After visiting the attached (free) Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum, we decided to have some lunch. It was very busy and, although we were warned that we would have to wait for our food, it wasn't as long as the friendly, helpful, chatty staff said it would be. There's a good choice on the menu of good, comforting food. The portion sizes were more than ample and excellent value for money. If you're visiting the museum can certainly recommend the Spitfire Cafe for food and drinks.

What a great find next door to a free attraction then honestly priced good food what more could you want. Service was great even though the place was uber busy. Polite at all time pets and children friendly.

Tremendously great value & friendly , I was doing the spitfire simulator so over-ran on time but they kept cooking long enough for us to have a great lunch. VERY dog / children friendly and a great find

We haven't been to the Spitfire Café for a meal for a few years. We tend to like to travel some distance prior to eating. This time, we wanted to eat somewhere nearby first as we had friends down from London who we wanted to go site-seeing with later. The staff were welcoming and the whole atmosphere was friendly. I was surprised they allowed folk to sit in their vacant seats while they waited for the museum to open at 10am. A nice touch. Everyone, but me ordered a set breakfast, whereas I like to do a pick-and-mix whenever possible. Everyone's meal was cooked perfectly, the products fresh and of a good quality. The bread was fresh and thickly cut. My breakfast was very good, the eggs lovely, the sausages of superior quality and the fried potatoes scrummy - I'm a potato foodie. We all agreed it was a delicious meal and we realised, we should use this café more often. Won't make that mistake again. Its on our doorstep after all. Point in their favour - I left my scarf there by mistake and they managed to track me down and return it to me. Such honesty always gets ten stars from me.

Hubby and I just popped into the cafe for breakfast and were most impressed. Great choice of dishes with excellent customer service. The food was delicious and not at all over priced. We’ll definitely be back again soon.

We really enjoyed our food at the Spitfire cafe. We had the chicken bacon and avocado salad, Messerschmitt burger, a panin and a sandwich. Portions were good and substantial.

To be fair to the cafe, we've been before and have had good quality hot food there, the chef is good. However, we are getting fed up being told too often that only sandwiches are available and no hot food. This happened again yesterday, 2nd August 2023, some sort of electrical problem this time. Chef wasn't available last time. It's put me off going again as they are so inconsistent. Ended up in the pub down the road.

The Spitfire cafe has something for all ages and appetites – from British traditional like sausage and mash or gammon and ham to paninis, sandwiches, cod and chips or burgers. From hot meals to snacks, from bite size to plates for hungry airmen or high chair seats for little ‘uns. We had driven a long way to experience the Spitfire simulator in the museum and were very hungry. At first glance some items on the menu looked a bit like London prices. However, what we thought were ‘snacks’ like Panini turned out to be a beautifully presented, delicious, really enjoyable whole meal. The home-made coleslaw was so good we asked for some to take home. This time I had the tuna mayo jacket potato with side salad but next time I may try the hummus and pita or Tempura prawns. There was a great selection of proper hot drinks like Latte, hot chocolate and cappuccino but they also had iced latte and soft drinks. The money goes to a good cause (the Aircraft museum) but I’d gladly pay those process for the great food and friendly, attentive service. Brilliant! Even tables outside for warmer weather and do friendly too. From other comments on here it looks like it’s being run by a new team. It was our first visit and We and I’d definitely recommend it. Yummy!

The old Merlin cafe was wonderful, unfortunately now under new ownership as the “Spitfire cafe” such a shame. Limited menu. Service very slow 40 mins plus. Food was very disappointing and poor quality. Sad after years of visiting the Merlin Cafe we won’t be revisiting the new Spitfire cafe.

Felicity’s Cafe at Quex in Birchington is an absolute gem. Picture this—you roll up to this quaint little spot, and from the second you walk in, it’s got that vibe. Friendly, warm, like you’re part of the family. We’re talking fresh, local ingredients that just hit differently. The coffee? Smooth. The cakes? Sweet but not too sweet. Service? Spot on. The folks here treat you right, not in some fake, scripted way. You can tell they care, like they want every dish to be a hit, and let me tell you—it is. You want cozy, comfort, and quality all wrapped up in one? Felicity’s Cafe nails it.

My friend and I went here for the first time on a weekday lunchtime and found seating downstairs. As all busy upstairs and we didn’t want to sit outside or in the covered walkway to the cinema area. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and coffee. I had prawn and avocado sandwich on brown bread with salad and Kent Crisps my friend had smoked Salmon and cream cheese bagel that also came with salad and crisps. The cakes looked very nice but we were a bit full to try them probably will in our next visit. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back!
