Food was bang average. Naan breads were dreadful. Avoid. Plenty of better Indian takeaways in Chester

We haven't had a curry from these guys since we moved to Wrexham (from Chester) and we have missed their fantastic food. We picked up a takeaway, chicken chaat, mixed starter, tandoori chicken (off the bone) jalfrezi and a chicken balti, with chilli pepper rice and garlic and coriander naan bread. It's only 20 mins drive and 15 mins in the oven to heat up. Absolutely superb food 👌🏻

Ordered takeaway from here tonight and had the chilli garlic chicken massala. It was unreal. Tasted so fresh and tasty. Rest of the food was also really good and great quality. Will deffo be ordering again.

We had delivery of some currys last night, they tasted great and the naan breads were delicious also. I accidentally only put a single naan bread on the order and they phoned my up before dispatch to ask if it was correct - greatly appreciated so service gets an A* from me!

You can have it good, fast, or cheap. Pick two.” Engineers have been saying this to project managers for decades, and as a PM something I understand. I have tried all of the Indian Takeaways that deliver to my address in Chester, and you just can't get consistent quality and service. You can have a great meal one week and a massively different experience the following week, and ordering Indian food is not cheap compared to other cuisines. When you have family up and you get a takeaway in there is nothing worse than a bad experience. So Spicy.com, you might pay slightly more to have a meal from here but you get what you pay for and that said the Classics are comparative in price to other Indian Takeaways in Chester. £9.99 for a Chicken Jalfrezi for example. If you go for something a little different you pay a premium I think that's fair. This is my preferred Indian takeaway since I moved to Chester 6 years ago and the one that is closest to the quality of the Indian I used to go to when I lived elsewhere. They deliver on time, the product is good, the portions are generous. They could throw in free poppadum's like others (that would be nice) but if you use the app you get points and discounts and you get discount codes also. So if your savvy you can save a few quid.

Fabulous experience, staff really friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. There are the usual favourites that you would expect but also some more unusual dishes. I tried the Methi Ghost a slow cooked lamb curry. The flavours were immense with a thick sauce great for dipping your naan in. Also recommend the tandoori king prawns thick and juicy. My in laws love the butter chicken as they have tasted nothing like it in Somerset.

Haven't had a meal from Spicy for a while. Was in the area so decided to get a takeaway. The food was as tasty as it use to be, didn't have to wait long and the staff were all friendly.

The best curry on the menu is the quorn chilli masala 🤤 it’s on the higher end in price but totally worth it! I get this everytime I visit Chester 😊🙌

Disappointing Don't mind paying a bit more for quality food but this isn't unfortunately, The meat was ok actually, but the sauce tasted just the same from one curry to the next.. Is madras meant to be so creamy?.. Tried once won't be ordering again sorry guys.

Had Dansak and Tika masala. Accidentally gave us Korma, so a quick call and 5 mins later steaming hot Masala and a pashwari thrown in. Fantastic service and the food was delicious with plenty left over for breakfast... 🍲😋 xx

Food great but far to expensive better options in Chester city centre with the recent price increases I can see this place not lasting to long

The onibarji had no taste no spice or even tasted like onion the kuma had 6 pieces on chicken no veg just sauce all for £16 could make it myself for cheap disgusting meal won’t be ordering again. This use to be the best Indian in town now there into making money rather than tasty food

AVOID COMPLETELY! Only came in because sipss Chinese next door was shut, atmosphere should of put me off there were countless flies in the seating area around the till and I had the starter platter: lamb which was rank and meat was grey/green in the middle and felt sick after seeing this. chicken was chewy and hard to bite through. I had one bite of the Sheek kebab after the other meats and couldn’t finish and the onion Baji was the worst I’ve ever tasted stone cold and impossible to bite through. 0:5

I'm afraid I agree with the last few reviews. This is my favourite curry house in Chester but the new prices are obscene- I'd rather dine out in a restaurant for those prices. I understand the cost of living effects us all, but this is ludicrous. Won't be going here again unfortunately:(

I have been a regular customer for over 5 years have spend a significant amount of money over the years. I have just gone on to order food for my family which for 5 of us usually comes to between £50-60 for all of us which is still a lot in this day and age for a takeaway but happy to spend that every couple of weeks as the food has always been consistent and very good. However I have just gone on to order our usual selection and it is now over £100 this is ridiculous. Unfortunately I didn’t proceed with my order as this is an obscene amount of money for a takeaway. I understand costs have increased but this is ridiculous and people aren’t stupid. Real shame as this was one of our favourites.

I have been a regular for a fair while now, but they have increased their prices by 50% in the last 3 weeks. They try to justify this by telling me they haven’t increased prices for 3 years. I don’t mind paying for anything, but I won’t be ripped off.

I rated this experience on price not food quality. We usually have a takeaway from here about once a month. We ordered pretty much our usual and when I went to pay the gentleman said £38, I asked how much and again he said £38 and that the prices had gone up slightly. The last time we had this exact meal the bill was £27. I really do understand that times have changed with fuel price rises and gas and electric prices hitting the roof, but please 40% increase is crazy. I wish them luck with their business but I think that will be our last visit to Spicy

Every thing has gone up from 30% to 50% increases ( do the Calculation ) supplies and basically everything is now a lot more then 1 year ago So you should not be surprised that good quality Food places are having to put there prices up to cover the costs or end up closing #FoodForThought

Was my favourite place, but to increase each dish by £4/£5 when most chinese and curry houses have only gone up about 70p is a big turn off just lost a customer of 4+ years can't say cost has gone up that much with the ingredients they use.. what a Shame.

Just had a great take away meal from Spicy.com, first time we've tried them and really impressed with the food and also the prompt delivery (much more reliable than certain delivery companies I could mention). Will definitely use them again.

Me and my partner order from Spicy.com nearly every Friday. Always impressed with their food, never anything missing & always hot when it arrives at the door. Delivery staff very friendly.

Every time you order they say that you will have to wait over 2 hours just to cover themselves. The food normally arrives within 1 hour but when I complained they basically told me to go away and then put the phone down.... The manager would not speak to me directly....avoid like the plague if you are hungry.. .

Have got takeaway from here several times now and have never been disappointed. The curries are flavourful and really delicious, and I appreciate that Quorn is offered as a veggie option, not just mixed veg! Try the Barud if you are a spice lover, it's fantastic. Their loyalty programme is generous too. Will keep coming back without a doubt! 👍👍👍

We're lucky enough to be able to order the most wonderful food you can imagine. Their dishes are innovative, delicious and the takeaway restaurant offers a delivery service. With staff as friendly and as nice as the grub - what more could you ask!

We order on average once a month and have to say, whoever is in the kitchen tonight has created a truly flavourful meal for us both. Just wow- and all we had was a Balti and a madras!

We are regulars ordering from these guys, food is always delicious and delivered hot (we do live close admittedly) but tonight I've got to mention my choice of food. My other half had her usual chicken balti (superb as usual), but I had a change and ordered a jalfrezi, hadn't ordered one for years for some reason. I have tried lots of their other dishes and have been very impressed. When you order their curries you then have a choice of meats etc. Please try the tandoori chicken off the bone. It's 3 quid extra, but wow so tasty! And the jalfrezi sauce, omg I'd forgotten how superb this is, hot and spicy, rich and tangy. Also the chilli pepper rice is a delicious choice, with chicken tikka naan. Thanks Spicy.com just fabulous 😀

Absolutely amazing food and great vegetarian options, we got the vegetarian meal with the vegetable biryani and extra popadoms for a family of 4. 100% recommend.

Good website, well built and easy to navigate. Placing the order was also easy with collection slots that you can pick. Top Mark's for that. The food was great and a welcome suprise as the last one we had from a well established firm close to the station was awful. Chicken and fish were well cooked and the sauces tasty, breads were also good. Next time I want a Indian will be going back to them.

I would just like to thank the guys at Spicy for their great quality consistent food, we are regulars and live close by in Great Boughton. Tonight I ordered a takeaway for delivery, my wife had chicken balti with chips, I ordered the Spicy.com special biryani with Madras sauce. When the food arrived, early, I realised that the Madras sauce was missing. I phoned the guys, apologies etc and they said we'll send your sauce now. Literally 5 minutes later a different delivery driver dropped off my piping hot Madras sauce. Now that's what I call great service! Many thanks guys, your food is always fantastic.

We have been having food from these for years we wont go no where else im fussy but they go all out and make it to your taste for eg my partner likes lamb a dish he likes it bit hotter they make it to his taste same with me I always order the same as its amazing I ask for slightly hotter and it allways tastes the correct heat there is a box when you order on line to tell them any info i wanted extra garlic and they did it my extended family members also will only order from these and it tastes like its just been cooked right before its delivered ,

Vivimos a casi 8 millas de Spicy. com y no solo son los únicos para llevar en nuestra área, sino que la comida siempre está muy caliente, los repartidores son muy amables y nuestra comida llega muy rápido.El menú fijo para dos es algo que DEBE probar, ya que hay muchos platos diferentes para comer y todos realmente sabrosos. Hemos probado una variedad de otros platos del menú y siempre volvemos a la comida para 2 (cambio el Tikka Masala por un Madrás no demasiado caliente). Solía usar Spicy de forma regular hasta que la comida comenzó a girar hacia abajo. Al no haber pedido durante mucho tiempo, pensamos que lo probaríamos con la esperanza de que hubiera vuelto al estándar al que estábamos acostumbrados anteriormente.Mal movimiento. . . . El mejor artículo fue la cebolla Bhaji entrantes. . . ¡estaban deliciosos! Un comienzo prometedor pero a partir de entonces todo cuesta abajo. Tuve un langostino jalfrezi y mi compañero uno de pollo, ninguno de nuestros cartones de grasa roja brillante parecía ni sabía a jalfrezi. Las gambas eran muy pequeñas y el resto no tenía nada de especial. El arroz era normal, el ajo naan era miserable, plano, pequeño y pastoso con un abrumador sabor a coco. Realmente quería disfrutar de nuestra comida después de pensar que podrían haber mejorado su juego. . . no lo han hecho! !

Ordered from here as it was closet. Speedy delivery and plenty of choice. Reasonably priced. The chicken chat was delicious as were the onion bahjis. The bhuna and the biryani were a little bland for my liking

El caballero detrás del teléfono me dijo que tratarían de entregar mi cena en cualquier momento dentro de una hora. Sin embargo, el tiempo transcurrido fue en realidad mucho más corto, más cercano a los 45 minutos, impresionante debido a la relativa distancia que vivo del establecimiento, Upton - by - Chester. I've used this takeaway for years but the food tonight was very poor,In fact most of the main meal ended up in the bin.The mixed kebab starter was ok,although the salad wasn't the freshest as it usually is.I had a Chicken tikka Pathia as main and pilau rice but the rice was all stuck together and dry and the Pathia was very average in flavour and also dry.I've written this review because tonight's meal fell well below the usual standards that I usually receive from spicy and I feel as though I've just wasted money.I won't be ordering from here again for a while.

Despite knowing how to cook BIR myself and having a batch of base gravy in the freezer, I had lazy-itis and decided to order from spicy.com- not for the first time, I admit. It’s been consistently good: tried the tandoori chicken for the first time and it was (almost! ) as good as mine. The madras sauce I ordered was superior to my own: really rich and spicy. Loved the smattering of cumin in the boiled rice as well. Very tasty! Well done, Spicy. Mike and I will definitely continue to order.

I like open kitchens and this is one of the best. Spotlessly clean and my choice of Persian lamb Biryani was an excellent one, No sauce pots here, it is all made fresh to order and the quality and flavours were really delicious, with succulent lamb. Thank you. Generous helpings of food, including the meat.

Decidimos ser perezosos el sábado por la noche y pedimos una comida para llevar a domicilio. Me conecté y cambié rápidamente los detalles de nuestra dirección. Tuvimos poppadoms y una bandeja de chutney, bhajis de cebolla, pollo tikka jalfrezi, arroz pilau y un keema nan para compartir entre nosotros. Llegó dentro de la hora todo todavía agradable y cálido. Era muy sabroso y el jalfrezi era perfecto.

Never disappointed, may be pricer then other establishments but you get what you pay for , fresh quality ingredients and no packet frozen chicken like most other places now a-days who drive costs down to keep prices low to make a profit in-turn making us all eaten harmful produce

This is the second time we have had bad food and deserves a reveiw as food has gone totally down hill, I don’t know how many times they can re-heat the chips they was disgusting chewy and swivelled up, the madras has no spice to it, my wife’s food had no meat just onions and the gentleman on the phone was rude.

I found the food bland and they taste the same irrespective of what's ordered. Have stopped using them.

Ordered two curries which both came with the same sauce. The only difference was one had whole chicken and one was pieces. The sauce was also far too sweet and was almost sickly to the taste. Not impressed by the experience, especially considering the price.

This is an excellent take-away - used them many times. I had one mis-delivery a while back - ordered a Dot Com Special, received a Chicken Jalfrezi. Not a big issue for me - I like Jalfrezi; but when I emailed them to tell them the order was wrong (I didn't complain; merely pointed it out), the owner/proprietor offered me food, on the house. Customer service doesn't come much better than that! Prices for some of the starters seem a bit steep for what you get, but for the mains - for me, they're reasonable.

Pedimos dos platos populares, cordero Rogan Josh y Paneer Makhani. El Rogan Josh consistía en cordero sin sazonar en una salsa de tomate suave sin ningún toque de especias. Terrible. ¿Cómo puedes hacerlo tan mal? !

He pedido desde aquí varias veces y son consistentemente buenos y entregan a tiempo. Siempre hay una cantidad decente de carne en los platos principales y los guarniciones son lo suficientemente grandes como para compartir. Los naans están bien, pero podrían llevarlos con bolsas más grandes para entregarlos, ya que al doblarlos llegarán empapados. Todavía lo recomendaría.

This place is just to good , best takeway ever I had the Chicken Go on fry with boil rice and Pathea sauce , perfectly cooked is all I can say

disgustingly small portions, ordered the combo, it only had 9 pieces of chicken between them both and that was £9.99, i reckon it was about a medium breast worth of chicken breast at best.

We placed a big order online for 8 people. The food arrived within just over an hour of ordering (plus we live in Upton). The selection of starters we’d ordered were spot on all fresh and still hot as were all the main courses. Spicy.com is still our favourite Indian takeway by far!

I don't often order takeaway however after trying spicy.com I am obsessed! most exquisite cuisines I have ever encountered!

Despite being a little pricy this place delivers the best Indian take out for miles. We have been ordering from this place ever since it opened and never once had so much as a grumble. Plus the kids love it too it makes for a great weekend treat for the whole family.

Such a disappointment tonight. We've ordered many many times tonight our food (£55 order) was over half an hour late we were given a £5 discount but then the driver rang and my husband and brother had to go and meet the driver because he said our directions of 2 turns was too complicated (rude) and the food was cold by the time the food arrived at ours. We had 2 kids waiting for their treat tea. 3 of the dishes ordered were insanely spicy and were not eaten. Very disappointed as we order often

Polite staff, open kitchen cooking to order, extensive menu.Very popular can be crazy busy. Delicious rices and naan breads. Meateaters I know are always happy. I personally like the sag paneer/ aloo, mushroom and prawn puris the stilton and garlic naan is so delicious as is the mushroom rice and the chips are the best in town. The falafel dish is a treat, savoury tasty sauce not hot and spicy.

A great place for a tasty takeaway - make sure you order well in advance though since it does get busy! The problem with Chester though is there's too much choice in terms of Indian/Bangladeshi food.What you see at Spicy is exactly what you get - family run with great chefs and FRESH produce that's sourced locally.Plenty of drivers to deliver the food - not enough gas burners sometimes to cope with demand! That's not a criticism it's a compliment... The guys do a lot for the local community too.

Delivered the wrong order, with only one meal in it, it was for a couple. We phoned up to complain and apparently the only person left was the cleaner, it was 5 mins after closing.
