This local pub closed because of covid, but has reopened under new management and they serve good food and also have a room for private functions and the buffets provided are good. However, some of the clientelle leave a great deal to be desired. I've been in several times for a pint in the afternoon and every time there has been a foul-mouthed idiot there who has a vocabulary where every second word begins with 'F.' Just been in on a Friday afternoon and there were 4 blokes swearing and cursing, one of whom was obviously well-oiled and who jokingly went behind the bar to get himself a tot of spirits. It's up to the management to control these cretins, or are they just happy if they're spending money and they don't want to attract decent people.

We went here for Sunday dinner. 17/03/2024. We opted for two large dinners. One beef and one pork dinner £12 each. After being served we sat at the table. After around a 15 minute wait our dinner arrived. Quite a lot on the plate to be honest, carrots, peas, roast potatoes, mash, two Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and slices of meat and gravy. I went for the carrots first, they were warm to cold, after that I sampled each item and they were the same very slightly warm(more on the colder side than warm). The meat was cold! Basically like it just came out the fridge. The gravy was the same. It was like our dinners were left on the side counter and left for 10 minutes before giving it to some lucky couple. That unlucky couple was us. Both meals were the same cold meat and cold to warm veg potatoes etc. We ate it as quickly as we could as not wanting to cause a stir. While waiting there was a guy dressed in a St Patrick's outfit who worked there collecting plates etc, He was joking to customers asking if everything was OK a did they enjoy their food, they said yes and he reply back "it wasn't to cold was it" I didn't realise that this wasn't a joke and true. To be honest the food was ok but due to the fact the food came out Basically warm to cold and the meat stone cold, we personally would not recommend this place for Sunday dinner.

A very quiet and obviously a locals pub. The food was reasonably priced but it was barely cooked and unappetising

Staff was very good. And reception my assistant in Ravina. Behavior is unaccepted I am very happy. That I got a home like atmosphere in the hotel and I enjoyed a lot. Udaipur was my first tour so I had a lot of fun and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Ok it’s not going to win any Michelin stars but it does serve great home cooked food at very reasonable prices. Limited menu but all is very well cooked and very nice. Great local pub serving the community with good food and drink. What more can you ask?

The Staff of Life has been my 'local' for 50 years, but has been shut for 15 months. My wife and I went in for a pint the other evening and were surprised to be charged £7.00 for a pint of John Smith's bitter and a pint of shandy ie £3.50 a pint, The Staff is pleasant enough, but certainly not an upper class establishment, Bear in mind that a local Craft Union pub charges £1.85 for the same product, Wetherspoons charge less than £2.00 and a local Stonehouse Carvery charges £3.10, this really is taking the mickey. Such prices will deter the riff-raff and everybody else for that matter

Taken out for a late Father's Day Lunch by my daughter and son in law. Never visited before so a little apprehensive. Needn't have worried as the staff were very welcoming when we arrived early. When we looked at the menu we assumed it would be a carvery buffet. Daughter arrived and we then found that the licencee was my son in laws best friend. Atmosphere was excellent, everywhere was clean and tidy, and then there was the food. It is a carvery, but with a difference. Order your food and it is then cooked for you, not sitting under lights like a normal carvery. Everything was cooked to perfection with both my wife and I opting for the smaller potions., which at £4.95 were ridiculous value. The dessert was as good as the main. Overall a super meal in very pleasant surroundings. Will certainly be visiting this little gem again.

I called in for the second time ever and once again struck by how clean this place it is the cleanest pub I know. Run by mother and daughter its spotless. Regulars keep coming back for the food which also looked pretty good. The local voting took place in a back room a week or so ago. This place really does deserve to be busier . I will definitely return.

My son took me for my Sunday lunch and it was such a nice meal. I had the Sunday roast. It was delicious. I had the Bread and Butter pudding for dessert. The surroundings are so comfortable and the staff are brilliant and so pleasant. I will be back either with ny son when he visits or on my own as I live local. Well done Staff of Life.

We called in for a look and found a nice clean tidy regulars pub/ club. In the old style of pubs. With a concert room for turns. A roomy place with polite staff geared up for numbers. A big carpark adds to its usefulness as a meeting point.

Nice space to sit and watch the world go by. Extremely helpful staff when I visited with small baby, they carried tray to table without being asked and didn't rush us even though they were closing up. Coffee and cake were excellent and good vfm.
