Very good food, lovely burgers. The lady serving was polite and helpful, did not have to wait long

Simple American food, burgers, fries, hotdogs shakes etc, but extremely well cooked. Best hotdog I’ve ever had. Sweet potato fries were lovely. Wife’s burger excellent too. The waiter was lovely. Very good experience. 10/10

We always order some food while watching in Everyman and never been disappointed yet. Snacks and sides are perfect for movie night and absolutely delicious. Portions are just right and we never waited too long for our food.

Excellent buttermilk chicken, chorizo and guac. Pizza good too. Friendly and efficient service but not intrusive. This little place should be packed out!!

Fabulous little restaurant. The staff were so friendly, efficient and helpful. All the food was delicious but particularly the tempura prawns. Prices were extremely reasonable and when they knew it was my birthday they fave me a free glass of prosecco. A very relaxing atmosphere and great music playing whilst we were there. I highly recommend this place and would go again.

Honestly the best food I had with my kids Pizza-100% Burgers 100% Hotdogs and prawn tempura absolutely amazing. If the kids are critics but loved the food and cleaned the dishes then yes

Good grub but prices a little steep and service a little slow

Closing the kitchen early because you’ve “had a busy day” must be the most pathetic thing I’ve heard from a manager. Chef and waitress were both very sweet, and tried to seat us, before being overruled by the manager once we were about to sit down. Communication error perhaps between staff, or just laziness and wanting an early night. Either way, poor.

Ordered via deliveroo, well no sweet potato fries and no cheesy fries arrived , no way to actually report that. Burgers ok but wrapped in very tatty tinfoil. Not very warm and the naked shrimp and avocado burger was too salty. On the receipt called it a chicken burger which I hope was an error. Would not order again myself although daughter said ok.

Thanks to Dominic and Jamie for the amazing service. They couldn’t have been more helpful. We will definitely go back next time we are in York.

We ordered a take out as we live very close. It was inedible - stone cold chips and barely warm burgers. The chips were definitely not freshly cooked - dark brown and stale. I suspect the burgers were cooked and the order left on the side as my husband waited ages for the food. I immediately tried to ring the telephone number which is published online but it was turned off. I’ll be contacting Spielburger again for a refund.

3 cold meals. No burger in the bun. 1 meal didn't arrive. Do not go ! To be fair we got a refund no quibble. Felt sorry for the waiters

Amazing food and very friendly and accommodating staff

Tried to eat in.. Sadly was seated then ignored. Food left the kitchen sat there not given to anyone for at least ten minutes..chef rang the bell for service though. It looked decent too. Place was totally empty too.. Shame..

Good food which was provided quickly once the order was taken. Not all the beers on the menu were available and the staff seemed a bit laid back, maybe we got a quiet moment and there's more hustle when it's busy. Would come back for the delicious burgers.

Amazing food in the burger restaurant - had the new truffle burger with sweet potato fries and it was cooked to perfection, tasted great and the service was really quick. Liza and Lucinda made the visit awesome. And it was fantastic value!!

Sat in at restaurant after hearing good things, crazy long wait (~2 hours and it wasn't busy) for 2 unsatisfying burgers. Truffle burger had no truffle flavour. Chips were cold, no music, no atmosphere, staff were cringe worthy.

Food, drink and staff superb. Only comment your Fire exit door from the restaurant area is locked and should really have push bar or thumb turn fixing.

Dropped by for quick burger but would not do so again. Can get same quality food at Wetherspoon for a fraction of the price.

We entered the establishment to find the "manager" having a heated argument with the Deliveroo driver about where he stores his bike, not an ideal first impression - We took a table and sat down. Absolutely zero acknowledgement from any of the staff. Waited for 5 minutes and then asked if it was table or bar service. Then, we were informed by the "manager" that they weren't actually open? Despite the door being unlocked, kitchen making food etc. He was extremely rude and arrogant. I'd really avoid this place unless you like being ignored, talked down too and blatantly lied too by staff. If I could give it zero stars I would.

I was on the way into the city centre for some food and walked past the Everyman cinema. The Spielburger restaurant was empty but I decided to gamble and I’m glad I did. I had a house burger with blue cheese and it’s one of the best burgers I’ve had. The restaurant has a nice feel and the service was friendly. Give it a go.

Fantastic food, tasty and chef worked hard getting orders completed. Unfortunately what let's this place down is the service or lack of. Tables were never cleared we were not asked in 1.5 hours if everything was ok. We had to prompt to order. 3 couples left in that time, because noone even acknowledged they were there. Extremely disappointing.

Had two margarita pizzas, chips and mozzarella flatbread - the flatbread being particularly tasty! Great place for eating just in the cinema!

We went here for lunch after seeing how gorgeous the cinema was, we were the only customers in the restaurant but took a while for staff to come see us, they were very friendly and funny though - just sometimes frustrating when we had to hunt them down for the bill at the main cinema bar! My partner had the classic burger and I had the 1219, we both thought they were pretty decent burgers and fries. I really liked the salted caramel milkshake. Overall in a great location, wish we could have seen it busier!

Had an amazing time. Great food served hot and plentiful and a lovely atmosphere. Staff could be a little more attentive would be my only comment!!

I ordered a vegetable burger with hallumi today for my granddaughter. No burger nor hallumi arrived. Chips under cooked.

Had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. My 6 year old son enjoyed his pizza, chocolate milkshake and chocolate brownie for pudding. My husband and I had burgers (can highly recommend the halloumi!), and shared a chocolate dough pudding. Reasonable price, good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Just what we needed as we were going to a nearby gig and needed a quick bite. Food was good quality, friendly service, good choice of burgers and sides. Only room for improvement would be that the padron peppers were a smaller portion than I'd expected and that the kitchen is in close proximity to the restaurant so you can smell all the delicious food cooking, but if you don't enjoy this, I'd recommend getting the burger sent into the cinema if you are watching a film, or sitting in the bar area instead.

My 8yo son spotted this walking into York for food so we decided to try it. Not disappointing at all. Food was excellent (I had the philly burger, son had pizza), service was quick too. Could have benefitted from a greeting on entry, but all in all hit the spot and saved a longer walk into York as well, where good for people with kids in an evening can be quite challenging to find. Will still here again, plus cinema is next door, makes a good evening.

Went with a couple friends. Burger was made fast, atmosphere was nice and the burgers were absolutely 100% amazing.

Wow! One of the best burgers I have ever tasted. I almost always get a burger at restaurants and so I have a reasonable appreciation as to what a good burger tastes like. Food The food was served promptly on a tray well in keeping with the style of the restaurant. I had the "The 1216" burger which is advertised as a favourite since December 2016 (easy to see why).The potato scraps with the harissa mayo on fresh brioche buns made with a well textured Aberdeen Angus burger made this one of of the best burgers I have ever tasted. I suspect that that the number of delivery collections (3 in one hour) is a good gauge of the food quality. Atmosphere Atmosphere of restaurant was excellen, I loved the style, all done to a high standard with the benches very comfortable. The music is often an forgotten aspect of a good restaurant and they had it spot on, chilled upbeat set at the right volume. The view onto the main road is nothing special but the curved glass made it seem somewhat cool. Service Service was probably the weakest point here, Possibly because it was 8pm on a sunday. That's not to say that it was in any way bad, I just found it to be acceptable. Friendly with nothing exceptional.

Visited here today with my partner for a quick bite to eat after arriving in York. Very surprised there are hardly any reviews for this place as the food and service was fantastic. The restaurant is small and casual and attaches onto the cinema - but you don't have to see a film to eat here. Prices reasonable, about £10 - 11 for a burger and fries. Very tasty food and lovely "lemony lemonade" :) completely full and would go again.

Extremely tasty burger, for a very reasonable price. Can't understand why it isn't more popular. Range of soft drinks is good, and if course they service the Everyman cinema so you can get the same food while you watch a movie! Decor is authentically movie related with lots of interest on the walls. Special vegan burger looks interesting. Would definitely go again!

I have often wanted to visit this eatery and did so today. I was not disappointed. The food was awesome, Friendly staff, good range of drinks on offer, very good!

Food is nice, however if you order a pizza make sure to order sides because they're quite small. Quite expensive but if you're going for a trip to the cinema I'd recommend it to add to the experience.

Fries thin and standard. Burger over ten pounds and nothing so great compared to McDonald's or Five Guys. Soda pop starting from £3.20.
