Excellent fish and chips. It was much cheaper get our fish and chips here rather than the restaurants along the promenade. The staff were lovely and set us up a little table and couldn't do enough for us. 4 meals with extra sides and 4 cold drinks for £54 and probably the tastiest I've had.

Really good fish and chips. Staff are really friendly and attentive. Chose this take away based on reviews and wasn't disappointed. Will use again when visiting Herne Bay

Big thankyou to Jimmy went in there to get a sausage in batter and fish and chips , chips were cooked beautifully, fish lovely and flakey and the batter lovely and crispy just as it should be , first time we gave found this little gem . Best fish and chips we have had in Herne Bay , although a little way up the high street . Well worth the walk from Steve from Gravesend .

Fantastic taste size and quality. Cooked fresh in the shop and taken to the beach to eat. So hot had to leave a while and so much I had to leave a third of the large portions. A must

Was our anniversary and we have fish and chips on our said days . Looked at reviews and saw there very highly rated. We a cod and chips freshly cooked to order . Oh my they were divine, best cod and chips we have had , thin crispy batter with large chips . Delicious. Excellent friendly staff to Our go to place even though we travelled from iwade .

It's always difficult to know where to get good fish and chips when visiting the seaside on a day trip as you can so often get poor quality for the price. Not so here. We wandered up from the promenade and just took pot luck. Fish was freshly cooked to order, light crispy batter and tasted delicious. Chips were well cooked and lots of 'fat ones' and portion sizes were generous. Friendly service too.

This fish and chip shop really gets better by the week. My husband and I use this great fish shop a lot especially with us both working long hours. There is a variety of food to choose from and even slimming options such as fish (not battered) with salads and of course my absolute favourite curry sauce. The atmosphere is lovely with the staff always being very welcoming and always a smile for everyone even when they are really busy. I recommend this fish and chip shop very highly and as long as they are open would not go anywhere else. The picture I have showed does not show the amount of chips I was given as there were far more and the portions of all food are extremely generous. You can’t go wrong using this fish and chip shop and I guarantee you will not be disappointed .

Sticky chips and greasy fish. The chips were chunky and all stuck together, the fish looked good, but the batter was really greasy. Sorry, we did visit because the reviews were good, we won't be back.

The Star looks ordinary from the outside. But don't judge a book by its cover ! This fish and chip business is a family affair started by dad and now run by the son. They really know what they are doing and they are welcoming and friendly with it. The fish is FRESH, portions are generous and the chips are pretty good. My advice would be to choose haddock or cod and a side order of curry sauce for the chips. Fish Friday heaven.

Ordered fish and chips for two, we had huge portions which were of great quality. Highly recommended!!!!! I did a review a month ago titled: "Not so good I'm afraid", this was in error and was meant for the Fish in two chip shop which is further down the road. I offer my sincerest apologises to the management for this error and i have asked trip advisor to kindly remove it immediately. Best wishes for the future and keep up the great work.

This fish and chip shop just gets better and better. The staff are so welcoming and polite and always go out of their way to make the atmosphere really pleasant. This take-away offers an array of many different dishes and we usually come out of the Star fish bar with something different every time, I have to say we haven’t been disappointed with anything we have purchased and if you like curry sauce then try the Star fish bar’s as it’s the best I’ve tasted as yet. The fish is a delight and the portions are extremely generous. If you are looking for a really good fish and chip take-away in Herne Bay, try this one as you won’t be disappointed.

We travel to Herne Bay at least once a week for fish & chips. We have tried several over the last couple of years, but none of them come up to the standard of Star Fish Bar. They must use the best cuts because the fish is always chunky, white and proper flakes when you cut into it. I can highly recommend them, why don`t you try them you won`t be disappointed .The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

This fish and chip shop just gets better. The people are so polite and make you feel really welcome. I always have the haddock which is cooked to perfection each time. I think we have practically tried everything from pies to sausages not forgetting the gorgeous mushy peas. The curry sauce is absolutely lovely and you won't get that anywhere else I doubt. Give this chip shop a try a try because you won't be disappointed . It's also very near the beach which is a bonus for people who wish to eat chips as a picnic when sunbathing..

I have not been disappointed at all since using this excellent fish and chip shop. We found this place when we wanted to treat the ladies in our care home to a good fish and chip supper and they all really enjoyed their meal. My husband and I now use the "The Star Fish Bar" on a regular basis and not once have we been disappointed. The staff are very welcoming and the portions very generous. The variety of food is also very good and we have tried a wide range of food, not being disappointed once. The curry sauce is absolutely fantastic. If you want good fish and chips then this is the place to go to.

My partner and I popped in to the fish bar after we were made aware that it had changed owners. Upon entry I must say it's the cleanest fish bar I have ever been to, that's for sure. The food was cooked fresh and it was delicious. This is an up market tasting fish bar at very very reasonable prices! Will be returning very soon!

The Starr Fish Bar is the best takeaway around as far as I'm concerned. The portions are very generous and very good value for money. The curry sauce is absolutely lovely and definitely home made which is a rarity these days. The staff are are all very courteous and make you feel very welcome even when they are very busy which is practically all the time now. If you are living in Herne Bay and decide to have a takeaway, you should definitely give "The Star Fish Bar" a try as you won't be disappointed.
