Great pub, unfortunately lots of vaping going on inside and bouncers even chatting to them!! The table in question even brought own drinks in and put empties under the table!

Fantastic pub. Guys in there cannot do enough for you, extremely friendly. Sunday Carvery is amazing, left some of my beer as I was so full up! Great pub of an evening too, live music and great atmosphere.

Nice place to busy for me as there was a school reunion on the group was very good though

It’s opposite the pier, so perfectly placed. It has a big beer garden out the front. Inside there are all sorts of nooks and crannies for you to get lost in with your pint.

Nice pub, love the design. We had food, drinks & stayed for some entertainment. Staff were friendly. A couple of our beers were flat but we were aware there were some new staff training. Gets very busy of an evening when a band is on. The queue for the bar was so long we didn't bother getting another drink. We left early. However during the daytime it was lovely and the food was nice too. So basing my review off of the daytime visits we did. There's a few pubs along the front and we visited this one the most.

Been here 4 times in a week. First visit a male and female were working the young male was really bad and looked like he didn’t want to be there. The rest of the visits were great service. Can’t have food due to allergies - the manager apparently tells his team if people come in for allergies tell them not to eat here…wow

First time to have a carvery, very impressed with quality and selections of meats and veg. Was nice to see a young team working the kitchen too. Definitely recommend and will visit again.

Lovely olde worlde pub with lots of memorabilia in. Just had drinks so cannot comment on the food but worth going to. From the outside you expect it to he modern inside but it's not.

Went Sunday 17th March for St Patrick's day music event between 4pm and 6.30pm. The group Bow Creek was spot on with genre of music and created a great atmosphere, so everyone present really enjoyed themselves. Highly recommended place for service and atmosphere.

Dog Friendly, amazing carvery, and smiley staff! Amazing for a spot of lunch, fresh food and a place for a family day out. Couldn’t fault them, perfection!

Food was really good! Massive burger, great home made coleslaw. Nice little nooks... Looks like a pretty grotto this time of year. Highly recommend!

Exceptional! Just sat and had a few drinks followed by a Sunday carvery. And what can I say…… WOW. Everyone loves a Sunday roast but this is something else. Exceptional food and tastes incredible. Excellent food, atmosphere, staff and experience. Thank you team. Well worth a visit.

Excellent place to go, me and my work mates go on a Friday or Saturday most weeks and love the live bands they have and the drinks are reasonably priced, it's one the best night life places to go in Paignton and there is hardly any issues, the staff are very friendly and remember who you are if you go regularly and the same for other patrons.

My favourite pub in Paignton. Good food. Good drinks. Amazing atmosphere and live music.

Wetherspoon closure for renovations caused my visit here and will return.

Perfect community hub atmosphere. Always something to do. Best and most exciting bands in the bay and best tastiest food. Sunday carvery is exceptional. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. This venue welcomes all ages and caters for all genre's, it's oldie world chic will charm your socks off. Highly recommended.

Great bar. I could say this is easily the number one venue in Paignton. Drinks aren't cheap but I'd say they're semi-reasonable if we were compare to other places at todays prices. Live music performances are often played here- me & my friends had an epic time!

The carvery is the best. I had several and all fantastic. The staff are all polite and helpful . ITS Great that the woodburners are kept going.

Friendly staff. Food excellent,,good portion size make sure your hungry ! Sat upstairs and looked out of window towards the sea. So relaxing with music in background. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

First visit, although friends recommend, it was a bit dingy,the bar server had an attitude, like we should not of gone there, but the food was really good.

Lovely clean pub. Lots of outdoor seating . Nice barmaid . Good selection of drinks . Will visit again when down this way

The only decent late night venue in town. Fast food generally. Not the best drinks selection, including not having the World's best sort drink!

This pub on paignton seafront provided us with the best carvery we've had at a seaside seaside resort.service ,drinks food and prices all excellent. Even though they were very busy sorting out the flooded ground floor bar Area, we were there again the next evening for drinks and the. live entertainment in the ground floor bar.The staff had obviously worked very hard to reopen this only the next day .Really enjoyed both our visits to this very well run seafront pub that have a great team working there.Thankyou all,would highly recommend.

the spot great for outside drinks with views of seafront, food a little over rated and quite expensive for what you actually got eg mini steak in a baguette with crisps circa £12 no salad or onions etc bit disappointing but atmosphere was good

It's alright as a pub, nicely decorated interior, quite charming, but a pub's only as good as its clientele... Given its location, this one seems to attract itinerant tourists, mostly, which is fine if you're one yourself, but not if you are looking for a 'local'.

Great kareoke atmosphere, nice staff, very pleaseant door staff, helped with taxi and very understanding about us having children upto the watershed.

Food was cooked fresh and very nice, was abit if a wait but worth the wait burger was cooked how I asked for it, kids food was very nice she reasonably priced

Well located and spacious pub right by the sea front and play area. Really good food, all well priced and friendly staff. Cozy and interesting pub inside with lots of character and for hotter days there is plenty of space outside. Also offers regular entertainment each day.

Large beachfront pub that puts on some great events for holidaymakers & locals - live music, karaoke, quizzes - but it's expensive for Paignton & it often takes AGES to get served at the understaffed bar. Pretty nice food, mind.

Absolutely brilliant atmosphere, great live bands, my only critism would be ran out out of pinot grigio (Thursday) so had vodka and coke, had to take back as coke was completely flat. Member of staff said it would be the same if she did it again, not really the answer I wanted to hear.

I've been going to this pub for over 40 years . Always been one of my favourites especially for live music, DJ and the dancefloor, also the occasional televised sporting events inside and outside . Great position on the sea front close to the town centre.

Great atmosphere in this place. Definitely got some history to this place. Loads of beaches outside for seating as well as giant brolleys covering the area. Usually got bands on during the summer and it get very popular. Service is fast and staff are constantly keeping the place clean and tidy. Got a great kids play area that they follow a course. Challenging for some but good fun. Parking on the roadside as well as pay and display behind the place.

Disgusting staff ! One rude disrespectful girl behind the bar can only presume she carries on with security as she ruined our family night and they supported her , happy to serve my hubby my sons when one didn’t have ID he come to get it out of my bag I went to to the bar with him and said oh he’s defo over 18 I’m his mum she then refused to serve either of us I said what have I said wrong for no reason she kicked off so so weird she then followed us outside ranting like a crazy women to my hubby aswell having a go at so many people who Complained about her attitude towards us she clearly needs mental health support shame she ruins people’s nights with her stinking attitude wouldn’t mind but she was flirting with me Sons only two mins before both my sons rejected as they have partners Wonderful at pub such a. Weird night so so strange ruined by staff get rid before punters stop coming

Great pub nicely decorated and friendly very hard working staff. Has entertainment on most nights Food over done burger rolls terrible completely toasted dry and stale. Think they are frozen. They need a chef like in Hyde Dendy nextdoor where all food is amazing. Pub clean and has 3 bars. Very busy on weekends and roudy in peek season. Younger generation with a few older customers. Children and dogs welcome until 10pm

We ended up eating here multiple times as we really enjoyed it. The food is excellent... everything we had tasted homemade and it was lovely. The staff are very friendly and the owners take great care of the pub and it's surroundings. There is an inside area and outside patio dining with heaters overhead. They have plenty of entertainment too, including kareoke, quiz and various local musicians who play music.

One word- SHOCKING! Visited here last night and I was disgusted the way I was treated. Apparently your not allowed to help people now if their drunk. My Husband and I was staying next door so thought we would go for a drink. A lady approached me in tears, so me being the nice person I am was trying to calm her down. Bare it in mind I had only known her for about 5mins at this point. We had managed to calm her down and we took her outside, I thought fab let's go back in and get a drink. Proceeded too go to the bar where I believe her name was Emma approached me and said I wasn't getting served. I obviously asked her why? In which her reply was, your too drunk. Bare it in mind I only had two vodkas. I said can you explain to me, how I am drunk? The attitude she gave myself and my husband was shocking. Even the bouncers were on our side, he clearly seen what had happened and thought it was disgusting and even asked the girl at the bar, why I can't we be served because there's clearly nothing wrong. The bouncers apologised on our behalf because they thought it was madness. We had come up for just one night and it was truly spoilt because of one bartender. Avoid if your a nice person and you like to help people because obviously this place doesn't give a damn!

Spent the evening here at a great night

I.visited 2-3 weeks ago, and was shocked at how much the prices had gone up. I know cost of living have pushed prices up, but other pubs seem to absorb them. Decided on the burgers, which strangely tasted of mint. The bun was soggy and virtually inedible. The only decent things were the chips. Beer was warm. I may go to watch a band, but I wouldn't eat there again and wouldn't recommend

The pub has a strange smell. Food wasnt great. It was Sunday and we didn't have the carvery which might be why but we won't go again. Diet coke was £3.10 a pint and was flat.

Great atmosphere to have a nice time with your friends, they had a live band performing. We had a buffet however the food didn't look appetising.
