Stapeley House Tea Room in Cheshire East

I visited with 3 friends on Monday 19th December for a fabulously fresh festive afternoon tea and a wonderful time. We were warmly greeted into the tea lounge, which was packed to the rafters with a large party and many other tables were taken too. There was a warm and cosy festive feel, with christmas music adding to the great atmosphere. Although the lovely staff were kept very busy, they were happy, smiling and nothing was too much trouble and we were soon seated with a festive drink in hand, which is a lovely idea and makes The Nantwich Tea Lounge afternoon tea stand out from the rest. When our bulging stands of festive goodies arrived at the table, it was very clear that everything was freshly made, with an assortment of sandwiches, which included turkey & cranberry, roast beef & horseradish and cheese & pickle, with a tasty mini sausage roll. Then we started on the layer of beautifully home baked scones with clotted cream & strawberry jam. After that we moved onto our delicately made cakes, which are lovingly created in house, (unlike in other places, where they come straight from the packet) which included a decadent chocolate truffle, a mini mince pie with a soft sponge top, a homemade glass of sherry trifle - which was simply divine. But we were defeated by the gorgeous white chocolate & orange cup cakes and had to box them up to take home. The photo I have posted shows a stand shared between 2. There was loads of goodies and it was all delicious! Without doubt this was an extra special luxurious, delicious afternoon which I would highly recommend and repeat any day of the week. Thank you to the staff, who were so friendly and helpful. If you haven't visited yet, make sure you do!

Called here yesterday to meet friends and have a coffee and food, but found that it doesn’t’ exist and was told it hasn’t been there for a long time. Very disappointed!!

GREAT LITTLE TEA ROOM! We’ve been to many tea rooms but none beat this one …. in a nice location, with great food and staff that can’t do enough for you. Make sure you visit! 😃

What a lovely little place– Came here for breakfast and enjoyed it so much came again the next day! Friendly staff, great service, great menu options, tasty food and good value. The first day my partner had the Standard Breakfast (sausage, bacon, egg, beans, black pudding and mushrooms) whilst I had the Staffordshire Oat Cakes (which I chose to have with cheese, mushroom and sausage) – they were delicious, had never had them before, but would definitely have them again! On the second day my partner had Eggs Benedict and I had the Halloumi Breakfast Stack (chargrilled halloumi with poached egg, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes) it was really tasty! They also do lunches and cakes. They do recommend that you book or phone in advance to let them know you are coming.

Never been before , but have passed many times . Breakfast was tasty and staff very friendly . Lots of options on menu .Defo will return .

Booked afternoon tea for my dad's 80th birthday . The afternoon tea was excellent plenty of sandwiches and cakes . So good we booked in for breakfast the next day which was also superb. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend it .

This is a great place for breakfast lunch and CAKES. Everything is home made. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. A great place MickH

3 course Xmas lunch for £17. 95 was FAB-U-LOUS, all our food was hot & perfectly cooked, followed by complimentary mince pies & coffee or tea, we took the mince pies home as we were all too full! Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff.

We visited here today for lunch . We ordered the beef stew which came with red cabbage n a large chunk of warm bread it tasted absolutely beautiful .the best stew we have ever had .we had a massive lovely warm fruit scone with clotted cream n jam to share for desert that was just has good has the stew .we will definitely visit again . Toilets were lovely n clean and hand sanitizer on all tables n glass dividers between close tables so all covid secure .

Dropped in last minute for a spot of lunch. All home made we had omelette & Welsh rarebit both made to order plus coffee & walnut cake to follow which was huge. Great food & great value.

Found this lovely tearoom just on outskirts of Nantwich after looking at other TripAdvisor reviews. We were very glad we visited. Fantastic staff, very welcoming and great food. Omelette and Welsh rarebit delicious. Good selection of food on menu. Very clean tables and comfortable. All in all a 5 star tearoom.

This is a lovely tea room. We visit regularly usually for breakfast. Their cheese on toast is divine especially if you add poached eggs as a topper. It is a small place and exceptionally clean and tidy. No problems when reopened after pandemic. The staff are so friendly too. Well worth a visit.

We had a great buffet delivered on a Sunday to feed 24. Excellent fresh food and more than enough food to feed everyone Thanks to Karen and her crew it was much appreciated

We had meant to call in here several times since moving to Nantwich prior to the first lockdown, but managed today! Wow! What a fabulous tearoom! From the exceptionally efficient and friendly service to the amazing freshly cooked food. Can’t recommend highly enough. Hubby had the mushroom and ham omelette which was light and fluffy- I had the garlic creamy mushrooms on sourdough toast- beautiful. We followed with a slice of coffee cake and lemon cake all washed down with coffee. We will be back. Thank you. Xx

Lovely afternoon tea. Very accommodating for my disabilities as I am fussy with my food. Excellent customer service and fantastic food. I will definitely be back. Very nice. Very fresh. Staff very attentive

Visited for the first time for a catch up over breakfast with a friend. The lady who served us was lovely and nothing felt too much trouble. Food was really good value and fresh, I had the poached eggs and avocado and it was delicious. My friend and I lost track of time chatting but were never made to feel like we were being a nuisance or rushed, and were even offered a tea top up. Loved the relaxed vibe and the food, we will definitely be back.

Lunch with a friend. Good menu and value for money. Had excellent chicken, bacon and avocado salad under £7! They do afternoon teas and home made cakes. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended for quiet, understated venue.

Well worth every penny. It will feed us both for a while. All food fresh and tasty with pleasant service. We would recommend this wholeheartedly a proper teaparty. Thanks very much John and Diane

Lockdown visit ... pity it’s closed during Lockdown 2. Came with friend for afternoon tea. Good value with lots of food so took some home in doggy bag. Had not been here before and they were very good at cleaning tables. Plastic screens between tables, sanitiser etc. Will visit again once this lockdown is over. Booking is some way ahead so would make provision for that.

Visited the Tea Room for the first time today and must say we were impressed. The Steak and Ale Pie was delicious and a good portion size. Service was friendly and prompt. The Covid arrangements were well organised. The cafe was quite busy, so you would be wise to phone ahead to book a table. I’m sure we will be visiting again soon.

Delicious chicken pie and apple pie was home delivered. The pastry melted in your mouth and both had lots of filling. A really lovely home treat . Many thanks.

Very clean and very COVID secure. Delicious food and friendly staff. A bit tricky to find but fortunately taken here by friends who knew where to go. Worth a visit. Will be back next time we are in the area as definitely worth the effort. Took cake home with us too as just could resist a take out back to our canal boat. Thank you ladies

All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunchtime meal, 2 quiches, panini and fish finger sandwich. Staff were delightful and that’s with a spike in customer numbers. Well geared up for Covid, screens provides, sanitising hand wash on each table along with pen and bespoke track and trace form. Small details I know and underlines much they’ve thought about things. Also watched the cleaning of each table after use - thorough and attention to detail are the first words that spring to mind. Going to book for afternoon tea.

Visited yesterday for breakfast for two. Superb food, great choice on menu, my grandaughter said best poached eggs ever!! Very pleasant staff, and very Covid secure, track and trace in place. Spotlessly clean. Part of £10 dine out scheme too!! Will be back.

Just visited stapeley house tea rooms ,for afternoon tea with a friend ,the sandwiches were lovely and fresh, and the cakes were homemade and lovely , the scone , clotted cream and homemade jam was delicious , the service was efficient and very friendly ,all set in a beautiful room which was very spacious , I can highly recommend, and will definitely be returning

We are not vegetarians but the veggie breakfast here is just great value. Well worth a stop off, situated between Bridgemere Garden centre and Nantwich on the A51.The selection here is just good value, well cooked food, always served with a smile. We are planning to stop off for one of their afternoon teas next time !

I have been to the cafe several times recently for lots of different food. It has all been of the highest quality and the service has been brilliant. I would definitely recommend taking a visit

I called on the way to Nantwich on business and I was very hungry .I was showed to a table by one of the lovely members of staff and I ordered a premium breakfast.After being served my drink to the table my breakfast arrived all cooked fresh and delicious and amazing value for money .It’s not the first time Ive visited the tea rooms and it won’t be the last every time I visit the staff and service are excellent and the food delicious and great portions .If you are visiting on business or with friends I highly recommend it and please sample the afternoon teas they are superb .Many thanks Team Stapeley .

Great afternoon tea for a friends birthday, food was great and plenty of it, will definitely come back again

Arrived for afternoon tea which my lovely friend had bought me as a treat The Tea Tea room its self is lovely and very quiet. We had plenty of tea and Coffee. As the Lady went to put the cake stand on the table the bottom plate with the sandwiches went straight onto the floor she picked them up put them on the plate and went back to the kitchen no explanation like sorry please wait a while whilst we make you some fresh sandwiches. It didn't seem to take long before the sandwiches were back on the table and no explanation or reassurance that these were a plate of newly prepared sandwiches. Just left me wondering as you can imagine. It was all a bit awkward.

My friend and I had the traditional afternoon tea as a birthday treat. To quote my friend " it was Lush!" We were greeted with a glass of bucks fiz in the prettily decorated tea room. The table was laid with lovely china and the food arrived on a three tier tea stand. We were treated to a selection of dainty sandwiches ( crusts off) , sausage rolls, crisps and coleslaw, followed by scones with clotted cream and jam, dainty fruit tartlets, mini Victoria sponges, chocolate cake fingers, and a delicious raspberry and cream fool. We couldn't eat it all so our waitress brought us 2 sturdy boxes to take the remaining cakes home. All this for less than £20 for 2. We will definitely be going again.

I work next door so really easy to get too, can order online but have been a few times to collect and they haven't received email! they did apologise and once relayed order they got it sorted for me. Food is nice and fresh, the chicken new yorker goes down a storm in our office! If I have one complaint it would be that they keep running out of oatcakes but that is just a supply and demand issue, would prefer them to run out than end up throwing them away. I just hope that this place can get the people through the doors to keep it going as it is a little gem!

Visité el té en mi día llamando entre los recados, y yo tenía una salchicha y tocino baguette junto con un caramel latte. Había un montón de salchichas y bacon, que era bueno, porque yo comer mucho!El pan también era fresca y el servicio amable añadido al precio razonable recomendaría llamar!

came here for lunch, food was excellent had the large breakfast box and a sausage role both were very tasty and reasonably priced. great atmosphere and fresh food, would definitely recommend

This little tea room is a gem for good homecooked food.

Found this tea room by accident whilst on the way to Chester. The room had a clean, bright and cheerful atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a sandwich and coffee which were both excellent. All the food was freshly prepared and there was plenty of it! Even my wife was impressed and that is an achievement in itself !!!.

Since being bought out, this tearoom is a disaster. The portions are small and overpriced, how anyone thinks that this is acceptable is beyond me. I really hope they take on board the advice and feedback but for now I will refrain from using this tearoom.

I have found that under new management I have been very disappointed in not only the food portions but also the prices. The portion sizes are unbelievably small. A sausage roll costing £1 was no bigger than 7cm (it was a microwaved soggy mess), a sausage bap costing nearly £3 consisted of 1 chipolata sausage and a small carton of juice was 85p! The prices are even more expensive if you choose to dine in e.g. a cheese salad is £4.95!! If a bit more love was put into the food and the prices were brought down it would make me want to visit again, until this happens I won't be going back.

This cafe has a lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere and great home made food. Just discovered they do outside catering and childrens party boxes! Got my xmas order in for some help with the boxing day buffet! worth a visit!

The food here is always delicious and freshly cooked with many different specials offered each week. The staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The cafe itself is as clean as a 5 star restaurant and a perfect place to meet.

Tucked away at Stapeley House. You'd drive past and miss it. It's clean and contemporary, with just enough feel of the great building it's within. The food is typical cafe style, but what is not typical is the quality, all home made here. Daily specials plus favourites Like ADB sandwiched panini's plus lighter bites. Food and staff are friendly and can't do enough.

Great for eating on the go. Fresh homemade food, served by friendly staff. Ready prepared sandwiches are delicious- and great choice of new specials every week.
