Half the menu is always sold out, food is average, service can sometimes be slow, but really nice cosy pub.

Brilliant service and lovely GF fish and chips, we really enjoyed our lunch here as a young family, hope to visit again in future

Recently had my mum's wake at the pub,really couldn't have chosen anywhere better,you really did show genuine care for us all,you made a hard day a little bit easier to deal with,thank you to all your staff..I keep telling all my friends about your wonderful pub.

My partner and I have always loved The Spring Grove for Sunday roasts and eagerly anticipate every visit. As big roast enthusiasts, we’ve tried many, but nothing ever compared to The Spring Grove—until yesterday. Unfortunately, we were heartbroken to notice a decline in quality. The chicken, once beautifully stuffed and wrapped in pancetta, has been replaced with plain chicken. The delicious vegetable purée has been swapped for basic cabbage and peas, and we were given just two potatoes each—disappointing for the price. We know that they change the menus between seasons, but it seems to have been made more basic this winter. The atmosphere also felt off, with a nearby group of children climbing barefoot on furniture, which was distracting and unhygienic. While we understand it’s a family-friendly venue, some gentle intervention from staff to maintain a respectful environment would have made a big difference as these kids were definitely old enough to be wearing shoes and it's not nice to see their feet where people eat! That being said, staff are always stretched on a Sunday so they took a little while to give us the bill. As a nice touch they took our drinks off the final bill which was very kind of them as they are always so nice and hospitable. Another reason I am so sad to have to write this review! We’re sharing this feedback out of love for The Spring Grove, in hopes it can return to its former glory. We’d be so sad to stop coming to what has always been a favourite spot.

I had the best leaving party at The Spring Grove in Kingston, which accommodated all 90 of us comfortably. From the off, Jack and the team were really helpful with planning the event - great communication and all the right information being given so we knew what to expect on the night. The staff were amazing on the night too - so friendly and welcoming to everyone and it really made the night special. We ordered platters of food which catered to all dietary requirements (everyone was saying how delicious the food was) and the venue itself was homely, well designed and perfectly suited the theme of my party. I was even able to put up a few decorations and move the tables to personalise the space. Massive thanks to the team, it was a party I will always remember!

Jack and the team hosted my birthday party last weekend. The booking process and communication was seamless, the advice for food was spot on, the food itself was delicious and the service was excellent. I hosted 60 people in the area at the back and everyone has said how great the venue was. Highly recommend the Spring Grove if you are looking for a place, and thanks again to Jack and his team - Nothing was too much trouble .

This place really has the wow factor. Came up to London to catch up with an old school friend of mine, to chew the fat and enjoy a few drinks - generally decompress from a busy work week. Fantastic experience; talked through each beer, whilst being looked after with friendly and humorous staff. To be honest I was made to feel like this was my local! Ended up staying far longer than expected and didn’t want to leave. Ps. Recommend a sausage roll, woof!

We had a very enjoyable meal at The Spring Grove, choosing typical Pub grub - sausage and mash and ham, egg and chips. The food was well prepared and presented and enjoyed by all. The ham in the ham, egg and chips turned out to be a very substantial ham hock that my friend enjoyed very much. The servers were attentive and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. We would return again.

Great renovation at the Spring Grove, always a warm, welcoming and clean pub. The blonde land lady was lovely as are the two new editions Casper and Ollie. Great service and seem to enjoy the working environment a lot - nice to see from this other side of the bar. Also great outdoor area for a pub garden 👍💪

Came for a family dinner on Friday, nice looking pub, had table service from the Canadian guy Joe, managed to handle our picky order quickly despite it being packed!

Have been here a few times, always with excellent service and a great atmosphere. Staff member Clio also allowed me to try some beers before purchase incase I didn’t like them which was very much appreciated.

Me and my family came here this afternoon and we were served my Charlie, she was really helpful with recommendations and thanks to her we got to taste the delicious Hamcock. We will be back!

I decided to get out of the bussle of Kingston today being a Saturday it's usually packed. Go to the Spring Grove I thought quite and peaceful. It didn't disappoint. This pub has been a main stay of our family for a long time. It's had its ups and downs the food hasn't been great. But today it did so where praise is due I'll give it. I had a pint and sausages n mash. And as a treat I had apple crumble with custard and pudding wine. Beautiful and tasty 😋 just what the doctor ordered.

I’d call it the best pub ever. Yes, you heard me. The best pub ever. The attentive staff amazed me. An ‘Ollie’ looked after us. Very good. Handsome too! Makes a mean lime and soda. Casper brought me my food. He placed it down very gently which I appreciated (I won’t explain why). I highly recommend.

Catered for our party of nearly thirty with ease. Great communication, brilliant service and incredibly tasty food (all served hot and plentifully!) Made the occasion all the more special. Will return for many future Roasts (but also keen to sample the rest of the menu!)

The worst and most expensive sandwich I have had in a long time. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly but the sandwich was rubbish. I had 'Pitchfork cheddar and home made tomato jam'. It cost £9.50. The cheese wasn't fresh, neither was the white bread it came in ( slightly dry ) My friend had the roast beetroot sandwich and hers was equally as unappetising as mine. I couldn't recommend either of those sandwiches. Very poor.

We booked this lovely pub for a private funeral event. The staff were so wonderful and helpful. Jack Stone (the manager) was a pleasure to deal with. It is a lovely, clean and well run establishment, serving fantastic food with a brilliant & friendly atmosphere. A hidden gem 💎

Just had a weird experience at the Grove, an hour ago. I love this pub, but I have just walked in, stood at the beer pumps and watched the bar tender talk at the other end of the bar to the chef and a supplier for a full five minutes simply ignoring that a customer was waiting. I walked out and no one noticed…..

We went down for the Summer Supper Club last night and we were massively impressed! Food was absolutely delicious alongside the wines provided with each meal. Also very much appreciated that there was a vegan option for every course (you get 4 courses) and each tasted incredible. Would highly recommend and will 100% be booking for the Winter menu if you continue with the Supper Club!! Thanks for a great evening!

We all enjoyed our food ,everyone said how full they were so that was good. We sat in the garden which was great nice sunny day.

Went for Sunday lunch and wasn't disappointed. A little pricey but the food was good, duck fat potatoes were awesome. Need a run now to work out off now.

Excellent Pub. This is a really splendid pub, run by a young team of friendly and outgoing staff. Really welcoming. We were a mixed group of beer & wine drinkers, beers, Aperol’s, non-alcoholic beer drinkers & kids. Something for everybody, including milk for a toddler. It’s a substantial property with, evidently from the historic photos on the walls, a long history as a focal point for the area. Most of the original architectural features have been retained and so it’s a comfortable & charming presence. Out back there is an excellent pub garden. Wheelchair / pushchair accessible. The top zone of the garden is covered by a very healthy & productive vine which seems to love the location. Inside the walls have some eclectic & really interesting art & photos. Genuinely worth a look. And in between the art are some decent TV’s unobtrusively showing, during my visit, the Olympics. All in all, a very happy & comfortably pub. First class.

Thank you for an enjoyable evening at Spring Grove. Our waitress Mia was absolutely fantastic and I hope senior management are aware of her work ethic. It was busy and she seemed to be the only one looking after the dining area, she did a fantastic job always enthusiastic and attentive.

A very smart pub with a warm welcome. Brilliant food. I can recommend the Bakewell tart. We will definitely be back.

Recent refurb is great. Lovely garden area, food on the pricier gastro pub side but quality makes it worth while. Staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful. Lots of tvs for sport when showing. Dog friendly and great atmosphere. Highly recommend the roast dinner! Love this place and have been back multiple times.

Had a leaving party here, and it's such a lovely place to have a gathering. The staff are amazing and work really hard, and the pub itself its gorgeous, especially the decking and garden area.

This was my first time eating at the spring grove and it was lovely! The staff (particularly Mia and Charlotte) were excellent, so welcoming and helpful throughout our time there. I had the vegetarian burger got my meal and as a veggie I have to say it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. They also had a wide range of non- alcoholic beers which were all brilliant and something I don’t see at many pubs. Thank you for having us!

This has become a go to place for Sunday lunch and drinks in the garden. Our visit this Sunday was excellent, greeted by all the team lead by Mia and Charley. The meal was excellent, both the roast and the small menu. Great family atmosphere and prompt service.

Jack and the team looked after a group of 10 of us for my birthday on Friday evening. After what sounded like a particularly busy day, they were welcoming and provided great service all evening. They had even reserved me a table both inside and outside in case the weather was bad, which it was! The food was great as always and there was a fun atmosphere in the pub as everyone watched the football. We feel even more lucky to have this pub down the road from us and wouldn't hesitate to take a group of people there again. Thank you, we had a great night!

Visited Spring Grove for the second time today and had great service from Charlie. Lovely interior, good food, nice atmosphere. An all round excellent place to spend a long afternoon with friends.

We had a very lovely wedding celebration at the Spring Grove. All the staff has been very accommodating and helpful all through out the planning and on the day of the event, especially Jack. Our guests enjoyed the food and the ambiance of the place.

We’ve just had an amazing Sunday Lunch here! It was our first visit and expect to return many times! The pub is pristine, bright and stylish. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. There is an amazing garden out the back where we sat and ate under the vines. Food was spot on too! What a find!
