This was a takeaway. Quality and quantity of food for price paid was dreadful. Chicken tikka starter shows 4 skewers with chicken + veg....now I didn't expect four skewers worth (or skewers), but there was no veg at all, only a very unappetisinng watery substance. Other dishes ordered were poor in quantity and quality. Pilau rice was boiled rice with few grains of pilau scattered on top. In fairness, Armans chicken curry was "okay." Salad that came with dishes was awful. Last weeks salad leaves, no tomato, only and odd purple water, not palatable at all. If I wasn't so far away and it wasn't so wet I would have taken back. Salad fit only for bin. I am here on holiday, picked this based on other people's recommendations. My recommendation is, avoid it. £60 odd quid down the drain. Won't be back.

Amazing food! Beautiful little restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. Highly recommend for tourists who are looking for an alternative to pubs!

They got the order totally wrong they tried charging us for food we didn’t order. The bill was £67 we gave them £50 as we wasn’t willing to pay anymore , got locked in the restaurant, phone stolen and a kitchen knife swung at us ( over £17) , police got called , the chef was arrested phone and money given back and we went on are way 👊🏻

We have had take aways from this restaurant before,and they were fantastic Tonight's food was mediocre, very small portions for the price,salad and sauce for Chicken tikka were not in the bag. We could have had a sit down meal in a better restaurant cheaper tban this. Something has gone seriously wrong here,chef change or owner change,not what it used to be.😒

We visit this area from Scotland on a regular basis and always visit Star Anise. The food is wonderful, very authentic. Everything is freshly prepared. I can honestly say that this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have experienced and the service is excellent. It is only a small restaurant and this only adds to the feeling of being really catered for. All the staff go the extra mile to make your dining experience a pleasure.

One of the best curries I've had. Not out of a jar here -- my meal was freshly cooked. Very knowledgeable about which dishes were vegan or could be made vegan.

Was awful from start to finish we had to get there move tables to accommodate a party which had been booked for weeks.. Then ordered food around 7.30 and waited until around 8.30/9 before food came out they brought out some peoples starters some peoples mains and never brought some people there food at all people ended up getting money back or not paying we waited until 9.30 before getting our main courses so we asked if we could just take ours home in takeaway tubs which they then made us pay for. Food was horrible curries where swimming in oil.. chicken tikka pieces where yellow and tasted of lemon.. chicken pakoras where chicken strips from Iceland and one looked pinky red inside.. the only good thing about the whole night was the young waiter that looked like he was school age trying to go above and beyond to please everyone on his own because the owners/chefs/other waiter didn't have a clue! Would not recommend!!

Fabulous food. We ate here twice when staying in Brampton for a few days. The best biryani I have ever had, great menu, excellent service. Naan breads are exceptional, lamb madras, prawn delight and on the second visit we had a selection of starters. Can’t wait for our next visit in January. If you like curry, this is the place to go!

How do manage to serve chicken tikka masala without any sauce. It’s bright red. Hard to miss it !! £70 and 15 miles to take it back.

On time delivery and the food was delicious! We had chicken makhani & chicken madras with rice & naan bread. Food arrived piping hot & we both enjoyed it!

We often order a delivery from here the food is lovely, apart from when they store the Paratas in the same packet as it makes them soggy. Everything else is absolutely amazing though I would have given 5 stars but sadly we can't always get delivery due to no driver, it doesn't always say this on the website so I'll order everything then get a call saying no driver. Which leaves very disappointed children, this is the only thing that's letting them down as the food is delicious.

Just popped in on the off chance and on arrival we were made to feel very welcome. There is a really good selection of dishes on the menu, so we asked Aida (barman & waiter) for more of an Indian recommendation, he suggested Shatkora and Ghorer Murghi as the two main dishes, OMG the food was fresh and very tasteful. If we are back in the area, we will be calling in again! Thank you.

Pre ordered a delivery on their app at 4.30. (they open at 5). No delivery time was asked for and not even an option on the app. Upon placing the order the app said delivery in 1 hour, then when I looked again it said 6.30. Ok so an hour and a half for a takeaway well at least the app let me know, however by 7pm still no delivery, I phoned and was told it will be there soon. Well when it finally arrived, the bajis were lukewarm and stale, the chicken bhuna was also only Luke warm and the chicken dry and clearly just added to the sauce at the last minute. The only redeeming thing was the rather small naan bread, that was easily revived by a few minutes in the oven. So a very late delivery , Luke warm food, small portion all for £26. The sad thing is that we have eaten in the restaurant several times and had excellent food and service, the first time we get a delivery it's a disaster. We won't be getting one again.

When spending £70 on a takeaway from Star Anise in Brampton. In the order were 2 chicken tikka masala, without any sauce whatsoever , How do they manage it , it’s bright red. To far to take back and ruin all the others, chicken Kidman sauce Wes actually like water. This is 3rd time for a carry out from Star Anise that we have been disappointed. No more, just won’t go back

Excellent service and the tastiest of Indian cuisine. Tonight we had the Star Anise meat platter starter and honestly I have never tasted anything like it and our main courses were equally as good. I can't see why anyone would give Star Anise less than five stars.

Perfect traditional curry if that's what you want but please do try some of the chefs specials, fish dishes, lamb shanks all experts created and the ingredients are obviously high quality.

First visit and won’t be our last. Service good but food outstanding. Time will tell but if the standard is maintained this is one heck of a find having just moved less than a mile away :-)
