Starbucks in Sefton

Dirty - Grimy and uninviting. Staff more interested in chatting than cleaning. It is hard to understand how a corporate brand like this can ignore previous bad reviews and let this continue. I would rather go without than visit here again.

Quite the most dismal place I have been to in a long time. From the floor covering to the displays, everything was worn and tatty. The cheese and ham toasties we had tasted quite odd. Not sure what sort of cheese they use but I didn’t like it.

What a grotty place. Tables covered in cups and plates. Spillages everywhere. I had a take out coffee with coconut milk. I tasted and it looked like a black coffee. I took it back and was told it was because the coconut milk always sinks to the bottom. No common sense to perhaps give it a stir for the customer first perhaps? I dare not visit the toilet.

We visited sat down at a dirty table with the hope that someone would clean it. They didn’t but then they hadn’t cleaned any of the other tables either… There was rubbish piled up on the outside tables and I watched one of the male baristas walk outside to have a coffee look at the dirty disposable cups littering the table and just wander back in past our dirty table also covered in other people’s used cups and rubbish. We decided to just leave.

My husband and I both had decaffeinated coffee here and both of us felt ill afterwards. My stomach bloated up and felt dodgy after and my husbands was bad for the afternoon and day following. While we were ther I noticed the tables and chairs were dirty and crumbs everywhere. We had to move others pots to sit down. There is a general lack of cleanliness here and it’s only a matter of time before someone else gets stomach problems. Won’t be coming back.

Called here Monday morning 15th August 2022 for drinks only and to escape the rain. plenty of seating free. Drinks were very nice. Just a shame the two girls taking orders and making the drinks have no customer service skills. not a smile, thankyou or anything else

Visited Starbucks on Lord street today. Nothing was too much trouble for the manager. She was helpful when the children were choosing drinks. She helped when Katy spilt my water. Again helped when Katy didn't like her drink. She also gave Katy some cups and stickers to play Starbucks at home. We will be back to Lord street Starbucks soon. It was excellent!

If I didn’t have to put a star, I wouldn’t of!. I visited the Starbucks on Lord Street, Southport with my family. There was a dog in there with a customer. One of the waitresses went over to the dog and sat on the floor in her apron and was cuddling and stroking the dog. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing but then after several minutes with the dog she then stood up and went behind the counter and began serving a customer without washing her hands. If that’s not disgusting and unhygienic then I don’t know what is. We walked out and will never go there again!. This seriously needs looking into as the hair off the dog was floating in the air and then all over her apron. Unprofessional and dirty!.

Previous bad reviews from is and it's not improved. Can't believe that they allow dogs in there. Thought dogs had to stay outside as per Starbucks website. Our fine in drinks were served on cardboard. Asked for no cream on drink when it arrived it had cream on , told the barista I asked for no cream, she took the top off the cup and scraped it off!! Won't be returning here we should have learned out lesson from previous visits

Thankyou for the wonderful time today at starbucks my daisy had her first Puppacino.Credit to the wonderful staff who where tremendous with her and couldn't do enough today made our day

Very rude staff and an unfriendly atmosphere. Empty fridge. The drinks were the same as they always are (very nice) but the service was poor.

Brilliant staff working here today. They made my daughter's birthday. I messed up the order but they sorted it with no issues. The lady with the Bob and Dr Martens had a lovely chat while we waited. Fantastic service .

I expected the coffee to be terrible and it was, but they were friendly and kind to my daughter and they had skimmed milk for mother. Just don't go expecting palatable coffee

It’s Starbucks, i know but I showed up and my phone died as i was about to order. I was pleasantly surprised she just said - have your coffee and okay us next time. Great customer service

Opted for bacon and egg rolls as had a train due and not much time.... Wish I'd not bothered, it was the vilest thing I've ever eaten. Pale fatty bacon, mushy egg filling and rock hard muffin... The strawberry and cream frappe was nice and staff friendly. But stay clear of the breakfast muffins, to be fair only ate in there as there is no greggs

Went in twice whilst in Southport. Enjoyed my coffee very friendly staff .quick service. Clean and tidy cafe

Sophie just served me my morning coffee, she was so bubbly with everyone in there and made me feel very welcome. Lovely staff member

I went in here with my children a couple of weeks ago and while I always find this to be a strange place due to the layout, it totally makes up for it in service. On this occasion I was served by Amber (I hope I remember her name right) who went out of her way to come up with suggestions of things for my children to try. She was very patient and attentive. You don’t get such pleasant service everywhere and all the staff working that Sunday we’re lovely!

One of the poorest Starbucks for seating and ambience. It’s more of a corridor. Like the fruit loaf very much

Staff here are really nice and coffee is always good..but my visit here Sunday was a let down. The floor was filthy! Full of discarded sugar wrappers, bits of paper etc. One of the staff came and removed rubbish from table and picked a cup off the floor but didn’t touch the rest! Felt grubby to be honest! It definitely needs to be kept on top of

Its a nice Starbucks especially on a really cold day - warm and cosy and the staff delightful. The only think wrong with this place is the Starbucks coffee. Always wishy washy. Doesnt seem to have any strength or flavour to it. Same in all Starbucks tho not just here.

Visit here once or twice a day. Friendly and excellent service. Sophie has just made the best toffee nut latte for me ever! Can’t wait for the pumpkin 🎃 syrup next year. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

We called in today, we were very cold, staff lovely, the floor was wet, and my husband is disabled , the water was coming from a very labrador. When we looked there was an array of dogs. The akita looked very unsettled. Sorry we didn't walk out, we have lived here for 35 years in southport, never seen this before in any of our coffee shops. Such a shame, the staff work hard. What I s o going on?

I always go down and grab a coffee from here when in the area, it's quick and efficient and staff are nice and friendly.

Coffee is always spot on here, staff are friendly and helpful. A safe bet if looking for a nice coffee in Southport.

Stopped off for coffee, fruit breads & toasties on a family day out on 28/07/18. Coffee and food was hot and tasty which was set in pleasant & clean surroundings. Enjoyed it - good refueling point and a great place to recharge those batteries.

as with all starbucks you get the same drinks in all shops .The staff here looked overworked and worn out.The coffee area was a disgrace with spills and unclean work services all over.The fans on the front of the fridges was completely covered in dust and looked bad .The coffee was as always overpriced but tasty and hot .

I went to this Starbucks following a shift at work for a quick drink and to relax a little. The lady who served me (Kerry) was very helpful in recommending a drink to me, which I loved! She also helped register me with a loyalty card, which will be very useful as frequent the chain a lot...All in all, the staff are lovely, the drinks are fab, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Thank you Kerry for fab service!

I enjoy Starbucks coffee, and on this visit had an extra hot cappuccino on a cold day. The server was quite chatty whilst making our drinks. She explained all my free options as a Gold Card holder (over 50 purchases in 12 months). Coffee was very good.

A busy little cafe, Coffee is good as you'd expect. The food is tasty but bit expensive. I found the toilets to be run down and need a good clean.

Love Starbucks but this branch has became dog friendly. Fine if dog well behaved but went in today and was verbally abused by another customer who felt dog friendly meant that their dog could run around, bark etc . I had said nothing and was leaving clearly unhappy about being disturbed. Not everyone likes dogs! Should be customer friendly too and get the balance right!

Good PSL whilst people watching. Some of the tables were dirty but just moved stuff out of the way. Staff came and moved it soon after as soon as it quietness down.

The first time I had coffee and cake it was a nice day so I sat outside with my dog, when I ordered I was told that it was OK to bring her in.

As per my last review, staff are happy for floor to be littered with debris and tables sticky and stacked with dirty plates, regardless of the cafe not being very busy.

Called for coffees, staff very friendly and helped us choose which drinks by giving us a taster. Really helpful because it was the first time our friends had been in.

Tables uncleared and dirty. Floor was wet where a dog bowl was left. Surprised at the general untidy appearance of this starbucks.

Been in a few times with my Mum into this very narrow Starbucks on Lord Street. Great coffee. However every time it is dirty, with uncleared, unwiped tables and a dirty floor. It puts you off going back in and now we don't go anymore. The staff were friendly. Last time the queue was so long we walked out rather then wait half an hour. The cafe size is too small for a name like Starbucks!! Who on earth decided to put a Starbucks in that narrow little place! I've not experienced a dirty Starbucks cafe on all my stays in America.

I love Starbucks, the quality is always good but the staff are so rushed that cleaning tables must be bottom of their list of tasks. Its a real turn off and in fairness not just this branch.

Good coffee but table tops often sticky, which is a pet hate of mine. It wasn't busy on our last visit but the table was still not clean. Last time I used the w/c here it was not very clean.

Popped in today for a coffee and a chill whilst out shopping. First thing that we saw was that the table hadn't been cleaned. Cleared yes but not wiped with anything resembling a cloth and anti bac. Coffee was palatable but the last thing it was was hot!! I did not ask for a frappuccino. A call of nature led me to the rear of the premises where I was greeted with a 1 door fits all scenario. Male, female, disabled and baby change all share the same space. In other words you have 1 facility for everyone. That's ok...but it needs to be clean. I was greeted by armageddon. The aroma of stale urine permeated one's nostrils. Toilet didn't flush, loo paper all over floor, generally filthy and unkempt. Will not be returning any time soon...many more better and cleaner coffee houses in Southport

Its a typical Starbucks seeling typical Starbucks coffee and sandwiches. So thats that. The place is quite small very corridor like. What makes this outlet good are the staff - So bubbly and happy and was possibly one of the best retailers had contact with for a long time. Even pursuaded me to buy their new nespresso capsules and they are very decent. Good for a decent coffee.

Rather grubby and seriously need to clean the tables more frequently. Not even busy enough that staff were occupied elsewhere ! Poor show.

We enjoyed two nice skinny cappuccino's and topped up my card with more credit.

Visit Starbucks 1-2 times a week. This particular venue always lacking in hygiene around the tables. Have to move dirty dishes and rubbish to sit down with a drink etc; Tables always unwiped. Recently on two different occasions this store had ran out of soya milk / vegetarian products and once again had the usual dirty tables at non busy times. I complained to Starbucks online explaining my partner and myself had gone out especially for a coffee which involved a 20 min drive each way and parking at £3 to be told no soya milk for our coffees when the shop had 4 hours before closing and a well known supermarket almost opposite that they could have obtained a few litres of soya from! The soya in my cupboards has an expiry date currently of 15 months away, so no excuses acceptable regarding not being able to have it in stock as it only needs refrigerating once opened if you get the long life version. Starbucks response was 2 free coffee vouchers for the travel, petrol, parking and disappointment! However, we tried the store again, having been assured by e-mail that the issues I raised would be addressed in store and with district managers only to find we had to move dirty dishes again! There are 21 tables in this store and only 4 were occupied, including ourselves, yet in the 50mins we were there not one table had dirty dishes collected or was wiped clean. Considering only one take out customer came in during this time also, I think they had more than enough time to clean and clear. This is not a nice environment to be having a coffee in (when they have it in stock) and several of my work colleagues have said they no longer visit this place either. I have e-mailed Starbucks once again and if they redeem themselves I will add that at another time.

Stopped for a caffeine fix, bit of a queue as it was nice outside however the service was slow.

Really friendly and approachable staff, great customer service. Coffee and pastry very tasty and served very quick and efficiently.

Staff are beyond helpful, such a refreshing change to see such an engaged and friendly team. Cafe is small and quaint with a real cosy feel. Drinks were brilliant, no complaints. Store had even decorated the windows which makes it stand out and put a personal stamp on it.

Popped in with my grandson for a quick coffee, he opted for mango juice and bacon barm which he enjoyed I went for a latte and a coconut and banana cupcake delicious. Service quick and efficient

I'm a frequent guest at this stabucks and although i dont know any of the staff personally i can say that ALL of them are absolutely friendly and smiling. Might not be the cleanest place at busy times but i'm not that bothered. I've not walked into a single starbucks that was clean because it's always so busy and i know the struggle of serving the guest when it's busy and trying to clear the tables. Staff is always happy and willing to help even with special requests like a 'Butterbeer-Frappuccino'. I however highly recommend this place simply because the staff makes me feel welcome every single time. They even start to remember my name which is lovely. Well done guys! Also i would like to say how much i like the manager or supervisor. Last october i walked in and tried the pumpkin spice latte for the first time and you were the most competent and firendly barista i have ever talked to. If only every starbucks had a guy like you!

Very small amount of seating but there are seats outside too. Narrow and long interior and comfiest seats are at the back-but near the toilet.

I know I've hated Starbucks but this just put the nail into the coffin. My chai latté was cold and didn't taste like one, the staff however were more than happy to change it. But to avoid ruining my favourite drink altogether I opted for a hot chocolate instead. Much to my disappointment it didn't taste like chocolate at all, I vowed never to go back again.

Pretty slow service when ordering drinks here. However the Cafe area was fairly clean, if not slightly cramped and stuffy!

The place was really dirty , the floor was dirty full of crumbs and stains etc, not a single table was cleared while we were in there. We had the last 2 customers cups on our 2 seater table. we had to wait to be served while the staff were having a conversation . Didn't return during our stay in Southport

I have visited many of the major coffee shops in Southport and the difference here is the service - always very welcoming, whatever time of day...
