Saltbox in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Just had a Mediterranean takeaway (collection) from this local family run street food shack and it was amazing! Chicken souvlaki, halloumi souvlaki and a mezze platter. Would definitely recommend. One of the best takeaways we've had.

Loved this place and we visited it several times whilst staying in Padstow, and bonus it is right near the camel trail . Really quirky and unusual with excellent food. I loved it because there were different containers selling street food, Greek, Pizzas, Tapas & a Coffee one so if one wanted greek and the other the tapas it was perfect. Would thoroughly recommend 👌💯

Called in for a quick bite to eat - we both had the Suki Bowls with chicken and noodles and it was possibly the best bowl of noodles I’ve ever tasted! The teriyaki chicken was amazing and the veg was delicious! Staff are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was great. Reasonably priced and so much choice. Would highly recommend and will definitely go again.

Enjoyed a few early evenings here and will come again. Lovely Staff. Boss needs to have stronger enforcement against people who think it’s ok to vape and cover others with their smoke however.

Went to the Greek place and the pizza place service and staff were excellent the food is fab

Today I was served by a lovely waitress making the pizzas. Her professionalism needs to be noted as moment before serving me her boss had shouted at her at length in front of loads of customers. This young girl was humiliated and it was uncomfortable to watch. I feel ashamed I didn’t speak up. Every customer was appalled to see such treatment of a member of staff in this restaurant . If he needed to say something it should have been in private. I hope the girl is ok and reads this. We all saw how you were spoken to it was horrible.

Very nice. A room, a bar and several restaurants. Sit at a table (or reserve one in advance) and then everyone can eat whatever they like.

Nice little place at the start of the camel trail in Wadebridge. Had a milkshake and a ice-cream. Both were nice. Downside was that some of the items are not available at certain times due to staff switching off the machine (e.g., waffle maker) would be helpful if mentioned on their website so as not to be disappointed.

Had a Persian chicken burger and Tropikick smoothie from the saltbox kitchen... Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend this fantastic place.

Whilst staying nearby we came accross this little quirky place. Comprising of six stacked shipping containers with a street food hub, bar and Nordic spa, SALTBOX is unique in North Cornwall. We had a pizza from Woody's Pizza Cornwall A pepperoni for £10.95. Which was made fresh to order. Also a burger and fries from Hellfire Barbecue DOUBLE DOUBLE £8 Two smashed beef patties topped with two slices of cheese, finished with house burger sauce and pickles and side of fries £3. We headed upstairs to the bar. As they give you a buzzer which lets you know when your order is ready. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and the food was good. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Looking for something to eat on a Sunday afternoon and came across this place, what a great find. Food was delicious and I had the best smoothie ever 😋

Great concept for a place to eat lots of little kitchens to choose from and a hot tub area and bar upstairs. I ate at the taco area tacos were very good also ate some pizza and gyoza from different places all excellent. It was raining and wet the day I visited and the place was a bit leaky with rain dripping through the roof and flooding the floor which no body was dealing with apart from that excellent (but a bit overpriced) love Cornwall for visiting

Saltbox provides something for everyone, such a great idea having varied individual eateries under one roof. We have visited many times. Whether for a drink , food, or even a sauna, you will enjoy a great atmosphere. The owners of Saltbox came up with this ingenious idea to cater for all tastes. Trust me, it's worth a visit. It's near to the Camel trail, too. and opposite a car park for convenience.

We dropped into this place spontaneously for lunch having never visited but driven past so many times. I didn't realise until I was in that it is actually a number of independent food businesses. The setting is 'open', whilst well protected from the rain, isnt a place to drop by in the winter unless you want to eat with a coat one. Our family sampled food from the various retailers. The adults picked off the menu for saltbox and decided to have some cocktails too. We were bitterly disappointed. The margarita was doused far too much rocky salt on the rim, and the long Island ice tea lacked any flavour at all. The £14 Lamb Kofta with Mezze was presented, and the kofta and the various dips were colourful and delicious, although only came with less than teaspoonful dose of Tzatziki. Ultimately, left hungry and poor - 3 tiny kofta on a skewer, one flatbread where the underside had been bathing in the over-copious about a balsamic added to the meal, and could really do with another flatbread for the dips which I ended up eating with a fork. The chicken and Cornish burgers with fries were a slight step up, but overall we felt we wouldn't bother with the saltbar kitchen again. However, Woody's Pizza - absolutely outstanding. We had 2 pizzas across the kids and they were just phenomenal. Comparatively priced against the chain pizzas, but with that freshness and individuality that comes a independently made pizza. We absolutely would come back for this.

Fabulous in every way, The Suki Bowls are worth a long drive alone, Saltbox staff are super friendly & helpful we will be back.

Saturday night and almost empty...this really should have been the clue. I felt bad for the person who took our order, working in such a chaotic, noisy environment must be awful! If you want salty food this is the place to go. I suppose the clue is in the name. Everything we had was incredibly salty. Any flavours that might have been lurking in the "Korean" food was overrun by the salt. Taste zero, heart BPM 100. Thanks.

Would recommend this unusual little stop-in for drinks and a nice atmosphere and great music, but most definitely not the pizzas. We didn’t expect the pizzas to be particularly generous with toppings or in terms of size or thickness as they are of course stone baked, but to say they were lacking in all of the above would be an understatement - the cheese and tomato purée was so insanely sparse you genuinely couldn’t taste it, we had a total of about 4 needle thin slices of meat on each pizza, and the base itself was the thinnest we’ve ever seen to the point where it collapsed upon picking it up (yet the crusts were ridiculously thick). We were still very hungry after finishing both and at nearly £15 each we could have had a much better one elsewhere. I can only assume the two young women who took payment and appeared to be making the pizzas themselves must have had little to no training. Will most definitely not be wasting our money here on food again.

I've been to Saltbox a number of times... sometimes to eat and sometimes for drinks with friends. The atmosphere is casual and quirky! Knowing that each containers is occupied by start ups, it's great fun to support and encourage them! I last time I was there I had the Saltbar's hummus mesa..delicious! The complex works hard to work together to keep an easy vibe and is happy with constructive advice! Well done everyone there and looking forward to returning! Oh... and sometimes they have live music so it's the place to be!!

Had the opportunity to visit several times to this spot, and with so many yummy food choices I couldn’t help but be confused, at first, but then I landed on the tasteful Mediterranean mix of stuff on the SaltBox kitchen (mezze plate with delicious skewers)… add to that a perfect brew upstairs and it feels like I found home. What a cool place! Can’t wait to return.

Visiting the area as we are walking the south west coast path. Called in as we had seen it on line, we have to say what a great place. After much thought we decided on the Indian Street food. Wow, just wow, the lady was amazingly friendly and the curry (chicken for my wife and prawn for me) was the ABSOLUTE best we have ever had. Absolutely superb, would absolutely recommend and re visit when we are back in the area.

I live locally, so when I wanted somewhere easy, fun, interesting and cool I took my visiting relative to Saltbox for brunch. We both chose a crepe and were waited on quickly and with the casual, happy chat that I've come to expect. The coffee was strong, hot and delicious. The crepes were perfect and our all round experience, was again friendly and easy.

Nice place but disappointed with the food from Suki. Over priced for what it is!

The Nordic Spa was absolutely fantastic, we got their cycle + spa deal which included a day's bike hire for the camel trail and then an hour's spa session. We were able to order drinks from the hot tub, it was superbly relaxing. Afterwards we tried the pizza and bao buns, both were fantastic. I will say that the bar was really under-manned, the young lad working was doing a great job but there just wasn't enough of him to go around so it took quite a while to order drinks.

Great food always buzzing everyone relaxed conversations music whats to say just go there.

Such a great place to meet up with friends. It really is the best place to go for miles around. Great food and drinks from the roof top bar. Woukd recommend!

The food is tasty. Very tasty. But honestly. The food has been cold both times. They seem to wait to serve you the food. Both tacos and the chicken burger. The hot salsa was not hot at all though!

Went for my 50th. Nice place to hang out. Plant based menus too so we’ve ruined happy!

We stopped here on a rainy Wadebridge Monday for lunch. We had a veggie burrito, fish and lime tacos and a children's hotdog and chips meal with an apple juice, black coffee and tea. The tacos and burrito were excellent, being full of flavour and well cooked and presented. The hotdog was delicious and was served in a brioche roll. The atmosphere was bustling, I only wish the weather was good enough for us to sit upstairs. I really recommend this place, it was excellent!

Just had the worst burrito of my life. They asked if I wanted mild or hot salsa, I asked for hot, what I got was rice, sour cream and pulled pork. Barely any salsa, barely any flavour. Is this place hot and miss?

Really cool place especially if the weather is nice. There's a bar and several food outlets here. The place is built from old shipping containers, don't let it put you off tho, it looks good! We tried the Indian food outlet and separately the bar. The starters were really good, we shared the samosa chaat and another chaat dish between us, they tasted really good. We then got 3 other dishes for mains and some nans, the nans were nice. But the mains were average, maybe below average, they lacked taste and flavour and were watery. Shame really after the starters I had high hopes... the bar is well stocked and all the staff here were polite, there's a car park opposite and I think it's free after 6pm. The place is dog friendly too. Prices are what you expect to pay in Cornwall or on holiday... I'd come again, but maybe have a pizza or just drinks....

Unfortunately after trying Saltbox for the first time after moving to Wadebridge recently we were let down with our experience. We waited until 4.15pm to order our food which was fine as we were happy to wait and enjoy a lovely hot chocolate. After our wait we were the first to order and I asked for it to be take-away. There was a confusion with this in the kitchen and they plated half of our food, after mentioning it was a takeaway the chef grumbled and quickly tried to repackage our food. We got home to cold food and the wrong burgers. Disappointed as definitely can see the potential, hopefully just a blip as we were excited to return and try out the other vendors!

Absolutely loved this cool venue for breakfast. The best lattes and bacon and egg bagels. We bagged the weather too so was able to sit on the rooftop. Still serving these after 11.00am which was perfect for us on holiday after our visit to the gym. Really lovely guys working there too. Would definitely return and would also like to try the other eateries and bar in the shack if we were there later in the day.

Great food. only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because getting a seat is hit and miss… You have to find your own on long benches - some families get a seat and stay there for a long time after eating whilst people are left standing. Apart from that it’s great food, great concept and great choice…

Stunning food and excellent service

Stopped here on a Friday lunchtime after reading the previous good reviews and a long journey down to Cornwall on holiday. However, only one of the pods was open (even on a Friday lunchtime). We were greeted by a gruff person and told to “sit at a bench”. Asking what was available were were told “well we only have a cheese toasty” in a voice that sounded like they didn’t want us to really be there. The only saving grace were the 2 milkshakes my boys had which were very good. We left quickly to find somewhere else that would be more friendly and accommodating.

Great place with fantastic street food selection. Between 5 of us we had Pizza one of the best ever, burger and dirty fries looked great, and tapas which was really nice. To top it all the Harbour Lager was spot on

Great drinks, great service - highly impressed by the waitress. Tables were very socially distanced. Everything is very clean. The wine glasses are spotless. Would recommend!
