I’ve know Spokes Cycles was in the general rural Hertfordshire area within the Knebworth / Welwyn / Codicote vicinity for some time. I had seen the occasional sign advertising a cycling workshop and coffee stop. Following some good feedback from friends I decided to seek out this cafe and for me it ticks every box as a rustic rural relaxing venue. Obviously there is a cyclist theme and they can fix your bike as you enjoy a bite and beverage. I’ve been here a number of times now in just a couple of months and can recommend for the casual visitor, families with kids, cyclists, dogs and dog walkers and even runners. Thoroughly recommend this charming little place in the countryside.

Great coffee, impressive cakes. Very friendly and extremely helpful staff. They have animals and basketball hoop. The only negative thing I can say is that the outdoor chairs need to be replaced. However, some cushions would sort the problem easily.

I've been here many times, but not reviewed it. In again today, they helped me with a bike mechanical issue, quickly, efficiently and in a very friendly manner....thanks guys. The cafe is built for cyclists, cakes and coffee all very good. Busy at the weekend, delightful mid week. A gem.

Great place to cycle to for coffee and cake - expensive but worth the treat after a long ride . Sat outside on a sunny afternoon and watched the goats . Shop for cycle stuff and good selection of cakes etc. had the fires lit which was a nice touch .

Great coffee, tasty toasties and excellent bike workshop with really helpful and knowledgeable mechanics. It's the perfect stop on a ride and all cyclists will feel right at home among fellow enthusiasts, classic cycling memorabilia and live EuroSport so no Grand Tour moment is missed. Highly recommended,

Lovely little stop off for coffee and snack in the Hertfordshire countryside whether you are a fan of cycling or not ! The guys work incredibly hard to get the orders out promptly , it’s dog friendly and there’s a little mini zoo out back with a terrace to enjoy the sun. If you prefer, inside is an eclectic mix of cycling memorabilia with slouchy sofas, and industrial style tables and chairs with a couple of wood burners for heat.

Stopped here today for the first time . Kitchen not up and running yet but a staff were good but drinks and cake available. Liked it and will visit again, though, needed a bit more banana in the banana cake.

Lovely spot to stop on a walk or bike ride, super friendly staff and lovely hot chocolate brownies! Covered area outside to sit and enjoy watching the animals, pygmy goats, shetland ponies and an emu! I have not been at the weekend and I imagine its much busier but its lovely in the week. Good choice of hot and cold drinks including beer and cider, homemade cakes and toasties. Highly recommended

I like Spokes and have been using it on and off since it first started. I was there last Sunday about 11am. I stopped counting customer numbers at 50! Forget social distancing and be prepared to get close to everyone else. Poor covid precautions. Service is slow, and quality of food pretty average. However the personnel are all very friendly and helpful and the ambiance is nice. Very much a cyclists cafe and great for admiring other bikes and chatting with people. Best however to avoid busy times and weekends especially.

It's great! Odd location just out of Codicote, but every cyclist for miles around knows that it is here. Quirky to say the least. You sit at the rear staring at rare farm animals grazing just the other side of the fence. Garden furniture not very new or very comfy. Average covid awareness and food offering is equally average. Other cycling cafes have much better food and for me to keep coming here this should be improved. It's pretty busy at weekends, less so in the week. It will be interesting to see how it works in the colder weather.

Stumbled (excuse the pun) whilst walking around the Codicote area. Spoke Cycle CC Is primarily a cyclists pit stop offering bike repairs and (apparently) high end bespoke bike build services. All very specialist and a bit outside my area of expertise as I’m primarily a walker! It does however have a lovely cafe serving excellent coffee, Belgium beers as well as great toasted sandwiches and homemade cakes. The welcome was warm despite me not being a cyclist and the staff were happy to offer advice on walking routes etc in the area. Spoke is unique and a great find. Not an extensive menu, but a great place to rest the boots and recharge. Highly recommended

Decided to ride out with a buddy. Having encountered hills, headwinds, crosswinds, and a whole host of other stuff, Spokes was a nice resting point. The toastie was absolutely awesome, and the staff were really nice. I would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area. Oh - they fix bikes too.

I don't have too many issues with the food served here, but the value for money seemed amiss compared to the quality. If you're staying at the hotel this isn't a bad place for dinnder.

We went for lunch on my partner's birthday and from the welcome we received when we walked in, to the friendly goodbye when we left, everything was fantastic. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and excellent value for money. My new favourite pub.

The food was nice but there was no salt and pepper on the table no lemon wipes to clean fingers after. Staff was around to seat you and take your order but would not look at you after so could not signal for the bill. Managed to pay at the bar and ask to box up what we could not eat.
