Nice space to sit and watch the world go by. Extremely helpful staff when I visited with small baby, they carried tray to table without being asked and didn't rush us even though they were closing up. Coffee and cake were excellent and good vfm.

The Bronte biscuits are £1.85p for a twin pack, when I said they could be purchased in Wetherspoons for 30p a pack the assistant said 'Oh well that's Massarellas for you' The latte coffee was nice and hot but that too is a bit on the expensive side so I'm afraid it's back to Wetherspoons from now on.

Muchas otras alternativas Idlewells alrededor.

Often go here for breakfast. Food would be really good if only they didn't serve it up then cook fried eggs and toast. It's a popular place to eat as situated in the Peak Village Shopping centre and has coach parties call on a regular basis. Apart from breakfast I find the price a bit over what I would like to pay. Nice clean restaurant.

Although this is part of a chain, and thus the choice is a bit limited and decided at H.O. level, you will find something that you like. The coffees are always good, and a good selection, teas, buns etc. great for a snack or midday meal. The staff here are all brilliant and make the place, from the manageress, who appears to rule with a rod of iron, but has a heart of gold, they all do. My dearly departed Dad used to eat here every day virtually, and he was always looked after by the staff, they kept their eye on him, and other older people too. The food is consistently good. Worth a little visit anytime.

Called at this great pub by chance ! Had been to McArther Glen and the food choice there is very limited due to the food hall being closed so we headed for the Snipe pub but that was closed for a refurb. We looked on the Internet for any pubs nearby & came across the Travellers Rest. The three of us had the Lamb pie special of the day, Steak & Ale pie & BBQ Chicken melt. This is good quality, home cooked food that you simply don't get in run of the mill big pub chains - the meat in both pies was packed solid, tender and the extra requested gravy was a bonus !! This is a cosy, friendly proper pub just like they used to be and which are so thin on the ground these days ! Will bypass the Snipe in future & head straight for here !

Although the staff are very friendly, If you are not eating what you buy that day (packed cooked meats & spreads). Check the Best before and use by dates.....They won't tell you the item's use by date or the BB date is the same day you are buying.
