Starboard at Rosies in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

From the outside the place doesn’t look great, this place was recommended to us, the food was excellent, fresh tasty unctuous. Can’t wait to go back. Thanku.

Great atmosphere,the pasta of the day was lovely- better than our local Italian restaurant that we been using for over 20 years,chicken burger was olso great,people in Bude your soo lucky you have this here,10/10

Returned for an evening meal having had some nice food on our last few visits. We found the food to be average this time which is a shame, maybe a busy night or just the wrong day. The food appeared to be ex frozen and not freshly cooked though presented nicely and with good service..

We decided to have fishy Friday...Haddock in gluten free batter,chips ,mushy peas, home made tartare sauce😋 all for £8.50 with either tea or coffee.... Didn't disappoint...lovely size portion,batter was thin and crispy (neither of us are gluten free) Well worth the money..... Then a lovely walk on the downs... definitely be back again for fishy Friday

I’ve visited Rosie’s dozens of times over the past 15 years. The food is good, accessibility for wheelchairs is kind of good (tables a little close together). The only thing that stops Rosies getting a 5 is the incessantly loud music so loud you can’t hear conversations.

Had been for a walk and decided to stop here for a nice cold pint! Having purchased said drink and sat down, we perused the menu and decided to try one of their wood fired pizzas. Glad we did! It was well cooked with plenty of cheese and tomato topping and piping hot. It tatsted delicious 😋. This place is a bit like an American diner, but very popular and great views of the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Thanks!

Wow, we were so suprised at the food. Don’t look like the nicest of places from the outside but when you go inside it’s like a modern diner and so nicely laid out/presented. The service was great and so was the food. We ordered from the specials board (patatas bravas, beef quesadillas and truffle mac’n’cheese) DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

Lovely location right next to the sea with plenty of outdoor seating. Food came quickly, although the pizzas were a few minutes later than everything else. The wood fired margherita pizza was absolutely delicious, tasted fresh and the tomato and basil topping was beautiful. The skin on fries were the best fries we had while in Bude, well-seasoned and golden. After our meals, we indulged in some clotted cream ice cream, which was also very yummy! Both our meals and the ice creams were generous portions that meant we definitely got our money’s worth. Staff were friendly and did not hang around us during our meal, which we greatly appreciated. The atmosphere was also very laidback and welcoming despite the lunchtime rush. We look forward to coming back here next time we visit Bude!

Rosie's is in a great location right by the beach, with parking available (although you have to pay). It was busy when we arrived but we managed to find a table (8 of us). You have to go and order at the till, but even though it was very busy, this was done quickly. The food arrived really quickly and was really good. The portions were large and we were all really impressed with how tasty everything was. Definitely wished we had time to visit again 😊

6 of us (grandparents, parents and young children) visited on 2 occasions for dinner. Rosie's is our new favourite! Lovely lovely place, great menu with something that suited everyone in our party and great service despite being very busy. The food, milkshakes and sundaes were all really good! Highly recommended

Bloody great. Lovely fresh food. Tasty and high quality. I remember this place when it was an arcade back in the 80s and somehow still has the same feel as it did back then. But the food is lovely and priced well. Service is impeccable and I cannot fault it. Pizzas and loaded fries some of the best I’ve ever had

Excellent dog friendly restaurant with both indoor and outdoor areas where dogs are allowed. Good choice of meals available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Had the Ribs today, very poor meal, could not use a knife Had to use fingers, no finger bowl, ribs were very tough Chips were half cooked, no one asked how our meal was Never going back, l live 12 miles from bude £18 rip off

We stopped off at Bude before we were heading back home again and wanted to grab some breakfast, glad to have found Rosies. Right on the beach, we had great views from our seats of the sea. We got directed to our tables through their one way systems and were asked to order from their App which we found through a QR code on the table, unfortunately the app wasn’t working at the time so we ended up placing our order with the waitress. We ordered 2 Rosies breakfasts, 2 teas and a lemonade which came to a very reasonable amount of £19.50. Drinks and food arrived quickly and food was good!

Superb food, great value for money and lovely staff!!! Wonderful location..... ! We ate here twice during our week holiday and had umpteen amazing milkshakes and smoothies on the beach!!! Would definitely recommend x

Absolutely brilliant pizza! Better than any of the chain restaurants by a country mile , and far far better than la Bocca’s pizza imo. Thin with crispy edges and delicious generous toppings. Loved the jam . Would never of thought of adding it to a pizza. Staff were great and despite there being a table of 30 in the adjoining restaurant , they were still attentive and even offered to push our food through first. But we weren’t in a rush so had starters and waited. If you do have a starter make sure you save room for there pizza. Oh and it was 2for1 on a Thursday ( don’t know if that’s every week).

I have just eaten here tonight. Eating solo and I couldn’t have been made to feel more comfortable. I was placed in a window seat with a great view of the sea. Staff were friendly and extremely efficient. I chose the Moroccan salad which was amazing. Good and varied menu. I will certainly eat here again when visiting Bude.

Went to Rosie’s for an early evening pizza. We had our one year old baby with us and staff were really accommodating. Pizzas were lovely. Nice selection of gins also. We found the staff super friendly and helpful

Come to Bude each year. Rosie’s is s must go to. Went in the starboard part this time. Great views of Crooklets beach while you eat. Kids fish and chips great size and fresh. Kids pizza from the pizza oven with choice of 2 toppings spot on. I had meat feast pizza nice and fresh plenty of toppings. My wife said t was one of the best Fish and chips she has had ever. Homemade tartare sauce was a nice touch. Local range of Cornish beer Wolf Rock is always a go to for me. Staff very friendly hardworking and helpful. Cold Tap water given without asking. And kids get a free ice cream of choice for the walk home (or eat in). Ps the burgers and onion rings are top notch too.

Sitting watching the huge breakers roll in from storm Gareth, my partner an I enjoyed a relaxing dinner in the starboard restaurant on Saturday. Drinks are well priced, as is the food. My classic burger with cheese had fresh salad and as very filling, I did not need all the chips. I was lucky enough to try my partner's chicken and barbecue pizza, a lovely thin base and very tasty. I really did not need the peanut butter and ice cream slice, but I ate it all anyway as it was so enjoyable. The food here is honest, freshly cooked and very good value, I am looking forward to a return visit.

What a cracking place. Busy on New Year’s Day but so welcoming. The food is comfort food done well. As a group of 12 we found a table easily and the menu had something for everyone and it tasted good!! A great way to finish our New Year’s day walk! We’ll definitely be back!

Great restaurant situated right on Crooklets beach with plenty of parking available. Staff were friendly and welcoming, food selection good - especially the pizzas. Portion sizes were generous and food quality high. Family friendly and great value. Well worth a visit.

Our new favourite place in Bude! A proper beach bar feel, but with food that wouldn't be out of place in a high end restaurant. Setting is beautiful, children catered for really well with a decent, varied, healthy menu. Pizzas are fabulous, drinks choice is great. Staff friendly, honestly no complaints whatsoever. See you next year!!

A great location, don’t be put off from the outside, we nearly left thinking it would be unimaginative, but real effort has been made to make this creative & contemporary. Loud, lively & popular, we arrived at 5pm to young families eating & young adults drinking, all straight from the beach. (& lots of laughing) An easy ordering system, (some slightly surly teenage staff) and all very well thought through & a good varied menu. Fantastic food, in huge portions. Really well done & generously served up. We’d ordered way too much. Our only other critique is; if you don’t like spice, avoid the fajitas - my son will be recovering for some time & he had more sour cream than you can imagine to calm them down! Overall, we liked it, location was good, we managed a sea view (which isn’t as spectacular as some reviewers give it) and had a happy family meal, rounded off with good ice cream. Kids menu particularly good & we’d go again.

Great place to meet and start or end your day. Plenty of choice and good overall service. Reliable eatery that will not disappoint. When you find a great location and sound place to eat you cannot beat that moment.

This place was buzzing and had a great atmosphere when we went for dinner. We had a table overlooking the beach which was stunning. The staff were knowledgeable and eager to help. The food was excellent quality and lots of it...! In fact we could have shared our order as there was so much of it. The menu was varied and even though the restaurant was extremely busy we had our food within 20 minutes and were told of the wait...which went very quickly due to our amazing view. This is a great place to go when your hungry and just coming off the beach...pop in you won’t be disappointed

A really great meal with excellent service, we had a few bits to share including pizzas, garlic bread, nachos (the big are really big). The staff were all really friendly and came to the rescue very quickly when a bottle of red went tumbling. The children loved the pizzas and the festival of ice creams at the end.

Booked last minute (30 mins in advance) for family of 4 (children 3 and 5) and it was great. Just what we wanted and pizzas on buy one get one free. The bude sea pool beer was also great! Children loved their pizzas and the staff were great. One waitress who's name we didn't get and tom the waiter were great (despite me not having any change worthy of a tip to leave - sorry!). Thanks for a great evening meal.

So today I returned to Rosie’s after a poor service back in the summer and being told after leaving a review I would receive a voucher as a sorry, which I never received I thought I’d give it another go. The food was lovely this time couldn’t fault it. But again the service wasn’t great. All our main meals come and we were waiting on a portion of chips which didn’t arrive so I went to ask where they were and the girls reply was “o I realised when you walked away that I didn’t order the chips for you” so why didn’t she come over and say sorry I totally forgot to order and charge you for the chips, I would of happily gone up and paid instead she just left it and probably hoped I’d forgotten about them. So when I said to her so we don’t have any chips coming she said “no” I can order them for you now so I said well that’s no good as we started eating 10minutes ago. So still find the service poor!

Having spent some time phoning other restaurants in bude for a table, but having no luck, we popped into Rosies on the off chance as we were hanging out at crooklets. And we were so pleased we did! Fantastic kids menu at sensible price and great portions in all our meals . Half the price of our meal the previous night at another restaurant and actually, more enjoyable with fantastic sea views. Give it a try!!

Friendly restaurant in a great location. The kids menu is good value. Enjoyed our meal every time we have visited. One time the service was a little slow but they were very busy - not surprising given the location.

I have been asked to pay a charge for using a credit card before but never with my debit card but at Rosies I was asked to pay a 50p charge for using my debit card because my order was only £7 and not £7.50. Really disappointed as I really like this place but think this charge is pure greed. Will not not go there again on principle.

Lovely surrounding great menu choices and helpful staff.

We ordered Chicken BBQ Pizza. £11.00, not even worth £1.00! Drops of chicken, cannot describe it as pieces or nuggets as so so small, 3 drops per slice with 3 scraps of bacon and absolutely smothered in BBQ sauce on paper thin base, cannot be called thin base as so thin it was transparent. Came home and had to cook dinner. Complete and utter rip off and shall be reporting it to the food standards board it was that diabolical.

I have visited Rosie's many a times now and the food is usually top notch but the waitress has no people skills and is extremely rude and has totally put me and my family off going there. I ordered some take away milkshakes last week, I asked for 1 chocolate milkshake and a small one for my 18month old as it was so hot. To rudely be told "NO" so I said "oh" she said "they come in 1 size" so when I asked what size she said "I don't no....medium probably" so when I said o it's for my 18month old not sure he will drink a big one so I will leave it she won't "o well" snatched my money off me and chucked the change on the top. When I told my sister about it she said she finds the same girl extremely rude and it's putting my sister off to and she goes there a lot through the summer. So perhaps some staff should be sent on a people skills course before she puts more customers off!

Went for a lunch out of season. It was busy. There was a note on a board to say 20 mins for food. Ordered what they call dirty chips which has cheese pulled pork chips and jalapeño peppers. I asked if I could have them without the peppers and yes. We waited and waited . Other people can in after us and we receiving there food before us. We only asked for burgers and the chips. 45 mins I asked if our food was coming and we were meet with a rude response oh I will have to check. Then they said there was still another 10 min. When the food did arrive the chips had peppers all over it. When I said I'd asked for no peppers they said well the kitchen wasn't told. Then he said he would take them back . All they did was scrape the peppers off. What if I had an allergic reaction to them that's why I didn't want them in the first place. No apologies for wait or wrong order. Won't be going back for food ever again as it was also quite expensive. But good milkshakes.

Fantastic food & Dog friendly. Situated literally metres from the Award Winning Crooklets Beach in Bude. This quaint & friendly secret of Bude is well worth a visit.

Had a wonderful meal for 18 of us - the staff were very helpful the location great and the food good - would thoroughly recommend.

Having driven down for the Channel Challenge the fare at Rosies hit the spot served with a smile pipping hot and tasty - will happily return time and again to this gem!

We chose to eat at Starboard at Rosie's after a busy day & an early evening walk to Crooklets Beach. We had been to Rosie's a couple of years ago mid-season during the day, but were a little put off by all the families with kids, saying we'd return out of season when it was less busy & there were no kids. I'm well aware how popular this place is during the season, so it was nice to return when it was a little more quiet.

On a mad wild day we can across Rosies, great contemporary Cafe/Bar right on the beach front.

Lovely informal restaurant. Very popular and busy so book a table. Staff super friendly and food excellent. Pizzas are fabulous, delicious bases. Lovely spot overlooking the sea

Rosie's is great for mornings and day times but Starboard comes into its own at night. Good selection of food served in a relaxed environment by the friendliest and obliging staff. Food quality and quantity is high. Prices good / low and did I mention the staff? Top class, Jack at nearly 86 wasn't as hungry as the rest of us so while we ordered yummy meals, he said he just fancied cheese on toast! Not on the menu, no problem. The waitress went and asked the chef and rather than dad being chased out for his cheek, the response was 'on white or brown' he was delighted and has been going on about how nice they were ever since. Sadly they are only open on Fridays and Saturday nights out of season and we are going home before the weekend. However, we hope to enjoy their delights next year as well as a couple of breakfasts before we depart.

We have great friends that live in Bude therefore we visit and eat out. Over the years we have eaten in most places and this time it was Rosie's.

Like others I cannot fault the staff or food. Location is great and even on a rainy evening the views are tremendous. What caused concern on a Thursday in the middle of peak season was the feeling we had of being in the way. We booked a table for 7:30pm for my mother in laws birthday. All was well until shortly after 8:00 we were 3 of few customers left and the staff started clearing tables. Not the used but the ones laid up of the cutlery and glasses. The staff, all very polite and pleasant, were on their shut down routine such that by 8:30 when clearing our main course we felt so uncomfortable that we paid the bill and went. As we left chairs were being put on tables and we would not have been surprised if the cat had been put out on our heels. It was a shame as we have had many a pleasant evening in Rosies Starboard but this one never got to dessert before being snuffed out.

Nipped in to Rosie's after an evening of body boarding for a treat. It is a great place and what a location. Just had hot chocolate, daughter had ice cream (the best she's ever had) and hubby had a giant waffle. It was great value for money and staff were very pleasant. We will be going here for an evening meal before we leave. Menu is extensive & they cater well for all types of diet. Well worth a visit.

The food is awesome. Fresh ingridients.. great atmosphere overlooking the beach. A great evening spent with family. And the service is very prompt. Didnt have to keep looking out for waiters n waitresses. Loved every bit.

Been to Bude many time but never managed to get to Rosies after hearing many good things. Managed to get there on last night of holiday in May 2016 and best meal and best service we had all week by far. Starboard in the Pizzeria part of Rosies with wood fired cooker with a nice open atmosphere and great views out to beach and sea. We dined on stares of baked camembert and nachos, son could just manage the nachos ! then the wife and I dined on delicious pizza and my son had his best burger all week. To add to the great food the service was exceptional, we had a waiters and waitress and I wish I could remember their names they were great, engaging with us about the food and also our holiday, nice to feel like an outing to an establishment rather than just a service bringing food, 6 stars if possible.

We saw this on the Internet as we were looking for somewhere beachside for breakfast as camping nearby. And what a gem it was. Reasonably priced, good food, lovely surroundings and friendly staff. Just what we needed.
