Untouched for decades, this is that last surviving authentic central Cheltenham pub. Tidy dukebox, ale, Hallowe'en spiders, owner and staff. Make sure to tip your hat to the rather silent and immobile regular by the bar every time you pass him.

Secret garden, a real suntrap in summer, staropramen lager..simply a hidden gem. Del is a spot on landlord, all beers good, proper pub real close to town. Proper locals boozer with loads of decent ales and ciders and right next to the e scooter stop. For me its the first couple of pints on the way into town

Super nice place if you want just to have a pint and chat with someone. No loud music, no screaming TV. Classic pub. 10/10

Great little pub, a little off the beaten track.

We love this pub! It’s very authentic and we make a point of stopping in for a pint when we are in town. The owner is Stan Laurel’s grandson and is very accommodating to his customers and a very nice guy. It’s definitely worth a visit.

Simply the best proper pub in Cheltenham

Me and my wife have been coming down Cheltenham for the last 3 years apart from 2020 we found this pub by chance. And we glad we found this pub. IMO the best pub in Cheltenham Del Boy top landlord the staff second to none a very warm welcome by all.

A proper pub, enjoyed the drinks l had in there(on both visits), the atmosphere, everything.

Small and friendly old school pub, real ales and a jukebox.

A great place for a quiet beer!

Passed this pub on the way back to our hotel and noticed a pub sign outside here advertising the secret garden. Well it was quirky and really nicely laid out. Half an old Mini overlooking us on a wall. Old Speckled Hen on tap so I was happy.

Sat in beer garden, it was quite pleasant. Staff were nice enough. As far as pubs go, it was ok

Popped in for the first (and maybe last) time one evening - low on atmosphere & low on welcome, with lady behind the bar wearing a bored expression, playing around on her phone. Not what I expected. There are plenty of better boozers in Cheltenham. Real shame as I'd like to see all the pubs successful.

Nice and quiet pub in the middle of town, yet off the beaten track at the same time. This is a proper pub, so no food except bar snacks. Good drinks selection and a beer garden out the back.

I remember coming here once. We drank a pint and left after the "locals" didn't seem to like us coming in. Bar staff super friendly and a nice pint. This was a while ago and will update when I next go in.
