We went here on sunday for a roast. Great place to go dog friendly as well so the pooch came too. Its nice to have found somewhere that serves the roast in the evening as well as lunch time. Could not faullt it. Gravy is to die for. We had the three roast choice, the lamb and the wellington. Great meal all round although the amb could have been left in the oven longer till more tender.. (They also have the most amazing ribs) alas they had run out of sticky toffee pudding, so we had to settle for brownies and ice cream.

Maybe our Sunday visit (25th February) was just unlucky, but it was dirty there, rude silent service (like literally no words to you back when you order, they just throw the food on your uncleaned after previous guests table silently), long awaiting time in a semi-empty pub among semi-broken furniture. There were at least 2 bartenders, but there were never at the bar. They also have a cool vinyl records player, but there was no music, they never turned the record over while we were there. Quite disappointing.

A very disappointing experience altogether. On entering the pub I said hello to a member of the team. She couldn’t muster hello back but told me instead that she was writing a sign. We sat outside because it was full. We took a friend from overseas as he’d been before and enjoyed good food and beer. We ordered a burger, hot dog and beef Bourguignon. On arrival the fries with burger and hot dog were tepid and hotdog been cooked previously . After the beef Bourguignon arrived we then waited a little longer for cutlery. Instantly I notice that the beef B was not hot and the mash that accompanied it not hot enough. The waitress who delivered the food was then stood on a table near us with an vape in hand and when she finally got down I got her attention to tell her the beef and mash were not hot enough. My friends were not bothered about sending back their fries. My meal finally came back after a few mins in a microwave. The beef was like a regular stew with the odd mushroom and lots of carrots. The mash was awful and seemed like a none qualified kitchen porter had just squashed some lumpy potatoes forgetting the butter and cream/ milk that would have made the creamy mash as described on the menu. The staff really don’t care and are casual and apathetic. On reflection we wish we’d not bothered. We headed to the Spring Grove where the welcome was warm and menu amazing.

Love this pub. The vegan choices on the menu are well thought out rather than after thoughts, and the no -alcoholic selection is full of drinks that make you still feel like a grown up without risk of hangover. All ages are welcomed here, as are dogs! It's thoroughly lovely, and lots of people seem to know one another. It's a community pub. Love it.

Great selection of cask ales and lovely bar staff. It can get very noisy when it's busy as it's a relatively small pub with little soft furnishings. Best for a midweek drink when it feels more chilled out and you can hear the music. Food seems to have dropped in quality lately which is a shame.

It really galls me to give such a bad review but one of the best pubs in Kingston has become one of the worst. The food is AWFUL. We went 2 weeks ago and my chicken burger (an old favourite) was terrible - they had battered the chicken like it was a piece of fish. Th me max and cheese had been made with big pasta like rigatoni, the sauce was watery and the top burnt. Hoping it was a one-off, we went tonight and ordered a “normal” double-cheeseburger. There was only a single patty in the burger and it was tiny. We complained and the excuse was “they had a different butcher and the burgers were twice the size”. I’m sorry but it was quite clearly a single, small patty and totally unacceptable that the wait staff lied when they could have just said they were low on burgers. We ended up sending it back which meant we went hungry and the pub lost money so no-one wins. I love a great pub and have been here for many years, so it really does sadden me that I have to recommend people don’t come here any more. The pub needs to either look itself in the mirror as it’s not currently deserving of customers money.

This is otherwise a great pub but the food has recently gone downhill and the chef is stupidly stubborn. Ordered double cheeseburgers this evening which turned up with only a tiny single patty - and despite being obviously misadvertised, the chef refused to accept that a single small burger patty was not the same as a double. Clearly maths not their strong suit and we ended up returning the meal rather than finding a happy middleground, a lose-lose situation which we would rather have avoided. Also ordered a side of chicken wings with a blue cheese sauce - which turned out not to be blue cheese but nothing more than mayo. The food here used to be good, but my last couple of visits have been so disappointing. I get that these are tough times for everyone and the pub may be making some cutbacks, but I’d be ok with it if the menu actually reflected the reality of the food being served - unfortunately at the moment, it doesn’t.

We booked a 5:00 pm Sunday roast at the Albion for after our visit to Hampton Court Palace based on online reviews. We had visited Kingston Upon Thames before as a little break from the middle of London and enjoyed it, and we also figured that we’d be eating with locals versus a bunch of tourists like us. We really liked it! One of us had the half chicken roast and one of us had the trio of meats roast, which were all tasty, especially with the added sauces. The accompaniments were really good (mmm, cauliflower cheese…) and we appreciated all the veggies. We got there a bit earlier than our reservation so had a chance to enjoy a cider and a chat with the local gent sitting next to us before our table was ready. As expected, at dinner we were surrounded by extended families (and a couple doggies hanging out by their owners' feet) enjoying their Sunday roasts, which was delightful. (As a side note, you order food at the bar vs waiting for a server to come and take your order.) All in all we had an awesome time and an excellent pub meal, and we would highly recommend the Albion.

The food was ABYSMAL. Looking at other people’s pictures I feel sorely cheated so maybe we got a substitute chef or they were ridiculously hungover but my dad’s roast chicken was so dry it was inedible. I had to send back my veggie burger because the bun was so stale and burnt I couldn’t even bite it, it was like rusk. The second bun was still stale (but at least I could bite it) drowning in mayo (I literally scraped off a tablespoon worth but there was still too much inside) and then my chips were raw on the inside. My partners burger bun was so soggy it stuck to the baking paper. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a bad food experience across the board. Atrocious that they’re charging restaurant prices for the worst meal I’ve ever had. The staff seemed overwhelmed and ordering took ages. One bartender was friendly but the other just seemed annoyed. It’s a shame because their drinks are good. So only go for drinks!

Not one of our better experiences here (see my previous review) On the whole the food was substandard. Although my hot dog was nice, the accompanying fries were greasy and had a 'charred' taste, the side of onion rings were greasy & soggy (you could see it on the the surface). My wife's chicken tenders were also overcooked and her fries arrived late ( the waitress said something about a fryer issue) BUT when they did come they were MILES nicer than the ones I'd been served. No one came to ask how our meal was until right at the end, so it wasn't until then that I had chance to very politely point out the substandard fries & onion rings. The waitress simply said sorry and said she wished she was the chef. I said that if someone had checked in with us earlier Id have sent them back but that it was now too late. She said sorry again, and that was that.... we'd already paid and no offer to compensate was made, which if it was then this -ve review would't have been posted, as I understand that things can & do go awry from time to time, but it's how you put them right that counts. So, very disappointing guys. One last thing, be aware that the fact smoking is allowed on the tables immediately outside the open back door it probably will affect you meal if there's a slight breeze, smoke was wafting in and that is something that needs reviewing IMO.

During my stay in Kingston, this was my favourite pub. It sits just off the town centre, half way along the edge of Fairfield Recreation Ground. Definitely worth the few minutes walk to discover. I think it's part of a small chain of pubs called the Big Smoke Brew co. Well, they know what they're doing, I'd say. They had a good few beers and ciders to choose from. I resisted the ciders after a couple of tastes, as I felt the emphasis was on sweet or flavoured ones. But I explored some great ales during my afternoon session, including a dark mild called Burning Sky and a stout called Cocow Milk. But what I liked about this pub was its friendliness. I fell in with some easygoing locals around the front window. Also the staff were chatty and amiable. When the barmaid's shift finished, she even went round saying goodbye to everyone. The jolly guy who took over was a fount of quirky opinions, for example that he drinks dark beer when the weather's dark and citrussy beer when it's bright. Much love to the Albion.

Lovely pub well worth searching out, enjoyed the Big Smoke beers ( Lager & Lantern Tree Bitter that was very good) we ordered chunky chips and they were delicious.

The most dog friendly staff, offering water and treats. Found plenty of seating on a weekend. We were captivated by their Sunday roast sharer served in a giant Yorkshire pudding. While the dish impresses in concept and presentation, it disappoints in quality and flavour. Not terrible but about average.

Looks like a great locals pub. Excellent choice of cask and keg ales. Friendly staff.

Six stars!!! Lovely Sunday Lunch served with a smile. Cosy surroundings, with an amazing range of ales. The dogs were happy too. Food was really well cooked and very generous portions. We will definitely be back.

Run by the people who brought Surbiton the truly excellent The Antelope. The Albion has proven to be a brilliant pub since it was refurbished in 2016 - relaxed decor, spacious garden area, very dog friendly, good food with excellent offers (eg: 2 for 1 pizzas on Monday, burgers on Tuesday), lovely garden (including gin distillery) & great, evolving range of guest beers. Perhaps less good for bitter drinkers (a consistently good couple of options would definitely be appreciated). And great to see Lucky Saint on tap in March 23 (long may it stay!) But we like. A lot. And our dog loves it even more.
