Star Nergis in Thanet

I came in here today for brunch. It wasn't particularly busy. I ordered a jacket potato, coffee and a poached egg on the side. The coffee was quite good. The food was delivered quickly, but despite that, it was delicious; the potato was done to absolute perfection and they threw in an extra egg for free. The service and food were far better than I expected, and I will be coming back soon.

Reasonably priced, great atmosphere and I love that the owner comes round to say hello to all the tables. Very nice touch

Serving bacon in a burger bun isn’t acceptable for the mornings!!!! And people have allergens, we asked for a bacon sandwich and you serve your frozen run down burger buns for breakfast. Absolute joke! I call up and not even an apology!!!! I will never ever go into that cafe again, plenty of others with REAL BREAD

We come here to have a breakfast with my partner weekly. We love the food, it's always very delicious. The staff are very polite and friendly, love to chat with them. We are always happy with the service. Thank you.

We asked for our bacon to be well done and as you can see it was the opposite! I won’t eat this, so two sandwiches wasted here. Not good service at all. I won’t be going back here again.

This shop is a good place to visit with very nice food. The serving is outstanding. i would suggest you try the food and drinks.

Good food at reasonable prices with friendly staff excellent chef and very clean surroundings,having a recent updated décor with new appliances.

I have been using this restaurant regularly for quite a few years. The food is consistently good and cooked fresh for you. The staff are all brilliant, very friendly and eager to make sure you enjoy your visit. I have no worries in highly recomending this restaurant.

this is a pleasant enough cafe, but regularly sells cans that should be sold as a pack not separately. Prices are expensive and not always gd quality. Bread is often stale and on occasions has had mould

Bussines trip, vent successful. End up with amazing brunch thanks to ercan and his hospitality.not far from the sea ,wish we had same coffee shop in maidenhead.

Ordered breakfast and 2 cappuccinos. The food came very quickly, but we had to wait 20 minutes for the coffees. We went to the counter to check a couple of times, and they said they were on their way. Got the impression we were imposing on them, as the staff sat together eating their breakfasts. Tables and floor had food on them - not sure how they attained a 5 for hygiene! Nice enough food but will not be going back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Children finished their plates as did hubby. Food was well presented, large portions. Lively atmosphere. Would reccomend. visit again soon....

Well i have tried all of the other cafe breakfasts in ramsgate so about time i reviewed this one. I must say i am greatly disappointed with this cafe and the poor quality food served at such high prices. The lady behind the counter was lovely and happy to help.The most depressing part of my visit was the rude obnoxious regular customers who feel it is their right to jump into a spare seat on your table (the outside is their space) then proceed to constantly nudge you and blow dirty cigarette smoke into your face whilr you try to eat. Never felt so unwelcome and will never return.

Finally got round to trying this café, and was a bit disappointed. There are on fixed seats, so a larger person like myself could not sit properly at the table. The toilets are up a few steps and are very cramped. I had the steak and kidney pie - the pastry was hard, I could not find any kidney and the peas (although there were plenty of them) were like cannonballs. The chips and gravy were fine, but overall it seems a bit overpriced for what it offers (£1.20 for a cup of tea). The service was slow considering there was only a handful of people in. I would think twice before going again.

used to dine in here but not now, used to be good prices but they have gone up staff are ok but ive noticed the plates have got smaller and meals nowhere near ths size they was wont be eating in here anymore still ok for a cuppa

Nice good value meal. Plenty to choose from. Friendly nice staff. Food was very nice. Been a while since I've been in, but it was as nice as the last time.

Popped in here for a bite to eat after exploring Ramsgate on holiday and seeing my partners old haunts. I had plaice and salad as I'm not keen on chips. There was plenty of salad and a nice sized bit of fish. My friend had the roast beef which was big, with plenty of vegetables and gravy. I did go for a dessert which was pancakes, but they were fairly average with a bit too much maple syrup for my liking. Other than that it was a nice cafe with friendly staff

Friendly staff good food and reasonably priced what more old you ask for when eating out on a budget

I used to come in here with my now late father-in-law. We both used to enjoy a meal and a coffee. The owners and the staff were always very friendly and helpful to us, and we both appreciated this. Well worth a visit.

£6 for a take away large breakfast. Greesy black greese on the egg where the grill was not cleaned 2 egg 2 bacon 2 sausage fried slice and beans no coffee no mushrooms no toast no bread

Went on an icy cold day and had omelette and salad and egg and chips. Service was very, very good and the place was full of locals. It was warm and welcoming and the food was just right for the weather!

El exterior y la decoración son el tipo de cosas que normalmente me quitó pero estábamos visitando como parte de la iniciativa "Ramsgate tienda local. Un grupo grande de nosotros fuimos y nos quedamos muy satisfechos con la comida y el servicio. El personal se ocupó muy bien.

Clean with quick service , on the food front however not so good we ordered burger and chips , the buns were black ( burnt ) they still served them knowing they were burnt ! When I pointed this out the server said " oh do you want me to take them back " err no luv I always eat burnt burger buns , doesn't everybody ??????

The food is the same, but with added tinsel and an illuminated Christmas tree. Many menu items are shown on posters round the walls, while the menu shows café as a Wimpy in 1975 and as it looks today. Quite a few smokers sitting outside, but overall not that busy, so a 20 minute wait for Spaghetti Boulognaise dragged, especially as the newspaper I picked off the rack was 8 days old! Waitress service but not that prompt. Over the road I was surprised McDonalds had closed down, which should help trade here. Soft drinks are supplied in the can with a straw - I would call this a family café with a few pre school children. But sausage and mash for £6 is a bit steep. Kids meals mainly with chips are £3.20 with drink.

I had a delicious breakfast it was yummy.spanish omelet is very testy.the service is fast and friendly.

First off they do not have an ingredients list for their menu, therefore, if you have an intolerance you are basically playing Russian roulette with your stomach.I ordered what should have been safe. Egg, bacon and chips and a cup of black coffee.It was not. The grease on the bacon was horrible, the egg was rubbery and the chips, were not chips they were fries, which are notorious for having wheat products in. The coffee was cheap and weak.My stomach took urgent action to expel whatever it was that I ate from my body. It was not pleasant in any way shape or form.My dining partner had beans, bacon, sausages, egg and mushrooms. He left 70% of his plate because it was grease laden and unpleasant to eat.Avoid.

Ordered lasagne and to my horror ended up with a large piece of plastic in my mouth called the waitress over to tell her she just took the plate away and said have you finished ??? She didn't bother telling the man that had cooked the food and was going to charge me full price until I mentioned what had happened again she then decided to pass my experience to the so called chef who didn't seem at all concerned and just said to take a couple of pounds of the bill wouldn't eat here again staff didn't care at all

The milky coffee, was ok BUT DO NOT HAVE THE NICKERBOCKER GLORY.... the worst ever!!! Served in plastic tall glasses and made with tats like Iceland frozen ice cream and barley any cream!!!!! We ordered 5 at £3 each!!!!!

Fantastic family cafe, fantastic value. Chips cooked to perfection, and the hot chocolates are fabulous here! Nice little Saturday jaunt with my mum and they know us so well we only have to walk in sometimes and they know our order! Fantastic!

This café in the town centre offers breakfasts, grills, omelettes, baked potatoes, and many sandwiches. The meals on the nearest board were at the same price in the laminated menu, from which I chose spaghetti bolognaise with grated cheese. Soft drinks are provided in an unopened can with a glass. The range of sweets is smaller ranging from toasted tea cakes for £1.20 to knickerbocker glory for £3. At lunch time business is brisk with outside tables occupied even in January. Turkish run, there was a café with same name in Dover until recently, Service is friendly and I was asked if I came from Ramsgate. They seem to hold their own with many other eateries close by including Subway next door and McDonalds opposite. Flyers were on offer for Turkish belly dance nights down the road in the Broadstairs Lodos meze grill.

It was a very cold day and I'm was so cold tired and hungry....I had a lovely lunch and a relaxing time I'm defenetly coming back again...
