Pizza Hut, but we paid just under £100 for us all to have breakfast. My Triple Stacked Buttermilk Pancakes lacked any real quality. You could tell the pancakes had done a few rounds or two in the microwave beforehand. Leaving them with a strange soggy-like texture. I have had better pancakes in a similar restaurants for half their asking price. Others in my group described their meals as being small in portion sizes. A member of our group ordered a hot chocolate, with marshmallows and cream, which didn’t come with any marshmallows or cream, this is one example. Overall, this place lacked in a few areas. Customer care, small portions and missing details regarding food and drink. If you are asking for a higher price for your products and services, then you have to deliver on that, which you didn’t do this time. Table water on tables might be a starter, along with a simple ‘goodbye thank you for coming’. Attention to detail goes a long way.

Not what it used to be, or at least nothing like my first experience when they’ve opened a few years back. Came back today, for a few drinks and some snacks/tapas. I hate to say this but, marinara meatballs cold inside, patata bravas the same and slightly hard. Also, I can understand that it might be the app these new pubs/chains are using, but why ask for tips before the service has been done? The most disappointing though, were the drinks. Espresso martini with no/little foam, it tasted like way too much spirits. And the passion fruit drink, super sweet and I mean it would be nice to see a slight effort into the presentation at least by adding some garnish. 50£ not well spent in my opinion.

Great lunch spot in the heart of WGC. The Bacon Cheeseburger was brilliant. Love the vibe - a quirky American style bar / lounge. The iced latte was also very good. Looking forward to coming back for the Tapas options. Service was great and liked that you could order and pay through your phone and a QR code. Will be back!

Slow service and rude staff, the place was dirty and cold

A bustling food place. There is a pleasant interior decor. They serve coffee, drinks and spirits. A selection of hot foods are available. The staff ever so friendly and nothing is too much bother.

Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Great atmosphere from all the staff and our dogs were welcomed. A wide variety of choices for gluten free and vegan too.

Anywhere that lets dogs and family to hang out in a cool, fun, relaxed place, where there's something to drink or eat for everyone and tables inside outside and upstairs - and lovely friendly staff - gets two thumbs up from us!

There were lots of staff behind the counter when I arrived, all seemed unfriendly and unable to give eye contact. Though my food arrived nice and hot, there seemed to be very little care and attention given to the items on my plate, there was nothing pleasing about it and it wasn't particularly tasty. Staff didn't go out of their way to make my visit pleasurable. Customer service at a complete loss. Will not return and don't recommend.

This was my first visit and only had tea. It was quick service and generous amount of tea and milk. Can't say anything about food as didn't have any.

Really good revamp of the old post office, had the shakshuka for brunch and was delicious with a side of halloumi fries which were fantastic, nice atmosphere, they also provide a web service via a QR code scan to order and pay food to make things a little quicker.

This former post office has been lovingly converted into a beautiful cafe bar situated right on the main strip in Welwyn Garden City. On a summer day you can eat outside or go inside where you can enjoy the delicious menu across 2 well decorated and comfortable floors. The place is very dog friendly with your furry friends allowed on the ground floor but not upstairs. Extensive menu spanning breakfast, brunch, sandwiches and tapas; we have a breakfast muffin, mozzarella panini and Miami breakfast all of which were fresh and well cooked. Prices are pretty reasonable too. Well worth a visit.

Food is quite good, interior is pretty but the service is always poor. Been here a few times and they always just slam some cutlery and food on the table and call it a day.

Great staff, lovely drinks - but freezing cold

Celebrated my birthday with 20 friends. The booking and confirmation process was a bit off as I had to call twice to change the booking and on the day when I called I found out that extra guests were not added to booking. However, on the day the service was fantastic, staff was great, food tasty, and process wise very organised. Thank you very much for hosting a great party.

We went in there tonight for drinks, asked for a bottle of sauvignon blanc, we were told "do you know how busy it is on a Friday night. We haven't got any and I'm not going to get any." There were probably about 8 tables with customers. So we walked out and won't be back.

First time eating here I liked the food and the vibe which was good. It's not to expensive at all these two meals and two large orange juices everything came up to a total of £40 so not bad at all.

Not the greatest. We requested 2 glasses of wine, the glasses were dirty and when we requested new ones they put the same wine on dusty glasses. The cutlery had dried food on it. The girls were very polite though. However the atmosphere was nice.

Horrible. All tables were dirty. My chicken shawarma was as plain as it gets and on my vegan partners falafel flatbread the kitchen spread feta cheese all over.

Ordered a vegan flatbread on the menu, was served a flatbread with cheese on rather than hummus and unfortunately didn't notice until I'd eaten some already. Partners dish was bland. Despite the food the service wasn't too bad.

Came here to escape the hellfire that was Misya. It's like they knew I was Greek, because the Turkish rage came out as soon as I walked through. But Postino's nurtured me, took care of me, made me feel proud in my heritage. Definitely the place to go after being mistreated and robbed - food and service were all 10/10. Special thanks to Alex, who made my food with love to make up for a horrible night. A special thanks also to Rebekkah and Lauren, who gave me a big hug and took me under their wing after everything I went through. Best night of my life

Table booked for 6pm , waited over half an hour before we even got offered drinks , waitress had a poor attitude and then we didn't receive our food til 7.30 . Not a great experience here , wouldn't recommend.

Carbonara is best eaten in Rome, the rest wasn't bad. The place is very nice, with a relaxed atmosphere, nice paintings and nice furniture!

We had a team lunch on a few occasions at Postino in Welwyn Garden City. The interior looks amazing, a lot of artistic pictures on the walls. The food is good, I found the bread for sandwiches/tapas/panini could be kept fresher. Would definitely recommend this place especially for great vegetarian choices.
