It’s been a while since we’d been and we enjoyed it so returned to find the food ok, the staff disinterested and my daughter didn’t get her meal.

Amazing lunch wonderful staff what a fantastic pub. Just looked at their Christmas menu and it looks absolutely great we will be back here for sure

We were looking for a pub to go to for a quick meal near our hotel after flying in from the states. This pub fit the bill as it was less than half a mile from our hotel. It sealed the deal that we walked over at around 4:30 and there was a jazz band starting at 5. They were very good and although we didn’t stay for their second set, they were going to have a jam session for anyone who wanted to join in. There is little food other than a variety of burgers. We ordered one with some plain fries and it was worth every calorie. The burger had two patties of the smash variety and we ordered it without the house sauce.

I actually ate here May 2023. This restaurant is close to the hotel we were at and when I saw it, I knew I was going to love the food. Everything was delicious. 10/10 recommend. It has the feel of a neighborhood place where everyone knows each other. As an American tourist, I didn't feel out of place but also not like a neighbor. Staff were helpful, food came in a timely manner.

Love the food and the staff are so so nice and welcoming.Nice song's as well.Highly recommended.Best burger i have ever had.

Pub looks great from the outside that’s where the positive points end Busy Christmas night , walked in 10 people in queue at the bar , one young lad taking food orders and serving drinks no other staff to be seen anywhere Tables full of half eaten food and dirty plates and glasses No clear table anywhere all loaded with disgarded plates and food No atmosphere No staff presence Sat down at one table and someone came up to us and said that’s reserved no sign nothing Searched for a staff member no one but a very stressed young man serving a queue of 10 no waitresses bar staff nothing We left at the same time 3 other people Left Pub was gloomy cold and dead what a shame at the most busy time of year

I had my 24th birthday gathering upstairs on Saturday, and I can't find any faults. The staff were lovely, the room was perfect and the outside area was so nice. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. Thank you to Alex for helping with the organisation and getting the room ready. I will definitely be back soon. Thank you again!

This was a horrible experience in a pub... To start things off, the manager (or senior person on shift), was incredibly rude and it is no wonder that no one was sitting inside if this is their normal attitude. It appears the beer/ale lines haven't been cleaned in a long time, the beer didn't taste as it should (defiantly a funky taste which it should have had). It is recommended that lines should be cleaned fortnightly, I would say it hasn't been cleaned in months. The toilets were in a bad way, looked like they haven't been cleaned properly in a while and tiles missing from the walls. It is stark contrast from other pubs in Bristol and as someone who isn't from the area, I will not be happy coming back into this pub when I am next in the area.

Having been told by staff and management of the Stag and Hounds that Marston’s no longer do table service I was surprised to find the Summerhouse in WSM (also a Marston’s venue). Continue to offer a table service as they always have done. Guess where we go now.

I was scooting past and someone called to say my bag was open. I stopped and two bottles fell out, one popped the top and one completely smashed outside the pub . I went in to the pub and the staff member was good enough to give me a broom and pan and I cleared it up. They were clearly cultured and understanding. Whilst there and after cleaning up the glass, I was speaking to a punter and thought I'd finish the 2nd bottle, that hadn't smashed but was open. The owner came out and despite explaining what had happened, he had a go at me and a punter and didn't care that it was an accident. Not good what so ever - it wasn't intended and it just happened. Clearly not Bristol ownership/a Bristol manager at heart.

Food was good the service from Caroline was great! We stopped here on our way to Bristol Airport. It’s a nice tranquil pub, loads of parking and just of the main road.

Lovely food , great service particularly from Ryan, warm friendly atmosphere, can highly recommend the pub and food.

Pub traditionnel et historique; bières et cidres de qualité Y avons mangé une délicieuse pizza cuite sur pierre. Pâte sablée et cloquée comme il se doit; on se serait cru a Napoli! Même la passata de tomates était digne du Sud.

Really nice spot. Conveniently at the bottom of Old Market. Friendly staff, good few beers on tap. Delicious food in big portions. Not a bad price for what you get either!

Over-all, it's a bit of a challenge to know what to say about this old-fashioned coaching inn, turned sports bar! Ramshackle, run down feel is made up for by cheerful friendly staff and tip-top pizzas. I can say with confidence that the pizzas are as good as you are going to get. Beer choice is average. Decore is tired but if all you want is a choice of pizzas, freshly cooked and with great quality ingredients, plus a pint of somthing wet to wash it down, that's what you'll get !!

this pub is reopening soon and when we visited last we were appalled by the state of the carpets! I hope they get this sorted as it used to be a good pub!

It's closed now so it's pointless reviewing something that no longer exists. It was a good pub but apparently was to lively and it's now likely to be flats.

We waited an hour and half for food order it came out cold rude service when asked about where food was she replied "I'm busy" absolutely appalled will not be coming here again!

Stopped off for a lunch with the family - absolutely excellent food and service great value for money.

Great value for money with a large family celebrating two birthdays. Good service plus entertainment as we visited on a Monday which is quiz night.

No reservamos una mesa, ya que era una tarde del martes, cuando llegamos nos quedamos agradablemente nos dijo que no sería una espera de 45 minutos por la comida. Eso estuvo muy bien, ya que había dos parejas y estábamos disfrutando de una bebida en la mesa que nos dieron. Tras pedir nuestras comidas, llegamos después de unos 10 minutos. Estaban bien presentada y había mucho espacio en los platos. Todos disfrutamos tanto entrantes, plato principal y postres. El servicio era bueno y muy amable. Volveremos seguro!

Free entry, free bands, good prices in this old style pub. Could do with some toilet paper in the ladies though ;-)

A typical city centre pub - but marked by good real ale on tap and also as a venue for local bands. Friendly and helpful bar staff

Visité el Stag and Hounds durante su "gratuita para todos" festival, un mes "gratis" fiesta de muchos conciertos cada noche, y el lugar era absolutamente mece. Bandas alternaba arriba y abajo, lo que significa que no hay un solo minuto aburrido, pero la larga y serpenteante bar significaba que el servicio era un pedazo de pastel, nunca tener que esperar para una bebida. Los precios eran muy razonables (especialmente con 8 o más bandas gratis para ver) y la terraza de fumadores en la azotea era casi exótico en su naturaleza.

Laid out like a restaurant, offering buy one main course get one free..Really, the pricing of the meals is double an average pub meal, so not much free there! Not good value for the single traveller!!

Called for a drink at lunchtime. Unsure about the ale on offer I was invited to taste a sample. Pleasant pubby atmosphere. Recommended

Well kept pint,served by the chef,one thing turn the extraction in kitchen to full if you are leaving the fat fryers on all day,breathing that in,you might as well smoke!

Friendly staff and very welcoming. I suffer from lactose intolerence and the member of staff was very helpful to get a suitable dish for me and the experiance all in all was best ive had from a pub anywhere. O and its 2 for 1 so its cheap too!!

We were there for a wedding party, but i've been in before a few times. The staff are brilliant, they have loads of gigs on and the food is always great. Exactly what you want from a good pub.

Went in on a brief evening pint with work mates. Atmosphere friendly and happy, very comfy! Good drinks selection. Few of the group ordered food which was received promptly and was very enjoyable!

The place was empty when we arrived so 12 of us ordered food and drinks and sat down to wait.30 minutes later, some food had arrived but the first few orders had not! So I asked about the food and received a barrage of abuse from the bar man who took the order, and apparently, he could not find us in the empty pub !I received a refund just as my order arrived, now nearly 1 hour after ordering! The place is a complete shambles, run by incompetent and rude staff.Do not venture past the threshold
