Springwell Inn in Carmarthenshire

We visited a couple of times during our stay in Pendine. The place has been refurbished, making it more aesthetically pleasing and accessible. All our meals were beautiful and the Sunday roast is 10/10. Great service too. Would Definitely Recommend! 🤩

Plus side: Food is good. Portion sizes quite big. I couldn't eat all mine. It was tasty. Husband had fish and chips. Good size fish. I had pork loin again a good size. We were asked ywice if everything was OK😀 Negatives: The young waitress did not ask if we had any food allergies. We ate at six pm and towards the end of the meal two men got the pool table out and began playing. Not really the atmosphere you want when eating. We were not asked if we wanted dessert. I would recommend the food.

Yet another visit for a Sunday lunch, went here in May and again today. Fantastic Sunday roast. Staff are brilliant and the pub has a great atmosphere, book first mind as it gets busy.

The beer selection for a real ale drinker like myself wasn’t great as they only had Doombar on draught. However the Madri went down well. The Chilean Sauvignon Blanc was quite bland and unfortunately there was no New Zealand alternative. My wife and I had the Cod and Sea Bass which were great; huge portions. The service was very good. Recommend.

My wife and I had a great meal last night. Sirloin cooked perfectly and Sian's cod was beautiful. Waiting staff were really good as well. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Popped into the Springwell after visiting the Museum of Land Speed at Pendine and were extremely grateful that they managed to accommodate us indoors on a breezy evening. As a family of 5 with 3 neurodiverse children each with their own dietary preferences, it's often a challenge to find something that everyone will eat, but the children's menu here had plenty of variety. My eldest (13) had sausage, mash, peas and gravy, 11 year old had a cheese burger and chips, and the 6 year old was made up to see cheese and tomato pizza on the menu (which apparently was the best pizza he ever had and earned a double thumbs up!) The adults had the Aberdeen angus burger and garlic mushroom chicken. All meals were generously portioned and delicious. Of course, we couldn't go without having some pudding (after spotting the cake fridge with lemon meringue on display!) Again, absolutely delicious with generous portions - I'd recommend sharing one between two. A good selection of beers, lagers, ciders and soft drinks on offer and a special shout out to Lily who was attentive and welcoming. We'll definitely be back next time we're down this part of the country! Thank you to everyone at the Springwell Inn!

Our 2nd visit for Sunday lunch whilst on holiday close by. A great carvery, all home cooked and plenty of veg options. Good , friendly service. Look forward to another return visit when we are back in the area.

We tried Spring Well as a local place to eat while staying in Pendine. So pleased that we did! Great menu, excellent food, brilliant service. We went on Friday and got busy from about 7pm, so best to book to avoid disappointment. Good to know they still serve food on Mondays (a lot of places don't) but kitchen may close a bit earlier depending on footfall, so aim to be no later than 7. Definitely recommend this place 👍

We just enjoyed a lovely meal here. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The food was home cooked, fresh and really tasty. There was a good choice of food, even for our fussy son. Would highly recommend!

Absolute gem of a find. We dropped in for a drink and possibly a bite to eat on Thursday. Stumbled into pie night and couldn’t resist! 2 for £20 and an absolute bargain! I had fish and he that thinks he should be obeyed had steak and ale. So good we booked a table for tonight!

We visited The Springwell while on a family holiday in Pendine. After trying a lunch for two we returned for an evening meal. Each time we visited we were delighted with both the service and the meal itself. We never left hungry as the portions were generous. Mains and desserts were both to an amazingly high standard and the service was outstanding. Try the lamb shank and the duck in blueberry sauce! We were so pleased that we went back every night and took the family on two occasions. The children were very taken with the servers who were friendly and attentive throughout (above and beyond the call of duty). Congratulations to the chef and staff (and to chefs good lady for the chocolate orange cake). The premises were consistently spotless throughout. Prices were always reasonable.

Tuned up on the off chance of food, staff were really helpful and friendly, food was delicious, best beef we have had in ages, would highly recommend.

This pub is excellent. The food is home prepared and beautifully cooked. I would highly recommend the "Hunters Chicken" and the chicken strips which are massive. The portions are large and well presented. The Sunday carvery is excellent and the vegetables are properly cooked (not hard). The desserts are all home made by the "land lady" and delicious. I would recommend that you book to avoid disappointment. The staff are friendly and helpful. We ate there 3 times in a week so it shows how good this pub is.

Went here for a Sunday carvery and have to say was impressed. Booked after reading some very positive reviews and can’t fault it. Plenty of options on the carvery, all very well cooked and kept hot, something so many fail to do. The service was excellent, waitresses very attentive and pleasant. The deserts would big portions but very nice! Would recommend a stop off if your looking for a decent carvery!

We came after arriving in Pendine, wanting something to eat. We got there at about 6, but couldn't find anywhere to sit inside. I asked the older lady (very politely) about the dining tables which were all free, and she kind of just shrugged and said "no" and wandered off, no explaination of how to book for another night or anything. So we sat outside in the drizzle and had our drinks. The decking is past its best, worn and some of it curling up on the steps. The wooden fence is entirely broken up on the decking - basically the place is knackered and they're not far off a dangerous accident. I've seen this so much in Wales this week - the places that really try hard for business are doing really well, but places like this think they can do whatever and wonder why business is down. I suppose they have a captive audience with the Parkdean site. Star added for the younger people who came on shift about 6 who were a lot nicer and realise the benefit of visitors.

A fantastic lunch had Duck with a berry sauce and the Pork with Black Pudding in Pepper sauce. Hot and fresh and great portions. Flavours got the mouth singing ! Had two great desserts and to top it all had two homemade pasties to takeaway. Thank you and be assured we will return.

Just had a week at pendine sands and came here everyday with my wife and daughter. A great local pub with very friendly staff. Food was fantastic as well, and a great pint of aspells cider.

We visited whilst on holiday and were delightedthat dogs were able to go in to one section of the pub. Very clean even with the cat on the seat at the side if us. The bar staff asked if we wanted it moving when we sat down but it was no trouble at all and even our dog was happy for it to remain there. Lovely food and the staff were some of the nicest people I met whilst on holiday. The Lemon Cheesecake was an absolute triumph and we all left sated and happy. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.

Was offered a table in the bar was taken to it by waitress table was stinking no effort to clean it so cleaned it ourselves when food came it was awful we ordered Hunters chicken it was terrible chicken was like rubber .Also there was a cat crawling all over the seats we were sitting at not very hygienic in my opinion .I visit pendine at least twice a year will not eat here again.And to the owner if you cant take criticism get you're house in order

Lovely place! Reading the last review. I find it hard to believe you even read the instructions upon entering to be honest, we were welcomed, asked to wait while the table cleaned, you have a choice where you sit, we had a dog so sat in the bar, where they are allowed. If you have chosen her then what were you expecting? I am truely thankful that there is still a business operating that adds value to a small village like Pendine where you are limited unless travelling a distance. Food spot on, friendly and gave our holiday an extra option. You would be the first to moan if it wasn’t here, perhaps McDonald’s is where you are best suited!

While eating our food we had a cat in its bed on the same seat as us crawling over us while eating our food. We even had to clean the table ourselves as it was dirty. Wouldn’t visit again.

Had a lovely family meal here last night, arrived at 5pm kitchen not open till 6pm, chef came out and opened kitchen to start cooking early, very helpful and lovely staff, lovely setting overlooking the sea. Very strange experience. We've been a few times over the years but this time because of covid I assume , no starters a few mains and no desserts no extra sides . Can't think of any reason for limited menu , the waitress looked vacant when asked a question and the final touch was the meals were served on tin foil trays and we were lucky the next table had polystyrene cartons . Food was nice but the whole experience was strange and lacking any atmosphere which usually occurs on a night out
