Totally thrilled with our well presented, perfectly cooked delicious meal. Thank you Connor as this was the best pub meal we have had in a long time. Cheerful staff and beautifully decorated pub. Highly recommend.

Fabulous pub. We visited on a Friday as the kids were hungry. Food was varied and great quality all round. Staff are lovely too.

Had the most relaxing lunch at the Spread Eagle today to celebrate my 80th birthday. We sat in front of a welcoming fire with lovely Halloween decorations around and had a very tasty and unhurried meal. Claire and Alex looked after us perfectly and made us feel very welcome and we came home feeling really special! Highly recommended for any occasion!

This is a clean, warm friendly pub with great food. Landlord couldn’t do enough for us, much better service than we receive down South, even made us look at houses in the area!!!! lol

We come here loads . Our waitress was amazing and so attentive . However was given chicken in my vegan curry and felt like I was going to be sick. I don't know what happened in the kitchen but it is disgusting. If it was an allergy i would be dead . The manager provided a meal voucher but never came to speak to us

Had a lovely family meal for my brothers birthday. There were 9 of us including two young children and a dog. Couldn’t fault it, food was lovely service was fantastic, there was even a family quiz on, which we won …. Added bonus. A lovely touch was that they gave my brother a drink on the house. My Wife and I had lunch at The Spread Eagle. We both had a Burger with Skinny Fries and Coleslaw. The food was served quickly, it was very tasty and our waitress , Alex, was friendly and efficient and checked we had everything we needed. The Spread Eagle itself was clean and tidy and the landlord was polite and friendly. I would visit again if I was in Lymm in the future.

We are regular visitors to The Spread Eagle and always have a lovely time whenever we go. The pub is centrally situated in the heart of Lymm village. It is a large pub with several different rooms but has a warm, friendly feel throughout. The pub has a traditional style menu and is reasonably priced. The food is always well cooked, nicely presented and big portions. Very good value for money and just what we need after a long week at work. The pub hosts a few different events throughout the week and our favourite is the Friday night pub quiz. All of the staff are friendly, warm and welcoming but the real star of the pub is Clare. Clare creates all of the pub’s wonderfully themed window displays which change every few weeks and are always stunning. Clare is friendly, personable and really attentive. She always makes sure we get a good table and she knows our drinks order and brings them over without us even needing to tell her what we want! She is cheerful, pleasant and really attentive and it is this high level of service that makes an evening at The Spread Eagle such a pleasant experience. Nothing is too much trouble for her. I would highly recommend a visit to The Spread Eagle for anyone wanting to experience a friendly, traditional village pub

Called in here for lunch on a bitterly cold but bright day. We had been walking for 2 hours and had another 2 to go down the Trans Pennine Trail. The pub and the welcome from the staff were lovely and warm and the real fire burning in the restaurant was perfect. Food was excellent, pan fried sea bass definitely recommended. Service was spot on too. Just what we needed to re-energise and complete the walk. Definitely coming back.

I’ve been here a few times, including for my birthday meal, and keep going back because it’s a cosy, friendly and unpretentious pub with an extremely well kept and decent pint. Seen some of the reviews on here and yes, on one occasion they clearly had a staff shortage but they worked hard to keep up. I always find the staff very pleasant and welcoming. The cheese and onion pie is the best thing in my opinion. A very good, solid, generous slice of cheesy decadence. My family members speak very well of the classic roast including one discerning Uncle who can’t abide tough meat. The fact that he gave it the thumbs up speaks volumes. The Halloween and Christmas decorations were brilliant, remarkable! When we go to Lymm we regularly think we’ll try somewhere else for a change but I gravitate back to this pub, it has a certain charming quality.

We found this cosy little pub on a walk through Lymm whilst visiting family and my oh my, are we glad we did! It’s a hidden Cheshire jewel. Food, staff, drinks, decoration - everything was fantastic. Highly recommend the sea bass 👍

Cold food. The young lad who served us was rushed off his feet and did the best he could so didn’t complain at the time. Chicken burger had no mayo, no salsa and no dill pickle, basically a chicken fillet on a dry bun with a slice of tomato and a piece of lettuce. Won’t be back.

Myself & my family moved to Lymm earlier this year and decided to book for Christmas day out for the first time. We rang up to enquire in July & it was already nearly fully booked so we waited on the list and wow we know why! The staff were working so hard but from the second we arrived we were greeted so warmly The food was delicious, hot tasty and we didn't feel rushed at any point. We had visited the pub a couple of times and each time the decoration it seems is changed seasonally ?? and changes often and the festive decorations certainly didn't disappoint. I would definitely recommend giving this little gem a visit at some point if your ever in Lymm. Can't wait to visit again and have already got our names down for next Christmas

The pub is beautiful but the service is absolutely terrible... three dishes of the menu they didnt have, they gave is all scratch (with pen) menus... and the dishes two ask from that menu.... they didn't have. The food took around 40 minutes to come out...only starters... the drink, as well i had to change the drinks as well....

Moved to Lymm in March this year and have used this pub on several occasions since then so much so in September booked a table for xmas eve as we knew it would be busy , on the day phoned to confirm booking no problem, however when we arrived it's a very busy evening I accept but they were grossly under staffed the table was filthy they had no chilled wine and no ice the beer at the table was served in a plastic glass although our 2 soft drinks were in glass pint pots booked for 7pm and was told food be at least an hour so didn't bother waiting, so soon learned this isn't the place for Christmas eve but the good thing about living in Lymm there is plenty of pubs so I doubt we will visit this establishment again any time of the year, I also made them aware of our dissatisfaction but they were not too concerned.

We had booked for a family meal many weeks ago. Unfortunately there seemed to be huge issues this weekend meaning that tables weren't ready, ordering was slow and the food took forever and came out in dribs and drabs and wasn't very good. We were told that there were major staffing issues causing problems and they were good enough to knock the price of the food off the bill that was sent back (inedible) or we didn't even receive. To their credit, they apologised and even knocked the drinks off the bill as a gesture of goodwill. Felt sorry for the staff who were trying their best in the midst of all this and complaints from other tables, but it would have been better to mention issues at the outset, as we would have just gone elsewhere. I would have given it 1 star if it wasn't for staff trying so hard.

Dreadful !!!!! Would not recommend!!! We booked well in advance with it being in December one of our group is gluten intolerant and they were made aware of this at booking The pub was decorated nicely for Christmas however the seating had huge holes and rips in it. Only 2 of us had starters both prawn cocktail and as one was gluten free they just didn’t bother with bread! On the main course for the gluten free they just missed out anything that contained gluten and for pudding one was the most transparent piece of Christmas pudding you have ever seen and they didn’t bother serving the other one!!! When we asked for the bill they didn’t take off the £30 deposit Don’t waste your money stay away
