We had gorgeous take away fish and chips tonight. 'Meaty' haddock in tasty batter. The chips were really lovely (and I'm not a huge chip fan). Nice mushy peas too. I've never eaten in the restaurant but it is set out really great. The place always looks very clean.

Just been to pick up takeaway. I drive past a lot, but this was my first visit, I’ve been looking forward to getting rich and chip from here, but it was so disappointing. I had fish chip and beans with cost about £10.70, quite pricey but it was a treat so though ok. The fish was really small, as if a fillet had been cut along the middle lengthways and halved. It was also really rubbery, a really weird texture, was not sure what type of fish it was, I wished I had asked now. The batter was soggy and not crispy at all, it was also really oily, I couldn’t eat it. The chips were ok, but again a small portion and quite oily. The only nice thing was the beans, I feel like I’ve just had a very expensive pot of beans. I love a chippy tea and was looking forward to trying Spinners, very disappointed, I won’t be back :(

We came on Sunday with a party of 39 people from batley mencap. The staff were brilliant very patient with the members. The food was delicious, served nicely and hot. Thankyou for a lovely afternoon we will be back!!

Overated pretentious so called restaurant. Would give a greasy spoon caf more credibility for food. Does a large special just mean longer fish with more stringy bits at the end.. A large special is £17.40 with chips. Take away... Small chip portion... All bits. Nothing good I chips length to make a decent chip butty.

Called in Tuesday lunchtime with daughter and grandson , we hade fish n chips with bits and mushy peas each , with dandelion and burdock pop, It was very nice indeed , lovely . We will return

Great fish, chips and real mushy peas. Chips were perfect, batter lovely and as I say real mushy peas...no tins here! Good prices,friendly helpful staff and importantly clean premises.

Called in on my way home from work for a lunch takeaway and was not disappointed. Very good quality fish, white and textured. Batter crisped to perfection, chips also perfect - complemented by the essential sloppy peas. Counter service was friendly and very engaging. Will definitely call again!

The fish and chips here are great. But EVERY single time I go in there, my order seems to create complete disarray. The final time I went in, my order was given to a guy who came in after me and I was told - while the second guy was still there - that I had to wait another 10 minutes. So I don't go any more.

My wife called for tea time meal for 3 of us, we had decided to try spinners instead of our regular as there is very little difference in journey times,unfortunately the whole meal was colder,batter not as crispy,I personally was disappointed as I was hoping for the opposite,sorry

Called in for a quick lunch. The place was quiet but the lunchtime rush was over. The place is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff all friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Will certainly be back!

Hugely disappointed had to wait ages to be served and then a man came in and was served before me. Given a size of fish that looked the size of nemo and this cost me £6. The chips were good portion but no scraps as requested. Staff need to ask themselves would i be happy to have this size of fish served up to me or my family? even if I was the last customer before closing! I am a dewsbury resident and have been before and happy with my order but after this will never frequent again

I am disabled and diabetic and needed to eat. I have eaten in the restaurant and it was very good. Was driving passed and stopped to get a takeaway. I wish I hadn’t bothered. The fish was dry but also incredibly greasy. I did open the takeaway box before I left the shop to put on salt and vinegar and did think they did not look great but I did not want to make a fuss. I went back to my car and attempted to eat this horrible mess. As well as the fish being dry and greasy it was also cold as were the chips. There were scrappy and hardly good enough to call chips. If it had not been too painful to walk back to the take away from the car park for me I would have returned the lot. Very very disappointing will not use the takeaway again and will tell others the same. Should be ashamed to sell this rubbish at £8.95 rip off.

This place used to be the best, but not any more. Got a hand full of xl chips, mixed in with the rest, that were half cooked and spent time when I got home picking the wrapping paper off the food - there was greaseproof paper but it was under the chip bag, also greaseproof, and not protecting the fish from sticking. After paying £8.95 each I expected better - won't be going again.
