Incredible joint of Beef, we drove out on a Sunday morning and spoke to Alex on the butchery who gave us brilliant advice on the best cut of beef for a nice medium cook, we came away with a lovely piece of Topside for two people. After this we went to Tesco and out of curiosity I checked how much this cut of meat was from there and was surprised to see it was the same price per kilo! I can honestly say it was the best Beef I have ever purchased and we will certainly be coming back often if not weekly. Alex also gave advice on cooking times and was spot on. Could not recommend any higher!

My husband and I had a joint of beef from this shop and a few of their veggies, and oh my god, it is truly the best beef I have ever eaten. Incredibly juicy and so flavourful - you can tell it’s high quality. Veggies were fab too, the carrots and kale in particular. We will definitely come back!

Owners seem to be under the impression it is a "farm shop". Produce is comparable to supermarket or service station stock (except at triple the cost). In our experience: Anaemic and watery tomatoes with no taste or colour. Mottled insect eaten cabbages. Processed bread rolls which are stale, sour grapes which are supposed to be seedless but have seeds, a £12 chicken pumped full of water, tasting exactly like cheap battery poultry offerings from most supermarkets. Condiments sold in most chain stores, at nearly double the cost. What's the advantage of shopping here? Cafe section also shut down since the pandemic, no point in using this establishment when local village and other farm shops have more to offer at more competitive prices in Kingsbridge. Progressively disappointing every time we have visited. Very much a 'closing down vibe' about the place. Their hearts and stock just do not seem in it. Also published this review elsewhere on social media, due to repeated flagging attempts. Watch this review disappear, as they flag last minute, really quite underhanded, like their stock. What are they afraid of? Two bad reviews?

We stopped at Springfield farm shop recently and bought a couple of steaks to cook back at our holiday cottage. The butcher recommended rib-eye and the steaks were ***outstanding*** I asked where the meat was from and he said North Prawle, which is nearby and an area that I know from childhood holidays. The flavour of the steaks was fabulous and they were the tenderest I'd ever had. While at the shop we also bought local Devon cider vinegar and the range of items on sale was excellent. Highly recommended.

Stopped off for a coffee and something to eat whilst on a walk. Very friendly place. I bought a piece of apple cake and it was delightful and enormous...I had to ask for a doggy bag! coffee was great. I also ended up buying some steak for my evening meal that night. If I'm back in the area, I will make a point of re-visiting. There's nothing NOT to like!

We stopped in Springfield today after hearing about the change in management. And all I can say I wow the staff were so friendly and accommodating especially with my little one who was hungry so near a melt down! but they seated up quickly and even gave said cross child a biscuit to tie her over till the food arrived! Everything was local and sustainably sourced which was amazing. The butcher even explained our beef roast dinner supplies meat and all the veg had all done under 150 road miles. And the whole place was a family enterprise with three of the same family all working in the shop! It was such a lovely experience one I can see we will be repeating often! Very highly recommend the breakfast which is now back in full force!

I called in for a breakfast time visit as I have done previously. The cafe was completely empty except for staff and one customer in the butcher's department.I asked for two poached eggs on toast and a coffee and I got a one-line reply from the lady behind the counter who simply said: "I don't do toast". Nothing else was said and so I left immediately. It is a pity really because I had previously called, perhaps four times, not for much other than a bacon sandwich or an afternoon tea but it had usually been a nice experience. This time it wasn't and I will not be going back.

Not a good experience for us I am afraid. We chose from the deli for the ‘pie and salad’ for a late lunch. The pies we chose ‘chicken and ham hock’ were marked at half price (I expect because they had to be used that day for sell by date) Said yes please when asked if we wanted them warmed. The ‘salad’ consisted of one lettuce leaf with tiny amount of grated carrot and a thin slither of onion.More like a’garnish’ than a salad. The ‘warming’ didn’t reach the middle of the pie either so the centre was cold. When it came to pay we were told that the pies were only half price if we took them away so as we ate in then they were full price ! I am usually not one to make a fuss and it was only a few pounds difference but it was the principle of the matter. It should have been pointed out at the time. To add insult to injury ended up with a dodgy tummy. So we will be avoiding this place in the future.

We googled farm shops in the local area and this beauty popped up. Both waitresses and the chef were extremely friendly. Being scrambled egg on toast connoisseurs we were dubious having being fooled the previous day by a TripAdvisor 5 star rating but believe me this was 100% worth the full 5/5. Service - brilliant, speed - brilliant, price - reasonable. Taste and quality of eggy beanals (the Yorkshire version of egg and beans on toast) 100% amazing! What a lovely place. Thank you for your service. Living in Yorkshire, it almost makes the weekly commute worthwhile!! See you soon!!!

I really like Springfield. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I believe the food is sourced from local produce and you can tell, the tastes are right up there. The breakfasts are delicious and on a couple of occasions we have sampled their burgers, which are quite a mouthful (seriously, go with a empty stomach to sample those babies). My only criticism would be that I wish there was a little more variation on the menu, more on offer ..but they are only a small tearoom and primarily a farm shop. Pricing is very fair for the area, service is super quick for such a small establishment. The ability to eat outside, sit with your dog is a bonus, the parking is also very ample right next to the store. There is some interesting produce inside the shop, the free range chicken and the British sausages seriously being among the best I have tasted. Potatoes, which seem to be above average size these days, for baking. Again, I wish there were more variation of goods to chose from inside but thoroughly recommend a visit.

Our B&B; listed the Springfield Tearoom as an excellent local place to eat and so we made sure to include it and breakfast was when it worked out for us. The full English Breakfast was delicious as was the tea. A couple of us also had flat whites which were made to perfection. All served in sweet, old-fashioned china. Overlooks the beautiful estuary. We sat inside but some were outside which would be lovely. The store and butcher is in the same space and we purchased some goodies and cider for later. All wonderful

Limited opening times, No food so asked out of curtesy if grandson could eat a snack. Was told no but to eat outside in the garden which had a closed sign on the gate, so had eat in the smoking area. Didn't feel particularly welcome. No alternative snack was offered. Wasn't very accommodating, we were staying local and would have returned for a meal but they said closed Monday and Tuesday and we would need to book if wanted to return. I would advise anyone to give this pub a a miss as there are much better pubs in the area
