I ordered a 70th birthday ‘golf’ cake for my husband’s 70th birthday. He was absolutely thrilled with it and it tasted delicious. Got lots of positive comments. Thank you Alison.

My mother in law 90th birthday cake ordered from a lovely baker called Alison. So polite and listened to my requirements. And did us proud. Would thoroughly recommend great value for money.

Nice to go have the option to go somewhere other than a Greggs or a Costa etc and for it to be lovely. I had a cheese and bacon savoury which was the best I've had from anywhere. Others had buns and they were just as nice. Lovely

Went to order a cake for my daughter's wedding, the care and attention to detail was outstanding. Alison listened to what was wanted made notes and sketches and then suggested improvements. The cake was delivered as promised and set up ready for the wedding in plenty of time. It looked amazing and tasted like heaven. I can't recommend the product and service highly enough. Many thanks for making my daughter's day extra special.

Just payed a visit to this bakery and had some tasty Lemon Cream Tarts. Good service from the counter staff and unlike most of the 'chain bakeries' in the area, very good prices on a good range of products.

Excellent food, helpful lady behind the counter, BUT please check with them that they're open before you go. Their opening hours are not displayed on the door and the ones shown on the website aren't accurate (eg Saturday they close between 2.30pm and 3pm.

Thank you for providing us with The most wonderful wedding cake. We had our ideas on how we wanted the cake to look and St Mary’s Bakery we’re excellent in delivering our vision. Very talented baker. Our wedding guests loved it. The cake was so fresh and tasted amazing. We have been using St Mary’s Bakery for many years for our birth cakes. So didn’t have to think twice for our choice of wedding Cake. You can’t beat a traditional cake. Thank you so much.

We always use this bakery for our Bread & Cakes whilst we are staying at our Caravan in Torbay. Always a warm friendly greeting from the staff. Huge variety of really tasty cakes, some traditional, like the massive "Eccles Cakes" and others quite unique like the seasonally changing decoration of "Cup Cakes" & "Chocolate Flake Cakes". The shortbread Jam biscuits are to die for, so tasty, so moreish.Mustn't forget the take home order that we get the day we leave so we can have a little of St Mary's for at least a few days once we are home. Can't wait to return.

Lovely homemade cakes and pastries and good prices. The Eccles cake is huge and easily satisfies 2 people. It was very fresh and tasty. Buy some to take home. Plenty of seats as there is an upstairs section. Good attention to health and safety. Highly recommended.

Went here for a meat and potato pasty which was bland and awful, never had such a bad tasting pasty before, threw it away, don't go here for good pasties.

Had lunch with family here. Ladies running the place were v friendly and pleasant! Excellent service and tasty food! Loved the hot pasty and sausage roll. Good coffee and my son enjoyed his milk Shake

Bakery with a cafe upstairs, food cooked to order and it wasn’t bad at all. Lovely staff. Reasonable prices. Breakfast ingredients not the best quality but for the price good enough. Well presented in a nice cafe room with a view for people watching.

Several tables downstairs and upstairs also. Varied foodstuffs are cooked to order and so are very fresh. Everything is good value for money and a good buy.

My wife and I went here last week and purchased a pack of 4 hot cross buns ( alleged hot cross buns) for £1.60. What an absolute rip off we got 4 pure white bread buns with hardly any fruit, absolutely no spices and when we opened the bag they put them in the best before date was the day we purchased them. If you go to any supermarket you can buy 4-6 hot cross buns with 3 times as much fruit some spice and 3 or 4 days to eat them. i Would highly recommend you avoid this place What a rip-off.

Always get a warm welcome here as the staff are very friendly. you order your food and drinks at the counter and then it is brought to your table.The food is always fresh and hot , with a good choice on the menu and good value for money.

Often pop in there to buy a sausage roll, bread and cakes and the service is a very friendly one, albeit the parking can be a bit tricky at times.

Popped in here for an afternoon cuppa and teacake, and all was good. Teacake was a good size but could have done with some more jam. Nice to get a top up jug of hot water for teapot. It is what it is, but it was busy. The surroundings downstairs are a bit basic, and better to go earlier in the day, as upstairs is nicer.

Disappointed cream tea gloopy, clotted cream had skin over it and one tiny pot of tea came with it for two people

Mary's Street Bakery tiene una gran variedad de empanadas y tartas a precios razonables. Mi única preocupación era el miembro del personal que después de toser en su mano y luego procedió a servir a sus clientes sin lavarse las manos. No estoy seguro de que la buena comida es mejorada por la adición de gérmenes. No me puedo quejar de la comida, pero la higiene es pésima.

Called in here for cup of tea 27/06/17. Had warm sausage roll which was beautifully served with side salad. Lovely and clean premises, extremely friendly and obliging staff. A "must visit" if in Paignton.

Returned to this lovely bakery and enjoyed a lunch, us 4 oldies had a different lunch which was served quickly.The premises is compact but has upstairs overlooking the shopping area.Good variety of lunch and especially cakes.Very reasonable will return again when next there.The staff were very pleasant and helpful but they would nt say which one was St. Mary !!!!!!!!

Excellent place for a reasonably price lunch. I had the carrot and coriander soup with a brown roll - very tasty! Would have liked to have tasted a bit more coriander, but overall the soup was filling and tasty. Soulmate had a bacon and egg bap. He liked the filling but said the seeds in the granary bap tasted slightly bitter. They offer a good range of herbal and fruits teas - we had peppermint which was very refreshing.

Nice food and pleasant service. Jacket potato and pasty both enjoyable. Slight wait for food. RECOMMENDED.

Went into this shop to buy a pasty for my lunch, I saw a steak and doombar and asked what is was, the girl told me it was steak and ale, so I thought okay I will try that. WOW I bit into it and discovered a delicious pasty, very Moorish. The bread and cakes also looked yummy but I didn't try

We had a cake made specially for our granddaughter here whilst on holiday and i must say the sponge was very light and icing marvellous. We picked it up on the Sunday morning and travelled back the 230 miles back home with cake intact. Our Granddaughter loved the cake and was all eaten within a couple of days by all. Cakes normally don't get eaten this quick in our household.

Whether a sandwich. Loaf of bread. Pasties. Pies and so on. I doubt you will find better. Excellent service and realistic prices.

It started to rain so we dived in and had a Latte and a Belgian bun.The coffee was perfect and the bun was the best and largest I have ever tasted.The staff were very friendly and helped me connect to the free Wi-Fi.

Flying visit, but good clean bakery with a nicely presented range of products. sausage rolls are yum! Keep up the good work.

We had an individually designed and decorated cake for my husband's 60th birthday. Take a look at their website to see their amazing work. It was ready on time and at a great price for the amount of work involved. The sponge was yummy too!

It's good to see small bakeries survive and hopefully thrive. The bread is good and so are the savoury pasties and sausage rolls as well as the sweet cakes and pastries! Long may it continue!!

A decent selection in this small bakery, but the food quality is only marginally better than more mainstream bakers. The staff are friendly enough though prices are a little on the high side. Overall fine but nothing special. The sausage rolls and scones are both OK.
