I like it here for a drink , it does get busy and can be standing room only .

Been there a few times with friends from work, lovely place to meet, nice atmosphere. Great food, and great quiz on Tuesday nights

I play magic here every Tuesday and always a good time.

Good food and pleasant trendy pub. We were particularly satisfied with the service. The staff were attentive and kind, and helped to prepare and bring the birthday cake we organised for the occasion.

Brought the mains out before the starters, so we sent them back, then brought out the starters. After we were finished with the starters, we sat for about 30 minutes waiting for it to be cleared, before we heard our mains being served to the table next to us. They rejected them and then they were given to us, but they had kept the chilli flakes on the kids pizzas, which we asked for them to be off. Then they took them back and recooked everything, so we waited another 20 minutes. They then brought the correct food out but forgot our sides and said they needed to cook them so it would be another 10 minutes. The waiter said that some of the confusion was because our mains and starters had been put through as 2 different orders and that one of the staff was sending all the food to the wrong tables. When we were leaving, one of the waiters came through with someone else’s burgers and dropped them on the floor. Wouldn’t say it was super cheap and they weren’t understaffed so quite shocking.

Lovely pub! Great Selection on beers! Although saying that you better be prepared with your wallet! Over 7 pounds for a pint is alittle steep. If you search though Leamington Spa you can find pubs of an equal standard with pints almost half the price.

Great service and staff. Pies were good , just don't order the jacket potato.. awful portion and quality. Would have taken it back had I not been with a group of people . Menus also need changing as dirty so gave the impression the place was more of a boozy place as opposed to nice quality food.

Great selection of lunchtime food and real ale. 5 cask real ales on to try. I found a great session IPA (Church Farm Brewery) loads of flavour not too strong!! This went so well with my lunchtime ham, egg and chips. They do loads of other delicious food and drink too. The nachos and chicken skewers looked particularly good and if I was more local I'd be straight back to give them a try. Thanks for a lovely visit.

Ordered a blue moon. Traditionally served with an orange slice. Didn't even need to ask, staff asked me first. Never happens lol

Best pub I've been to. The bar staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was the right amount of lively. The pizza was delivered promptly and tasted great. Will visit again!

I hired the upstairs room for a 60th birthday party. The staff were extremely helpful in the build-up to the party and their attention to detail ensured everyone had a great time. The food was delicious - I have to take my guests’ word for it as they ate everything before I had a chance to feed myself! If you’re looking for a space which is intimate, yet large enough to comfortably hold 50 people, look no further.

Went out for some mid-week dinner with friends and ordered myself a pizza, which looked and tasted like a £3 oven pizza from a supermarket. It wasn’t a great meal out unfortunately and definitely was not worth £10. Apart from that, the pub is nice for drinks and is a good place to socialise. I would just not recommend eating here. If you want a nice pizza that’s worth £10 go to Birtelli’s or Red Hot Mamma!

Good place to go for decent food and lovely people serving. The pug was rather crowed due to the European being televised. But it didn't stop the good service and food.

Great atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. The seating was comfortable and not cramped. Food was a little pricey for what you get. My pizza apparently had pulled chicken on it, but you'd need to hunt around to find any. The gents restrooms weren't great (standard for a pub, but I expected more given the look and decor of the front-of-house). Overall, not bad, but I wouldn't be hurrying back.

The food was very tasty and had a nice variety of options. Had a very lively atmosphere and overlaps a bit too noisy so close to to where we were eating but then it was a Saturday

First visit to Leamington, no idea what’s good and not so good. This was our second stop of the evening. Really busy bar with a range of ages in the clientele. Even so, served quickly and with a friendly smile. Decided to stay for some food. The poke bowl with teriyaki chicken was plentiful and tasty. Same for the chicken skewers. The batter on the fish and chips was slightly less crispy than I would have liked but tasty and fresh. Would definitely return.

On my way back to Canada from Durham and stopped in at Leamington Spa. Called in at the Royal Pug around 6.0 pm with my wife for a drink. Walked to the bar to be treated by 3 bar staff who turned their backs on us ???. Finally got served and had 2 pints of the worst Moretti beer I’ve ever had. Went to the washroom and was followed by one of the bar staff . After finishing I’m washing my hands but the bar staff didn’t bother and went straight back to the bar serving bad beer. Real class you bunch of losers

Been here three times with mates (and that's more than enough for me!) Not one of my favourite places. Great place to stand waiting to be served & get TOTALLY ignored (particularly by 2x of the girls working behind the bar.) Guinness is pretty awful too. Far better places in Leamington for a nice pint.

I had a fantastic time at The Royal Pug! They have a wide variety of ales to choose from, so I was spoilt for choice. The atmosphere was also great, it had a real traditional pub feel, but with a friendly and welcoming vibe. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in Leamington Spa.

This my friends is good ol' pub for service atmosphere you want the big square table preferably close to bar and the outlook, never eaten but oftened drooled at what went past, enjoy.

Took well over an hour for food to come with no warning that there was going to be a long wait time we had to chase it up multiple times. When the food finally arrived 2 meals were missing so had to wait another 20minutes and chase those up. Most of the food was good. The chicken club sandwich (still can't believe it took around and hour and a half to make a sandwich) was incredibly dry and had no seasoning so fed most of the chicken to the dog and just ate the chips. Really disappointing meal out for my birthday and feel really embarrassed for suggesting this place to my family. Got the money back for the club sandwich but still gutted I chose here for my birthday.

Brandon and all the staff were very helpful, friendly and flexible when we hired the private function room for our daughter's 21st birthday. A fantastic venue, with fully stocked bar and private toilets within the same space. A speaker was available to connect your device to play your own tunes. The food was excellent and it was brilliant to have a dedicated bar person all night. It was made financially stress free by having a minimum spend rather than a room hire charge. A great time was had by all. We would highly recommend The Royal Pug! Thank you again to Brandon and the whole team.

Favourite pub in Leamington Spa. Lots of beer options and nice appetizers. Fish and chips are ok, burger days can be missed.

Miserable staff who served us, male toilets were absolutely disgusting, pub itself was the same as the other pug pub chain. Outdated and boring theme throughout. No parking at the venue.

We've had the veggie breakfast here many times, which is excellent. Popped in for a veggie Sunday roast in leamington this time. Good portion, the food was hot and the gravy was delicious. The nut roast slice was OK but heavy on the rice, everything else on the plate was really good. The cauliflower cheese side lacked flavour. Overall a decent roast but not the best we've ever had.

If you get chance to come here the food is amazing and really friendly staff with a great atmosphere. We were here for 4 days on a course and ate here every night. Well deserved 5 🌟

What a lovely pub, probably the best one in Leamington. Our dog likes it, she doesn't drink alcohol (which is good) but the staff always bring her a bowl of water. Food is always great and the atmosphere is always very friendly and welcoming. 10/10 would recommend if wanting a drinky and food when in the spa of Leamington

Went to the pub last evening for a leaving drinks. We had the dinner as well. Very good atmosphere and nice music. Brendon was very helpful arranging our big table in no time. Highly recommend this place!

Grand pub for food + kids daytime/early evening

Food was average, even little dissopointing. Was guite crowdy, but we were served quickly and bar tender was supper friendly.

Found this little gem searching for a dog friendly pub for lunch when visiting Leamington Spa. We arrived just before noon, very cold and hungry, staff were super welcoming and friendly, we had excellent 2 for 1 pizzas on their Monday offer which were fresh and tasty. Staff made a big fuss of our puppy and made us feel so welcome, would def return.

Went for a Birthday party upstairs, food was really good, staff friendly and helpful. Nice size room for the amount of people.

A gastropub but with pretty standard food. Atmosphere is. Ice though but it does get very crowded .

Booked the private dining room for our company Christmas dinner on December 15th. The food was great and served well and efficiently. One of our party was both gluten and dairy intolerant and the chef was able to provide her with a three course meal which she said was delicious. The veggie and vegan options were also fantastic. Thank you Brandon and your team for all the hard work and making us feel so welcome.

We held our annual company meeting and Christmas lunch at The Royal Pug on 1st December. The team were great from start to finish, thank you in particular to Jack, Brandon and the lunch chef! Fantastic Christmas lunch with friends. The food was lovely and the service was excellent ! A particular mention to Jaz who looked after us and went above and beyond to make it a fantastic start to our Christmas festivities!

This was a lovely pub for drinking, with a flashy counter that feels welcoming! The gastropub layout incorporates classic brick walls and a cosy outdoor garden with greenery, Christmas decorations are included too in winter. I enjoyed a pint of Carling at the sheltered, comfy out door seating and was served by relaxed staff!

We held our work Christmas party with 60 people in the upstairs room, the staff were great, the food was lush and the space was perfect for us all. Massive shout out to Dave and Brandon for making sure we all had a great time!

Fantastic from beginning to end. The process of making the reservation for our Christmas party was great. Everyone I dealt with very the night (Brandon, Dave, Cameron and Michael) was helpful, pleasant and very efficient. It was a busy night and there were a few things that we needed to deal with (a meal arriving late and someone not getting their dessert) but to be honest this does not bring down the rating for me, the way the guys at The Pug dealt with it all was outstanding!! the food was excellent, the drinks were delicious and quick to come out and everyone serving us had a smile on their face. Thank you for making our night a very enjoyable one. I'll definitely be booking more events here!

Really nice spot. Had the Sunday Roast with beef, good meal, and portion size. Service was very timely and servers were very nice.

A real pub with real people. Well worth a visit. Once you're there you'll stay longer than intended. And that's a good thing in this mad, hectic world.

If you are looking for a great night out in a chilled and relaxed but modern environment then this is your place. I met with colleagues here for dinner and drinks and everything was great, particularly the service. Jack, the assistant manager, went the extra mile in helping me out when I put my receipts through the wash and he trawled through the receipts to find my ones for me... a massive help to me but a task for him! I am so grateful for his help and if I have any client meetings in the area, I will be sure come back.

A favourite of ours in Leamington spa. Always busy, cozy and fun. 27/10/22. 11 months after initial review, we have been here many times but now. We have had a few meals already and it's always consistently good. Went for burgers last night and as always the burger is not cooked to death, but rather to perfection, juicy and tender. Atmosphere as always was vibey and fun. Love this place! 23/11/23 Still love coming here but has become a little pricey. Still vibey, cosy and fun. They busy so I don't think the owner minds being more pricey, it obviously isn't chasing customers away.

Came here for a Sunday roast. We got seated quickly even though it was busy. Great food. Quick and polite service.

Our charity social meeting in the private room was a great success. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We really appreciate being able to use the room for our gathering. The Friendship Project for Children

Great afternoon, good for and chilled atmosphere

Excellent family Sunday lunch. Roast beef was delicious with all the trimmings. Friendly service. Perfect cauliflower cheese on the side. Fish and chips was also popular. Nice varied menu.

Didn't eat, just drank Guinness

Despite putting on the booking form that we wanted a roast dinner , when we arrived for our evening booking there was none left. In addition there were other things in the menu that were unavailable. What is the point of having a comments box if you pay no attention to it. Not exactly cheap either.

Went to a Tuesday pub quiz which was well attended and had a great atmosphere. Drinks were great and a reasonable price.

Great pub. Decent beer selection and white wine was good. The food going past looked great. They have deals on food Monday to Wednesday. Unfortunately we were there on a Thursday! I'd go there again.

Went to see a comedy show upstairs. The atmosphere was good, as was the service. Nice pub, well decorated. Although please get rid of the bar stools around tables. As a short person, they fill me with dread :D

A group of us were looking for a nice place in the Leamington area with a private room so that we could get together for a few drinks and a small political discussion... The Royal Pug was a really warm and friendly place and we would not hesitate to go back - though its worth mentioning the room was accidentally double booked so we had to go in the Conservatory area instead. We were lucky in that there was only a few of us this time so it did not matter too much though it was a little noisy in the evening which made listening to some of the older members a bit harder. Overall though we enjoyed our time here and would recommend for drinks for others!

Great night in the upstairs room, service was friendly and quick. Does get very busy as we also tried to get in lunchtime and all the tables were taken.

One of the best pubs in Lem. Not just for pugs. People can enjoy too.

Nice place, friendly staff but Sunday roast was mediocre. Roast pork a bit dry, over-cooked, potatoes and parsnips chewy and felt as if they'd been sat around a while. Carrots and broccoli plain boiled and while not overcooked were pretty uninspiring. Friend had scampi and chips which she enjoyed, looked pretty good. Didn't try the desserts. Wouldn't bother again.

Visited the Pug several times during our three week stay in L Spa. Dave’s warm welcome on our first visit was much appreciated - and a big reason for us coming back. Brought several sets of friends there - they all liked it. Will be returning next year.

We hired the private function room upstairs for our gender reveal. The staff were amazing right from the online booking with quick responses and allowing us to come in early to set up decorations. The service on the day was excellent with a member of staff on the upstairs bar. Food was delicious and all came out on time (for 35 people). The manager went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and even ordered in a fresh bottle of alcohol free gin for me as I couldn’t drink alcohol! Friends and family thoroughly enjoyed the day and all said what a great venue.

Haven’t been here for a while, still a great pub and good service, young and old in here! Even when very busy the bar staff serve you, great atmosphere.

A friendly but busy place and we'll run

We popped in as we were staying nearby and were pleased to see such a great range of beers. We sat outside and had a few snacks from the menu and a couple of drinks. Excellent service and great beer. The food certainly exceeded our expectations and we would definitely return!

I'm a big fan of the Pug chain.....sort of like a more up market, less fighty Spoons 😉. They are decent, well run boozers, with good beer, reasonably priced food and decent spaces. The RP is no exception. Because it's in central Leam it is a bit more #outout and shows sports, but it's still a great pub none the less. Particuarly enjoyed the Oxfordshire ales that they had on guest when I last visited. Nice garden 🪴 also which is a bit of a sun trap Ona summers days.

I organised a night out for 11 of us its always nerve-wracking that you cant please everyone but Dave and his Team did, excellent service, great food and the usual friendly atmosphere with a live singer as well couldn't ask for more. Thank you
