Poor quality and value food for the price . Sorry to say this is our local park . Children’s meal £5.50, over priced , two chicken nuggets a few chips and beans. Jacket potato with half a tomato, one slice of cucumber as a salad.

Visited with SEN adults for a trip , rang before hand to confirm if we could bring our own food due to allergies within the group of adults coming, this was confirmed over the phone When we arrived we ate our lunches but was approached by 2 different staff asking what we were doing and that they wouldn’t have confirmed this. We were buying cakes and ice cream that’s within the allergy tolerance for the adults after our lunch anyway but was still told we are taking up valuable space but there was several empty seats and tables around. She also told us that customers were complaining about the seating arrangement too. Was not very welcoming towards the group Unfortunately we will not be visiting again and won’t be recommending this to further companies that are looking for places to bring members of the SEN adult community to

It’s hard to find somewhere this bad in 2024. Where to begin…..They refused to refill my kids water bottles, just tap water. They charged us for pots of tea to take out onto their own outside patio, but would only serve us paper cups, as it was outside! Then, when I asked for a top up of hot water in a paper cups for our teas, they tried to charge me 75p for the hot water! Astonishingly bad customer service across the board. Overheard other customers being asked not to allow their kids to eat biscuits that they hadn’t bought there to leave, when the parents had clearly spent £30/40 on food themselves!!! Bad tempered and grumpy owners should maybe think of a change of career?

I had been on a walk with my dog (she’s a black lab), and had already filled up her portable water bowl twice with the 2 bottles of water I had took with me. I had went in to simply ask them to fill my dog bowl with water, and grab an ice cream afterwards. The manager there (I’m assuming she’s the manager as she was considerably older and helping someone who appeared to be relatively new) interrupted the member of staff I had asked with a very abrupt no. I questioned why and explained it’s simply tap water I’m asking for and it’s not even for me it’s for the dog.. Her response was “I’d been even busier if I had to give every dog here water”. I can understand it was busy and it’s a small inconvenience to your time but for you to say no to a dog that has a black fur coat in nearly 30° heat is just cold hearted. I had to actually go to one of the houses of the people who live in the area and ask them to fill the bowl for me. If you’re going to own an establishment in a large park area I’d recommend getting an accessible tap outside if it’s too much of a hindrance to fill a dog bowl. And perhaps work on your attitude, you’ll always have customers because you’re the only venue in close proximity, however you’ll get a lot more returning customers if you’re just polite.

Like some of the other reviews here, the manager also tried to bully us out of the cafe because our small children (1 and 4) had their own food and snacks, even though we had ordered and paid for three lunches and drinks for the adults. Absolutely bizarre approach and really very rude. A separate issue; but the food service was really quite slow.

Visited the park with my mother and 2 children (4 and 23mths) yesterday and stopped at the cafe for a drink on the way out. We ordered 2 hot chocolates and an ice lolly for my son. I asked for a little cup and straw so I could pour some of MY drink out for my little girl to have a sip as she would not have a whole one being only 23mths. I did use some of the 'free' cold milk to cool it as it was hotter than the sun and would have burned her mouth. After around 10 mins the owner (I assume it was the owner) came over and basically told me I 'technically' had 3 drinks and only bought two as my daughter was drinking some of mine and I should have paid for 3!!! I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing, to be honest and was very taken aback that because I used a small amount of free milk and an extra cup, I was robbing the cafe of a drink when I had already spent over £8 on 2 drinks and a lolly! He proceeded to tell me they serve children's hot chocolate and that in future I should order a separate drink. Well in future I will not be returning due to this most ridiculous situation!! I have ordered food at a restaurant and shared this with my children before BUT have never ever been told I should be paying the price for a full extra meal. I was more upset at being made to feel very small and that I had done something wrong..... Wouldn't recommend this cafe at all, which is a shame as its the only one at the park.

Visited many times but won’t ever again. Sat outside and went into order a mix of hot food and three hot drinks, speaking to the owner about the food available. On the way out, as it was a cooler day and to try keep the warmth in, and as a group of four ladies were sat by the door, I tried to pull the door closed. Unfortunately, my hot chocolate slipped and spilt just outside the door. Being courteous, I let the young girl serving know and offered to clean it if they could provide me with some water. The owner came out and poured one jug of water, leaving the milky mess outside the door for any new/current customers to walk in. When they delivered the food I asked if the hot chocolate could be replaced and was stunned to receive such a rude response. Quote: “You can if you pay for it, it’s not my fault you spilt is is it.” Totally understand, even though I was trying to help keep the place warm/customers comfortable, if the cafe policy is not to replace but just say, ‘really sorry you spilt your drink but our policy is not to replace’ rather than be so rude with such poor communication skills. Awful, awful awful customer service.

We arrived to eat at the cafe at before 4pm on Sunday to wait in the queue for ages, to be told the kitchen closed at 4pm. I reminded them at the time of ordering that it was now 4pm the manager said the chef was "refusing to serve anyone else because he's turned off the machines at 4pm and they'll take ages to heat up again." Having worked in events and catering for over 10 years, I know if you turn off a fryer or grill and less than a minute later need to turn it on again, it doesn't lose any heat. I told the manager this and she said "I know that and id serve you but the chef is refusing!" He then came stomping out the kitchen to abruptly tell me he couldn't make anything else. When I reminded him it was still 4pm, he rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed to make the rest of the chips (4 portions) for my kids. He refused to make anything else though, including cold sandwiches or a jacket potato that would go in the microwave. My kids were very hungry. He didn't care. The whole experience was rather dissapointing. The lady next to me had the same dissapointing experience and said she'd been here before but would not return, that "the staff were rude and had absolutely no manners." I have to say, I agree. The other lady left shocked and was told to sit outside with her kids as they were now closing, despite all signs saying they were open until 5.30pm. Won't be returning, I don't think the other family will either. We shared our chips with the other family as they also had hungry kids. These are the chips.

I visited today with my group including my 1 year old daughter. After having a stroll around the grounds we decided to stop for some coffee and cake at this place. My 1 year old has an intolerance to certain ingrediants so we often carry snacks with us. As i began to feed my 1 year old the manager Mark rushed to our table to advise us we could not be in the tearoom as my daughter had not purchased anything. When i explained she is 1 years old and the rest of the party are purchasing his response back was 'yes but she is not eating here and i also offer snacks'. When i explained about her intolerance to certain ingredients he disregarded this and said 'you will need to leave as she cannot eat here as you did not purchase those snacks from us'. Mark was exceptionally rude! Makes me wonder how this place is still continuing as reading other reviews this has re occuringly happened to others. Don't bother visiting!

I witnessed a customer being very disrespectful to the staff due to wanting his coffee with his meal (which he had not asked for), he became very loud and aggressive. I personally sought out the member of staff that dealt with this called Jordan. I have seen some really unkind reviews for this cafe. This cafe is open all year round, that is so rare for park cafe's and I think the owners are amazing and have a great community spirit. It is not a big brand and to go in with those kind expectations is unfair and unkind. The cafe does fabulous cafe food at great prices. Their selection of cakes and ice creams is great too. Yes on a Summer's day they can be mobbed, but tell me one beach side or park cafe that isn't? This is the type of business that in my opinion we should all support and praise as it is the kind that are fading fast and we will all be terribly sorry if we lose.

Ordered a jacket potato which on the menu was advertised as being ‘oven baked’. Clearly done beforehand though and heated up in the microwave which made it slimy and tasteless. It had 6-7 black chunks of rotten pieces in it and the side salad consisted of half a slice of cucumber, two slithers of lettuce and half a tomato. Ordered two kids lunch boxes which consisted of a sandwich, drink, gone off piece of fruit and a packet of biscuits; the kind you’d find on a budget hotel tea tray! For a kids lunch box I’d expect something tailored to kids (such as animal biscuits or mini Jaffa cakes) but we got a 3 pack of plain digestives and a pack of garibaldis. All for the bargain price of £4.75!! Poor quality and massively over priced for what you get. Long queues even on quieter days as the service is slow. Good selection of cakes though and they do amazing gelato which is brought in from Swirls in Leamington, which is definitely worth a visit!

The location is prime for the park but it's also the only supplier and has a monopoly. Any monopoly never ends well. The cafe needs modernising in decor and attitude. This standard might have been acceptable in the 70's but come on make an effort. I wish the owner would get with the times. Where's the broadband and leather sofas. Copy any of the major cafe chains or style it uniquely but do something. Hit and miss on the food and drink and service level. I just wish it could be consistently good. If the owner isn't interested then sell out to Costa or similar. I can feel a petition coming on.

Unfortunately had to go into the tea room despite a previous bad experience as they had closed the ice cream booth next door and we had promised the kids. Waited in the queue by the counter and proceeded to watch everybody be served but us. Then moved to the actual ice cream counter as they started serving people there and waited. Got to our turn and yet again started serving other people at which point I pointed out that everyone that had been served actually arrived after us (bad manners on the other customers part too, not mentioning this), to which the server replied “well you’re in the wrong queue”. I pointed out that there was no clear plan for who they were serving and no signs to tell us what to do. She then proceeded to begrudgingly serve us, slapping the kids ice cream in a cone and giving them pretty crappy ice creams, which is such a shame as it was a treat for them. I can’t say the customer service was a massive surprise but how do they repeatedly get it so wrong? They definitely have a “customer is always wrong” ethos in this place. Someone said it’s run by the same people who have Swirls in Leamington but the two places are like chalk and cheese. Only gave one star as you can’t not give any- this place is a minus!

Upon leaving, I asked the lady who served me if she could fill 2 bottles with water but she said she couldn’t do that?!

Very understaff to cope with the amount of tourists and locals. I guess during summer they may increase staff levels, and on unexpected Easter weekends, when the weather was supposed to be cloudy, they just have two staff. Definitely worth the wait for tea and cake. £3.95 for both, not too bad, got 4 cups from the pot

Great menu options and variance. Great selections of traditional ice cream of which we enjoyed. We collected our mini golf clubs from here. The staff were friend and kept the place clean and tidy even when busy. It stayed open after specified times due to a busy bank holiday afternoon. Easy access to rest of park and car park.

I do so enjoy reading the reviews that are 'terrible' or 'poor'. Some are quite funny! We've been here several times, and each time the experience is more or less the same. The cakes are really good. The ice-creams are excellent. The other food is quite nice including a decent coffee. The service is fine if a little slow. They have plenty of staff behind the counter but they're not awfully well organised and tend to get in each others way a lot, and so the queue can be rather slow. It's not overpriced (not cheap either), but I do object to a service charge for a credit card. Yes it costs a small percentage for a business to use a credit card, but it also costs a small percentage to put cash in the bank! (Not widely known for those who don't run a business!)

Have bought overpriced ice cream and drinks from here on previous visits. However usually sit outside as we generally visit on sunny days. Today, whilst my friend and her children queued to buy food and drinks, I sat at a table with my 2 year old and 5 month old baby. I was going to feed the baby and pacified my toddler with some crackers. I nipped to my pushchair and when I returned a waitress was telling my daughter that she couldn't eat her picnic inside. She was confused and embarrassed and when I returned the waitress said we needed to leave as picnics couldn't be consumed inside the cafe. I understand this, but didn't feel some crackers counted as a picnic when we were spending in excess of £20. I explained she was 2, but was told "there is a picnic bench over there love."I sat and breastfed outside in the cold, whilst eating and drinking what was paid for in the cafe. Absolutely disgusting.

I took my grandson here whilst my partner went on a shopping expedition in nearby Coventry. The park facilities are marvellous for young children. Usual play equipment but also a mini funfair where rides could be bought using tokens or pass. The cafe was great and gave a choice of food and drinks. Brilliant also that it is open most of the year. None of this, only in the summer malarky.

Just a disappointing visit. Ordered two breakfasts only one came and the young girl just responded that she wasn't with it? Didn't rush to order another and we said we'd share the one we had! This was a good decision as the baguette was greasy. This is a gem of a place in the location it's in and we were the only couple in there. This was supposed to have been a morning treat and whilst I don't want to be overly harsh the service was not great.

Myself and partner called in the team rooms for a coffee and a slice of cake. Everything started off quite well, my partner chose a slice of coffee cake and tea whilst I had a coffee. When we sat down my other half was horrified to find a bug squashed into the icing. When she took this back she was confronted by appalling customer service who even tried to claim in was a piece of chocolate! Her colleague came over and confirmed it was in fact an insect! The woman behind the till was rude and reluctantly gave our money back without any apology. The woman behind the counter then said she "wasn't happy now" as if it was our fault. This wouldn't have been so bad if it was received with good customer service but it was terrible. Will never go back and check your food before eating it!

What a treat after a day at the Castle. Walked down to the park and stopped for a quick coffee. But who could refuse the amazing cakes on offer. Also sells a variety of icecream flavours. Friendly dogs are welcome. You can sit inside, in the conservatory or outside if the weather allows.

I have visited this cafe/tea room several times this year and each time I've been, I threaten never to return. However, it was such a lovely day on Sunday that we decided to go for some tea whilst walking in the beautiful park. As usual, the queue was really long and when we did eventually get served the staff member seemed really disinterested and not friendly at all. My grandson spotted the carrot cake which is his favourite so I relented and ordered a slice along with our drinks.I was presented with a tiny piece of cake cut at an odd angle. When I queried the size and shape of the slice I was told "well that's the way it was cut!" I requested a bigger proper slice and was told there weren't any even though I could clearly see others in the display cabinet. As I didn't want to disappoint my grandson, I took it, paying the full price. When I got to the table outside, the rest of the family were appalled and suggested I take it back and get refunded. I did this and the staff member begrudgingly refunded me. St Nicholas park is such a lovely park in beautiful surroundings and it's a pity the tea room is such an expensive shambles. In future, we will enjoy the park but definitely choose another establishment for food and drinks.

Visited here today.....first impressions, badly organised chaos in the serving area, once you eventually get served if that's what you call it, you are met with nothing but hostility from the staff. Today's member of staff was a female, short brown hair and spectacles, not very tall but she made up for this with her massive attitude. No please or tbankyou,,,,very obnoxious demeanour when taking my order, slammed my change into my hand and slammed the table number on the counter too.......this is not the service that anyone expects from any member of staff in a people service industry and quite frankly this unfortunate individual shouldn't be let loose in such an environment, I hope her parents read this and pat themselves on the back for dragging up such a rude person.......we will keep coming back to the park but as for the tea rooms, forget it I would rather walk into the town centre and pay extra to get the service we expect !!!!!!!

I stopped here for a coffee and was not disappointed. The coffee was quite good and the location was really great. The tearooms themselves reminded me of the ones that my parents used to take me to in the 1950's and this place deserves to be suppoorted - there are few such establishments such as this which still survive.

I took my granddaughter to Warwick park for a treat I said we would have lunch there. What a costly mistake that was.I ordered chicken nuggets chips and baked beans of the children's menu £4-25 it arrived minus the beans, on the plate were 3 minute chicken nuggets and a total of 10 chips should have been called French fries its how big they were. I had to go back to the counter to ask for the beans, the girl showed no interest so I had to find another assistant who apologised and came out with a teacup of beans. For myself I ordered for £2 a portion of chips which arrived in a SMALL bowl. This is absolutely day light robbery. As a Warwick resident I feel this tearoom is giving the park a bad reputation .i overheard a visitor say have you seen these prices and portions there are 6 of us no way are we staying so how many more are doing the same. It is a beautiful well kept park with lots of amenities but the cafe is the bad apple.Warwick Council SORT IT.

Bought three ice creams, one was not great and I asked if I could exchange. Was very surprised at the curt reply and manner that showed a real disinterest in what I had to say. Needless to say she refused a change. Shame because the young adults working in the tea too where nice. They could clearly teach the manageress a thing or two about customer relations. Disappointed as I've used the tea room quite a few times.

Went there on a busy Sunday afternoon, Had baguettes and a tea, Tea was lovely, hot and strong. The food was good value and came quickly. We were able to sit outside and listen to the brass band. It was very relaxing. The only slight niggle was that both the baguettes could have done with better quality ingredients to make them a bit more tasty.

A lovely June morning in Airwick and a walk through St. Nicholas Par. We noticed the café and thought we would stop for refreshment. The busy café was being run by two very friendly ladies who served me quickly with my pot of tea for two. The cost only £3.80. The large pot produced 6 cups which works out at just over 63p a cup - an absolute bargain.

My friends, I, and our children visited the park on Tuesday and decided to go into the cafe as our children were getting hungry and irritable. As we have been here before on weekends, we were expecting an easy lunchtime which would finish off a lovely visit, unfortunately this was not the case. We entered the cafe to see that there was a queue much larger than we expected to find on a Tuesday. After waiting for around 10 minutes to get to the counter, we realised that there was only one woman who was working. She was very apologetic about the wait and absolutely lovely but I couldn't believe that she was running this place alone! My son began to get very upset as he was terribly hungry, however I couldn't help but feel for the woman who was having to serve and cook on her own. All in all, we love this cafe, however our experience would have been made so much better if there was maybe one or two more people working during the week, to reduce the pressure on this one employee if nothing else!

I discovered this cafe when out walking with a group of friends and we regularly pop in after a lap or two of the park. We've always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - and considerate as I have a young baby. In the summer they even offered to bring me water whilst I was breastfeeding. However today I was disappointed by their inflexibility - visiting with my husband and seven month old son I asked if I could order a slice of toast and a single scrambled egg - which they said they couldn't do- despite them having fried egg and toast both on the menu. The girl that served us was very short with us and this made me and my family feel unwelcome here.
