Visited as a couple with 2 dogs. Lovely rooms with plenty of space, decent tele and comfy bed. St Agnes is a lovely little village with a great beach and bars surrounding. Breakfast is really good and breakfast staff were lovely, unfortunately the evening kitchen was closed but from a previous visit would definitely book for an evening meal again. Electric shower. Would definitely stay again.

We have eaten at the St Agnes hotel a couple of times, twice for Sunday Lunch and one other time we had food from the main menu. The food from the main menu is underwhelming, definitely overpriced regular brewery catering food. The Sunday lunch is slightly superior and better value, but unfortunately, on each occasion the vegetables were very under cooked; crunchy is an understatement (definitely not al dente). However, having recently moved to St Agnes our main objective is to find a friendly local. Unfortunately, St Agnes hotel did not deliver for us, as we felt like the owners main objective isn't about fostering a relationship with returning customers. There is definitely a preoccupation of get you in and out asap. After we had eaten we felt compelled to drink up and leave (not because our table was booked as it was 8.30pm and there were plenty of empty tables). We definitely will not be using St Agnes Hotel as our local.

We were recommended to try the St Agnes Hotel for lunch today and we were not disappointed. The manager and staff were helpful, engaging and professional and the atmosphere, bearing in mind the current situation, was safe and welcoming. The best thing though is the food, we had the seabass & the beef, followed by desserts & coffee and every single course was simply fabulous. It was so good we've booked to go Friday for dinner.

We decided to eat here after visiting on previous years and throughly enjoying ourselves! We booked a table and were greeted by a cheery member of the team who seemed to be in charge. He showed us to our table but didnt give us menus. Another member of staff took our drink menus, then a third person came over and asked us if we were going to order food. If you book a table for dinner - surely this is pretty self explanatory that we will be ordering food....We ordered and the starters came, these were very nice, then the mains came. My partners Korean chicken burger was so dry and the bun was burnt to a crisp. We finished our mains and the plates weren't cleared for 40 minutes, despite us sitting right in front of the bar. During this time the member of the team that greeted us was eating behind the bar, and the two members of staff on the bar spent most of the night flirting with each other, running up to clear tables, a glass was smashed over the bar full of gin and tonic. And all the while I believe the manager was sitting in the booth next to us with his dog and said nothing. When our plates were eventually cleared we asked to order desserts, at this point it was gone 10pm, but no one had been to our table before that point. The young lad had to check if the kitchen was still open. Surely if we had ordered mains the kitchen will stay open until we have ordered desserts or said we don't want them? We ordered two sticky toffee puddings, cue the swearing you could hear from the kitchen. They arrived in record time and were stone cold. We also asked for a coffee and were told the coffee machine had been turned off hours ago, "but you can have like a water or something" was the response we were met with. We sent the sticky toffee puddings back, paid the bill and left. It's such a shame to see such a lovely place let down by such appalling service.

I had Mexican pulled pork tacos for main which were excellent and so tasty. Hubby had crab linguine which he enjoyed but sauce v creamy so quite rich. Son had the burger which he loved and gf had the gnocchi which was lovely but rich and she couldn't finish. We were too full for pudding. A really lovely meal and a great atmosphere.

We used to frequent the Aggie at least 4 times during our annual week's stay; however, the standards and quality of the food has deteriorated since our last stay. I think the chef has been replaced by a cook and all the bland meals look as if they had been pre-prepared and heated up in the oven as and when ordered; hence the use of metal plates/dishes. Such a shame as this was always our first port of call for a family of 12 evening meal. It seems that the catering side of the pub has taken a back seat and is not widely advertised and is now just a pub. So be it if the new owners feel this is the way forward but don't expect any good eating experiences. On the plus side, as a pub, it's good and the beers on offer are great.

I'm actually a regular customer and used to pop in quite often for a meal. They've had several different chefs in all the time I've been visiting, and nearly all have served up interesting and delicious food. This is the first time I've visited since the hotel changed hands, and the chef is new and boy what a change. I won't be visiting again anytime soon. I don't think I've had such a bland meal in years. The only way to describe it is that it tasted cheap. The hotel has always been a bit pricier for meals but at least they were decent. The menus in the past used to have a nice selection of interesting dishes but I only liked one dish on the new menu. Very poor options, and the loaded fries were absolutely revolting. It tasted like there was tomato puree on them. I'm actually really disappointed as this really was one of my favourite places to go for a meal and it's sad to see it go downhill like this. Hope they get their act together and employ someone who can actually cook! I won't be back until then!

We have dropped into the hotel for a drink on a number of occasions but never had a proper sit down meal so decided to give it a try. Friendly locals and staff but the food is disappointing. My husband’s sirloin steak was very poor quality - tasteless and tough. I would bet my duck leg had arrived via a catering supplier and was not cooked on the premises. It’s difficult to disappoint with a crumble, but the rhubarb variety we ordered was not good. Sour rhubarb with pallid crumbs thrown on top and marginal contact with the oven, it was not pleasant. Such a shame. We spent £85 on a meal for 2 adults & 1 child, mains plus 2 x desserts (crumble!) and 1 bottle of wine. That’s a lot of money!

We cam here for a Sunday lunch when on holiday in St Agnes. Service was incredibly slow- the staff were rushed off their feet and probably not enough of them. We were seated at the back of the restaurant and were waiting for our food when a man (I assume the manager/landlord) asked the whole pub if anyone objected to the football going on. We didn't think it would effect us, until he lowered a big projector screen right next to our table! We had to ask to move and fortunately were able to but with a baby, pram, toddler and 6 adults it was a real inconvenience. We felt it was dealt with really badly and the manager (?) did not take it at all seriously. The food was bad quality with not much meat on the Sunday Roast. Generally a really bad experience.

I always feel it can be a bit hit and miss in a small Cornish village pub/hotel. However I liked the menu and ordered the ribeye steak. Now my favourite steak restaurant is Maze Grill in Grosvenor Square - setting service aside which was good and very friendly for a pub but not a patch on Maze - the steak was excellent - succulent, tender, seasoned very well and delicious. The accompaniments were also excellent with a special mention for the truffle and Parmesan fries which were a highlight. I ordered the cheeseboard for dessert and the cheeses were again excellent including the local Yarg. My test for a cheeseboard is is there enough butter and enough crackers and in both regards more than enough. Overall a really excellent meal. And I have to say I found the staff very friendly - the landlord was present and was friendly and welcoming, happy to chat about the food and life in general. Thoroughly recommended.

What a terrible turn around. Not only is the pub now a faceless, boring weatherspoons impression (if you were going on the pictures above you’ll be in for a disappointment) but if your there in the evening be prepared for an abusive, drunk landlord who happily makes a total show of himself regularly. Sadly the food doesn’t make up for it. Wouldn’t eat in here for free, the ‘baked’ Camembert I last had here was clearly microwaved and not even until hot thank goodness it’s not my local anymore. As a family and as a couple we have eaten here numerous times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have had both good and bad experiences. Tonight only one special on offer at 7.30pm and not that busy so only the limited menu to choose from. We were very specific with our order requirements - steak cooked medium rare, one chicken burger without bbq sauce or mayonnaise (or anything else). When the food arrived the chicken burger still had a sauce on and the steak was well done at best and very tough. The waitress wasn't aware one chicken burger was different from the others so we had to look to find out. Wanting to eat as a family and not wait for 2 meals out of 6 to be re-cooked we accepted but made our feelings known. Bill the host is a really nice guy but wasn't around tonight which didn't help the overall service. No offer of a complimentary drink or to reduce the bill but that wasn't what we were looking for - we just wanted a decent meal. So for us it is time to go elsewhere for dinner as we are spending a lot of money and not getting good value. Sorry Bill.

Ate here again, as we do every year. The food is wholesome, reasonably priced and the service is good. There is a good atmosphere in the place which was lively and busy

We stopped here as it was dog friendly. Whilst the table we chose to sit at was dirty the rest of the place seemed clean. The food was nice although the fish cake could have had a little more fish, in bigger chunks in it but it was tasty. The menu didn't have that much choice on it though so doubt we would revisit unfortunately.

Stayed here for 3 days to attend a wedding. Had a great time. Ate dinner in the restaurant 1 night, very good. Breakfast service was mixed, quite slow on 2 days.Food was also not up to expectations on 1 day.Pub has old world character. Hotel rooms are not bad, be aware no lift/elevator and steep stairs, tough with large luggage.Shower worked well.

Popped in for a bite to eat. Excellent food and came out very quickly. Right in the middle of the village and comfortable to sit in. Would recommend!

Die Bar im Hotel ist nett, das Essen sehr gut, und das Bier schmeckt. Leider hatten wir 2x Pech und es waren größere Feiern, sodass es relativ laut war. Aber man kann auch nett draußen sitzen. Empfehlenswert!

Went to this establishment for dinner whilst on hols, the hotel bar restaurant area looks a lot fifteenth to its website having been refurbished and is really nice inside. Food is decent and the staff are very friendly and attentive. There is a good selection of beers including some local ale and lager, prices were reasonable too. Would certainly come back again.

I’ve stayed at a lot of different Hotels & Pub B&B in Fowey and other places in Cornwall!! But the king has surpassed them all beautiful, super clean room fabulous view. The staff was amazing and friendly. They were knowledgeable of the area gave me information even though I’ve been there several times of NEW places to visit. The food absolutely delicious from lobster ravioli starter to the scallop plus their Sunday roast. I will definitely be staying there again!! Last, but not least for once they had pillows that were plush not the flat hard as a Rock ones you usually get because I’m allergic to downfilled ones!! I could not say enough great things about staying there. Well done everyone at the King of Prussia. 5 stars
