Terrible service Chips are soggy, fish is stodgy with a fatty batter. Overpriced drinks. Would avoid at all costs. Hi

I ordered Fish and Chips on behalf of my nephew through Just Eat because he wanted to eat between shifts however the delivery took over two hours by which time my nephew had left to return to work. The order was cold and the delivery driver almost threw them at me. We paid £10 for fish and chips and delivery £10 which ended up in rubbish bin.

Absolutely Shocking. Ordered through Just eat for 7:30, we got a call saying they were here but they told us they were on a different road which is a fair distance away, so we told them where we were, when they never arrived I walked all the way over to the street they were on and they were nowhere to be seen, atleast a 20 minute walk uphill. My girlfriend is then yelled at by a worker, saying we didn't pick it up despite them never arriving. Bearing in mind they SHOULD KNOW WHERE WE ARE. We ordered through Just Eat we had to put our adress and postcode so they should already know that. I phoned 15 times and got through to them. They said 20 mins it's on it's way. Never arrives. I phone again and I got asked "You still want your order?" OF COURSE I DO. Again 20 mins they said and still nothing. We got a refund through Just Eat amd are never coming back. Shocking Customer service, very rude and completely oblivious. Would not recommend to anyone. Not worth the hassle

This Fish and Chips is great, the best in Winchester for sure! The guy is so friendly and lovely, half the reason we go is to say hi to him. Generous portions and good value for money. 10/10 always come here.

Best fish and chips in the area. Really hot, fresh and tasty. The idiots that moan about the food being cold etc. you should know this is not the shops fault but the delivery company you use to deliver your order. But what do you expect if you’re too lazy to go out. The food is excellent and will always use. Thank you Stanmore Fish & Chips!

Appalling service. Avoid at all costs. Food never even arrived, so couldn’t comment on the quality but after an hour and a half “out for delivery” I can’t imagine it would be something to write home and tell the kid’s about.

Absolutely awful don’t bother! Chips were chewy, cold and just inedible. The fish was chewy and leathery, not proper cod or cooked well. First and last time ordering from here! I gave it one star because I had to!

Fish was drenched in oil and when called back to explain, the response was “fish gets cooked in oil, what is your problem!” Never will I get food here again!

Absolutely horrific. Did a large order, one persons food did not come. Then called to ask where it was, we were told 10 mins away. 20 mins later and no food so rang back. Phone was busy all night and food never came. Rung up the next day and I have never spoken to a ruder group of staff! The first man hung up on me halfway through explaining the issue! Then when I called back asking for a refund they were refusing to give one. and denied that we had a contract with them (we did, google it and educate yourselves). Ended up going through JustEat to get a refund. The food we did get was cold and stale. Terrible food and even worse staff.

We always like this pub for food and that the costs are kept at a decent price. Always give you good size portions too. We have found staff always busy, the thing is you can’t tell if it’s a pub or a restaurant. Which is quite confusing, trying to do both and when you’re queuing you don’t know if it’s for food or just drinks. There is one lady there that is quite rude to people but we didn’t see her this time. But this lady will ruin this pub if she isn’t careful. But we do like the food here!

This pub proclaim on their very own website to be a ‘friendly local pub’, ‘families welcome’, ‘friendly publicans’, ‘where community comes together’, ‘you’ll feel part of the family’…which is quite frankly outrageous given our two experiences here. On the first occasion my little boy became upset in the pub (over something i cant remember- but hes 4, so standard 4yo behaviour which lasted only a minute or two). And when i came back in from the garden, I heard them laughing and one member of staff said ‘hes a brat, and his mother just cant control him which isnt my problem’. Then (heaven knows why we went back) - my friends little boy cut his cheek on the side of a bench in the beer garden - they refused to give us any first aid or call a taxi for A&E, let alone any empathy or basic duty of care. When my husband challenged the manager (Ade) and he said to us ‘if i had my way id make this an adults only pub so we dont have to deal with these nightmare kids’. I could not believe how cruel and uncaring the people working here could be. A little boy had hurt himself and they couldn’t have cared less- but more than that- they were hostile, unhelpful and offensive about the whole thing. Despite it being our local, we have not returned- and we will not be.

lovely pub but my only complaint is that legaly when a drink has been served that drink must be supplied to the recipient no matter what the time is and in the case of my visit i bought a drink near closing time and as soon as I bought that drink it was taken of me which is not just illegal but also unfair so for this reason I can not recommend this establishment at all

£26.50 for a day pass, although asked for £30 which includes donation. Our party was made up of 5 adults - we didn’t donate. To put into context, my husband and I have been members of Marwell in our days before our children. It holds a special place in our hearts. We moved away but always managed to make at least 2 visits a year as the children grew up & still do - the kids are now into their 20’s and often visit with us. Sadly the experience over the last 10 -15 years has progressively gotten worse. Every time we go we hope it will be better. Marwell was always at the forefront of conservation and education & had an extremely successful breeding program for the rhinos and giraffes. Much money has been spent on enclosures that didn’t work, the snow leopards, the cheeta, the walkway over the persian leopard, now cloud leopard, the new tropical house, the gibbon enclosure, kids play areas. Now it is a shell. Few animals, lots of paddocks full of weeds, & plastic bottles & little or no information. The annual membership is a steal but place feels more of a kiddies play area than a serious home for conservation and education. It’s expensive and disappointing. Bit on context - The Cotswold Wildlife Park is £19 for an adult. A much smaller facility but full of animals and information & staff happy to help and answer questions.

Came in for some drinks with friends- the women wouldn’t leave us alone the whole night. Watched us on the CCTV when we weren’t doing anything wrong and asked us to leave when we had bought lots of drinks. The food is sub par and the drinks extortionate . There are so many better pubs in Winchester so go to them.
