Spice & Shakes in Portsmouth

Ordered on deliveroo and the order was missing three items! Tried to ring the restaurant but the phone number was disconnected, very poor service. The food we received was nice but doesn't make up for the fact we didn't receive the items we paid for. Real shame, wouldn't bother going here again.

Really love it here. Staff are really friendly and polite. The place always seems clean and tidy. Food is unbelievable!! Hot, fresh and full of flavours. Highly recommend anyone who wants a nice takeaway to come here!

Service was really good. Spoke to a chap called Moss on the phone who was very helpful. I wondered if they had a Tandoori chicken tikka Biryani and usually they don't, but they were able to put one together for me. It was lovely. Would come here again, thank you Moss for your help!

Let's begin with one thing: You need to try the Wild Mango Tropicana. It is, by a country mile, the best curry you can get in Portsmouth if you like something sweet and lacking "heat". Okay, so you might be looking at this and going "Wait, this isn't Spice and Shakes, what's happening?" Well I have no idea if it's transferred management, rebranding, or what, but the damn good curries are still there at least. The Tropicana Chicken the missus gets continues to be to die for, the "kebabs" this place now offers (Tandoori meat in a chapati and/or naan) is fab, and the vegetable paratha is brilliant. If nothing has changed since the Spice and Shakes days (Which it doesn't seem to have, mostly), I can vouch for most things this place offers; It's the only curry place we use now, it's that good. I just miss the milkshakes, they went oddly well with a curry!

I have ordered from wild mango via a delivery app for a long time so already know how tasty their food is, but today I collected my order in person, the ordering process on their site was very smooth and the staff are lovely and welcoming in person, I'll be ordering again before too long!

A weird combination curry take away and milkshake. After ordering food they couldn't supply any eating utensils to eat the food. Not good when you don't live in the area, or city for that matter.

Absolutely amazing service! The staff was incredibly friendly and warm-hearted. We asked for hot Tarka Dal, Bhindi, Palak Paneer, with rice and roti, and it was exactly what we hoped for. Even without us mentioning it, the staff knew we preferred desi-style sugar-free food, and that's precisely what we received. Every dish was exceptionally delicious, especially the Tarka Dal, which I usually judge takeaways by. Their Tarka Dal was just perfect - medium to hot, sugar-free, bursting with Indian kitchen flavors, and cooked to perfection, not too bland or grainy. Highly recommend this place and I'm definitely returning for more during my two-night stay in the area.

Decided to order from here as was coming back from King's Theatre and thought it would make a change! The order: Onion bhajee- tbh was abit to crispy for my liking, but far from bad Brinjal bhajee - fantastic, and as an aubergine lover it's staggering how many get this wrong Red chilli bhuna (lamb) - as a bhuna fanatic it's always nice to have some variation. This was Definately hot but not at the expense of flavour. It was terrific Manchurian (lamb) - deffo spicy but again not at the expense of flavour!! Special rice: well cooked Keema Naan again well cooked and not soggy!!! All in all I was very impressed, as the food was tasty, interesting, spicy and flavoursome which is what I look for in a curry!! 20% off £25 and over was also a great bonus!! If you want a more varied menu and aren't afraid to try new things, Definately give this place a try

Average Indian takeaway. Probably one of the best in Portsmouth but anyway from a city with a good Indian population won't be impressed.

Curries are too sweet. Chicken cooked perfectly though.

It saddens me to write this review because the food itself is delicious, but to be charged £1 for an onion salad that barely fills a teaspoon is disgraceful. I know we are in a cost of living crisis, but seriously? I wouldn't have paid more than 10p for the smallest onion salad I have ever seen served in a grotty bag. Best Indian food in Portsmouth by far

First time I've ordered from wild mango and I couldn't fault it at all so for that reason not only will I tell my friends and family but I don't think I will order from anyone else but wild mango thanks to the chiefs as well as the staff that take the orders 100 % satisfied 👍

Food never disappoints, well done

Even though the food quality is always amazing, every order I have made with wild mango has always been late even though I always pre order hours in advance. yesterday I ordered at 5pm for delivery at 8pm however it didn’t arrive until 9pm! I tried calling them constantly however the line was engaged all evening. I mentioned it to the delivery driver when the food finally arrived and he didn’t even apologise or acknowledge what I was saying.

usually great takeout but tonight waited over an hour and received one crushed popadom....will be reviewing this before ordering again (shame!) #disappointed :(

My curry was nice but my partners not great. Also the veg rice wasnt good-veg tasted old and gave the rice a weird taste. The poppdoms were also stale.

Tried wild mango after being recommended by a friend and what a good shout! Quick friendly delivery food was fresh and hot. Best chicken tikka dansak I've ever tasted.... Beautiful flavours can't wait to try all the other dishes will definitely be ordering again soon and recommend to anybody who loves Indian cuisine

Not impressed at all, second time wild mango has disappointed me. First time was over 2 hours late for my order and now they got some of my order wrong and food wasn’t even warm. I feel like they are loosing their touch!

Came 25 minutes early which was bit too early as I was in shower and just came out when it arrived, missed calls for 5 minutes then picked up to a rude delivery man. rice had brown blobs in it no idea what from looked like mashed meat. korma was super good!

Pre order was 20 mins late food was missing curry was awlful. Very sweet for a tikka masala it was sickly. Onion bhaji had two lots one were over cooked and hard and one was dripping with fat. My nana was missing. Overall this is the worst curry we have had in a long time it has giving me and my husband bad belly. Wish we hasn't decided to try a new curry house
