although the decor inside could be nicer. Was lovely to learn of its history & to sit in the area outside. Limited basic (vegan) menu & only filter coffee.! The toilets were filthy, & had no paper. Steep incline to reach the cafe, fine for buggys & wheelchairs. Parking in the main town and about a 10-15min walk.

Had been meaning to visit the cafe for a while but always managed to get there when it was closed! This time we were in luck, so headed in. Lovely lady serving, really welcoming and pleasant. Choice of food was perfect - all vegetarian/vegan and they cater for GF and nut allergies too. We had a spicy bean burger and mozarella burger, both served with a fresh salad. They served an array of fresh sandwiches, plus veggie curry, indian snacks, Homity pie and veggie sausage baps. All perfect when you're passing through after a long walk. Yorkshire tea and great coffee. The inside is a little tatty/looks like it needs a clean - but with muddy dogs, walkers and wet weather - it really can't be helped! The food and service more than made up for it. To other reviewers who have complained about the prices - it's no more expensive than other cafes in Malvern, and this place is worth it. It's a piece of history - and off the beaten track! For transporting the food/services up there - surely it's worth paying for what you get? We will definitely make this a stopping point for drinks/snacks on regular trips up the hills.

This place is a little gem and an important part of Malvern’s history. Sadly, on the day we visited it looked very unloved and unkempt. A very friendly lady served us, but we decided not to order any food and just had a herbal tea and a black coffee. We were charged an extortionate price £5.50 and the drinks were served in small cardboard cups. Such a shame - with some TLC the cafe could be much improved.

After struggling with walking up to the cafe my husband promised me it would be worth it. IT IS DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY. We would not eat or drink here. Rubbish was piled up. They have the gift of the well but unfortunately room is used as storage & it is very dirty. Went to a cafe in town. Talking to the owners they said they last was up there 5 years ago but they've (the owners) have ruined it. We've got to agree. When we walked into the ordering area lots of wires & cables on the floor that you had to walk over. All in all not worth visiting

A very good lunch. My sandwiches were freshly made and tasted very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. My wife is Gluten Free and, although there wasn't a separate GF menu, they were able to find something which did not disagree with her diet. An added bonus is that it is dog friendly (which was ideal because it was raining the day we visited). Some garden seating, which would be very good in better weather.

Tea in a paper cup and had to fish the tea bag out myself to add to a bowl with others tea bags. Disgusting. My friend had coffee in a paper cup. I have visited this place many times in recent years but my last visit was so disappointing. I don’t know what’s changed but standards have seriously dropped. Drinks were served from paper cups instead of crockery. The cakes were shop bought instead of home-made.

Drove our 92 year old gran, who has cancer, up to see the well and enjoy the cafe. She lives on the other side of the country so this is not something we can do again. Unfortunately the road is ‘authorised vehicles only’. We have a disabled badge and planned to drop my gran off at the cafe before coming down to park. The owner did not allow us to do this and we had to drive my gran back down - she was deeply hurt and upset as it was one of the things she wanted to do before she passes, being very spiritual. I am deeply disgusted at the cafe owner, and am emailing this to them as well. Please do not give these people custom.

Very nice place to stop on your way up (or down) and refuel. And, at the same time, you're supporting a local small business :-) I was very surprised with the choice on offer, being vegan. We had a lovely oat hot chocolate :-) They even have vegan (and vegetarian) burgers! And they were eager to chat as well, very nice people :-) And it was so quiet, peaceful, and there's plenty of seats outside with the forest around you. We'll definitely visit again and support them.

Lovely setting but very underwhelming drinks and cakes. Coffee was almost tasteless (I’m generally pretty easy to please with coffee, but on this occasion I agreed with my coffee-aficionado husband), hot chocolate was decent but rather overpriced for the size, at £3 for a small one. Flapjack was fine but nothing special, chocolate fudge cake was on the dry side and not fudgy, and again a bit tasteless. Service was fine but not really friendly - a smile would have been nice! Overall we felt it wasn’t good value for money and wished we’d gone elsewhere (sorry).

After a long - and rather sweaty - walk around the hills in the blistering heat, we made a stop at St Ann's Well. I had researched it beforehand, with their own words on their website stating: "We are 100% Vegetarian and offer a range of Vegan options". Emphasis on 'range'. We looked at the board, which had scribbly writing on it and things messily crossed out... The only vegan savoury option was an onion bhaji, of all things?! I asked if they offered sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes or anything like that, and the miserable woman serving just said "there's the menu". Talk about service... The coffee was served in horrible disposable cups (the ones that go to landfil). There were vats of tomato ketchup and mayo sitting on a plastic table cloth. There were sheets of A4 stuck all over the walls with various things the owner had obviously made and printed, including something about comparing face masks with IQ. Know your audience - for such a wonderful location, they haven't used the space very well, they're not offering much and it just left us feeling depressed. We went to sit down and realised they had no sun shade brollies, so quickly ate and left. What a misery. My suggestions - if the sun is shining and it's a weekend, you should know to expect more visitors, so have more food options. If you are going to claim you have "a range of vegan options", make sure you actually do. Serve tea and coffee in pots and cups with saucers - most vegetarians and vegans care for the environment so don't like your throw-away cups. Try to create a memorable experience for your guests, not one that leaves them feeling deflated.

Having spent the morning walking the hills around North Hill and up to Worcester Beacon my wife and I were looking forward to calling in to the cafe for coffee and cake on the descent. My wife must have been overly eager, as she stumbled and fell hard just when we were within yards of the cafe's front door. Panic set in as the blood gushed from a knee wound, but the day was saved when the lady from the cafe abandoned preparing some fresh cakes and rushed out with a first aid kit. She cleaned the wound and placed a temporary plaster over it. We then enjoyed a cuppa and fresh cake before setting off for the local hospital. So a very big thank you to that lady who saved our day. Unfortunately the knee is still not fully repaired, but as soon as it is we will be visiting Malvern and St Ann's Cafe for some more treats.

We’d read that this was accessible and a great location. With a baby in a buggy these were important. We had several attempts to find the right, very steep, road/path and eventually were rewarded by a sign that told us we were on the correct route. The main problem was the signage, which apparently they aren’t allowed to improve. In addition, we weren’t sure if the cafe was actually at the well, which it is. This is a great location if you are out and about on the hills as there is outdoor seating, toilets, and much needed refreshments. There were nice vegan cakes and the staff were very helpful. Maybe not ideal though if you have young children or mobility is an issue.

When we arrived we found a pretty run down, shabby-looking venue. We didn't have any change on us and when we asked if we could pay by card the man at the counter looked at us like we were insane and swiftly pointed to the no card payments sign. For there to be a sign others must have found themselves in the same position. Needless to say we were incredibly disappointed as we'd walked a fair way to get there. This business could make a small fortune owing to its location, if invested in and brought into the 21st century. A real shame.

Nice walk up from the town center via Rose Bank Gardens or St Anns Rd / Happy Valley, or accessed via the various paths that criss cross this side of the hill. Nice little quirky cafe next to the spring, outside seating is also available, a nice quiet location in the woods. This is not widely advertised and was quiet on my recent visit, a little secret location. I don't think they take cards (?) so take cash up if you are going to pause for a tea or something to eat. Worth the walk.

The cafe has been here for decades and is well worth the walk., it serves hot and cold drinks, cakes and vegetarian/vegan food. There are nice walks on the hills and the route past the cafe takes you up to Worcestershire beacon.

We go here every time we're in Malvern. It is a welcome stop after walking the hills. The baguettes are amazing and the hot chocolate is hot, thick and very chocolatey. You can also get free water from St Ann's well. It's so pretty outside you feel you're in paradise. Friendly staff and unspoilt location. Love this place.

Saw this on the way for a walk on the hills but didn't open until 11.00. It looked so pretty in the surrounding woods I made sure we headed back post walk. Pleased we did.Lots of lovely things to choose on the menus including veggie options for a light lunch. If you are passing make sure you stop even to catch your breath, take in the atmosphere and visit the water fountain.

After a very long walk a good cup of tea was most welcome. It is a very pretty spot with lots of shade and a pretty pond.

Stumbled across St Ann's whilst walking the Malvern Hills and had a much needed cup of tea. Delighted to find the selection of both vegan and gluten free cakes. A must visit. I'll probably put myself through the pain of the hills again just for the cake at the end!

What a treat to find such a quirky cafe in such a beautiful location. Offering a small but much appreciated range of refreshments. It is like a hidden gem and a reward for the effort made to get there.

Went here after walking up Worcestershire beacon, had a very moist flavoursome carrot cake and a refreshing cup of tea! Wasn't cheap but worth it. Beautiful setting in a fantastic location.

another Malvern Hills secret. Good place for a short stop, especially on nice summer days. Closes for part of the winter. Unfortunately, beginning to go downhill (no pun intended) and in need of renovation. Upstairs room seems permanently closed. But a place full of character and local history. Hot drinks and cakes always available.

Having just got home from a holiday in Italy we fancied a final evening out but our local was fully booked. The Lion was second choice as it is not walkable for us. Very buzzy atmosphere, good pub food and , best of all, the most excellent service, from a young woman who seemed to do everything front of house and still have time to chat, quite up to anything we had abroad.

Cracking meal here, very well priced, prepared and cooked by the husband and wife owners. Our visit was made extra special by the friendly ( and comical ) staff - James, Holly and Jay - friendly and chatty locals and a real fire- We can’t recommend this pub enough.
