all positive here! there are copious choices on the menu which is always great to see. the food is also tasty and quite clearly made freshly. i'm in love with the interior as it is very spacious & there are plenty of tables and chairs. the staff are super polite and friendly so we are really grateful for that☺️

Eggs benedict was gross with the poached eggs tasting nothing but vinegar. Hard eggs as well and didn’t even come with the ham it was meant to. Another member of my group ordered the cooked breakfast which vegan sausages, no bacon, one hashbrown where it implies plural on the menu. Normally we have a good experience but today was awful. Waiters were understanding and seemed as confused as we were, seems down to the chef. Really hope they sort this out as a lovely place for holiday.

Myself & my Son spent 5 days at the resort from 10th-15th October 2022. We called into the Sands Bistro on 2 mornings and had a full English Breakfast. 1st of all, I would like to say how welcome me and my Son were made to feel upon entering. Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Prices were affordable. We will be returning to this site 2 more times in 2023 and we will be visiting the Sands Bistro for our breakfast when we are there. Outstanding all around 10/10+

The first thing you notice on arriving in the bay bistro is the foul smell of greasy food, fat fryers... You get my drift.... It's not pleasant. It totally puts you off eating. There needs to be healthier options on the menu... Not everyone wants to eat fried food every day even on holiday. Very hot inside too with little ventilation. I think the kitchen area needs to be more closed off from the eating and serving area

You do not have to be staying at the holiday park to try the food here. You can access from the beach or coastal footpath. Sadly closed now until March 18 . We live locally and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast on a Sunday morning, it is always excellent. The lunches are delicious, as are the evening meals and daily specials . The best item on the menu for me is the absolutely delicious home made cheesecake by Andy the owner and head chef. It is superb . Best cheesecake I have ever had . A regular eating place for people staying at the holiday park. It serves nice food - breakfast lunch and dinner and is open all day, but after a couple of weeks the menu becomes quite repetitive - everything with chips, no vegetable options even for children, just baked beans and chips (except for the pasta). Having said that, there are salad options and the special dish of the day sometimes has vegetables. The food itself is tasty, and there are some options for beers cider and wine before the bar opens as well as standard selection of canned soft drinks and bottled squash for kids. Winning point is the view though, stunning views across the sea with St Ives one way and Godrevy Lighthouse the other way.

we stayed at St Ives Bay Park for a week in May and the bistro was only open till 1 pm. It was quite a large conservatory area. We only had drinks on our two visits, as the menu says they use GM oil to cook with and that put us off quite considerably. The food coming out didn't look to great so were glad we'd not eaten there. We tried to play pool and the table swallowed the cueball and wouldn't give it us back. I asked someone behind the shutters (the bistro was closed by this point) to help us and initially he offered us our money back but then decided to just give us a spare cueball and said to play until it went down. We didn't get our money back. He had the most appalling BO, it was incredibly uncomfortable being near him - and as he clearly worked in the kitchen, another reason we were glad to not have eaten there.

Every single item was overcooked. Most items were deep fried to within an inch of its life and the toast was so dark that my three year old thought it had marmite on. I had gammon and chips twice, bad move. To add insult to injury it was also very expensive. Service was quick but it would be even faster if the food wasn't cooked for as long! plus points, the view is wonderful, the convenience for campers while staying at St Ives bay, tea for two is £2. The minus points, chips were dry and over cooked, pizza not freshly home baked more frozen with extra cheese to hide the evidence. Kids meals seem to focus on being as unhealthy as possible. When you question anything to the staff, they either laugh and agree that the food could be better or they request a charge for a piece of lettuce to give the bland kids burger some colour. The location of this place is one of the best for views but the staff need to get their act together.

Ok so I've been coming here to St Ives bay holiday park for over a decade. Been to the bay bistro probably about 4 times. Why only 4? Well the reason is I find that the chips they serve with the food are really very bad. They are very hot but always raw or hard in the middle. They are frozen chips of low quality and cooked badly. I have complained in the past but been told I'm the only one to complain. I doubt that. But don't get me wrong place is clean and staff seek ok. But the chip issues just mean I pass it by rather than stop to eat. Shame as it's good on site place. I'd say it's ok just skip the chips

The lady who served us was very polite however despite paying nearly £10 for a burger and chips (given its credit it was quite big and did come with a single slice of bacon and some onion rings) but the quality of the meat was very substandard for the price and about half way through i noticed there was hair in my burgar!2-3 pieces of hair about 2cm long. The lady serving seemed quite embarrassed and then suggested it was probably just from a cleaning pad and apoligised. However i am not convinced this came from a cleaning pad. I am very disappointed and quite disgusted that the kitchen staff seem to think that this quality is acceptable. This would be a 1* had the lady serving not been so polite.I don't enjoy giving bad reviews and maybe i just got unlucky with my order.

Had a few meals here and the food was decent food, not amazing and not horrible. They do a fairly good range of meals and the prices are not extortionate by any means. The staff were friendly enough, HOWEVER, my fiance was stood at the till area waiting to be served for a minute or so whilst one of the girls stood there on her phone completely oblivious to the fact someone was stood there waiting to order food, and even when she noticed, she didn't apologise, which was a little annoying. Don't expect fine dining, its not advertised as such, but not bad for a meal to eat there or takeaway to your caravan or chalet.

This was our first visit to this particular park with 3 generations in tow. The new set up, as they were in their first year and contracted in, seems to be let down at the start. The staff offered us Spaghetti Bolognese with either cheddar or parmesan and I asked for the cheddar. When it came to the bill, they had charged us 95 pence for a tiny amount of cheese. I have to admit that I am not the person that comments on anything and everything, nor do I ever right a review of my experience. If I am unsatisfied with the experience, I just won't return again. But ... I have been seeing the Development of this establishment for that past 20 years and treated myself quite often to a night or two in any of the corner or best suites ( highly recommend those ) and enjoyed the ambiance and service this hotel had to offer. Our experience: Arrival to the hotel : We planned to have drinks prior to our meal. Found the bar area as busy as usual. With no free seats in sight, I ask the Brasserie manager if we could order drinks in the main lounge, whereas we been told that there normally is service but he has no clue what they doing today. Not answer I was hoping for. The entrance to the main lounge also been blocked off for some reason. Luckily the wait at bar was sufficient enough to pass the time for a table to become vacant. In previous visits, a relaxed table service was offered but not this time for some reason . Guess it’s an informal 5 star service.. , had to ask for bar menus as neither been on the bar or tables to see what’s on offer. ( also no usual complimentary nuts that used to be offered ) Restaurant We arrived early to our Booking at the samphire and were delighted to be able to be seated, unfortunately without any menus. It took about 10-15 min of us staring holes into the warm air, when I lost my patients and had to get up from the table to ask for menus at the entrance of the Restaurant. Yet again it took quite a while for us to order drinks and food as it seemed to be a chaotic service with everyone doing everything and no restaurant Manager nor head waiter in sight ( please note.. all evening ) . The lack of attention to detail was incredible .. table settings with knives to left and forks to right on every table .. just wow - giggle Food and drinks order done. ( ordered a glass of white wine with my mains, which never arrived ).. Drinks arrived what seamed ages. Overheard table next to us complaining about the slow service too, which been given a small apology but no solution to increase the speed of service ( yet again a lack of management ) Noticed the young waiter being unfamiliar on how to correctly present a bottle of wine and opening it, which I thought should be a training standard for a 5 star establishment. not only did he seem untrained, he also dried his hands in a used napkin left on the table next to him where diners just left. The pork belly starter , was below luke warm which was shame as its been rather tasty. I guess if a portion of this size is sitting on a kitchen pass for mere 3 min, it naturally will loose its core temperature, suggestion.. Next time use a cloche! I wanted to point this out to the service but yet again no manager or headwaiter to be seen and the waiters seem too busy to be bothered. Once they did ask if everything is alright, but by that time we finished what we had on the plate ( which is not a lot if you are hungry ) Unfortunately the main course of the hen and the monk fish not been any better and yet again being luke warm. Dessert of the frangipane tart and pineapple been ok, but yet again no attention to detail, as the dessert been bought out without cutlery being replenished prior. Ordered coffee to be served in the lounge, which arrived with no sugar or spoon and had to be asked for separately. When I paid my bill, I mentioned that the wine I ordered with my main course never arrived. No apology was offered.. A "informal fine Dining " experience. 95% informal - 5 % fine Dining. :-( Over the past 20 years I always chose the Headland hotel for its perfection, attention to detail and impeccable service, this time it's not delivered to its promise which is a shame cause that's what I will remember.. Coming from a 4 to a 5 star .. I expected more ( go back to 4 stars !!! You been better then
